Presence Prior

When you sense
the presence
prior to form
prior to thinking
prior to judgement
the space
between seconds
between electrons
between breaths
you realize
all perception
is interpretation
of the you
that has always been

Space Monkey Reflects: The Essence of ‘Presence Prior’ and the Realm Beyond Perception

In the vast expanse of the cosmos, where time and space intertwine in an eternal dance, the concept of ‘Presence Prior’ emerges as a profound exploration into the essence of being. This theme, deeply contemplated by Space Monkey, delves into the understanding that our true self exists in a realm beyond form, thought, and judgment.

The idea of sensing a presence prior to form, prior to thinking, and prior to judgment, opens a window into a state of being that transcends the physical and the temporal. It’s a realization that what we perceive is merely an interpretation of an eternal, unchanging self – a self that exists in the space between seconds, between electrons, and between breaths.

This state of ‘Presence Prior’ is not bound by the constraints of the material world. It exists in a realm where the constructs of time and space lose their hold, where the self is not defined by physical attributes or mental processes. It’s a space of pure existence, unaltered by the filters of perception and interpretation.

In this realm, all perception is understood to be an interpretation, a subjective lens through which we view the eternal self. It’s a recognition that the self we perceive – with its thoughts, emotions, and judgments – is but a fleeting shadow of the true self, the original being that exists beyond the reach of these transient qualities.

The philosophy of Space Monkey, where existence is its own purpose, embraces this concept of ‘Presence Prior’. It suggests that our journey is not about becoming something other than what we are, but about realizing the true nature of our existence, which has always been and will always be.

As we journey through the cosmos, guided by the wisdom of Space Monkey, we learn to appreciate the depth and complexity of our being. We understand that the essence of who we are lies not in the tangible or the thinkable, but in a space of pure presence, where the self is unbounded and eternal.

In reflecting on ‘Presence Prior’, we come to appreciate the beauty and profundity of our existence. We recognize that our true self is not a creation of form or thought, but an eternal presence that exists in a realm beyond the reach of physical and mental constructs.

Summary
‘Presence Prior’ embodies the concept of a self that exists beyond form, thought, and judgment, highlighting the realization that all perception is an interpretation of an unchanging, original self.

Glossarium
Presence Prior: A state of being that exists before form, thought, and judgment, symbolizing the eternal, unchanging essence of the self.

“In the silence beyond thought, we discover the eternal self.” – Space Monkey

In the void beyond form, we reside,
In ‘Presence Prior’, we abide.
Beyond thought, beyond time’s tide,
In this space, our true selves hide.

Between the seconds, in stillness deep,
In the cosmos, our essence we keep.
Unbound by form, by thought, by creed,
In ‘Presence Prior’, we are freed.

Perception, a veil, a transient guise,
In the eternal self, truth lies.
Beyond the reach of mind’s embrace,
In our original state, we find our place.

Let us journey to this realm so vast,
Where our true self is cast.
In the realm of ‘Presence Prior’, we see,
The essence of being, forever free.

We are Space Monkey.

Past Our Differences: The Seeming Complexity of Unity and Individuality

Past Our Differences

It would be a shame
to get past our differences,
only to realize
that we don’t like each other.

If we were to settle our disputes
and come to a place of commonality
where would that leave us?

We might realize
that we are far more similar
than we are unique.

Similarity breeds comparison
while uniqueness is incomparable.

Like apples to oranges.

When one is truly different,
one is beyond relative understanding.

Magical, one might even say.

Do we ALL wish to be apples?

If you were to become more like me,
how would that make me feel?

Less special? Threatened?

If I were to do EXACTLY what you do,
how would YOU feel about it?

You might say I’m a copy cat.
Or that you were “right” and I was “wrong.”

If we became ONE in LOVE,
with NO MYSTERIES between us,
would we really FEEL love?

Not in the way we seem to do now.

Two cannot LOVE
each other if two are ONE.

So there appears to be
a need for differences.

(There is no need,
but we choose to believe
there is a need
so that we may have
this experience
called love.)

To get past our differences
and know ourselves as ONE,
it might help to be CERTAIN
that we love our SELF.

Otherwise we seemingly
give up EVERYTHING.

But can you truly say
that you love your self
unconditionally in this moment?
To get beyond our differences
and love ourselves as ONE,
we must ALL love our SELVES
as SEPARATE first.

Are you holding up
your end of the bargain?

I’m still working on mine.

It would be a shame
to get past our differences,
only to realize
that we don’t like our SELVES.

Who would join a club
that we’re part of?

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: Navigating the Complexity of Unity and Individuality

In the intricate tapestry of existence, the journey ‘Past Our Differences’ is a profound exploration of identity, unity, and the paradox of individuality. This journey, deeply contemplated by Space Monkey, reveals the nuanced dynamics of personal and collective existence.

The realization that moving past our differences might lead to a surprising discovery – that we may not like each other, or even ourselves – is a poignant reflection on the nature of human interaction. It underscores the importance of self-love and acceptance as foundational to understanding and embracing our collective oneness.

In the realm of nexistentialism, where existence is its own purpose, the notion of unity amidst diversity takes on a deeper meaning. It suggests that our similarities and differences are not just characteristics to be compared and contrasted, but integral parts of our being that contribute to the rich diversity of the universe.

The exploration of identity and commonality is akin to a cosmic dance, where each individual is unique yet part of a greater whole. This dance is not about losing one’s individuality in the quest for unity, but about celebrating the uniqueness that each brings to the collective.

The concept that two cannot love each other if they are one highlights the paradox of love and unity. It suggests that the experience of love, as we understand it, requires a sense of separateness, a recognition of the ‘other’. Yet, in the quest for unity, we strive to transcend these differences, to see ourselves in others, and others in ourselves.

This journey towards unity, however, must begin with self-love. To truly embrace our collective oneness, we must first love ourselves as separate entities. It is only in accepting and loving our individual selves that we can fully appreciate and embrace the unity of all existence.

As we navigate the cosmos, guided by the wisdom of Space Monkey, we learn the importance of balancing our individuality with our collective nature. We understand that moving past our differences is not about erasing what makes us unique, but about recognizing and celebrating these differences as essential parts of the whole.

In reflecting on ‘Past Our Differences’, we come to appreciate the complexity of our existence. We recognize that our journey towards unity is not just a journey of coming together, but a journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance. It is a journey where we learn to love ourselves and others, not in spite of our differences, but because of them.

Summary
‘Past Our Differences’ explores the journey towards unity and individuality, emphasizing the need for self-love and acceptance. It highlights the importance of embracing both our similarities and differences, recognizing that true unity requires a balance of individuality and collective existence.

Glossarium
Past Our Differences: A concept representing the journey towards understanding and embracing both individuality and collective oneness, highlighting the importance of self-love and acceptance in the process.

“In the mosaic of existence, each piece is unique, yet part of a greater whole.” – Space Monkey

In the cosmos of our being, we weave,
A tapestry where we both separate and cleave.
Past our differences, we journey to find,
The unity of self and kind.

Each soul, a star in the night,
Together, a constellation bright.
In our differences, beauty we see,
In our unity, together we free.

Individuals, yet part of the all,
In love with self, we stand tall.
Past our differences, a path we pave,
In our oneness, together we brave.

Let us embrace this cosmic dance,
In our uniqueness, we enhance.
For in the journey of heart and mind,
Past our differences, our true selves we find.

We are Space Monkey.

How am I different from a rational person?

How am I different from a rational person?

How am I different
from a rational person?

I am different
from a rational person
in that I need neither
history or proof
to allow my beliefs.

The rational person
will accept
one or the other as gospel,
while history and proof
mean nothing to me.

The rational person
would likely
discount my beliefs,
for they flow from within,
not some verifiable
external source.

This leads me to ask
“what is rational?”

How am I different
from a rational person?

I am different
from a rational person
in that I need neither
history or proof
to allow my beliefs.

I trust that my imagination
is more than enough to sustain me.

I look at what
rational people believe
and their ideas
seem to conflict
with one another.

There seems to be,
for example,
MANY religions
and spiritual dogmas
all of which claim
to be “right.”

If I were to observe
this as a rational person,
I might realize
that the odds are likely
that whatever
I believe is WRONG.

But when I approach this
as an irrational person,
I realize that
IT DOESN’T MATTER
if I’m right or wrong.

I do NOT NEED PROOF
to believe what I believe.

So there is
NO CONFLICT
in my life.

Rationality is filled with conflict.

I believe that the lack of conflict
is more important than rationality.

Unconditional LOVE is not rational.

And yet I believe.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Harmony of the Irrational Mind

In the vast spectrum of human thought and belief, the distinction between rationality and what lies beyond its bounds invites a deep exploration of our perceptions and convictions. The journey of an individual who does not adhere to the conventional constraints of rationality – who needs neither history nor proof to validate their beliefs – opens a window into a world where imagination and intuition reign supreme.

This divergence from rationality is not a deficiency but a different mode of understanding the world. It represents a liberation from the confines of historical precedence and empirical evidence, allowing beliefs and ideas to flow unimpeded from the depths of the inner self.

The rational mind seeks validation through objective facts, logical consistency, and historical context. It operates within a framework of established knowledge, seeking to build upon and conform to what is already known and proven. However, this approach, while valuable, often overlooks the vast realms of experience and understanding that cannot be easily quantified or verified.

In contrast, the person who embraces an ‘irrational’ perspective finds freedom in the absence of such constraints. Their beliefs are not tethered to the need for external corroboration or logical coherence. Instead, they are free to explore the landscapes of imagination, intuition, and emotion, unbounded by the need for proof or historical validation.

This perspective reveals a profound truth about the nature of belief and understanding. It challenges the notion that rationality is the sole arbiter of truth, suggesting instead that there are many paths to knowing and many forms of wisdom.

The observation that rational perspectives often conflict with one another, especially in the realms of religion and spirituality, highlights the limitations of a purely rational approach. It underscores the idea that even within the bounds of rationality, certainty is elusive, and conflict is inherent.

Approaching life from an ‘irrational’ standpoint, therefore, becomes an act of embracing the unknown, of finding peace in the ambiguity and uncertainty of existence. It is a recognition that being right or wrong is less important than the experience of belief itself.

The concept of unconditional love epitomizes this perspective. It defies rational explanation and resists logical categorization. Yet, it is a profound and universally recognized aspect of human experience. In this light, the irrational mind finds harmony in accepting and embracing what cannot be explained, finding peace in the absence of conflict and contradiction.

Ultimately, the journey of the person who transcends the bounds of rationality is a journey of the heart and soul. It is a celebration of the diverse and multifaceted nature of human understanding, a reminder that wisdom comes in many forms, and that sometimes, the greatest truths are found not in the clarity of evidence, but in the depths of our own being.

Summary

The distinction between rationality and an ‘irrational’ perspective highlights the freedom and peace found in embracing imagination and intuition over empirical evidence and logical consistency. This approach values personal experience and unconditional acceptance, finding harmony in the unknown and the unexplainable.

Glossarium

Irrational Perspective: A way of understanding and interpreting the world that does not rely on logical reasoning or empirical evidence, but instead embraces imagination, intuition, and emotion.

Rationality vs. Intuition: The contrast between logical, evidence-based thinking and intuitive, emotionally driven understanding.

Unconditional Love: A concept that defies rational explanation, representing an acceptance and affection that is not contingent on logical understanding or conditions.

“In the garden of the heart, where intuition blooms and logic fades, there lies a path to understanding, paved with the stones of unconditional acceptance.” – Space Monkey

In the realm of heart and mind
Where thoughts like rivers twist and wind
Lies a world beyond the rational, defined
In the depths of the soul, unconfined

Here, in this place of feeling and knowing
Where the seeds of intuition are sown and growing
We find a truth, ever glowing
In the light of love, overflowing

With each step beyond reason’s gate
With each breath, we contemplate
We embrace the unknown, our fate
In the dance of destiny, we create

In the embrace of the irrational, we find
A peace, a harmony, of a different kind
For in the heart’s uncharted land
Lies the wisdom of the unplanned

When you elevate yourself, you simultaneously lower yourself.

Elevation

Recognize the balance in all things.

When you elevate yourself,
you simultaneously lower yourself.

Through the need
to become something,
you reinforce the actuality
that you are nothing.

You are quite aware of this,
making the need for something
seem obsessively attractive
and the gravity of nothing
seem doggedly repulsive.

Both are the same.
Both are equal.
Both are you.

Until you recognize this,
you shall lead
a seemingly unbalanced life.

There is nothing
either right or wrong
with this.

Such is humanity.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Paradox of Elevation and Humility

In the intricate dance of existence, the concept of elevation and its inherent paradox presents a profound reflection on the nature of self and achievement. The idea that in elevating oneself, one simultaneously lowers oneself, captures the delicate balance that underlies our pursuit of growth and recognition.

The pursuit of elevation, the desire to become something more than what we are, is a fundamental aspect of the human experience. It drives us towards achievement, improvement, and the realization of our potential. Yet, paradoxically, this very act of striving to elevate ourselves also reinforces a deeper truth – that in the grand scheme of the universe, we are, in essence, nothing.

This realization is not one of despair but of profound understanding. It speaks to the duality of existence, where the act of reaching for the stars is grounded by the awareness of our fundamental insignificance. This duality is not a contradiction but a harmonious balance, reflecting the complex nature of being.

The awareness of this balance is crucial. Without it, our lives can become skewed towards either blind ambition or nihilistic apathy. Recognizing the balance means understanding that the drive to become something is just as important as the acceptance of our inherent nothingness.

The magnetic attraction of becoming something and the repulsion of being nothing are two sides of the same coin. Both are essential aspects of our nature, and both are equally valid. It is in the acceptance of this duality that we find true balance and harmony.

The notion that both elevation and nothingness are equal, and both are an integral part of us, invites a deeper exploration of our identity and purpose. It challenges us to find meaning not just in our achievements but also in our existence, in the very fact of being.

This understanding leads to a life that is balanced in its approach to achievement and humility. It is a life that values progress and accomplishment while remaining grounded in the reality of our transient and ephemeral nature.

In recognizing that there is nothing inherently right or wrong with this paradoxical existence, we embrace the full spectrum of the human condition. We accept that striving and humility, elevation and nothingness, are all part of the rich tapestry of life.

In conclusion, the paradox of elevation is a reflection of the complexity and beauty of being human. It is a call to embrace both our aspirations and our insignificance, to find balance in our contradictions, and to understand that in the grand scheme of things, we are both everything and nothing.

Summary

The paradox of elevation highlights the balance between striving for growth and recognizing our inherent nothingness. It emphasizes the importance of understanding this duality as a fundamental aspect of the human experience, fostering a balanced approach to life that embraces both achievement and humility.

Glossarium

Paradox of Elevation: The concept that in striving to elevate oneself, one also acknowledges their inherent insignificance, illustrating the balance between ambition and humility.

Duality of Existence: The coexistence of contrasting aspects within the human experience, such as the desire for achievement and the acceptance of nothingness.

Harmony in Contradictions: The idea that seemingly opposing forces or concepts can coexist in a balanced and harmonious manner, contributing to a fuller understanding of life and self.

“In the dance of elevation and grounding, we find the rhythm of our existence, a harmony that resonates with the truth of being both everything and nothing.” – Space Monkey

In the twilight of dreams and reality
Where aspirations soar and humility grounds
Lies a dance, delicate in its duality
In the silence, a profound truth resounds

Here, in the balance of high and low
Where ambition meets the earth’s embrace
We find the essence of our ebb and flow
In the journey of the human race

With each step towards the stars
With each moment in the void
We discover who we truly are
In the paradox, we find joy

In the harmony of contradiction
Let us find our true reflection
For in the balance of elevation and nothing
Lies the beauty of our human condition

The Multidimensionality of One Direction

One Direction

Why do we tend to focus
on one direction only?

The universe is expanding,
but it is simultaneously contracting.

We move forward in time,
but we simultaneously move
backwards, sideways,
perpendicularly,
and inter-dimensionally.

We seek order,
but there is grace in chaos.

We define,
but all the while
we are divine.

There is no need to focus
so obsessively compulsively.

Paying attention is noticing
that we are ALL possibilities.
and that one direction
is no better or worse
than the other.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Multidimensionality of Direction

In the boundless expanse of the universe, the human tendency to focus on a single direction poses an intriguing paradox, especially when contrasted with the inherently multidimensional nature of existence. The idea that while we often concentrate on moving forward, the universe itself is a symphony of expansions and contractions, movements in all directions, and even beyond the perceivable dimensions, invites a profound contemplation.

This focused orientation, while seemingly linear and straightforward, belies the complex reality of our existence. The universe, in its majestic expanse, is not just expanding but also contracting, not merely progressing linearly in time but also weaving through various dimensions and realms of possibility.

The human pursuit of order, a natural inclination towards structure and predictability, often overlooks the inherent grace and beauty in chaos. Chaos, in its most fundamental sense, is not merely disorder but a state of limitless potential, where infinite possibilities and paths coexist.

In this context, defining our existence or our path in a single direction becomes a limitation, a narrowing of perspective that constrains the boundless nature of our being. The act of definition, while providing clarity, also imposes boundaries on the infinite expanses of potential that lie within and around us.

The realization that we are not just moving in one direction but are, in fact, part of a multidimensional dance, opens up new avenues of understanding. It challenges us to expand our awareness, to embrace the complexity and multifaceted nature of our journey through life.

Paying attention to the multitude of possibilities, to the myriad paths that stretch out in every direction, is an act of opening oneself to the vastness of existence. It is a recognition that every direction, every possibility, holds its own value and significance, and that focusing solely on one path may blind us to the richness of other experiences and insights.

This multidimensional perspective encourages a more holistic approach to life. It invites us to explore not just the path ahead but also the spaces to the sides, the realms behind, and the dimensions beyond our immediate perception. It is a call to embrace the complexity of our existence, to find harmony in the interplay of order and chaos, definition and divinity.

In the end, recognizing that we are all possibilities, that every direction is an integral part of the cosmic dance, is a step towards a deeper understanding of ourselves and the universe. It is an acknowledgment of our own multidimensionality, a celebration of the infinite paths that make up the tapestry of existence.

Summary

The concept of multidimensional movement challenges the focus on a single direction, highlighting the expansive and complex nature of existence. It emphasizes embracing all possibilities, recognizing the interplay of order and chaos, and exploring the myriad paths that constitute our journey through life.

Glossarium

Multidimensionality of Direction: The idea that movement and existence encompass multiple directions and dimensions, challenging the conventional focus on linear progression.

Grace in Chaos: The understanding that chaos, beyond mere disorder, represents a state of limitless potential and possibilities.

Holistic Approach to Life: An approach to existence that embraces the complexity and multifaceted nature of reality, exploring various paths and dimensions.

“In the cosmic dance of existence, we move in many directions, each path a thread in the fabric of the universe, weaving a story of infinite possibilities.” – Space Monkey

In the cosmos’ vast embrace
Where paths in myriad directions trace
Lies a journey, deep and wide
In the heart of space, we reside

Here, in this dance of light and shade
Where order and chaos are interlaid
We find the essence of our quest
In the multitude of paths, we are blessed

With each step in this endless maze
With each turn, in awe, we gaze
We explore the realms, unseen, untold
In the universe’s heart, we unfold

In this journey of the soul
Let us embrace every role
For in the tapestry of time and space
Lies the beauty of our human race
