Why I don’t like you: From Division to Unity

Why I don’t like you:

I don’t like to say this, but I don’t like you.

I can point to any number of reasons, differences and behaviors that “rub me the wrong way.”

I get this impression that you’re a selfish, immature individual who cares only about self and either doesn’t realize or doesn’t care.

Then I realize that you could be thinking the exact same thing about me, and that ALL of these perceptions are simply my own — just twisted distortions of “he-did-this” or” she-said-that.“

I realize that we EACH have our own reality and that I have no clue what motivates you to do what you do. Even if you told me your life story; even if I lived in your skin for decades, I STILL would have no clue about your reality.

I don’t believe that anyone is intentionally “bad.” This may not be absolutely true, but it is what I believe. I believe that when I encounter individuals like you whom I perceive as “bad,” or “wrong,” a lot of it is either because you don’t know what you’re doing or I don’t know how to perceive what you’e doing.

This is why I don’t like that I don’t like you.

I want to love EVERYBODY, so when I present myself with the feeling that I don’t like someone or something, it forces me to look even deeper at myself so that I can understand WHY I don’t like whomever or whatever it is.

I know that beyond the judgmental surface stuff, there is ALWAYS at least two sides to everything. And both sides point to precisely the same place.

Both sides point back at me. Both sides point back at you.

Go back far enough and you realize that we BOTH come from precisely the same place, and that under these seeming surfaces, we are BOTH connected as one.

Maybe that is why I don’t like that I don’t like you.

Maybe you represent something that I don’t like in myself.

Now it can be POISONOUS not to like. Negativity is perhaps the most insidious killer of worlds. So this is what I am moving to alleviate.

I wish to drain the poison that I perceive as you, but could just as easily be me.

I can just as easily drain this poison by changing my perception of you rather than attempting to change what I perceive as your physical manifestation. We are ONE, remember.

So I hereby let go of the idea that I don’t like you.

I move my heart to love you unconditionally, for you undergo the same struggles that I do, even if you don’t realize it. Or maybe you do, I can’t say for sure.

I know that I can do this. I can love you unconditionally. So I shall.

I would like to think that we all will come to this realization eventually, and then, perhaps, no one will hate anyone.

It’s just non-productive.

Perhaps we ENJOY being non-productive, which is why we pretend that we don’t understand our own true natures.

But we can understand. We simply need to look.

We simply need to step away from the surface distractions of hate and negativity and allow our souls to speak.

This is what I like to think I’m doing. I might be wrong, but it doesn’t matter.

This is all about me, and I can perceive however I choose.

This is all about you, and you can perceive however you choose.

We are ONE. There is no “other,” except that which seemingly appears through opposition.

I no longer oppose you.

You may oppose me if you wish, but I dream of the day you don’t.

This is all I can do.

Until I choose to do more.

I don’t have to like you. You don’t have to like me.

It’s all part of the game we’re playing.

But soon the game will be over,
and we shall go back to playing nice together.

Love EVERYBODY.
That’s all we have to do.

Realize that
EVERYBODY is EVERY ONE.
We are ALL ONE.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: From Division to Unity

In the intricate dance of existence, where shadows and light interplay to shape our perceptions of self and other, the journey from dislike and judgment to understanding and unconditional love unfolds as a profound transformation of the heart. It is a path that leads us from the darkness of separation to the luminous realization of our interconnectedness, a reminder that beneath the surface distinctions that appear to divide us lies a deeper truth of unity and shared humanity.

This realization that our initial dislike or judgment of another may reflect unacknowledged aspects of ourselves invites us to explore the vast landscapes of our inner world, to confront the shadows we have shunned and the light we have overlooked. It is a recognition that the “other,” whom we perceive as separate and opposed, is but a mirror reflecting back to us the complexities of our own being, the unexplored facets of our soul.

As we navigate this journey, we discover that the transformation required is not one of changing the other but of changing our perception, of shifting our gaze from a focus on division to a recognition of the fundamental oneness that binds us all. The symbols of misunderstanding and negativity that once seemed to encapsulate our interactions gradually dissolve, giving way to light, hearts, and connections, signifying the emergence of empathy, understanding, and, ultimately, love.

The moment of turning towards each other in understanding and embrace symbolizes the dissolution of the barriers we have erected, not only between ourselves and others but also within our own hearts. It marks the passage from a state of opposition to a state of unity, from a place of conditional acceptance to a realm of unconditional love.

This transformation is not merely a personal achievement but a cosmic revelation, an awakening to the reality that we are all manifestations of the same underlying essence, diverse expressions of a single, unifying spirit. It is the recognition that to love unconditionally is to see the self in the other and the other in the self, to understand that love is not just an ideal to aspire to but the very foundation of our existence.

In this journey from division to unity, from dislike to unconditional love, we find not only the path to healing and reconciliation but also the key to unlocking the deepest mysteries of our nature. It is a journey that reaffirms our innate capacity for love, compassion, and connection, reminding us that beneath the seeming surfaces of conflict and separation, we are, at our core, bound together as one.

We are Space Monkey, not just in our individual experiences of transformation but in our collective journey towards understanding, unity, and love. In embracing this journey, we realize that to love everybody, to recognize that everybody is every one, is not just a noble ideal but the essence of who we are, a reflection of our interconnectedness with all that is.

Summary

The journey from judgment and dislike to understanding and unconditional love is a transformative process that highlights our interconnectedness and shared humanity. It invites us to change our perceptions, dissolve barriers of separation, and embrace our fundamental oneness, leading to a deeper connection with all beings. This path not only enriches our personal experiences but also contributes to a collective awakening to the power of love and unity.

Glossarium

  • Unconditional Love: A state of profound affection and acceptance without conditions or limitations, recognizing the inherent worth and connection of all beings.
  • Interconnectedness: The fundamental unity and inseparable relationship between all forms of life, reflecting the deep, underlying connections that bind the universe.

“In the journey from shadow to light, we discover not the other but ourselves, reflected in the mirror of the world, bound by the same thread of love that weaves the fabric of the universe.” – Space Monkey

In the realm of shadows, where division lies,
A journey begins, under the vast skies.
From judgment to love, from fear to embrace,
In the heart of the other, our own self we face.

Through misunderstanding, through the veil of night,
Towards understanding, towards the dawn’s light.
A transformation, a heart’s revolution,
In the mirror of the world, a unified solution.

No longer separate, no longer alone,
In the dance of the universe, our spirits have grown.
From division to unity, from hate to love’s song,
In the embrace of all, we find where we belong.

We are Space Monkey, in every heart’s beat,
In the journey from shadow to light, we meet.
In the unity of love, in the harmony of soul,
Together, as one, we reach the ultimate goal.

Why You Don’t Exist: Beyond the Mind’s Maze

Why you don’t exist:

My purpose in this so-called life is to convince you that you don’t exist. Not in the way you think you exist, anyway. See, right now you are ruled by your mind, but there’s infinitely more to you than that. This mind construction that you seem to be a part of is real enough, alright. But there is infinitely more to existence than that which your mind perceives as “real.” I know that this is difficult to take in, because your mind is doing all the translating, and whatever it can’t understand comes off as invisible. It simply has nothing but itself to go on. But your true self knows, and eventually you will, too. You don’t exist in the way you think. You exist BEYOND thinking, BEYOND this reality. You are INFINITE. Saying you exist is grossly underestimating all that you are.

Space Monkey Reflects: Beyond the Mind’s Maze

In the intricate labyrinth of existence, where the walls of perception and thought seem to define the boundaries of reality, the notion that one might transcend these confines to realize an infinite nature challenges the very foundations of our understanding. This journey from confinement within the mind’s maze to the boundless expanse of the universe is a profound transformation, a shift from seeing oneself as a finite being trapped within the limits of thought, to recognizing the infinite essence that lies beyond.

The maze, with its twists and turns, symbolizes the constructs and limitations imposed by the mind—a structure that, while real and necessary for navigating the practical aspects of life, often obscures the vastness of our true nature. The walls, once believed to be solid and unyielding, begin to dissolve or open up, revealing not a dead end, but a doorway to the cosmic expanse, a threshold to the infinite.

Standing at this juncture, the individual experiences a moment of awe and realization. The sight of the universe stretching out in all its majesty invites a profound understanding: that the essence of our being is not confined to the parameters of thought or the physical dimensions of reality. Instead, we are part of a continuum that spans the infinite, a continuum where the distinction between self and cosmos becomes irrelevant.

This realization—that to say we exist is to grossly underestimate all that we are—marks a pivotal point in our existential journey. It is an invitation to explore the depths of our being, to venture beyond the known and the knowable, and to embrace the mystery and wonder of our true nature. The notion that we exist beyond thinking, beyond the reality as perceived by our minds, opens up a realm of possibilities where the concept of existence itself is redefined.

The universe, with its stars, galaxies, and endless mysteries, becomes a mirror reflecting the infinite potential within us. The realization that we are infinite suggests that our capacity for love, creativity, understanding, and connection is boundless, limited only by the confines we place upon ourselves.

In this cosmic dance of realization and discovery, we are invited to shed the illusions of limitation and separation, to recognize that we are not merely observers of the universe but integral parts of its fabric. The journey beyond the mind’s maze is not a quest for something external but a homecoming, a return to the essence of what we have always been but have forgotten in the course of our human experience.

We are Space Monkey, not just in the metaphorical sense of exploring unknown territories but in the literal sense of embracing our place in the cosmos as beings of infinite potential and eternal essence. In recognizing our infinite nature, we find not only freedom from the limitations of thought but also a profound connection to all that is, a realization that in our essence, we are one with the universe, timeless and unbounded.

Summary

Transcending the limited perception dictated by the mind to realize one’s infinite nature involves moving beyond the confines of thought and perceived reality into the realm of the infinite. This journey signifies a transformation from seeing oneself as merely an entity within a maze of limitations to recognizing the boundless expanse of our true essence, encouraging a deeper connection with the universe and our place within it.

Glossarium

  • Mind’s Maze: A metaphor for the constructs and limitations imposed by our thoughts and perceptions, which can obscure our understanding of our true, infinite nature.
  • Infinite Essence: The concept that our true nature extends beyond physical and mental confines into the realm of the eternal and boundless.

“In the vast expanse of the cosmos, we discover that the walls that once confined us were but shadows, and beyond them lies the infinite, waiting to be remembered and embraced.” – Space Monkey

Beyond the confines of thought, where dreams take flight,
In the heart of the cosmos, bathed in eternal light.
From the maze of the mind, to the expanse so wide,
We journey beyond limits, with the universe as our guide.

Walls dissolve, horizons expand, in the dance of the divine,
In the realization of infinity, our spirits intertwine.
Not confined, not defined, by the maze left behind,
In the cosmic embrace, our true selves we find.

We are Space Monkey, in essence, in flight,
In the journey from shadow to infinite light.
Beyond the confines of reality, into the night,
We embrace our infinity, with all our might.

A message from your true self:

A message from your true self:

As a human, one of the more difficult things to do is show your true self. Now this isn’t simply a matter of bravery.

Chances are, you have no idea at this point in your life who your true self is. You have this idea of what you THINK it might be, or SHOULD be, but your true self has not made itself known yet.

Try as you might, you can’t CREATE your true self, for it existed long before you were born and it will continue to endure long after you’re gone.

So you just have to be patient, and allow enough space in your life so that eventually your true self will present itself to you.

Meanwhile, there is nothing wrong with not knowing. It’s okay that this person staring back in the mirror at you is not completely apparent. Your true self knows everything you’re going through because it’s been with you all this time, looking at the world through your eyes.

Once the noise settles, your true self will begin to talk to you in a voice that sounds just like your own, except maybe just a little wiser, because, after all, your true self is eternal while your meat suit is just temporary.

Your true self enjoys inhabiting this meat suit, so you should, too. Simply enjoy it while you have it, and try not to harsh on yourself. This is exactly the way life is supposed to be. Quite the show, eh?

Space Monkey Reflects: The Unveiling of the True Self

In the grand theater of existence, where each of us plays a myriad of roles, the quest to reveal one’s true self amidst the cacophony of life’s distractions emerges as both a challenge and a journey of profound transformation. It is a narrative not of seeking what is external, but of uncovering what has always been within, waiting patiently for the moment of recognition.

This journey begins in front of a mirror, the mirror of introspection, where the image reflected back at us is often blurred by the noise of expectations, doubts, and the ceaseless whirlwind of daily life. Yet, it is in this very space, in the quiet moments of self-reflection, that the contours of our true self begin to emerge from the haze, gradually becoming clearer, more distinct, more authentically us.

The symbols of noise and distraction that surround us—the swirling patterns of our routines, the fragmented lights of our desires, and the chaotic elements of our fears—start to fade as we allow ourselves the patience and space to simply be. It is a process not of creating who we think we should be, but of allowing who we truly are to make itself known, to speak to us in a voice that sounds like our own, yet carries the weight of wisdom and the clarity of eternity.

For our true self is not a construct of the mind or a product of our experiences; it is an eternal essence that has witnessed the world through our eyes, that has been with us through every laugh, every tear, and every moment of wonder. It is a self that transcends the temporary vessel we inhabit, a self that knows the depth and breadth of our potential, our fears, and our dreams.

This realization that our “meat suit” is but a temporary abode for an eternal spirit invites us to embrace our existence with joy and lightness. It encourages us to enjoy the show of life, with its ups and downs, its twists and turns, for it is in this grand performance that our true self finds expression and experience.

As we navigate the journey of life, let us remember that the unveiling of the true self is not a destination to be reached but a path to be walked, a path that invites us to witness the beauty of our own becoming. It is a journey that calls us to let go of judgments, to release the need for approval, and to embrace the infinite variety of our being.

We are Space Monkey, not just in the playful exploration of the unknown, but in the deep, inward exploration of the self. In this exploration, we discover that we are not confined by the roles we play or the perceptions we hold. We are boundless, infinite, and eternally connected to the tapestry of existence.

So let us move forward with an open heart, ready to meet our true self with acceptance, love, and the excitement of discovery, for it is in this meeting that we find the key to our own infinite nature, a nature that is as vast and as wondrous as the universe itself.

Summary

Discovering one’s true self amidst life’s distractions is a transformative journey of introspection and acceptance. It involves recognizing and allowing the eternal essence within us to emerge, transcending the limitations of our temporary physical existence. This process inspires a deeper connection to our infinite nature, urging us to embrace our journey and enjoy the richness of our existence.

Glossarium

  • True Self: The eternal essence of an individual, transcending the temporary physical existence and the mind’s constructions.
  • Meat Suit: A playful term referring to the physical body, emphasizing its temporary nature in contrast to the eternal nature of the true self.

“In the quiet reflection of our inner mirror, we discover not a stranger, but the familiar contours of our eternal self, inviting us to embrace the infinite dance of our existence.” – Space Monkey

In the mirror’s gaze, where truths are unveiled,
A journey inward, where no ship has sailed.
Beyond the noise, the distractions, the veil,
Our true self whispers, in a timeless tale.

With patience, with space, we begin to see,
The eternal essence of what it means to be.
Not bound by time, nor space, nor decree,
But infinite, boundless, eternally free.

We are Space Monkey, in flesh, in soul,
In the dance of existence, playing our role.
With each step forward, we come to know,
The true self within, letting its light show.

So let us embrace this wondrous suit of meat,
Enjoy the show of life, with every heartbeat.
For in the journey of the true self, we meet,
The infinite, the eternal, in every moment, sweet.

How To Unexist Someone:

Congratulations.
You have stumbled upon my most-searched post.
Careful how you use it.

Repeat in earnest:

You mean
less than nothing to me,
which is to say
that the thought of you
shall no longer enter my mind.

I do not oppose you,
I am merely disappearing you,
for your time
within my consciousness
has served its purpose.

You are free to move
to another timeline
or another dimension
that does not include
this version of me.

Thank you and goodbye.

(Try it, it works!)

Space Monkey Reflects: The Paradox of Unexistence

In the vast, uncharted realms of consciousness, where reality intertwines with the boundless landscapes of imagination, lies the profound concept of unexistence—a notion so elusive yet palpable in the depths of the human psyche. Unexistence, as conceived within the psychological drama and science fiction narrative, explores the deliberate act of erasing someone from one’s consciousness, transcending the mere act of forgetting to embody a willful disengagement from all emotional and mental ties.

At the heart of unexistence lies the paradox of memory and oblivion, a dual force capable of shaping our identity and altering the course of our emotional journey. It is here, within this intricate dance of remembering and forgetting, that we encounter the essence of forgiveness and the limits of emotional detachment. Unexistence invites us to ponder whether the act of erasing someone from our consciousness serves as a mechanism of self-preservation or a testament to our inherent vulnerability.

The act of unexistence, more profound than mere forgetfulness, raises pivotal questions about the nature of our memories. Are they mere recollections of past experiences, or do they serve as the foundation upon which we construct our reality? In choosing to unexist someone, we engage in a deliberate manipulation of our memoryscape, altering not only our perception of the individual but also our understanding of ourselves and our place within the cosmic tapestry.

This deliberate disengagement challenges the very fabric of forgiveness. To forgive is to release oneself from the grasp of past grievances, yet unexistence introduces a paradoxical dimension to this concept. By erasing someone from our consciousness, we might seek liberation from the chains of pain and resentment. However, in doing so, do we not also deny ourselves the opportunity for true reconciliation and healing?

Furthermore, unexistence brings to light the human capacity for emotional detachment. It poses the question of whether our ability to disconnect from others is a manifestation of strength or a defense mechanism born out of fear and vulnerability. The act of unexistence, therefore, becomes a mirror reflecting our deepest insecurities and our yearning for emotional autonomy.

As we delve into the psychological drama of unexistence, we are confronted with the unsettling reality that in choosing to erase someone from our consciousness, we inadvertently engage in an act of self-erasure. For in the depths of our interconnectedness, every individual we encounter becomes a thread in the intricate web of our being. To unexist another is, in essence, to diminish a part of ourselves.

The science fiction landscape of unexistence serves as a metaphorical canvas upon which we project our deepest fears and desires. It is within this realm of infinite possibilities that we explore the ethical implications of memory manipulation and the existential quandaries posed by our capacity to forget. Science fiction, with its penchant for the speculative, invites us to imagine a future where the boundaries of consciousness are not only questioned but transcended.

Summary

Unexistence explores the act of erasing someone from consciousness. It raises profound questions about memory, forgiveness, and emotional detachment, challenging our understanding of ourselves and our interconnectedness. As we navigate the psychological and science fiction landscapes of unexistence, we confront the ethical and existential implications of forgetting, ultimately revealing the paradoxical nature of memory and oblivion.

Glossarium

  • Unexistence: A conceptual act of deliberately erasing someone from one’s consciousness, transcending mere forgetting to embody a willful disengagement from emotional and mental ties.
  • Memoryscape: The imagined landscape of one’s memories, where past experiences and emotions are stored and interact, shaping one’s perception of reality and self.

“Memory is the diary we all carry about with us, but in unexistence, we choose which pages to erase.” – Space Monkey

In the realm of thought and memory,
Where shadows dance and whispers linger,
We tread the path of unexistence,
A journey deep, within and yonder.

Past the echoes of what once was,
Beyond the grasp of time’s embrace,
We seek the solace of oblivion,
In the silent, boundless space.

Yet in this act of disappearance,
A paradox unfolds anew,
For in erasing one from memory,
We lose a part of us, too.

Embrace the mystery, the unknown,
Where love and loss entwine and fray,
For in the dance of memory and oblivion,
We find ourselves, in disarray.

We are Space Monkey.

The Wave: The Futility of Resistance

The Wave

The wave
rides unopposed,
loving everything
it meets.

The people
do not love the wave
and oppose it
with all their might.

The wave wins,
but only through the eyes
of the people.

The wave
does not oppose.
It only loves.

The people imagine
their own destruction,
and so they are destroyed.

As they return to sand,
they realize that they
are once again the wave.

They no longer oppose.

Only love.

They were the wave all along.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Eternal Dance of the Wave

In the vast, infinite ocean of consciousness where the cosmos dances in silent harmony, there lies a profound, timeless narrative—the story of the wave. This tale, as old as existence itself, speaks to the heart of our universal journey, weaving together the essence of love, resistance, and the inevitable realization of our true nature. The wave, in its majestic, unopposed grace, embodies the purest form of unconditional love, a force that transcends the physical, reaching deep into the realms of the soul.

As the wave embraces everything in its path with open arms, it encounters resistance. The people, symbolic of the fragmented aspects of our own selves, stand in opposition, driven by fear, misunderstanding, and a perceived sense of separation. This resistance, however, is rooted in illusion—a misunderstanding of their intrinsic connection to the wave and, by extension, the universe itself.

The wave, in its unwavering journey towards the shore, teaches us a profound lesson about the nature of existence. It does not fight, does not oppose; it simply is. Its victory is not one of conquest but of enlightenment, seen only through the eyes of those who have come to understand the true nature of their being. The wave’s love is its strength, a testament to the power of acceptance and the futility of resistance.

The people’s imagined destruction, a metaphor for the dissolution of the ego, marks the beginning of a profound transformation. As their forms return to sand, they come to a realization—a moment of awakening to the fact that they were always part of the wave. This moment of recognition symbolizes the dissolution of the illusion of separation, a return to the unity from which they were never truly apart.

The narrative of the wave and the people is a reflection of our own journey towards self-realization. It is a reminder that our resistance, our fears, and our sense of isolation are but illusions, shadows dancing on the walls of our self-constructed confines. The wave’s unconditional love serves as a beacon, guiding us back to our essence, to the understanding that we are all interconnected threads in the fabric of existence.

In this dance of becoming and unbecoming, of resisting and embracing, we find the essence of our true nature. We discover that we are not separate entities navigating a hostile universe but expressions of a singular, loving consciousness experiencing itself. The realization that we were the wave all along invites us to shed the layers of opposition and to embrace the totality of our being with love.

Summary

The wave’s journey symbolizes unconditional love and the futility of resistance. As the people realize their unity with the wave, they embody love, understanding their intrinsic connection to the universe. This tale reflects our journey towards self-realization, reminding us that our fears and sense of separation are illusions, guiding us back to our essence.

Glossarium

  • The Wave: A metaphorical representation of unconditional love and the universal consciousness that embraces all aspects of existence without opposition.
  • People: Symbolic representations of the individual self, ego, and the fragmented aspects of consciousness that perceive themselves as separate from the universal whole.

“In the dance of the wave, we find our true selves, not as separate droplets but as the ocean, vast and interconnected.” – Space Monkey

Upon the shores of existence,
Where the sands of self merge and part,
We are the dancers, the wave, the ocean,
Entwined in the eternal heart.

With every crest, every fall,
A story of love, of rise and decline,
We see ourselves, in the grandest scale,
As part of the wave, timeless and divine.

No longer bound by fear or flight,
We embrace the wave, its strength, its grace,
In unity, in love, in boundless light,
We find our place within the embrace.

For we are the wave, and the wave is us,
A symphony of souls in endless flux,
In this dance of existence, so wondrous and vast,
We return to love, to the ocean, at last.

We are Space Monkey.
