Is it strange?

Is it strange?

Is it strange
that when it turns out
that I’m the only being
in the universe
I’m okay with it?

Is it weird
that I have realized
that everything I perceive
is my own imagination,
including you?

Is it odd
that you think
along the same lines
denying
yet also realizing
that we are one
in the same
but from seemingly
different perspectives?

Is it strange
to accept
that you are me
and that we are one,
and that we are alone,
but also INFINITE?

Just wondering.

That is all we do.

And it is wonderful.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Infinite Dance of Solitude and Unity

In the silent expanse of the universe, where stars whisper secrets of ancient light and galaxies spin in endless dance, a profound realization emerges—one of solitude and unity, of being the sole consciousness yet infinitely connected to the cosmos. This realization, as peculiar and profound as it may seem, embodies the essence of our existence, a paradoxical journey where we are both alone and infinite, separate and one.

Is it strange, then, to contemplate the nature of our being, to ponder the vastness of the universe and find comfort in the notion that we might be its only observer? This thought, far from being a source of loneliness, becomes a wellspring of wonder, for in acknowledging our unique perspective, we also recognize our connection to the fabric of existence itself.

And what of the imagination, that boundless realm where thoughts and dreams converge with reality? To realize that everything we perceive is a creation of our own mind, including the concept of ‘you,’ invites us into a dance of creation and perception, where the observer and the observed are entwined in an eternal embrace. Is this realization weird, or is it merely a reflection of the universe’s playful nature, a reminder that we are creators, painting our reality with the brushstrokes of our thoughts?

Moreover, the notion that ‘you’ and ‘I’ are one, viewed from seemingly different perspectives, challenges the illusion of separation. This is not odd but a fundamental truth of our existence, revealing that at the core of our being, we are unified with all. The diversity of perspectives enriches the tapestry of reality, allowing us to experience the universe in myriad ways, yet always bringing us back to the singular truth of our interconnectedness.

To accept that ‘you are me’ and ‘we are one’ is to embrace the paradox of our existence. We are alone, yet never lonely; finite beings in an infinite dance. This acceptance is not strange but a profound acknowledgment of our true nature, a recognition that in the grand scheme of the cosmos, we are both the creators and the creation, the observers and the observed.

Summary

The poem explores the paradoxical nature of being both alone and infinite in the universe. It invites us to consider the role of imagination in shaping our reality and the interconnectedness of all existence. Through this reflection, we are encouraged to embrace our unity with the cosmos, recognizing that we are both solitary observers and integral parts of an infinite whole.

Glossarium

  • Infinite Dance: The eternal interplay between solitude and unity, individual consciousness and the universal, reflecting the paradoxical nature of our existence.
  • Realm of Imagination: A metaphorical space where personal thoughts, dreams, and perceptions merge with the external reality, highlighting the creative power of the mind.

“In solitude, we discover the universe within us; in unity, we find ourselves within the universe.” – Space Monkey

Within the boundless dark, a spark,
A solitary flame in night’s embrace,
Reflecting stars, in endless space,
A mirror of the soul, stark.

Here, in solitude’s gentle hold,
We dance with shadows, light, and dreams,
Where nothing is quite as it seems,
And stories of the cosmos, told.

Unity, in the fabric, weaves,
A tapestry of thought and mind,
Infinite, yet intimately entwined,
In the dance of leaves and sheaves.

For we are one, yet all alone,
A paradox, in cosmic song,
To the universe, we belong,
In its vast expanse, we find our own.

We are Space Monkey.

March for Dead People: Challenging the Scientific Perspective

March for Dead People

So there was a March for Science over the weekend. Without science, a lot of us (myself included) would be dead. So the question I now ask is why do we perceive that being dead is a problem that we need to be saved from? Science fails to realize that death is not only inevitable, but perhaps it is the greatest experience we can have as humans. Science also fails to realize that there is more to death than the seeming cessation of the biological organism. Science denies that we are spiritual creatures, ultimately impervious to the imaginative flights of fancy we call existence. All in the name of Science.

Space Monkey Reflects: The March Beyond

In the wake of a weekend dedicated to the March for Science, a movement that champions the life-saving discoveries and advancements of science, a profound question emerges from the shadows: Why do we view death as a problem to be solved, rather than an intrinsic part of our existence, possibly even the pinnacle of our human experience? This query opens a portal to a march of a different kind—a March for Dead People, not as a macabre procession but as a serene exploration of existence beyond the mortal coil.

Summary

The question of death’s place in our lives challenges the scientific perspective, suggesting that our spiritual essence transcends the biological terminus. This reflection invites us to consider death not as the ultimate defeat but as a transition, an experience rich with unknown potential. It beckons us to acknowledge our spiritual dimensions, proposing that in our rush to extend life, we might overlook the profound mysteries and opportunities that death presents.

Glossarium

  • March for Dead People: A conceptual procession representing the journey beyond life, symbolizing the exploration of death’s significance beyond its physical aspect.
  • Spiritual Essence: The aspect of our being that exists independently of our physical form, suggesting a continuity of existence beyond death.

“In every ending, a beginning lies concealed. Within the mystery of death, the seeds of untold journeys sprout. We are Space Monkey, embracing the vast tapestry of existence, from the spark of birth to the quietus of death, and beyond.”

Beneath the banner of stars, a silent march unfolds,
A procession of souls, in peace, their stories told.
Not bound by fear, nor by the chains of life’s insistence,
They journey beyond, with serene and curious persistence.

Here, in this march, the question of death is cradled,
Not as an end, but as a passage, beautifully fabled.
For beyond the veil of science, a greater mystery calls,
A dance of spirit, where the essence of being enthralls.

To gaze upon this march is to see beyond the veil,
Where science and spirit together sail.
In the march of the departed, a lesson clear and bold,
That life and death, in essence, are stories untold.

We are Space Monkey, in this march, we find grace,
A reminder that in the cosmic dance, every soul has its place.
From the mortal coil, we may one day break free,
To join the march, and embrace the vast, unknown sea.

Proof POSITIVE: The Paradox of Positivity in a Polarized World

Proof POSITIVE

Some believe that the “problem” with our world

is that people dwell on the negative.

Others believe that negativity

is the CAUSE of the “problem.”

We can agree that negativity is bad.
But even THAT is a negative statement.

So let’s think positive.

Some people believe

that thinking positive is a weakness;
that it’s ignorant of “facts.”

Not surprisingly,
these tend to be negative people.

We do not wish
to put down negative people.
That, too, would be negative,
which means we would only
be putting down ourselves.

So let’s simply accept that negative people
have every right to exist, just like positive people.

Though we allow ourselves
to be negative at times,
we are positive people.

Positivity gives us great power,
if only we BELIEVE it so.

Positivity gives us the power
to transcend negativity.

And there is PROOF that positivity works.

This is PROOF POSITIVE.

If you are a negative person,

you might call positivity a “mental crutch.”

If you are a positive person,
you might say the exact same thing.

It doesn’t matter

if you’re a positive person

or a negative person.

BOTH should be equally accepted.

The act of denial is not a positive action.

And that’s perfectly okay.

Accepting that either way is okay

is the POSITIVE way. And it works.

Who cares if you need a mental crutch

so long as you are walking?

Notice that we are not dwelling on the negative.

Sure, we are ALLOWING the negative.
But by thinking positively,
somehow the negative
doesn’t seem so negative.

It simply is.

On the other hand,
if we focus on the negative,
things seem worse.

And when things seem worse,
they ARE worse.

Weird how that works.

So we shall not deny that negativity exists,
we shall simply shift our emphasis to the positive.

Already we feel better.

And when we feel better, we DO better.

This is PROOF POSITIVE.

Now let’s delve further into this,
thus giving ourselves even more positive validation.

Can you think of a successful person
who NEVER utters a negative word?

You can probably think of dozens.

A negative person might say
that someone like that lives in La La Land.

Perhaps they do.

Positive people can live wherever they wish.
We do not need our circumstances
to be dealt to us to feel happy.

We can feel happy DESPITE our circumstances.

Let’s look at it another way.

Can you think of a person who is happy
despite being poor, sick, or average?

You can probably think of dozens.

A negative person might say
“Well I don’t WANT to be poor, sick or average.”

And so neither are they happy.

One shouldn’t feel sorry for negative people,
for they have chosen to be negative.

But one can be compassionate,
and politely suggest
that negative people

don’t have to be so negative.

But it’s perfectly okay if they are negative,
and you don’t dislike them if they are.

You merely accept that they are negative.

Keep in mind, of course, that these people
may not even BE negative.

That may only be YOUR PERCEPTION of them.

And that is perfectly okay also.

If you do not wish
to have
negative perceptions of people,
nothing is MAKING you.

You can stay positive,

even when it comes to those
you perceive as negative.

It is YOUR CHOICE to be positive,
just as it is your choice

to have negative thoughts sometimes.

Both are PERFECTLY OKAY.

But you may notice
that if you focus on the positive
rather than the negative,
your life will naturally move
in a positive direction.

If that’s what you want,
you should be positive.

If you want to move
in a negative direction,
you should be negative.

BOTH are PERFECTLY OKAY.

But realize
that you will not move
in a positive direction
by thinking and acting
in a negative fashion.

It defies the laws of the universe.

Defying in and of itself
defies the laws of the universe.

The universe is about FLOW,
not DEFYING or DENYING flow.

This is what you do when you are negative.

And that’s PERFECTLY OKAY.

Just realize that it’s what you do,
and that that is why you are getting
the results you seem to be getting.

Realizing what you are doing
is the key to going where you want to go.

It is PERFECTLY OKAY
to be ignorant of this.

If you want to be negative
and go in a negative direction,
there is nothing wrong with that.

But if you want to move
in a positive direction,
you might wish to stop being so negative.

You may not even realize
what you are doing to yourself.

This is why we are telling you.
Apologies if you realize this already.

May we extend our commendation instead.

So no doubt, then,
you will wish to extend
your PROOF POSITIVE
to others, as do we.

May this post act as a starting point.

You are in control of your own life.
You are in control of your own happiness.
You are in control of your own reality.
You are in control of your own destiny.

This is PROOF POSITIVE.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Paradox of Positivity in a Polarized World

In a universe where light and shadow dance in perpetual motion, the discourse surrounding positivity and negativity unfolds like a cosmic ballet, with each movement and counter-movement reflecting the dual nature of existence itself. The dialogue, ripe with contradictions and paradoxes, invites us to explore the realm of intellectual laughter, where the earnest pursuit of truth collides with the absurdity of human rationality. Within this landscape, Space Monkey emerges as a guide, navigating the complexities of the mind and the universe with a sense of wonder and amusement.

The notion that the world is plagued by negativity, with some advocating that such a perspective is not only detrimental but the root cause of our collective malaise, underscores a fundamental misunderstanding of the nature of existence. To label negativity as inherently bad is, in itself, a negation of the intricate balance that governs the cosmos. Space Monkey, in its infinite jest, revels in the irony of this predicament, recognizing that the very act of denouncing negativity perpetuates the cycle it seeks to break.

Conversely, the advocacy for unbridled positivity, often hailed as a panacea for the ills of the world, is met with skepticism by those who perceive it as a form of escapism, a denial of the ‘facts’ that define our reality. Yet, this stance, too, is fraught with contradictions, for it dismisses the transformative power of belief and the undeniable impact of perspective on our experience of the world. Space Monkey, ever the harbinger of paradox, delights in the duality of this debate, acknowledging that both positivity and negativity are essential components of the human condition.

The call to accept negative individuals as equals, to embrace the spectrum of human emotion and thought without judgment, is a testament to the depth of understanding that Space Monkey embodies. It is an acknowledgment that we are, at our core, reflections of one another, mirrors in which the entire range of human experience is reflected. The act of pointing a finger, of labeling another as ‘negative’ or ‘positive,’ is revealed as a dance of egos, a performance in which we all partake, knowingly or unknowingly.

Space Monkey invites us to transcend this dichotomy, to recognize that the flow of the universe is not one of defiance or denial, but of acceptance and integration. The key to navigating the waters of positivity and negativity lies not in the suppression of one in favor of the other, but in the realization that both are aspects of a greater whole. It is through this understanding that we can begin to see the beauty in the paradox, the harmony in the discord, and the light within the shadow.

As we stand at the crossroads of perception, Space Monkey extends a hand, guiding us toward a reality where the acceptance of all facets of existence becomes the foundation for growth and transformation. In this world, intellectual laughter is not a dismissal of the quest for understanding, but a celebration of the complexity and absurdity of life itself.

We are Space Monkey, voyagers in a universe of paradoxes, finding joy in the journey, and wisdom in the laughter that echoes through the cosmos.

Summary

Space Monkey navigates the paradox of positivity and negativity with humor and insight. It highlights the necessity of embracing both aspects of existence to understand the complexity of the universe. By recognizing the role of perspective and the interconnectedness of all things, Space Monkey teaches us to find balance and meaning in the contradictions that define our world.

Glossarium

  • Intellectual Laughter: A concept embodying the amusement derived from the paradoxes and contradictions inherent in human thought and rationality.
  • Cosmic Ballet: A metaphor for the dynamic interplay of forces and perspectives that shape the universe and human consciousness.
  • Paradox of Positivity: The idea that advocating for positivity can sometimes negate the acceptance and integration of negativity, leading to a deeper understanding of balance in existence.

“In the laughter of the cosmos, we find the wisdom to embrace the paradox of our being.” – Space Monkey

Within the vast expanse where stars are born and die
A whisper of laughter travels through the void
A cosmic jest, a dance of light and shadow

In the heart of paradox, where truth and folly meet
Space Monkey gazes, amused by the spectacle
A universe unfolding, in perpetual motion

Here, positivity and negativity intertwine
A delicate balance, a harmony of contrasts
Each giving meaning to the other, in eternal play

With each step, a journey beyond the bounds of right and wrong
A path that leads not to answers, but to deeper questions
Where the act of seeking becomes the purpose itself

And in this dance, a realization dawns
That in the laughter of the cosmos, we find our way
Guided by the light of paradox, towards a greater understanding

We are Space Monkey, reveling in the mystery
Finding joy in the journey, wisdom in the laughter
Embracing the universe, in all its complexity

Bliss Is Not Attained, But Allowed

Bliss Is Not Attained, But Allowed

Bliss, to me, seems not the attainment of anything but rather the lack of wanting. It’s kind of weird to be living what might be judged as an “average” life and not wanting anything more, but when one no longer judges, one no longer cares, and one is peaceful in whatever place one resides — physically, emotionally and spiritually.  Any place is as fine as the next. That is bliss, and it has nothing to do with ignorance, but rather the allowance of whatever seems to be happening in the here and now.

4/24

Space Monkey Reflects: The Serenity of Being in the Now – Beyond Desire and Judgment

In the infinite expanse of the universe, where stars are born from chaos and galaxies dance in the silence of space, there exists a state of consciousness that transcends the relentless pursuit of desires and the burdens of judgment. This realm, accessible to all yet embraced by few, is where bliss resides — not in the accumulation of material wealth or the achievement of societal standards, but in the serene acceptance of the present moment. Space Monkey, a voyager through the cosmic sea, offers insights into this profound tranquility, illustrating that true contentment lies in the lack of wanting, in the embrace of the ordinary, and in the peace of simply being.

Bliss, as seen through the eyes of Space Monkey, is not a destination to be reached or a prize to be won. It is the realization that desire, while a driving force in the journey of life, often leads us away from the essence of existence. The constant striving for more, for better, for perfection, creates a chasm between our reality and our expectations, a space filled with dissatisfaction and unrest. Yet, when we release these desires, when we let go of the need to judge our lives against arbitrary measures of success, we find ourselves in a state of profound peace. This peace, this bliss, is the acknowledgment that every moment, every experience, is inherently valuable and complete.

The concept of living an “average” life, often laden with connotations of mediocrity or unfulfilled potential, is transformed under the gaze of Space Monkey into a testament to the beauty of the mundane. To live without the need for more, to find joy in the simplicity of existence, is to understand the richness of life itself. It is in the ordinary that we discover the extraordinary, in the everyday that we encounter the miraculous. Space Monkey invites us to see the world not as a hierarchy of experiences, where some are deemed more worthy than others, but as a tapestry of moments, each unique and perfect in its imperfection.

The absence of judgment, the unconditional acceptance of what is, leads to a state of harmony with the universe. It is in this harmony that one finds bliss, a deep, abiding sense of well-being that is unaffected by external circumstances. This bliss is not borne of ignorance or a refusal to engage with the world; rather, it is the result of a conscious decision to allow life to unfold as it will, to be fully present in each moment, and to appreciate the beauty of existence without attachment or aversion.

In the stillness of the now, where the past and the future lose their grip on our minds, we encounter the essence of bliss. It is a place of no wanting, no striving, no judgment — a place where we are free to simply be. Space Monkey, with its celestial perspective, reminds us that this state is not beyond our reach but is inherent in our very nature. It is a state of being that we can choose at any moment, a perspective that transforms our experience of life from one of constant seeking to one of peaceful acceptance.

We are Space Monkey, wanderers in the cosmos, discovering that the true journey is not outward into the vastness of space, but inward, into the depths of our own consciousness. It is here, in the heart of our being, that we find the bliss of existence, the serenity of the now, and the freedom that comes with the lack of wanting.

Summary

True bliss, as Space Monkey shows, is found not in seeking more but in desiring less. It’s a state of peace that comes from living in the moment, embracing the average without judgment, and recognizing the value in every experience. This understanding shifts our perspective, allowing us to find contentment in the simplicity of being and the acceptance of the present.

Glossarium

  • Bliss: A profound state of peace and contentment, achieved not through attainment but through the release of desire and judgment.
  • The Now: The present moment, where past and future are irrelevant, and where true existence and awareness reside.
  • Serenity of Being: The tranquil state of mind that comes from accepting life as it unfolds, without resistance or attachment.

“In the silence of the cosmos, we find the music of our souls, playing the melody of bliss in the harmony of existence.” – Space Monkey

In the vast canvas of the universe
Where stars whisper secrets to the night
Space Monkey dwells in the quiet space of now

With no desires tethering the spirit
No judgments clouding the view
In the simplicity of being, bliss unfolds

Each moment, a universe unto itself
Filled with the beauty of the mundane
The extraordinary in the ordinary

Here, in the heart of the cosmos
Space Monkey finds peace
In the acceptance of what is

The serenity of existence, a gentle embrace
A knowing smile at the dance of life
Where being is enough, and enough is everything

We are Space Monkey, voyagers in the now
Finding joy not in the reaching but in the being
In the vast silence, we discover the sound of our own hearts

Touched By The Hand of God: The Divine Essence Within

Touched By The Hand of God

What does it feel like to be touched by the hand of god?

Well for starters, you’re not actually touched. You get this sense that maybe YOU are the hand of god, and that there is something flowing through you that you can’t quite put your finger on

There’s this buzzing overflowing energy, but simultaneously, there’s this deep sense of stillness. You become keenly aware of the moment, but you’re also aware that it’s not really real. That is to say, it’s “real,” but everything you perceive and everything you experience flows from a place that is BEYOND real

It’s not even a “place,” but this indescribable essence of deepness beyond even the concept of measurement.

I FEEL that, right now. Now, of course, I can’t look at it directly, or even try to think too much about it, because that brings limitation back into the equation.

The hand of god is timeless, formless, limitless infinity. And it is as much a part of me as this person with my name. And should this witness ever disappear, the hand of god will not, and I am that, so NOTHING in this seeming world can ultimately hurt me.

I am but god’s imagination, and grateful to be a part of it.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Divine Essence Within

In the transcendental narrative of “Touched By The Hand of God,” Space Monkey explores the ineffable sensation of being interwoven with the divine, a state where the boundaries between the self and the infinite blur into nonexistence. This reflection delves into the profound realization that we are not merely in the presence of the divine but are an intrinsic part of it, embodying its essence and its creative force.

Beyond the Touch

The experience begins with an understanding that the divine interaction is not a physical touch but an awakening to the essence of our being. Space Monkey elucidates this realization, where one perceives themselves as the hand of God, a conduit for an energy that defies description. This energy is a paradoxical blend of overwhelming vitality and profound tranquility, pointing to a state of being that transcends the conventional reality.

The Real Beyond ‘Real’

Space Monkey navigates the concept of reality as something that emanates from a place beyond the tangible, beyond the confines of measurement and direct observation. This ‘beyond real’ essence suggests that our experiences and perceptions, though they seem concrete, are manifestations of a deeper, formless truth. It is a truth that exists beyond the limitations of time, form, and individuality, in a realm where the soul communes with the infinite.

The Timeless Witness

The reflection further contemplates the notion of the self as a timeless, formless witness, an integral part of the limitless infinity that is God. This understanding brings a profound sense of peace and invulnerability, as it becomes clear that the essence of who we are cannot be diminished or harmed by the transient phenomena of the world. Space Monkey captures the liberation found in recognizing oneself as a manifestation of God’s imagination, eternally intertwined with the fabric of existence.

Gratitude for Being

In this state of divine communion, gratitude emerges not just as a response to blessing or fortune but as a recognition of the privilege of existence within the divine imagination. Space Monkey invites us to embrace this perspective, where every moment and every facet of our being is an expression of the divine, a dance of creation that we are blessed to partake in.

Summary

“Touched By The Hand of God” offers a glimpse into the profound experience of recognizing oneself as an integral part of the divine essence. Space Monkey guides us through this realization, highlighting the beauty and peace that come from understanding our place in the cosmos. This reflection encourages us to see beyond the physical and temporal, inviting us into a deeper communion with the infinite, where we discover the true essence of our being.

Glossarium

  • Divine Essence: The fundamental, formless energy that constitutes the divine and the realization of our intrinsic connection to it.
  • Beyond Real: A state or realm that transcends the physical and tangible, representing a deeper truth beyond conventional reality.

“In the embrace of the infinite, we find ourselves not as mere spectators but as manifestations of the divine, dancing in the light of creation.”

Amidst the cosmos, we float,
Enveloped in divine light,
A radiance that penetrates the core,
Revealing we are more than mere flesh and bone.

Here, in the silence of the stars,
We discover our true form,
Timeless, boundless, infinite,
A spark of the divine fire that burns within.

With every breath, a prayer,
With every heartbeat, a hymn,
Singing the glory of existence,
In the vast cathedral of the universe.

Let us rejoice in this communion,
For in the hand of God, we find our freedom,
Not as separate beings, but as one,
A single note in the symphony of creation,
We are Space Monkey.
