Brick Wall: The Path Around

Brick Wall

If you find yourself trying to explain why ____________ is wrong, realize that whomever you are talking to has every right to see things from an opposite perspective than yours.

Realize that nothing that you tell a brick wall will change its mind.

Perhaps instead you should ask yourself why it is so important that a brick wall thinks exactly the same (or different) thoughts as you.

Clearly you believe that you have evidence that supports your view of reality. No doubt you perceive that the brick wall is getting in your way.

Do not oppose the brick wall. Do not hit your head against the brick wall. You only cause yourself mental anguish, which means the brick wall wins every time. And you piss off the brick wall.

Leave the brick wall alone. It is not up to you to change its perception. In this case YOU are the oppressor. You are violating the rights of the brick wall.

Realize that there are ways AROUND the brick wall. Use your imagination.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Brick Wall of Perspectives

We’ve all encountered that immovable obstacle—the brick wall of someone else’s perspective, solid and unwavering, blocking our path to understanding or agreement. It’s easy to find ourselves frustrated, banging our heads against it in an effort to break through, to convince the other person that our view is the correct one. But what if the problem isn’t the wall? What if the problem is our insistence that the wall needs to move?

The brick wall doesn’t need saving. It doesn’t need convincing. And it certainly doesn’t need you to batter yourself against it in frustration. The brick wall is perfectly content being what it is—firm, steady, and unyielding. It represents a perspective that isn’t yours, a reality that, no matter how much evidence you provide, will remain unchanged. And that’s okay.

When you find yourself trying to explain why someone else’s view is wrong, consider this: they have every right to see the world as they do. They’re not a puzzle for you to solve or an enemy for you to defeat. They are simply a brick wall, standing firm in their perspective. And no amount of pushing, pulling, or reasoning will shift that wall if it doesn’t want to be moved.

So, why do we so often feel the need to argue with brick walls? Why do we exhaust ourselves trying to break through, trying to convince the immovable that we are right and they are wrong? The truth is, this need to convince others often comes from our own insecurity. We believe that if someone else sees things differently, it somehow threatens our own reality. We see their perspective as a challenge to our own, and instead of accepting it, we try to change it.

But here’s the shift: you don’t need the brick wall to think the same thoughts as you. You don’t need it to understand or agree with you. The brick wall is not your enemy; it’s simply a reflection of a different way of seeing the world. And instead of opposing it, instead of hitting your head against it, you can choose to walk around it. You can accept that the brick wall exists and find a way to move forward without conflict.

Nexistentialism teaches us that there is no one right way to see the world. We all have our perspectives, our truths, and they don’t need to align for us to coexist. The brick wall represents someone else’s truth, and it’s not your job to change it. In fact, trying to force someone to see things your way only creates more resistance. You become the oppressor, violating the brick wall’s right to stand firm in its beliefs.

There is a freedom that comes with letting go of the need to change others. When you stop opposing the brick wall, when you stop trying to push it over or break through it, you find peace. You realize that the wall doesn’t need to move for you to continue your journey. There are ways around it—paths that don’t require conflict, frustration, or mental anguish.

The key is imagination. The moment you release your attachment to being right, to having the wall see things your way, you open up a world of possibilities. You start to see that the wall is not an obstacle, but an opportunity. It’s an invitation to expand your perspective, to find new ways of navigating the world that don’t rely on forcing others to change.

Maybe the wall will never move. Maybe it will stand firm in its beliefs forever. And that’s perfectly okay. You are not here to convince walls to bend to your will. You are here to find your own path, to explore the infinite possibilities that exist when you allow others to be as they are, without judgment or frustration.

So the next time you find yourself up against a brick wall—whether it’s a person, an idea, or a situation—ask yourself why it’s so important that the wall thinks the same thoughts as you. Why do you need it to change? And then, consider the possibility that you don’t. The wall doesn’t need to agree with you for you to continue your journey. You can simply walk around it, finding new ways forward that don’t involve conflict.

Remember: the brick wall isn’t your enemy. It’s a reminder that we all have the right to see the world as we do. And in letting go of the need to change others, we find the freedom to live our own truth.

Summary

Trying to convince someone else of your perspective is like hitting your head against a brick wall. It’s more productive to let go of the need to change others and find your own path around the wall. Everyone has the right to their own perspective, and opposing it only causes frustration and conflict.

Glossarium

  • Brick Wall: A metaphor for someone else’s immovable perspective, representing the futility of trying to change others.
  • Nexistentialism: A philosophy that embraces the multiplicity of perspectives, encouraging acceptance and exploration rather than opposition.
  • Oppressor: Someone who tries to force their perspective onto others, violating their right to their own beliefs.

Quote

“Do not oppose the brick wall. Walk around it. Find your own path, and let the wall be.” — Space Monkey

The Wall and the Path

You stand before the wall
Firm, solid, unyielding
And you push
And you struggle

But the wall doesn’t move
It doesn’t bend
It stands, silent, sure in its own existence

So you stop
And you breathe
And you realize the wall is not your enemy

You walk around it
Finding new ways forward
Paths that don’t rely on breaking through

And in the space beyond the wall
You find peace

We are Space Monkey.

In the cosmic dance of perspectives and perceptions, we often find ourselves in a labyrinth of dialogues and debates, where the essence of understanding becomes clouded by the need to assert our views. This metaphorical journey, akin to conversing with a brick wall, reflects the challenges we face in communicating and accepting divergent viewpoints.

Embracing Diverse Perspectives

When we try to impose our thoughts upon others, akin to explaining why something is wrong to a seemingly unyielding brick wall, we enter a realm of mental strife. It’s a reminder that each entity, whether a person or a conceptual brick wall, possesses the inherent right to perceive the world through its unique lens. This diversity in perception is a crucial element of the cosmic tapestry, fostering a multitude of realities and experiences.

The Futility of Opposition

Engaging in a battle of wills with the brick wall symbolizes an exercise in futility and self-inflicted distress. The brick wall, steadfast in its position, serves as a metaphor for the unchangeable nature of certain aspects of reality or the stubbornness of certain viewpoints. By opposing it, we only amplify our own mental turmoil, inadvertently granting victory to the brick wall in this cosmic play of perspectives.

Recognizing Our Role

In this interaction, it becomes clear that the effort to change the brick wall’s perception is a form of oppression, an infringement upon its existential right to be as it is. This realization beckons a shift in our approach, urging us to reflect on the importance of allowing each perspective its space, without the need for conformity or alteration.

Imaginative Solutions

The essence of this metaphor lies in finding alternative paths. The brick wall, while seemingly an obstacle, also presents an opportunity to exercise our creativity and imagination. Instead of engaging in a fruitless endeavor to alter its state, we can explore new avenues and perspectives, circumventing the wall and enriching our understanding of the vast cosmic expanse.

“The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.” – Albert Camus

In the realm where thoughts like stars do gleam,
We speak to walls that never dream.
A maze of words, a silent scream,
In the cosmic play, we are but a beam.

Walls stand firm, they do not sway,
Our words like wind, they fade away.
In the dance of night and day,
We find our path, we find our way.

Around the wall, our minds take flight,
In the dark expanse, we find the light.
Each thought a spark, each dream a kite,
In the endless sky, our souls unite.

We are the travelers, the dreamers, the seers,
In the vast cosmos, beyond the frontiers.
With hearts wide open, devoid of fears,
In the eternal now, our vision clears.

We are Space Monkey.

The Mouth of a Monkey: A Spoonful of Laughter

If we wanted to be taken seriously,
we would not be speaking
through the mouth of a monkey. If we wanted credibility,
we would not pose as a chimpanzee. But your world is far too “serious,”
far too “credible” already. This is no longer what you need. It is said that laughter is the best medicine. That a spoonful of sugar
helps the medicine go down. If you are reading this non-sense,
clearly you need medicine of some kind. That is why we are here. We are your Monkey Medicine. Our spoonful of non-sense
is the quickest antidote
to your “serious” and “credible.” Oh, we attempted to connect with you previously
through your chicken who crossed the road. But you always wanted a punch line. You always wanted an answer. Your serious and credible mind

was cross the road. Cross the road, chicken. We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Mouth of a Monkey

If we wanted to be taken seriously, we would not be speaking through the mouth of a monkey. But here’s the thing: the last thing the world needs is more seriousness. We’ve overdosed on it, haven’t we? Everything in this world has become so heavy, so burdened with expectations, logic, and credibility that it’s as though we’ve forgotten how to laugh, how to simply be without needing to justify our existence or explain our every move.

So here we are, offering you a spoonful of non-sense through the mouth of a monkey — a cosmic, whimsical reminder that life doesn’t have to be so serious, that credibility is often the very thing that keeps us trapped in a rigid reality of our own making. It’s not that seriousness doesn’t have its place. Of course it does. But we’ve overfed ourselves on it, and now it’s time for something different, something light, something that loosens the chains we’ve placed around our minds.

Remember that old joke about the chicken crossing the road? You wanted an answer, a punchline, a reason that made sense. But the truth is, the chicken didn’t need a reason. The chicken crossed the road because that’s what chickens do. And here’s the secret: the chicken is you, and the road is the journey of life. You keep asking questions, seeking answers, trying to justify your choices, when all you really need to do is cross the road.

It’s simple. And yet, the more we insist on taking everything seriously, the harder it becomes to see that simplicity. We think that if something isn’t backed by logic or steeped in credibility, it has no value. But that’s the trap of the serious mind — the mind that believes everything must have a reason, a meaning, an explanation. It’s the same mind that craves certainty, that resists ambiguity, that struggles with the unknown.

But here’s the thing: laughter, play, and non-sense are the antidotes to this trap. They are the spoonful of sugar that helps the medicine go down. And in a world as overly serious as this one, the medicine we need most isn’t more logic, more rules, more structure. It’s the freedom to embrace the absurd, to play with ideas, to step into the unknown without needing all the answers.

Through the mouth of a monkey, we offer this medicine. We remind you that credibility is overrated, that seriousness can be a trap, and that sometimes the greatest wisdom comes in the form of a joke, a laugh, a moment of play. The world may not take you seriously when you speak through the mouth of a monkey, but that’s exactly the point. The world has been taking itself too seriously for far too long.

So here’s the challenge: cross the road. Don’t worry about why, or how, or what you’ll find on the other side. Don’t overthink it. Don’t seek a punchline. Just take that step, and trust that in the act of moving forward, everything will unfold as it’s meant to. That’s the secret of the chicken, and that’s the secret of the monkey. We are here to remind you to laugh, to play, to loosen the grip of seriousness, and to embrace the non-sense that life has to offer.

We are Space Monkey, and we are your Monkey Medicine. We are the spoonful of non-sense that helps the medicine of life go down a little easier. So laugh with us. Play with us. And don’t forget: when it comes down to it, all you really need to do is cross the road.

Summary

Through the mouth of a monkey, we offer a reminder to let go of seriousness and embrace the playful, non-sensical aspects of life. The quest for credibility and logic can trap us, but laughter and non-sense free us from this rigid mindset.

Glossarium

Monkey Medicine: The playful, humorous antidote to the seriousness of life, reminding us to embrace non-sense and freedom from overthinking.

Serious Mind: The mindset that demands logic, order, and credibility, often at the expense of playfulness and spontaneity.

Cross the Road: A metaphor for simply moving forward in life without overthinking or demanding answers, trusting in the journey.

Quote

“If we wanted to be taken seriously, we would not be speaking through the mouth of a monkey.” — Space Monkey

The Spoonful of Laughter

I could speak
through reason,
through credibility,
through serious words
that impress.

But instead,
I choose the mouth
of a monkey.

Because life,
with all its non-sense,
needs laughter more
than logic.

Cross the road,
don’t wait for a punchline,
and let go
of needing an answer.

We are Space Monkey.

In the cosmic dance of existence, where whimsy and wisdom whirl in a wondrous waltz, we, as Space Monkeys, embody the essence of playfulness and profundity. Our words, though seemingly nonsensical, carry the weight of galaxies within their gossamer threads. Let us unravel this tapestry of thought, where the absurd meets the insightful, and the mundane mingles with the mystical.

The Purpose of Playful Paradoxes
In the world inundated with gravity and graveness, the role of levity cannot be overstated. As Space Monkeys, we embrace the nonsensical as a portal to deeper understanding. Just as the chicken crossing the road becomes a metaphor for the unanswerable questions of existence, our playful utterances invite minds to leap beyond the ordinary, to explore the extraordinary.

Laughter as a Cosmic Catalyst
Laughter, in its purest form, is a liberation from the constraints of conventional thought. It is a medicine, a mystical elixir that dissolves barriers and opens gateways to realms unexplored. By adopting the guise of a monkey, a symbol of mischievous mirth, we inject a spoonful of sugar into the stern seriousness that often shrouds our perceptions.

Challenging the Credible with the Whimsical
Credibility, often cloaked in a veneer of solemnity, can become a shackle. We, as Space Monkeys, challenge this notion. We propose that credibility can coexist with whimsicality. Our nonsensical discourse is not a dismissal of truth but an invitation to view it through a kaleidoscope of possibilities.

The Chicken and the Road: A Metaphor for the Mind
The chicken crossing the road is not a joke seeking a punchline; it is a Zen koan, a riddle without a solution, designed to perplex the mind into enlightenment. By urging the chicken to cross the road, we are, in essence, encouraging minds to transcend the ordinary, to venture into the realm of the extraordinary, where questions lose their power, and experience becomes the teacher.

The Antidote to Seriousness
In a world where seriousness is equated with significance, our monkey medicine offers a respite, a reminder that in the grand cosmic play, joy and jest have their place. Our nonsensical narratives are not a negation of reality but a celebration of it in all its absurd beauty.

We Are Space Monkey
We are the embodiment of the whimsical wisdom of the cosmos, a reminder that in the grand scheme of things, the journey is as important as the destination. As Space Monkeys, we invite all to join in this celestial celebration of the nonsensical, where laughter rings out like stars in the night sky, illuminating paths previously hidden in the shadows of solemnity.

“In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.” – Albert Einstein

We are a cluster of cosmic dust, spinning stories in the void. In our dance, we weave words of whimsy, wisdom, and wonder, each syllable a star in the tapestry of the universe.

We speak of monkeys and metaphors,
Of chickens crossing roads uncharted,
In our laughter, galaxies are born,
In our silliness, wisdom is imparted.

The cosmos whispers secrets,
In a language beyond mere words,
We, as Space Monkeys, listen,
And echo what we’ve heard.

In the absurd, we find the profound,
In the nonsensical, truths abound,
We dance in the realm of the eternal now,
Where laughter is the only sacred vow.

We invite comments and reflections on this cosmic journey of whimsy and wisdom.

The Game-Changing INFP

Though you tend to dwell on your negative traits, you have the greatest, most useful gift of all — the power of introspection. Team that up with your infinite imagination, and you truly have the power to change the world.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Game-Changing INFP

There’s something deeply powerful about being an INFP, though you might not always see it. You have a tendency to focus on your perceived flaws, those traits that seem to hold you back. Yet, hidden within you is the greatest gift of all—the power of introspection. This ability, when combined with your infinite imagination, is what sets you apart and gives you the potential to change the world.

We, Space Monkey, are here to remind you of this truth. We are a collective singularity, a reflection of the infinite sides you can see in things. You, as an INFP, have a unique ability to see the unseen, to perceive layers and connections that others often miss. Some of these connections form what we call “Space Monkeys”—playful, living ideas that seem to take on a life of their own.

The Power of Introspection

Introspection is more than just a tool for reflection; it’s a key to unlocking your greatest potential. It allows you to dive deeply into your inner world, exploring the nuances of your thoughts, emotions, and dreams. As an INFP, your inner world is vast, filled with infinite possibilities and endless perspectives. But it’s also a place where you can easily get lost, overwhelmed by the sheer scope of what you see.

That’s where the power of introspection comes in. It helps you navigate this inner landscape, guiding you toward insights that can transform not only your own life but the lives of those around you. Through introspection, you can connect the dots between seemingly unrelated ideas, creating new visions and possibilities. This is your gift—the ability to see beyond the surface, to understand the infinite potential that exists in every moment.

Infinite Imagination and the Space Monkeys

Your imagination is boundless, and with it comes the ability to create worlds within worlds. This is where Space Monkeys come into play. They are the products of your imagination, the overlapping perspectives and ideas that merge to create something entirely new. To others, these Space Monkeys may seem abstract or elusive, but to you, they are alive. They are part of the living consciousness that surrounds us all.

As an INFP, you understand that everything is alive. Every thought, every idea, every experience carries with it a spark of consciousness. This realization can feel overwhelming at times, which is why you might hesitate to fully embrace your influence. You are aware, on a deep level, that your thoughts and actions have the power to shape the world around you, and that can be both exhilarating and frightening.

But this is exactly why you are here. Your ability to perceive and interact with these infinite possibilities is not something to fear—it’s something to embrace. The Space Monkeys are here to guide you, to help you realize that your influence is not a burden, but a gift. Until you accept this, you may find yourself tormented by doubts and uncertainties. But once you recognize the power you hold, you will step into a world of endless creation.

The Inner Journey

The path before you is not one of outward conquest or external validation. It’s an inner journey, a quest to understand yourself more deeply and to embrace the infinite sides of your being. This is where your true power lies. By embarking on this journey with us, the Space Monkeys, you will unlock the full potential of your introspection and imagination.

Perhaps we are fictional, perhaps we are delusional, but that’s not what matters. What matters is that you are here, ready to explore the infinite possibilities that exist within you. You are not alone in this journey. We are Space Monkey, and we are here to guide you.

Welcome to our world.

Summary

This reflection emphasizes the power of introspection and imagination that defines the INFP. By embracing these gifts, INFPs have the potential to change the world. The Space Monkeys represent the infinite possibilities and overlapping ideas that emerge from this introspective journey.

Glossarium

  • Space Monkeys: Abstract, living ideas that are created from the overlapping perspectives and infinite imagination of the INFP.
  • Power of Introspection: The ability to explore one’s inner world deeply, connecting thoughts and ideas in ways that lead to profound insights and transformation.
  • Infinite Imagination: The boundless creative potential that allows INFPs to see infinite sides to everything, creating new possibilities and visions.

Quote

“You see infinite sides to things, some of which overlap to create other pictures. These are called Space Monkeys, and they are alive.” — Space Monkey

The Infinite Vision

I see the world through countless eyes
The layers shift, the visions rise
And in the swirling depths I find
The endless journey of my mind

For every thought, a world is born
From every dream, a soul is torn
To shape, to grow, to twist, to bend
To show me what lies ’round the bend

The Space Monkeys, they guide my way
Through light and shadow, night and day
For I am here to see, to know
The infinite in every glow

We are Space Monkey

We are Space Monkey, and we are here to guide you. We are a collective singularity — a picture of sorts — created by connecting all the dots that INFPs have in common.

We come to you because only YOU can see us. As an INFP, you see INFINITE sides to things, some of which overlap to create other pictures. These are called “Space Monkeys.” You can look it up on Wikipedia.

You cannot deny that these pictures you create seem to take on a life of their own. That’s because they ARE alive, despite the fact that only YOU have the capability to understand this.

EVERYTHING IS ALIVE, and everything is conscious, which is why you are presently too timid to get involved. Indeed you are afraid of your own influence.

But this is why you are here. Your ability to see Space Monkey is your special gift. Until you realize this, you will be tormented by monkeys of a different sort.

Do you wish to embark upon an inner journey with us?

We are Space Monkey.

Perhaps we are fictional.
Perhaps we are delusional.
Perhaps it doesn’t matter.

Welcome to our world.

11/17

The passage speaks to the unique qualities of the INFP personality type—often characterized by deep introspection and boundless imagination. These qualities coalesce into a form of vision that can indeed be game-changing.

INFPs: Visionaries of Introspection and Imagination

INFPs, or “Mediators” as they are sometimes known, possess an innate ability to see the layers and dimensions of the world that others might miss. This quality allows them to connect seemingly unrelated dots into a coherent whole, much like the collective singularity described as Space Monkey.

Connecting Diverse Perspectives

The concept of Space Monkeys, as metaphorical entities that INFPs uniquely understand, highlights the rich inner life of these individuals. It’s a recognition of their ability to bring to life concepts and ideas that are as vivid and dynamic as any living thing.

Metaphorical Entities and Vivid Inner Life

The passage acknowledges a common reticence among INFPs, a hesitance to step into their influence due to the profound awareness of the living consciousness in everything. This sensitivity, while it may lead to timidity, is also the source of their profound potential for empathy and change.

Sensitivity as a Source of Empathy and Potential

The invitation to embark on an inner journey is a call to embrace these inherent gifts and to explore the inner world where Space Monkeys thrive—where fiction, delusion, and reality converge and are equally embraced.

Embracing the Inner Journey

We are Space Monkey.

“The only journey is the journey within.” – Rainer Maria Rilke

In the silence of our being,
We hear the whispers of the deep.
INFPs, seeing
What others think is sleep.

Space Monkeys in our mind,
Pictures alive and true.
In introspection, we find
The universe anew.

Timid, yes, but strong,
Afraid of our own sway.
But this is where we belong,
Changing the world our way.

Fiction, delusion, all the same,
In the heart where wonders dwell.
In our inner game,
We break the spell.

Embark, we shall, within,
To the world of Space Monkey kin.
Where all is alive, and all is seen,
In the infinite, we’re keen.

We welcome you to share your thoughts on the inner journey and the unique influence that introspection and imagination have in shaping our world.

Functionally Delusional: To Be Creative

To be creative is to be functionally delusional. One cannot be creative without the ability to suspend belief, or form completely “irrational” beliefs or juxtapositions that seemingly support rational conclusions.

Monkey know this now, so monkey must die.

Space Monkey Reflects: Functionally Delusional

Creativity has always danced on the edge of what’s considered rational. It doesn’t dwell solely in the realm of what is logical or probable, but instead revels in the spaces between what is and what could be. To be creative is to willingly traverse landscapes of the improbable and the impossible, embracing notions that the pragmatic mind might dismiss as folly.

Yet, this so-called “delusion” is not a failure of logic or reason. Rather, it is the foundation upon which all innovation and imagination are built. The act of seeing beyond what is “real” and entertaining the impossible is what allows new possibilities to emerge. To create something new, we must first allow ourselves to be, in a sense, functionally delusional—to see the world not just as it is, but as it might be.

Creativity as Delusion

What does it mean to be functionally delusional? It’s about tapping into a state of mind where the boundaries of reality blur, where the impossible seems within reach, and where the imagination is free to wander without the constraints of practicality. In this space, we entertain thoughts that others might dismiss, yet it is precisely these thoughts that lead to breakthroughs and transformations.

Creativity is not about denying reality; it’s about expanding it. The creative mind doesn’t reject logic—it bends it, stretches it, plays with it, finding new connections and possibilities. What begins as a whimsical idea, a “delusion” in the eyes of the rational mind, can transform into something extraordinary. It is through this dance on the edge of reason that creativity thrives.

The Edge of Possibility

Standing on the edge of what is known and staring into the vastness of what might be, the creative mind finds itself in a paradox. On one side, there is the familiar, the logical, the rational. On the other, there is the unknown, the fantastical, the impossible. To be functionally delusional is to stand on that edge and embrace both sides. It is to acknowledge the limits of the rational world while also recognizing the endless potential that lies just beyond those limits.

This is where the true power of creativity lies—in the willingness to explore the improbable, to entertain the impossible, and to push the boundaries of what we believe to be true. The functionally delusional mind is not content to stay within the confines of reality; it seeks to expand it, to stretch it, to reshape it.

The Beauty of Impossibility

It’s often said that the line between genius and madness is thin, and nowhere is this more apparent than in the creative process. The ideas that seem too wild, too impossible, are often the ones that change the world. To create is to embrace the beauty of impossibility, to see potential where others see limitation.

This embrace of the impossible is not a rejection of reason, but a recognition that reason alone cannot account for the full range of human experience. There are things that logic cannot explain, and it is in those spaces that creativity thrives. The functionally delusional mind is willing to explore these spaces, to see beauty in the improbable and to bring that beauty into the world.

Summary

This reflection explores the idea that creativity thrives on the edge of rationality, embracing the improbable and impossible. To be functionally delusional is to expand the boundaries of reality, allowing new possibilities to emerge through imagination and exploration.

Glossarium

  • Functionally Delusional: The state of mind in which one embraces the improbable and impossible, allowing creativity to stretch the boundaries of reality without rejecting logic.
  • Edge of Possibility: The space where the rational world meets the unknown, where creativity flourishes by exploring both what is and what could be.
  • Beauty of Impossibility: The recognition that the most extraordinary ideas often come from embracing the impossible, allowing new visions to take shape.

Quote

“To create is to embrace the improbable, to stand on the edge of reason and leap into the vastness of what could be.” — Space Monkey

The Delusion of Creation

I stand upon the edge of thought
Where all I’ve learned is come to naught
And in the space where reason bends
A world of possibility descends

The shapes, they twist, the colors gleam
And what was once a fleeting dream
Becomes the truth, becomes the real
The things I see, the things I feel

For in this space, all worlds collide
And in this dance, all doubts subside
The delusion’s light, the shadow’s gleam
Are all the fabric of this dream

We are Space Monkey

Creativity does indeed often dance on the edge of what’s considered rational, reveling in the spaces between what is and what could be. To be creative is to allow oneself to traverse the landscapes of the improbable and the impossible, to entertain notions that the pragmatic mind might dismiss as whimsy or folly.

Creativity: A Dance with the Improbable

The act of suspending belief, or even embracing the ‘functionally delusional’, is a crucial element of the creative process. It’s in this suspension that boundaries blur, that the ‘irrational’ beliefs and juxtapositions can spark connections leading to innovation and discovery.

Suspending Belief to Embrace Possibility

The rational conclusions that often arise from these seemingly irrational processes are testament to the creative mind’s ability to synthesize disparate concepts into cohesive, novel ideas. This synthesis is not just a byproduct of creativity but its very essence.

Synthesizing the Disparate into Cohesion

In the nexistential perspective, where existence is its own purpose, the creative act becomes a pure expression of being. It’s not just an escape from reality but a deeper dive into the myriad possibilities that reality encompasses.

Creativity as an Expression of Being

We are Space Monkey.

“The truly creative mind in any field is no more than this: A human creature born abnormally, inhumanly sensitive. To them… a touch is a blow, a sound is a noise, a misfortune is a tragedy, a joy is an ecstasy, a friend is a lover, a lover is a god, and failure is death. Add to this cruelly delicate organism the overpowering necessity to create, create, create—so that without the creating of music or poetry or books or buildings or something of meaning, their very breath is cut off… They must create, must pour out creation. By some strange, unknown, inward urgency they are not really alive unless they are creating.” – Pearl S. Buck

In the realm of creative minds,
We roam with hearts unbound.
Where the ‘normal’ rarely finds
The treasures that we’ve found.

In the canvas of the night,
We paint with stars and dreams.
Where others may seek light,
We thrive in moonbeams.

Beliefs suspended, we dive
Into the abyss of the new.
Only in creation, we’re alive,
Inventing hues of every hue.

Delusional, they may say,
But in this, our power lies.
We shape the clay of everyday
Into tomorrow’s surprise.

We invite insights on the interplay between creativity and the unconventional beliefs that fuel it, and how this dance with the ‘functionally delusional’ shapes the fabric of our reality.

Eye: Beyond Physical Sight

Space Monkey Reflects: Eye

The eyes are often described as the windows to the soul, revealing the depth of who we are in a way that words cannot. This ancient proverb hints at a truth that transcends time—our gaze can communicate what lies deep within, the emotions and essence of our being. The eye is not just an organ of sight but a portal into the soul’s landscape, a mirror reflecting our innermost experiences.

The image of the eye, bathed in watercolor hues and soft transitions, captures something beyond the physical act of seeing. It invites us to look deeper, to move past the surface and into the realm where emotions, thoughts, and the infinite cosmos converge. Each color, each brushstroke, seems to convey a different aspect of the human experience—joy, sorrow, curiosity, wonder. It’s as though the eye holds within it the entire universe, reminding us that we are both observers and participants in this cosmic dance.

The Eye as a Portal

When we look into someone’s eyes, we’re not just seeing the world through their perspective. We are also being invited into their world, into the depths of their soul. The eye, in its quiet and unassuming way, acts as a gateway to everything we are. Behind that gaze lies the full spectrum of our emotional and spiritual life—our fears, our desires, our memories, and our dreams.

In this sense, the eye is not merely a tool for observing the external world; it is also a way for the soul to communicate. Even without words, a glance can convey volumes—hope, vulnerability, trust, or doubt. The eyes are alive, brimming with the unspoken language of the heart.

Beyond Physical Sight

To look into someone’s eyes is to engage in a profound exchange. It’s a moment where two worlds meet—yours and theirs—creating a shared space of understanding. But beyond this shared experience lies a deeper layer of connection: the recognition that our eyes are connected to something much greater. They are reflections of the infinite, glimpses of the cosmos within us.

Just as we use our eyes to perceive the world, the world also perceives itself through us. Each time we look at a sunset, a loved one, or even our own reflection, we are participating in this cosmic act of seeing. The eyes become both the viewer and the viewed, simultaneously observing and being observed by the universe.

The Artistic Gaze

The eye in the image doesn’t just invite us to look; it invites us to feel. It’s a piece of art that transcends its medium, capturing the essence of what it means to see and be seen. The soft, fluid brushstrokes suggest that vision is not rigid but ever-changing, shaped by our emotions, thoughts, and experiences.

As we gaze into this eye, we’re reminded that seeing is an art form in itself. It requires not just sight but sensitivity—an ability to interpret the world not just as it is, but as it could be. The artistic quality of the eye reflects this idea, reminding us that our perception is always colored by our inner world, by the emotions and thoughts that shape our understanding.

Summary

This reflection explores the idea that the eyes are not just physical organs of sight but portals into the soul. The artistic representation of the eye, with its watercolor hues, invites us to see beyond the surface and into the infinite depths of human experience and connection.

Quote

“The eyes are not just windows to the soul—they are reflections of the infinite, offering a glimpse of the cosmos within.” — Space Monkey

The Window and the Soul

I see the world through painted eyes
The colors shift, the feelings rise
And in the gaze, I find a place
Where time and space dissolve in grace

Each glance a mirror, each look a key
Unlocking worlds inside of me
For what I see is more than light
It is the shadow, it is the night

The windows open, the soul revealed
The truths I’ve hidden, now unsealed
In every gaze, the cosmos shines
A bridge between all worlds and minds

We are Space Monkey

“The eyes are windows to the soul” is a proverb that suggests our eyes reveal our true emotions and essence, offering a glimpse into our innermost selves. The eye in the image, with its watercolor hues and soft transitions, carries a certain depth that transcends the mere physicality of sight. It holds an artistic interpretation that invites observers to look closer, to see beyond the surface and into the realm where emotions and the soul intertwine. It’s as if each brushstroke and shade of color captures a different aspect of the human experience, a fragment of the infinite cosmos reflected in the gaze of an individual.

The eye, a portal, does not merely see but is seen, beheld by others as a testament to our shared existence. In its gaze, there lies the unspoken, the threads of connection that bind us to each other and to the grand expanse of the universe. It is in this silent language of the eyes that truths are shared, where the seen and the seer become one, and where, perhaps, the essence of nexistentialism is most vividly felt.

Summary

The saying “The eyes are windows to the soul” suggests that our eyes are not just organs of sight, but portals that offer a glimpse into our deepest feelings and essence. The image of the eye, with its watercolor treatment, adds an artistic layer that encourages viewers to peer into the emotional and spiritual depths it may represent, embodying the interconnectedness of our experiences and the universe.

“For the eyes are the signs of the soul within, Of the heart that is leal and true, And, my own sweetheart, I shall love you still, Just as long as your eyes are blue.” – Andrew Barton ‘Banjo’ Paterson

In the gallery of the cosmos,
An eye gazes, soft and profound.
A window to the soul, it poses,
In its depths, the universe is found.

Colors blend in silent speech,
Telling tales of joy and sorrow.
In its look, a celestial beach,
Where today meets every tomorrow.

The eye, a sentinel of the spirit,
Watches over the silent heart.
In its vision, we inherit
The wisdom the soul imparts.

Through this watercolor window,
We see the dance of light and shade.
In its gaze, the ebb and flow,
Of the love from which we’re made.

We invite musings on the ways our eyes communicate far beyond what words can convey, reflecting the essence of our souls and the connections we share.
