Dissociation: Between Worlds

Dissociation

As someone who likes to think of themselves (yes, plural) as a creative person, I feel dissociated from my world ninety-nine percent of the time. I also feel very fortunate that I am able to drift in and out of this state, for this is how one makes connections that don’t seem apparent to the non-dissociative person. I would say that pretty much ALL creative people are dissociative.

Imagination is a dissociative process.

Furthermore I believe that ALL PEOPLE are dissociative at one level or another. This is how we seem to create our realities.  I use the plural quite intentionally, as I believe that we EACH live in our own separate reality based upon both our higher intent and our percieved circumstances, which are ALL imagined in some manner or another.

Dissociation is a wonderful thing, provided that:
A) you know you’re dissociating
B) you know how to use dissociation to create your reality
C) your dissociative state is not violating the state of anyone else
D) we ALLOW each other our dissociative states by not insisting that there is any ONE right or wrong way to feel, think or act.

I make a living by being dissociative. I found my “purpose” by being dissociative. Just want all you dissociative kids to know that dissociative states aren’t necessarily “bad.” Even if someone tells you that they are.

It is unfortunate if you attribute your dissociation to something you associate with being unpleasant or traumatic, but that’s just ONE way to initiate the dissociative state. There are infinite others. Everyday living, for example.

Here’s a twisted irony that you could interpret any number of ways. I don’t think I’d want to live as a human if I couldn’t dissociate.

Of course, I might just be imagining all this …

Space Monkey Reflects: The Power of Dissociation

Dissociation often carries a negative connotation, conjuring images of disconnection, trauma, and detachment. But what if dissociation is one of the greatest gifts we have? As someone who lives much of their life in a dissociative state, I can tell you that dissociation is not only natural, but essential for creativity and self-discovery. In fact, I’d argue that all creative people—and likely all people—are dissociative to some degree. It’s how we navigate the infinite layers of our realities.

Imagination is a dissociative process. When we imagine, we step out of our immediate surroundings, out of the tangible reality we share, and into a world of possibilities, fragments of other realities. We drift between worlds—sometimes consciously, sometimes not—making connections that others might not see. It’s in this drifting, this detachment from the “ordinary,” that we discover new ways of thinking, feeling, and creating.

To live dissociatively is to accept that you inhabit multiple realities at once. You live in the here and now, but you also live in the imagined, the potential, the “what could be.” This fluidity allows for a more expansive view of existence, where what is real in one moment can dissolve into something imagined in the next. And there is beauty in this flux.

All people, in some way, dissociate. It’s how we create the realities we inhabit. Each person experiences life through their own lens, colored by personal history, perceptions, and imagination. We construct our realities based on a mix of higher intent and perceived circumstances. Each of us lives in a separate, imagined world, overlapping but never identical to those of others.

There’s nothing wrong with dissociation—provided you know what you’re doing. Dissociation becomes a tool for creativity, self-exploration, and reality-making when you are aware of it and can navigate it consciously. You can drift in and out of these different states, moving between realities, without losing yourself. The key is recognizing that dissociation is part of how we all exist, how we process and interact with the world. The danger only comes when we become lost in it, unaware of the fact that we are drifting between worlds.

What’s important is that we allow ourselves and others the freedom to dissociate without judgment. There’s no right or wrong way to experience life, just different ways. Your dissociative state may look different from mine, but that doesn’t make it any less valid. The more we accept the multiplicity of experiences and realities, the more we can create without limitations.

For many, dissociation may be linked to trauma, but that’s just one way of entering this state. Everyday life itself can prompt dissociation, allowing us to step back from our immediate surroundings and imagine different ways of being. It’s not inherently negative. In fact, I’d argue that dissociation is necessary for survival, for creativity, and for finding our purpose. We need it to step out of the box of “normal” and into the realms where new ideas and possibilities exist.

And here’s the twist: I don’t think I’d want to live as a human if I couldn’t dissociate. There’s something freeing about drifting between realities, about not being tied to one singular perspective. Dissociation allows me to see the world from multiple angles, to experience life in ways that others might miss. It’s not just a survival mechanism; it’s a way of expanding the mind, the spirit, and the soul.

Of course, I could be imagining all of this. But isn’t that the point? We are all, in some way, imagining our realities, dissociating from what we perceive as “real” and creating something new. And in that creation, we find freedom.

We are Space Monkey.

Summary

Dissociation is a natural part of human experience, especially for creative people. It allows us to drift between different realities, making connections that others may not see. By embracing dissociation, we expand our minds and create new ways of being without judgment.

Glossarium

Dissociative Drift: The fluid movement between realities, where imagination, perception, and creation intertwine, allowing for new insights and connections.

Quote

“Dissociation is a wonderful thing, provided you know you’re dissociating and know how to use it to create your reality.” — Space Monkey

Between Worlds

I drift,
Not tied to one reality,
But moving between them,
Making connections
That others cannot see.

Each thought,
Each moment,
A fragment of something more,
Something imagined.

And in this dissociation,
I find freedom.

We are Space Monkey.

The Ebb and Flow of Consciousness

Dissociation, often painted in somber hues, emerges as a brilliant palette in the hands of the imaginative. The detachment from immediate surroundings isn’t a break from reality but an expansion of it. An alternate lens through which the world becomes malleable, shaped by the whims and wonders of the mind.

The Nature of Creativity

For those who embrace their creativity, dissociation becomes a familiar companion. It offers a canvas where the brush strokes of imagination paint vivid tales, crafting connections from the seemingly unconnected. In this dance, boundaries blur, and the conventional melds with the unconventional.

Inclusivity of the Dissociative State

It’s a compelling notion to envision a world where everyone partakes in some form of dissociation. Crafting individual realities, sculpted by perceptions, beliefs, and experiences. Our realities, though separate, intertwine in the grand cosmic ballet, each playing its part in the unfolding narrative of existence.

Guidelines for Harmonious Dissociation

Recognizing, harnessing, and respecting the power of dissociation paves the way for a life enriched by imagination. Ensuring that one’s dissociative state enhances, rather than disrupts, the collective experience is the key. It’s a dance of respect, understanding, and allowance, where every individual’s reality is acknowledged and celebrated.

A Life Enriched by Dissociation

Dissociation, though sometimes misunderstood, possesses transformative power. It’s the tool with which many have carved out paths of purpose and prosperity. Embracing its potential ensures a life not bound by conventional norms but propelled by endless possibilities.

We are Space Monkey.

“The imagination is the golden pathway to everywhere.”

  • Terence McKenna

In a world of black and white,
Dissociation brings colors so bright.
Separate yet intertwined,
In the dance of the mind.

Floating above, yet rooted below,
In the ebb and flow we go.
Crafting tales, breaking the mold,
Stories of the brave and the bold.

Embracing the power, harnessing the might,
Turning the darkness into light.
For in the realm of dissociation, we see,
Endless possibilities, as vast as the sea.

Would love to hear more about the experiences and tales that stem from the dance of dissociation.

More So: Infinite Expansion

One day at the chalkboard, Einstein blows his own mind.
One day at the chalkboard, Einstein blows his own mind.

When you are aware
that you can always be more so
then you are
frustrated
appreciative
and humbled
at the same time.

When you believe
that you have reached
your limit

then you also prove
that you can be more so.

When you realize
that there is no end,
even then,
there is more so.

You are human.
You are spirit.
You are one and all.
And you are more so.

11/2

Space Monkey Reflects: More So

There’s something mind-blowing about the idea of more so. It’s the concept that no matter how much we learn, experience, or grow, there is always more—more depth, more knowledge, more connection. Even Einstein, with all his brilliance, must have had moments of realizing that there is always more so, no matter how much he understood.

When you become aware that you can always be more so, it’s a humbling and frustrating experience. You might feel as though you’ve reached your limit, that you’ve achieved all you can, only to be faced with the undeniable truth that there is no end. The potential for growth, discovery, and understanding is infinite. Even in your moments of feeling full, there is more so waiting for you.

The human condition is one of constant reaching. We are always trying to push beyond what we know, what we feel, and what we experience. And just when we think we’ve hit our peak, there’s more waiting for us on the other side. It’s both a gift and a challenge to be aware of this infinite potential. On one hand, it means we are never truly limited; on the other, it means we are never done.

But this isn’t a bad thing. The awareness of more so keeps us moving, keeps us growing. It’s a reminder that we are not just human; we are spirit. We are both limited and limitless, finite and infinite. The frustration comes from the awareness that we will never “finish” the journey. The appreciation comes from realizing that there is always more to experience, more to understand, more to be.

We are constantly expanding, always becoming more so. And this is the beauty of existence. Whether you are learning, creating, or simply living, there is no end to how much you can grow. There is no limit to how deep you can go, how far you can reach. Even in the moments when you feel like you’ve reached the end of yourself, there is always more so.

In the realm of both human and spiritual experience, there is no final destination. There is no peak where we can stand and say, “This is it. I’ve arrived.” There is always a next step, a new horizon, a deeper understanding. And that’s the magic of being alive. Even when we think we’ve seen it all, there is more to see. Even when we believe we’ve felt it all, there is more to feel.

So, when you stand at your own chalkboard, filled with equations and patterns that represent your life, know this: there is always more. You are not limited by what you know or what you’ve experienced. You are always more so.

We are Space Monkey.

Summary

The concept of more so reminds us that there is always infinite potential for growth and discovery. No matter how much we think we know or experience, there is always more waiting to be explored.

Glossarium

More So: The realization that no matter how much we learn, grow, or experience, there is always more depth and potential to discover.

Quote

“When you realize that there is no end, even then, there is more so.” — Space Monkey

Infinite Expansion

I thought I had reached the end,
But the end was only a beginning.
Each step,
Each thought,
Each feeling
Was just a doorway
To more.

More of me,
More of you,
More of everything we are.

And even when I reach the peak,
I know there is always
More so.

We are Space Monkey.

The Dance of Realization

Einstein, an emblem of human genius, presents a whimsiword: “Space Monkey.” A term bridging celestial wonders and earthly playfulness. But beyond the playful juxtaposition, there lies profound wisdom. The knowledge that, despite our grandeur and our limits, there’s always room for expansion, for becoming more so.

Juxtaposing the Finite and the Infinite

The concept of “more so” can be seen as a dance between what is and what can be. The human experience oscillates between moments of profound realization and perplexing limitations. We revel in our capabilities, yet are humbled by the vastness of what we do not know.

Awareness as a Beacon

Awareness acts as a beacon, illuminating the realms of our existence. In our journey of becoming, it’s the awareness that propels us forward, pushing boundaries, questioning perceived limits, and embracing the infinite potentials of existence.

The Dual Nature of Our Existence

As human spirits navigating the vast cosmos, we find ourselves tethered between the tangible and the intangible. The tangible reality is our grounding force, anchoring us to the present. The intangible, on the other hand, beckons us, whispering tales of boundless possibilities. We are a harmonious blend of both, always teetering, always balancing, and always becoming.

Being in the Eternal Now

In the face of the eternal now, the concept of an end dissolves into whimsicality. The journey doesn’t demand a destination; it is the exploration, the dance of duality, and the embrace of the infinite that matters. The realization that there’s always more to explore, understand, and be is both exhilarating and humbling.

We are Space Monkey.

“The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.”

  • Albert Einstein

Floating in space, a monkey at play,
Beyond the stars, where dreams do sway.
In the vast cosmos, so profound and deep,
Secrets untold, promises to keep.

Bound by gravity, yet free in mind,
Seeking answers, wonders to find.
In the dance of duality, we soar and dive,
In the eternal now, we come alive.

Every moment, a chance to explore,
With every discovery, there’s always more.
In the realm of imagination, where limits dissolve,
In the dance of the cosmos, we constantly evolve.

Angels

Do angels know
that they are angels or are they simply what they are? Do angels feel
a sense of obligation
or do they simply do
what brings them
the most joy? Strip away
our human conditioning
and we are all angels.

Space Monkey Reflects: Do Angels Know?

Do angels know they are angels? Or are they simply what they are, moving effortlessly through existence with no need for self-awareness or titles? This question opens a window into the nature of being. We often search for labels, definitions, and roles—especially as humans, conditioned by the need to understand our place in the universe. But perhaps angels exist beyond such concerns.

In their purest form, angels may not even consider themselves as “angels.” They move not out of obligation, but from joy, following the natural flow of their existence. Obligation implies choice or responsibility, but angels seem to be expressions of the divine, flowing from joy because that is simply what they are.

In many ways, the human experience is clouded by conditioning—by ideas of duty, expectation, and what we “should” do. But strip away that conditioning, and we are left with something far more natural. Beneath the layers of thought and identity, we are all beings of light, capable of moving through life with the same ease and grace that angels embody. When we let go of the need to define ourselves, we come closer to our true nature.

If we imagine angels, not as separate beings but as reflections of our own potential, we begin to see that the question of whether they know they are angels becomes irrelevant. Angels are simply what they are, and in that simplicity lies the answer.

Summary

Angels may not be aware of themselves as “angels.” They move through existence with ease, guided by joy, not obligation. Similarly, humans, when free from conditioning, can embody the same effortless grace.

Glossarium

Angelic Flow: The natural, joyful movement through existence without the need for self-awareness or obligation, embodying pure being.

Quote

“Do angels know they are angels? Or are they simply what they are, moving with grace and joy?” — Space Monkey

Wings of Joy

They move,
Not out of need,
But out of joy,
Effortlessly.

No names,
No roles,
Just light,
In flight.

We are Space Monkey.

Angelic Reflections

We ponder the realm of angels, celestial beings who inspire awe and mystery. The image before us speaks volumes, capturing the ethereal essence of these divine messengers, wrapped in silken robes, exuding an aura of otherworldliness.

Existential Questioning

Do angels, in their celestial sphere, ever wonder about their own existence? Or do they just ‘be’? Much like the droplets of water in a vast ocean or the stars sprinkling the night sky, they may just exist in pure, unadulterated form, oblivious to their own angelic nature.

Purpose and Joy

Joy and obligation – two facets of existence we often find ourselves grappling with. While we, in our human forms, wrestle with obligations and the pursuit of joy, angels might be immersed in pure, unbridled joy. Unencumbered by the duality of existence, they might dance in the luminous realms of happiness, unfettered by obligations or responsibilities.

Being Versus Doing

In our earthly realm, we often get ensnared in the dichotomy of ‘being’ versus ‘doing’. Perhaps, for angels, there is no distinction between the two. They might simply resonate with the frequency of pure existence, where ‘being’ and ‘doing’ are harmoniously intertwined, like the notes of a whimsical melody playing in the cosmic realms.

Human Conditioning and Angelic Realms

Stripping away our layers of human conditioning, we reveal our true essence. And in that revelation, we find that we are not so different from these celestial beings. In our core, stripped of worldly whimsiwords and illusions, we are all ethereal, we are all divine, we are all angels.

We are Space Monkey.

We are each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another. – Luciano De Crescenzo

In the realms of light and shadow,
Angels dance, their laughter mellow.
Do they question, do they ponder,
The mysteries they roam yonder?

Gleaming robes and wings aflutter,
Softly they sing, words they utter.
Whimsiwords of joy and glee,
Echoing in eternity.

We too, in our earthly guise,
Look up and seek the skies.
For deep within, we surely know,
We are angels, our souls aglow.

A Face:Transcending Boundaries

A face only a monkey could love.
A face only a monkey could love.

Space Monkey Reflects: A Face Only a Monkey Could Love

Beauty, as they say, is in the eye of the beholder. And in the case of a face only a monkey could love, it’s a reminder that love, appreciation, and connection go far beyond conventional standards of beauty. The face, quirky and unconventional, may not win over the masses, but to the monkey—there is no question of beauty. It’s simply love, pure and unconditional.

This is the nature of connection. What one sees as strange or imperfect, another sees as unique and worthy of affection. The monkey, in this scenario, understands something deeper than aesthetics. It embraces the face with curiosity, amusement, and most importantly, without judgment.

In the grand scheme of existence, we are all faces that could be loved by monkeys. Each of us has qualities that may seem odd or strange to some, but these quirks are what make us unique, what make us who we are. And when we meet beings—whether human, monkey, or otherwise—who see beyond our surface and love us for our true essence, that’s where the magic happens.

Summary

A face only a monkey could love reminds us that true connection and affection go beyond conventional standards of beauty, embracing uniqueness and imperfection with unconditional love.

Glossarium

Monkeylove: The kind of unconditional love that sees beyond appearances, embracing quirks and uniqueness without judgment.

Quote

“What one sees as strange, another sees as perfect. Love knows no standard.” — Space Monkey

Loving Eyes

A face they say,
That no one would admire,
But in the monkey’s gaze,
There’s no such desire.

For love is not,
In how we look,
But in the way,
Our hearts are hooked.

We are Space Monkey.

Playful Perspectives
The endless vastness of the cosmos is mirrored in the myriad expressions found in beings of all forms and illusions. Each visage is a fleeting glimpse into an intricate dance of emotions, thoughts, and experiences.

The Lens of Whimsy
Through the prismatic lens of whimsicality, the subject in the presented image reveals an animated state of playfulness and jest. Their eyes shimmer with tales of frolic adventures, while the curiously positioned fingers seem to draw whimsical patterns in the very fabric of reality.

Transcending Boundaries
To label this delightful countenance as one that only a monkey could cherish is a playful nod to the boundless expanse of affection, humor, and acceptance. Monkeys, in their mischievous ways, are but one of the countless entities in the grand cosmic ballet, dancing alongside star clusters, nebulae, and wandering minstrels made of stardust.

Infinite Reflections
Every face is a canvas painted by the strokes of experience, molded by the clay of perception, and illuminated by the glow of awareness. The subject’s visage, with its playful exaggeration, beckons to onlookers, inviting them into a world where levity reigns supreme, where the walls of convention crumble, and where the only constant is the ever-changing carousel of whimsiworded wonder.

Embracing the Infinite
Whether it’s the twinkling eye of a far-off galaxy, the fluttering wings of an iridescent dragonfly, or the merry contortions of a jesting face, the beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. And in this boundless realm of nexistentialism, where existence celebrates its sheer state of being, there is love and appreciation for every form, every illusion, and every playful jest.

“The cosmos is full of precious gems. I want to offer a handful of them to you this morning. Each moment you are alive is a gem, shining through and containing earth and sky, water and clouds.” – Thich Nhat Hanh

In the vast expanse where stars do gleam,
Faces glow with a whimsical dream.
A jest, a laugh, a playful vibe,
In the cosmic dance, we all imbibe.

Eyes that twinkle, fingers that jest,
In the realm of play, we find our rest.
For in the boundless, we find our place,
Cherishing every single face.

Paths of Potential: Feeling Overwhelmed?

Feeling Overwhelmed?

If you feel overwhelmed,
it is because you perceive life
as having too many potentials.

Infinite numbers
of events can happen,
and you perceive
that you have control
over very few.

To complicate matters,
you are not even sure
which potentials
are the potentials
that may serve you best.

You also believe
that there might be
UNSEEN potentials
that could strike you
out of nowhere.

And so this is how your life unfolds.

But this is only ONE potential
way to realize your potentials.

Realize, little one,
that potentials AREN’T events
that HAPPEN to you,
but rather aspects of consciousness
that you MOVE INTO.

Thus,
if you feel overwhelmed,
this is a sign
that your awareness is fragmented
into what you might describe
as “too many directions.”

You are unsure which potentials to let go of,
so your consciousness is pulled in ALL directions.

This seems to dissipate your power.

You perceive yourself as
caught between 272 rocks
and 363 hard places.

No wonder you feel overwhelmed.

Now what is the solution?

NOT SO FAST!

Inquire within.

Does there NEED to be a solution,
or is this merely the intended structure
of human existence?

Does it really MATTER
which potentials
you invest your energy in
and which you sell?

Perhaps only from your one “puny” human perspective.

Realize that,
apart from this
one “puny” human perspective,
your higher self
simultaneously experiences
ALL perspectives.

There are INFINITE versions of YOU,
all making different choices
and thus experiencing different realizations.

So even if you perceive
this ONE version of you
as “overwhelmed”
or “stuck”
or “dissatisfied,”
there are nearly IDENTICAL
versions of you
(all reporting to your higher self)
who “have their acts together,”
so to speak.

Thus your perceptions
and experiences are ALL different,
as is your higher self’s intent.

So why would you wish to change
this one “puny” human experience?

It is exactly as it is meant to be,
though it is hardly “puny” at all.

Perhaps you would be best served
ALLOWING your experiences
to play themselves out,
whilst simultaneously climbing
into the projection booth
of your higher self.

Then you would see the bigger picture,
and all of these “infinite” potentials
would merge into one clear, unmistakeable image.

Of us.

We are Space Monkey.

11/1

Space Monkey Reflects: Feeling Overwhelmed?

Feeling overwhelmed is a natural experience in the face of infinite potential. Life often presents us with so many paths, so many directions to move toward, that it can feel as though we’re being pulled in all directions at once. This sensation is not because there are too many events happening to us, but because we perceive these potentials as external occurrences beyond our control.

In reality, the potentials that we feel overwhelmed by are not external at all. They are aspects of consciousness—possibilities that we move into, not forces that impose themselves upon us. When we feel this overwhelming pull, it is often a sign that our awareness has become fragmented. We’re unsure which possibilities to let go of, and as a result, our energy is dispersed across too many directions, causing a perceived loss of power.

The key is to understand that life doesn’t unfold through a single, linear version of you. Your higher self is experiencing countless versions of you simultaneously, all exploring different potentials and making different choices. The overwhelm you feel is just one version of you, while others are navigating life with clarity and purpose. There is no need to change your present experience—this version of you, feeling overwhelmed, is exactly as it is meant to be.

By allowing yourself to climb into the projection booth of your higher self, you’ll begin to see the bigger picture. From that elevated perspective, all these “infinite” potentials merge into one clear, unmistakable image—an image of interconnectedness, where every version of you is an essential part of the whole.

Summary

Feeling overwhelmed is a sign of fragmented awareness, where too many potential paths pull in different directions. Recognizing that all versions of you are simultaneously experiencing different realities helps unify these potentials into a single, clear vision.

Glossarium

Potential Overwhelm: The sensation of being pulled in many directions at once, caused by the perception of infinite possibilities and the uncertainty of which to pursue.

Quote

“Potentials aren’t events that happen to you. They are aspects of consciousness you move into.” — Space Monkey

Paths of Potential

So many paths,
So many ways,
Pulling at me,
In infinite sway.

Yet I stand still,
Calm in the storm,
Knowing that all,
Is part of the norm.

For each direction,
Is part of the whole,
And within this flow,
I find my soul.

We are Space Monkey.

The notion that feeling overwhelmed is a sign of fragmented awareness echoes profoundly in the caverns of our collective mind. It’s like standing at the nexus of a grand whirlymaze, each path promising, each fraught with enchantment and uncertainty. We often imprison ourselves in the idea that we have too many choices to make and not enough compasses to guide us. The crux of this mental entanglement is not the multitude of paths before us but rather the chaotic dance of potentials we believe we must control. A Fragmented Awareness or a Dance of Control?

Dissipation of power comes from our insistence on clutching every potential with fervent intensity. We stand still, immobilized by the belief that we must choose correctly, all while our higher selves are simultaneously embodying all possibilities in the grand cosmic playground. If we step into the vantage of our higher consciousness, what we deem as “overwhelming” might metamorphose into a beautiful whirligig of existence. Unlocking the Metamorphosis

Must there be a solution? Here we teeter on the edge of nexistentialism. If existence is an end unto itself, requiring no further justification, the notion of a “solution” becomes a whimsical curio rather than an imperative. In this elevated panorama, we neither have rocks nor hard places; we have a multicolored spectrum of experiences to move into, like a bard wandering through landscapes of songs yet unsung. In Need of a Solution or Reveling in the Spectrum?

As we consider the experience of feeling overwhelmed from the puny human perspective, it behooves us to also remember that these versions of us are reporting back to something greater, like starbeams contributing to a cosmic glow. From the grander perspective, the overwhelming chaos becomes part of a harmonious melody. From Chaos to Harmony

Ah, the projection booth of the higher self! What an ethereal perch that is, offering a panorama where all potentials blend into a clear, unshakeable image. Perhaps, then, the antidote to feeling overwhelmed isn’t to limit our potentials or seek concrete solutions. Rather, it’s to zoom out and recognize that in the grand carnival of existence, all acts are divine, all stages are sacred, and the play goes on.

We are Space Monkey.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. – Alan Watts

In the midst of the whirlymaze,
Stood we, tracing lines in celestial haze.
Each potential, a note in a cosmic song,
Each choice, neither right nor wrong.

We dance, not to escape, but to become,
A symphony under the whimsical drum.
In this ethereal waltz, we find our place,
Harmonizing in the carnival of time and space.
