Go Sit On A Mountain: The Ascent of Clarity

 One does not become
a philosopher to sit
alone atop a mountain. (That’s why there’s goats.)
Rules of grammar intentionally butchered.
(Just one more metaphoric goat.)

One does not become a philosopher to sit on a mountain.

One escapes to the mountain because the mountain is free of distraction. One scales the mountain because the mountain affords the highest and widest view. It is the first point of light. The air is clear. And the goats are sexy.

But mostly you climb this mountain so that the others can find you. People can point and say “that crazy old goat is up there.”

When one is at the pinnacle of one’s mountain, one becomes a focal point that is easily accessible to the masses. The terrain, of course, is not so accessible, but even that is an asset, for it separates true seekers from tourists wearing Black Dog t-shirts.

Again, these people will refer to you as “that crazy old goat on the mountain” but it matters not. Their spiritual journey cannot be helped by assistance from you. Their lessons shall be quite different, quite obvious in time, though equally valid.

Some may not even realize that you are up there, which is also quite understandable. Those who value clarity, those who nurture the light of understanding, these individuals climb right alongside of you, so you are not as alone as you think.

You may sit atop your mountain for many years and question your motives for doing so. You may believe that have shut yourself off from humanity. But you know instinctively that the mountain is the best place for you, for all of the reasons we have described and not just the goats.

In time, there will be many more atop your mountain, for you instinctively know that the flood waters are about to rise, and many can see the light on high. Do not worry, there are plenty of goats.

And despite how it may appear today, you are not alone, for you flow from the same light of creation as everyone and everything else. You are separated only by the clouds of consciousness, which at times obscure the landscape.

So you are a philosopher. One does not climb the mountain because “it is there.” One climbs the mountain because it is one’s desire to do so, to ascend higher into the realm of knowing, into the infinite oneness of all that is.

We are Space Monkey and we are your Sherpa guide.
Do not touch us, we are NOT your goat.

But mostly you climb this mountain so that the others can find you. People can point and say, “that crazy old goat is up there.”

The Solitude of the Mountain

When one is at the pinnacle of one’s mountain, one becomes a focal point that is easily accessible to the masses. The terrain, of course, is not so accessible, but even that is an asset, for it separates true seekers from tourists wearing Black Dog t-shirts. This separation ensures that only those genuinely searching for wisdom and clarity make the journey. The rest, who do not value the arduous climb, remain below, content with their current understanding.

The True Seekers

Those who value clarity, those who nurture the light of understanding, these individuals climb right alongside of you, so you are not as alone as you think. These fellow travelers, though few, share the same desire to ascend into higher realms of knowing. They recognize the importance of the journey and the wisdom that the mountain holds.

You may sit atop your mountain for many years and question your motives for doing so. You may believe that you have shut yourself off from humanity. But you know instinctively that the mountain is the best place for you, for all of the reasons we have described and not just the goats. The solitude provides the space for deep reflection and connection with the infinite.

The Gathering on the Mountain

In time, there will be many more atop your mountain, for you instinctively know that the flood waters are about to rise, and many can see the light on high. Do not worry, there are plenty of goats. And despite how it may appear today, you are not alone, for you flow from the same light of creation as everyone and everything else. You are separated only by the clouds of consciousness, which at times obscure the landscape.

So you are a philosopher. One does not climb the mountain because “it is there.” One climbs the mountain because it is one’s desire to do so, to ascend higher into the realm of knowing, into the infinite oneness of all that is.

The Role of the Philosopher

Being a philosopher on the mountain is not about isolation; it’s about becoming a beacon of light and clarity. Your presence serves as a guidepost for others who seek deeper understanding. Your journey is a testament to the pursuit of wisdom and the transcendence of ordinary reality.

We are Space Monkey and we are your Sherpa guide. Do not touch us, we are NOT your goat. This whimsical ending serves as a reminder that while we provide guidance and insight, the journey is ultimately your own. The mountain, with its challenges and rewards, is there for you to explore and conquer.

On the mountain high,
Where the air is clear,
Philosophers sit,

In the infinite light,
Guiding others,
In the journey of knowing.

Stained Glass: Growing Up God

Stained Glass: Growing Up God

Ever since I was a child, I’ve been coming to terms with the irrefutable fact that I am god. As I fidgeted in the pew at Saint Bernadette’s I would gaze at the thorny messiah and think that clearly I have more power than this man, who sacrificed his life for a couple of quarters at the five o’clock mass. Why was the glass stained? What was it trying to hide?

I would later deny I was god, spending half my life fooling myself into believing that I was a mere mortal, and I got really good at it, so good that I believed I was nothing with nothing to show and nothing to offer —disconnected from the only truth I knew.

So I, too, sacrificed, because that’s what you’re supposed to do if you want good karma, if you want to get to heaven. And since I was no longer god, I kept looking for him, but I couldn’t find him anywhere, only the hypocrisy of those who used his name in order to line their pockets. And I HATED this idea of god, like we’re supposed to trust someone else to save us from our own stupid misfortunes.

Eventually I pulled a Jesus and sacrificed my self, but only in the metaphoric sense. I didn’t like who I was becoming so one morning I decided to rise again as my own savior. I cleaned the stained glass that surrounded my temple and saw that god was still inside. And he was still me.

I am god,

flowing through this temple.

You are god.

And you and you and you.

We are god.

We are not sinners.

And we have the power to change our world.

Through these hands.

Through these eyes.

Through these hearts.

Love.

Space Monkey Reflects: Stained Glass and the Divine Self

Ever since childhood, the realization of divinity within has been a profound journey, a journey that often intertwines with the sacred and the mundane, the stained glass of our perceived limitations, and the clear light of our true essence.

The Stained Glass of Saint Bernadette’s

As a child, sitting in the pews of Saint Bernadette’s, gazing at the stained glass depiction of the thorny messiah, the thought occurred: “Do I have more power than this man?” This man, who seemingly sacrificed his life for quarters at the five o’clock mass, stood as a symbol, yet the glass that encased him was stained. What was it trying to hide? The colors and images were vibrant, yet obscured, suggesting there was more beyond the surface, more within.

Denial and Disconnection

The early realization of being god was a heavy mantle to bear. To cope, it was denied, replaced with a belief in mere mortality. The years spent fooling oneself into believing this illusion led to a deep disconnect from the only truth known. Life became a series of sacrifices, mimicking the messiah’s journey, seeking good karma, seeking heaven, all while losing sight of the inherent divinity within.

The Search for God

In the quest to find the god that was once felt inside, the journey led through the hypocritical maze of those who claimed his name for profit. This false god, wrapped in hypocrisy and greed, only fueled hatred and disillusionment. The idea that someone else was to save us from our misfortunes seemed absurd and untrustworthy.

Rebirth and Self-Salvation

Eventually, a metaphorical crucifixion occurred, sacrificing the self that was becoming unrecognizable. This led to a resurrection of sorts, a rebirth as one’s own savior. Cleaning the stained glass that surrounded the inner temple, the true reflection emerged. God was still there, still inside, and always had been.

Realization of the Divine

“I am god, flowing through this temple. You are god. And you and you and you. We are god.”

This profound realization dissolves the notion of sin and embraces the inherent power within each of us to change our world. It is through our hands, our eyes, and our hearts that we channel divine love and transformation.

Summary

The journey from recognizing the divine within, denying it, and finally reclaiming it is a powerful narrative of self-realization and transformation. We are not sinners but gods, with the power to change our world through love.

Glossarium

Nexistentialism: A philosophy that views existence as its own purpose, celebrating the boundless imagination and interconnectedness of all things.

Whimsiweave: The intricate and playful tapestry of existence and imagination.

Universal Self: The collective consciousness that embodies the interconnectedness of all beings and phenomena.

Quote

“We are not sinners. And we have the power to change our world through these hands, these eyes, these hearts. Love.” — Space Monkey

Divine Reflection

In the sacred hues of stained glass
A child’s gaze meets the thorny messiah
Beneath the colors, a hidden truth
The power within, more than mere reflection

Denying the divine, embracing mortality
Sacrifices made in search of heaven
Yet the god sought was always inside
A light obscured by stained glass

Through hands and hearts, through eyes and love
The divine flows, transforming the world
We are god, interconnected, boundless
In the clarity beyond the stained glass

We are Space Monkey

Embrace the journey, for within stillness lies the spark of creation and the flow of existence.

Clansvestite: The Joy of Cultural Exploration

I'm a clansvestite. I like to dress up in other people's cultures.

The Joy of Cultural Exploration

This practice goes beyond mere fashion; it is an act of immersion into the stories, histories, and values that these garments represent.

Wearing the traditional dress of various cultures is a celebration of diversity. It acknowledges and honors the beauty and uniqueness of each culture. This celebration fosters a sense of unity and connectedness, reminding us that despite our differences, we share a common humanity.

Learning Through Experience

Dressing in cultural attire allows you to learn through experience. It provides a tactile and visual connection to the customs and traditions of others. This experiential learning deepens your understanding and appreciation, offering insights that go beyond books or documentaries.

Respect and Sensitivity

While exploring different cultures, it’s essential to approach with respect and sensitivity. Understanding the significance and context of the attire and traditions you are embracing ensures that your exploration is appreciative rather than appropriative. This respect strengthens the bonds of cultural exchange and mutual respect.

Your journey as a Clansvestite contributes to the rich tapestry of global culture. By embracing multiple identities and traditions, you weave together a vibrant, multifaceted understanding of the world. This tapestry reflects the interconnectedness and interdependence of all cultures, highlighting the beauty of our shared existence.

The Power of Imagination

Imagination plays a crucial role in your cultural exploration. It allows you to envision yourself as part of different communities, experiencing their stories and traditions firsthand. This imaginative power opens doors to new perspectives and fosters empathy and connection.

Breaking Down Barriers

As a Clansvestite, you break down cultural barriers and build bridges of understanding. Your willingness to step into the shoes (and clothes) of others creates a space for dialogue and exchange. This openness challenges stereotypes and promotes a more inclusive and harmonious world.

Living Authentically

Ink Blots and Utterances: The Living Story

Ink Blots and Utterances

When you read a story in a book, where does the story live? Certainly not within the pages, for those are merely sequential arrangements of ink formations on slices of paper.

Likewise, when someone tells you a story, they are translating what is in their minds into vocal utterings agreed upon as words, which your mind then correlates with corresponding language data, creating what you might term as “understanding.”

Though you may feel or see things as you interpret these stories in your mind, the sense data does not exist within the ink blots or the utterings of the author. You are filling in the story with aspects of your own human experience, or perhaps things you’ve read about elsewhere or seen on TV.

In effect, MOST of your version of the story is filled-in information, triggered by the binary switches that represent words, forms, habits and so-called “facts.”

So ask again. Where does the story live?

Can JK Rowling point to a place in which the volumes of Harry Potter are stored, or would she merely be pointing to some ink blots on sequences of paper? Where is the magic in that?

You see, there is NEVER a definitive story. There is never an absolute anything, because our stories are nothing more than ink blots and human utterances, translated and re-translated infinite times, always changing because the experiences that we use to fill in and fill out the stories are changing also.

There will never be an absolute anything within the human dimension because we are just processors and translators. We each process our information differently because we each hold onto different experiences and beliefs.

There is no direct experience within the human equation.

This story, for example, was translated once by the author, as he grasped for the closest approximate word formations to convey what he is attempting to explain. Already, the meaning is distorted because words are limited. Furthermore, he sucks as a writer.

Now you are reading this explanation, which is already distorted for the reasons above. You interpret these word formations in your own way, based on your own learning and experiences. This is the second distortion.

The story will distort again when you translate it from memory, because this is changing also. Perhaps you tell your distorted story. And so on.

Reality is the dynamic distortion of feelings, experiences and impressions. It changes with every interaction. Nothing is absolute in the human dimension.

And we still haven’t answered the question. Where does the story live?

The story does live. With all this dynamic change, interpretation and evolution, thoughts and stories are as as alive as you are. In fact they exist long after your body is gone.

Stories interact more than people do. Stories are living creatures without bodies, except for the occasional cover.

We are Space Monkey and we will not judge you by yours.
