with the notion
that the god I grew up with
isn’t the god I know now.
(I was hardly a servant then.)
By imagining god in plain sight,
at the head of an institution called “church,”
it seemed that god was hidden away from me.
By casting god in bronze,
as words,
as something of the flesh,
as Adam and Eve and the Serpent,
glorified in so many ways,
the divine was unconsciously defined
as separate and outside of this self.
My creator. Not me.
But gratefully I have come to know god.
The divine flows as me and through me.
If there is a gift to be given you,
it is to know your self as god.
God is your servant. You are a servant of god.
There is no separation. No difference.
