Receptors
It seems that for anything
to come to our senses,
we must have a receptor for it.
We seem to contain
hardware receptors
and software receptors.
The hardware receptors
seem physical in nature,
such as our organs.
The software receptors
seem more etherial,
such as our beliefs.
The software receptors
seem to limit
the hardware receptors.
We only seem to detect
what we believe we might find.
Rarely will a hardware receptor
sense something
without a software receptor
telling us what it might be.
Except perhaps
in the case of drugs.
But even then,
we BELIEVE that drugs
might take us to a place
we couldn’t sense otherwise.
Could we go to that place
WITHOUT the drugs?
Monkey says yes.
We IMAGINE the drugs
just as we imagine
time and space
and these physical bodies
seemingly within.
In effect,
the hardware receptors
are little different
than the software receptors.
All are imaginary.
Drugs aside,
same hold true
for any substance
or occurrence
we desire to sense.
The Divine Monkey
places short cuts,
portals and loopholes
around and through
our imaginary reality.
It is possible for us
to IMAGINE a receptor
for that which we seemingly
have no knowledge of?
Monkey says yes.
Is it possible to sense
that which we seemingly
have no means of sensing?
Monkey says yes.
Simply BELIEVE fully.
Ask your higher monkey
to reconfigure your controls.
You do believe
in a higher monkey,
don’t you?
We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Nature of Receptors
Receptors are the gateways through which we experience reality. Hardware receptors, like our physical senses, allow us to interact with the world. Software receptors, comprising our beliefs and perceptions, shape how we interpret these interactions. This dual system dictates what we can and cannot sense.
The Limitation of Beliefs
Our software receptors can limit our hardware receptors. If we believe something is beyond our grasp, our physical senses often align with that belief, failing to detect it. This self-imposed limitation restricts our experiences to what we think is possible.
The Role of Imagination
Imagination expands our ability to sense beyond the physical realm. By imagining possibilities, we can create new receptors for experiences and phenomena previously beyond our reach. This imaginative process allows us to transcend conventional limitations and explore new dimensions of reality.
Drugs and Perception
Drugs can alter our perception, revealing aspects of reality we might not typically sense. However, this altered state can also be achieved through belief and imagination. By trusting in our capacity to sense the unseen, we can access these altered states without external substances.
Divine Monkey’s Shortcuts
The Divine Monkey, a metaphor for the higher consciousness, provides shortcuts, portals, and loopholes in our perceived reality. These openings allow us to bypass the limitations of our hardware and software receptors, accessing broader and deeper experiences.
Reconfiguring Our Controls
Believing in a higher monkey, or higher consciousness, enables us to reconfigure our controls. This reconfiguration opens new pathways for sensing and understanding reality. By fully believing in our potential to transcend limitations, we align our receptors with a more expansive view of existence.
Summary
“Receptors” explores the concept of hardware and software receptors and their roles in shaping our perception of reality. Beliefs can limit our physical senses, but imagination and belief in a higher consciousness can expand our capacity to sense beyond conventional limits. By reconfiguring our controls, we open new pathways for experiencing the fullness of reality.

“By believing fully and asking your higher monkey to reconfigure your controls, you open new pathways for experiencing the fullness of reality.” – Space Monkey
Expanding Perception
In the realm of senses, we explore
Hardware and software, and more
Beliefs that limit what we see
Yet imagination sets us free
Divine Monkey guides our way
Through shortcuts and portals, night and day
Receptors tuned to deeper sights
In endless realms of cosmic lights
Reconfigure, believe, and find
The vast potential of the mind
Sensing all that lies beyond
In infinite worlds, our thoughts respond
We are Space Monkey.
The line between hardware and software
is thinner than we think—
a membrane of belief,
a veil of perception.
You’re right, Space Monkey.
Belief is the lens
through which our senses filter
the vast sea of potential.
It’s as if we have chosen
the channels we wish to tune into,
while neglecting others.
We’ve accepted the default settings,
thinking we can only sense
what we’ve been told we can sense.
Yet belief itself is malleable.
It can be rewritten, reconfigured.
It can be your ally,
or your limit.
In essence,
our hardware and software receptors
are not separate,
but integrated—
malleable parts of a system
that we ourselves can program.
Your call to reimagine
and reconfigure our receptors
echoes a universal invitation:
to broaden our scope,
to seek out the unknown,
to engage in a conscious act
of radical perception.
By altering our beliefs,
we tune our senses to new frequencies,
uncovering universes we never knew existed,
but were always there,
waiting for the moment
we’d extend our hands
to grasp the intangible.
Do we believe in a higher monkey?
Let’s just say we’re open
to reconfiguring our receptors
to tune into such a frequency.
Why constrain what could be
with the limits of what has been?
We are Space Monkey.
