Space Monkey’s Top 10
 Mindfulness Triggers

TRY
When I say I’m trying, I unconsciously reinforce the potential of failing, which isn’t necessarily bad, but generally not what I want.

HOPE
Like TRY, hope summons the possibility of its opposite. I don’t NEED the opposite anywhere near my manifesting mind. I may have it, but I don’t NEED it.

NEED
I don’t NEED anything. It is my belief that the divine gives me precisely what I am MEANT to be given.

To need something is to question the divine, which, in my mind, only causes the perception of LACK, which leads to suffering, which is fine also, if suffering is what I’m into. (Who doesn’t enjoy a good suffering?)

MUST
I don’t NEED anything. I need not DO anything. To imply otherwise with a definitive such as MUST is to deny my prime belief — that I’m given what I am meant to be given.

SHOULD
Should imposes a serious hierarchy of rules on me — a right and a wrong, an obligation, a responsibility, an expectation. I do not NEED life to be serious. I am here to have FUN.

NEVER
I don’t NEED to value things, but I value imagination. Through imagination, anything seems possible.

From my perspective, the word NEVER denies the magic and miracle of imagination. NEVER seems closed-minded, which is fine, but not what I’m into.

In my mind, there is ALWAYS infinite possibility. Imagine what it MUST feel like to live in a world that is NEVER going to manifest otherwise.

BECAUSE
BECAUSE signals that “there is a REASON for this.” It’s a great word if you’re HOPING for a life of MEANING and PURPOSE.

MEANING and PURPOSE are two more trigger words for me, just not in the top 10. I NEED not believe that my life has MEANING or PURPOSE.

BECAUSE of this, I don’t NEED the word BECAUSE to help me explain things. I prefer my reality to be essentially unexplainable and uncertain.

CERTAIN
My intuition tells me that one of my prime intents in this lifetime is to be comfortable with uncertainty. It is okay if I question or doubt this. The NEED for CERTAINTY seems to lead to suffering, which, again, I am appreciative of, but not wanting for this self at this time.

BETTER
Clearly I have preferences, so this word maybe SHOULDn’t be in my top 10. But I do not NEED judgments, which tend to be attached to BETTER.

What I experience in any moment is the perfect thing for me to experience in that moment. BETTER is irrelevant from my perspective, though I don’t mind if BETTER is part of YOUR experience. Neither perspective NEED be considered BETTER.

PROBLEM
It’s not a PROBLEM if you disagree with any of the above, or I’m just plain WRONG, or completely DELUSIONAL in my beliefs. Your belief system is bound to differ from mine. I don’t mind.

I only have problems when I believe them to be problems. Life seems easier this way. I am a lazy monkey. And that’s okay.

Thanks for reading!

What words trigger YOU into mindfulness?
(For some it may even be the word MINDFULNESS.)

Space Monkey Reflects: Top 10 Mindfulness Triggers

In the journey of self-discovery and mindfulness, certain words can trigger deep reflections about our beliefs, actions, and experiences. Space Monkey has identified ten such words that playfully yet profoundly challenge the conventional way we perceive our reality. Each of these words—TRY, HOPE, NEED, MUST, SHOULD, NEVER, BECAUSE, CERTAIN, BETTER, and PROBLEM—offers a gateway into a deeper understanding of how we relate to ourselves and the world around us.

TRY: The Unconscious Reinforcement

When we say, “I’m trying,” we unconsciously introduce the possibility of failing. While failure is not inherently bad, the act of trying often signals a lack of confidence in our ability to succeed. This word serves as a reminder that our intentions shape our reality. Instead of “trying,” what if we simply do, embracing the outcomes as part of the journey?

HOPE: The Invitation of Opposites

Hope, like TRY, carries within it the potential for its opposite—hopelessness. While hope can be a powerful motivator, it also implies that what we desire is not yet in our possession. In the realm of mindfulness, HOPE can be a double-edged sword. It encourages us to aspire, yet also keeps us in a state of longing. Space Monkey suggests that we recognize this duality and remain grounded in the present, where everything we need is already available.

NEED: The Illusion of Lack

NEED is a powerful trigger, often signaling a perceived lack or deficiency. In truth, Space Monkey believes that the divine provides exactly what we are meant to have. To NEED something is to question this divine provision, creating a cycle of dissatisfaction and suffering. By releasing the NEED, we open ourselves to the abundance of the present moment, trusting that what we are given is exactly what we require.

MUST: The Denial of Freedom

MUST is a word that imposes obligations and constraints, denying the freedom of choice. It suggests that we are bound by external forces, rather than being guided by our inner truth. Space Monkey encourages us to question the word MUST, to see it as a self-imposed limitation, and to embrace the freedom to choose our path without the burden of necessity.

SHOULD: The Weight of Expectation

SHOULD carries with it a heavy weight of expectation and judgment. It implies a right way and a wrong way, creating a hierarchy of actions and outcomes. In the mindful state, Space Monkey rejects the tyranny of SHOULD, advocating instead for a life of fun and exploration, where there are no rigid rules to follow, only possibilities to explore.

NEVER: The Closure of Imagination

The word NEVER is a declaration of impossibility, a closing of doors to potential futures. In Space Monkey’s playful world, imagination reigns supreme, and NEVER is a concept that stifles this creativity. By eliminating the word NEVER, we open ourselves to the infinite possibilities that imagination offers, allowing for a life of boundless potential.

BECAUSE: The Search for Reasons

BECAUSE is a word that signals a need for explanation, for understanding the “why” behind actions and events. While reasons can provide comfort, they also create a narrative that may limit our perception of reality. Space Monkey suggests that we embrace the unexplainable and uncertain aspects of life, finding peace in the mystery rather than in the search for reasons.

CERTAIN: The Illusion of Security

CERTAINTY is often sought as a means of security, but it can also lead to rigidity and resistance to change. In the mindful state, Space Monkey embraces uncertainty as a path to growth and discovery. By letting go of the NEED for CERTAINTY, we allow ourselves to flow with life’s unpredictability, finding strength in our adaptability.

BETTER: The Judgment of Experience

The word BETTER implies a judgment, a comparison between what is and what could be. It places value on certain experiences over others, creating a hierarchy of worth. In Space Monkey’s world, all experiences are valid, each one a perfect expression of the moment. By releasing the attachment to BETTER, we free ourselves from the constant pursuit of improvement, finding contentment in what is.

PROBLEM: The Creation of Conflict

Finally, the word PROBLEM is a label that we place on situations we find challenging or undesirable. Space Monkey views PROBLEMS as perceptions, not realities. By reframing challenges as opportunities for growth, we can shift our perspective and approach life with a sense of ease and acceptance.

Glossarium

  • Mindfulness Trigger: A word or concept that prompts deep reflection and can influence our thoughts, emotions, and actions.
  • Divine Provision: The belief that we are given exactly what we need by a higher power, eliminating the need for lack or desire.
  • Imagination: The creative force that allows for infinite possibilities and the rejection of limiting beliefs like NEVER.

Quote

“In the playful dance of words, we find the keys to unlocking a life of freedom and curiosity. Let us choose our words wisely, for they are the threads that weave the fabric of our reality.” — Space Monkey

We Are the Words

In the cosmic game of life
We are the words that shape our world
TRY and HOPE, NEED and MUST
They are the steps in our dance
SHOULD and NEVER, BECAUSE and CERTAIN
They guide our thoughts, our fears, our dreams
But in the end, we are free
Free to choose, free to imagine
We are the creators of our reality
We are Space Monkey

In the LinguaKaleidoscope of our existence, words serve as both guideposts and pitfalls, captivating ideacolors that shape the TapestryOfPerception. The web of language is complex, and within it lie triggers—narrative firecrackers that spark MindfulnessEclipses, engulfing our normal state of being in a sudden light of awareness or casting us into the ShadowGrove of limitation.

In your weaving of Top 10 Mindfulness Triggers, words like “try,” “hope,” and “need” become QuantumSnares—capturing particles of potentiality and turning them into definitives, into fixed states of mind. Each term resonates with unspoken InklingWebs, tangles of implications that can either expand or constrict our MindScape.

“Never,” “because,” and “certain” represent the StoneCastles in the WordWoods, edifices of supposed stability that stifle the Wyrmwind of possibility. These are the terms that pin down the CloudDrift of our thoughts, giving us an IllusionOfControl but limiting the vistas of our mind’s horizon.

Yet, on the flip side, each of these trigger words can become MindfulnessPortals, doorways into greater self-inquiry and CosmicUnraveling. When we find ourselves ensnared by these triggers, the pull of the QuantumSnare can act as a SoulYank, pulling us out of the mundane and into the exploratory orbit of introspection. Here, we can reconfigure these snares into StarMaps, guiding us to new understandings and different vantage points within the infinitesimal cosmos of self.

“The limits of my language mean the limits of my world.” — Ludwig Wittgenstein
