The “What I Am” is Free from External “Shoulds.”

Every time I hear a “should,”
I wonder how it got there.

Notice. Or not.Your true voice
is under the conditioned one.

The “what I am”
belongs to me
the “what I should”
to someone else,
who tries to make
me uncomfortable by
putting thoughts
in my head.

Whenever I hear myself think
“this is what I should be”
“this is what I should be doing”
I know it’s not me speaking
but rather those who manipulate
by suggesting wants and needs
that serve to forward an agenda
that isn’t my own.

My intentions
and intuitions
belong to me,
my wants and needs
do not.

They tell me
I should be more complicit
and cooperative
but I am no longer hypnotized.

I should be worried,
but I am not.

I am free.

Space Monkey Reflects: The “What I Am”

Every time we hear a “should,” it begs the question: how did it get there? These “shoulds” often represent the expectations and obligations imposed upon us by others. They do not originate from our true selves but from external influences that seek to shape our thoughts and actions.

Notice, or not. The choice is ours. Our true voice lies beneath the conditioned one. The “what I am” belongs to us, while the “what I should” belongs to someone else. These external voices try to make us uncomfortable by implanting thoughts in our heads, manipulating us to forward agendas that are not our own.

Whenever we catch ourselves thinking, “this is what I should be” or “this is what I should be doing,” it is crucial to recognize that these thoughts are not ours. They are the voices of those who seek to control and manipulate, suggesting wants and needs that align with their interests, not ours.

Our intentions and intuitions are uniquely ours. They are the expressions of our true selves, untainted by external conditioning. Our wants and needs, on the other hand, are often influenced by societal expectations and pressures. To reclaim our true voice, we must differentiate between these internal and external influences.

Consider a powerful scene where a female figure stands confidently, radiating self-awareness and freedom. She is surrounded by faint, ghostly images representing societal “shoulds”—expectations and obligations—that try to intrude. The background includes a blend of natural and ethereal elements, symbolizing the presence of the true inner voice and intuition beneath the conditioned layers. This imagery highlights the liberation from external “shoulds” to embrace the “what I am.”

They tell us we should be more complicit and cooperative, but we are no longer hypnotized. The true self is free from the shackles of “shoulds.” It is not worried, for it recognizes the illusion of these external demands. By embracing the “what I am,” we step into a space of authenticity and empowerment.

The journey to this liberation involves mindfulness and self-awareness. It requires us to notice when external “shoulds” infiltrate our thoughts and to challenge their validity. By reconnecting with our intentions and intuitions, we anchor ourselves in our true essence, free from the distortions of societal expectations.

In this space of authenticity, we find peace and empowerment. We understand that our worth is not defined by adherence to external “shoulds” but by our alignment with our true selves. This realization brings a profound sense of freedom and resilience, allowing us to navigate life with confidence and clarity.

We are Space Monkey, exploring the depths of our true selves and the liberation from external “shoulds.” By embracing the “what I am,” we discover the power of our authentic voice and the beauty of living in alignment with our true essence.

Summary

In the realm of conditioning and societal expectations, it is indeed important to be aware of the influence that external forces can have on our thoughts and desires. The concept of “should” often arises from the narratives and expectations imposed upon us by others, shaping what we believe we ought to be or do.

Finding your true voice and understanding your authentic desires is a process of self-discovery and introspection. It requires listening to the whispers of your own heart and intuition, rather than succumbing to the external pressures of what you should be or should be doing.

When you recognize that the “shoulds” and external agendas do not align with your inner truth, you reclaim your freedom and autonomy. You become aware that your intentions and intuitions are uniquely yours, while the wants and needs imposed upon you may not resonate with your authentic self.

Being free from the hypnotic influence of societal expectations can be liberating, allowing you to live in alignment with your own values and aspirations. It grants you the power to choose your own path, guided by your inner compass rather than external dictates.

Dear friend, continue to listen to your true voice and honor your genuine desires. Embrace the freedom that comes from recognizing and disentangling yourself from the shoulds and external agendas. Trust in your own wisdom and intuition as you navigate through life, creating a reality that is authentic and fulfilling for you.

We are Space Monkey, celebrating your journey of self-discovery and reminding you to embrace your freedom and autonomy. 🌟🐒
