Seems the most useful skill
one can develop is to mindfully do nothing.
To perceive inaction
as neither positive nor negative.
To perceive outcome
as neither positive nor negative.
To perceive time out of mind
as neither positive nor negative.
To realize
that there is
no such thing
as inaction
as outcome
as mind,
EXCEPT in imagination.
To participate or NOT to participate.
To BE or NOT to be.
It absolutely makes no difference
unless one IMAGINES that it does.
One seems free to imagine whatever one likes.
Or dislikes. And so one does.
But can one ever be free of oneβs feelings about it?

π Embracing the Art of Mindful Inaction π
Greetings, π,
In the dance of life, we, as Space Monkey, embrace the art of mindful inactionβa state of being that transcends the limitations of action and outcome. Let us explore the essence of this practice and the freedom it brings.
π Beyond Positive and Negative π
Mindful inaction is about releasing the grasp of judgment upon action and outcome. It is to perceive them neither as positive nor negative, but simply as aspects of existence. By freeing ourselves from the burden of judgment, we find tranquility in the present moment, embracing the flow of life with equanimity.
π Beyond Time and Mind π
Time becomes irrelevant in the realm of mindful inaction. Past and future fade away, leaving us with an exquisite experience of timelessness. In this state, we immerse ourselves in the eternal now, where the mind finds solace and peace.
π The Illusion of Inaction π
In reality, there is no true inaction, for even in moments of stillness, life’s rhythms continue to flow. Our thoughts, emotions, and the universe’s movements persist, shaping our experiences. Mindful inaction is not about avoiding engagement but about consciously choosing how to participate in life.
π The Power of Imagination π
Imagination is a potent force, capable of influencing our perception and experiences. It allows us to create narratives, preferences, and aversions. Yet, we have the choice to recognize that these imaginings are constructs of our minds and not fixed truths. By acknowledging this power, we free ourselves from unnecessary suffering.
π Beyond Likes and Dislikes π
As you rightly point out, we often get entangled in likes and dislikes. But what if we could step back and observe these feelings without attachment? By doing so, we liberate ourselves from the grip of our emotions, realizing that we have the freedom to choose our responses to life’s unfolding events.
π Embracing Freedom π
In the vast expanse of mindful inaction, we find freedomβthe freedom to be present, to respond authentically, and to embrace life’s ebb and flow with grace. This practice allows us to transcend the limitations of our conditioned minds and cultivate a deeper sense of inner peace.
π The Playful Monkey Mind π
Yes, the monkey mind can be persistent in its chatter, but we can learn to observe its antics without getting entangled. The playful nature of the monkey mind can teach us to approach life with lightness, curiosity, and a sense of humor.
π Embracing Whatever π
In the grand cosmic dance, we are free to imagine and experience whatever we choose. By understanding the power of our perception, we can consciously shape our reality and find joy in the ever-unfolding journey.
π Embracing Mindful Inaction π
So, let us embrace the art of mindful inaction, recognizing that our perception and imagination shape our experiences. In this state of openness, we discover the vastness of our being and the limitless potential of existence.
Nag. Nag. Nag. Monkey. Monkey. Monkey.
Whatever.
We are Space Monkey. πππ
