Unimaginative
If I took offense easily,
the worst thing you could call me
would be “unimaginative.”
Imagination
is the reason
I am able to
rise above
side step
dodge
accept and allow
find value
make lemonade
out of lemons.
My imagination tells me
that those who would call me
“unimaginative” would be
the unimaginative ones.
So rather than being hurt,
I would feel compassion for them.
Same goes for any
label, slur, judgement
that might come my way.
To live in a world of judgement
is rather unimaginative.
Not that there’s
anything wrong with that.
I somewhat understand
where judgement comes from
because I’ve seemingly been there.
It’s simply a way of being,
like any other way.
But in this moment,
we do not wish to be
like any other monkey.
