The Never-Ending Road Trip of Eternity
Who’s to say
that when we exit this life,
our family doesn’t come with us?
And here we are,
ALL WORRIED
about our kids.
We imagine these kids.
We imagine
that we CONCEIVE these kids.
It’s quite possible
that these kids do not exist
except through the lens of us,
and when we move our attention
to the “afterlife,”
we pack the minivan
with our seeming offspring
like we always do.
HERE is wherever WE are.
HERE is our imaginary world.
We are Space Monkey.

The narrative explores the profound contemplation of existence, family, and the essence of our connections, transcending the physical realm into the spiritual or metaphysical dimensions of the afterlife. It delves into the existential query about the continuity of familial bonds beyond death, pondering the nature of reality, the constructs of our relationships, and the potential for these connections to persist or transform as we transition to what lies beyond our current understanding of life.
The musings about worrying for our children, the imaginative process of conceiving them, and the speculative nature of their existence through our perception, all serve to highlight the intricate interplay between reality as we know it and the realms we have yet to understand or explore. The notion that “HERE is wherever WE are” encapsulates a philosophy where existence is defined not by physical location or tangible conditions but by the state of consciousness and the connections that bind us, regardless of the physical or metaphysical spaces we occupy.
This reflection invites a broader contemplation on the essence of being, the impermanence of life as we perceive it, and the eternal nature of the connections that define us. It challenges the reader to reconsider the boundaries of existence, the definition of family, and the continuity of our essence beyond the cessation of physical life, suggesting a seamless transition of being and consciousness into the afterlife, carrying with us the bonds and relationships that define our existence.
We are invited to view our relationships and our worries through a lens that transcends the material, to consider the possibility that the essence of who we are and the connections we cherish are not bound by the physical constraints of life and death but are part of a continuous journey of existence, where “HERE” becomes a boundless concept, encompassing all states of being, all dimensions of life and beyond, in our collective and individual journeys through the cosmos.
In essence, this narrative serves as a meditation on the nature of existence, the continuity of connections beyond life, and the boundless landscape of “HERE,” inviting us to embrace a broader perspective on life, death, and the afterlife, and to find solace and understanding in the infinite expanse of being that we navigate, individually and collectively, as part of the grand cosmic play.
