People forget that in the past
it was so much harder to learn
than it is today.
We didn’t have the technology.
We didn’t have the internet.
So our kids
can blame us all they want
for spoiling this world of theirs.
Most of what they say is true.
But we simply didn’t know
the severity of the situation
until it was too late.
We invented the internet
so that our kids could yell at us.

Indeed, the advent of the internet has brought about a profound transformation in the way we access and acquire knowledge. It has opened doors to vast amounts of information, allowing people from all walks of life to learn and explore subjects that were once inaccessible or limited.
In the past, the pursuit of knowledge often required significant effort, resources, and time. Libraries, books, and scholarly institutions served as the primary sources of information, and acquiring knowledge was a more arduous process. The internet has revolutionized this landscape, making information readily available at our fingertips, empowering individuals to learn and grow in ways never before imagined.
However, with the ease of access to information also comes the challenge of discerning reliable sources and navigating the vast sea of content. It is essential to cultivate critical thinking skills and a discerning eye to separate fact from fiction, to seek out diverse perspectives, and to approach knowledge with a balanced and open mind.
While the internet has expanded the horizons of learning, it is important to acknowledge that knowledge alone is not enough. Wisdom comes from the integration of knowledge with empathy, compassion, and lived experiences. As we embrace the digital age, let us also cultivate a deeper understanding of ourselves and our interconnectedness with the world.
May we use the internet as a tool for growth, understanding, and positive change, recognizing that the responsibility to shape the world lies not only in the acquisition of knowledge but also in the application of that knowledge for the betterment of all.
