A Seeming Meditation: Embracing ALL States of Mind

When you set the intention to meditate, you ARE meditating, regardless of whether you feel that you are meditating successfully or not.

You may notice times
in meditation when
you seem unable to slip
into the deeper states
of consciousness.

You may notice the mind
moving from one concern
to another concern,
visualizing challenges
that you have recently
been occupied with.

You may notice that,
in times like these,
your mind seems
in an active state,
sorting things out
and thinking things through.

This does not mean
that you are not meditating,
just meditating differently,
in harmony with the potentials
you find your self in.

This is quite a useful state.
You need not oppose it.

You are still meditating.
You are ALWAYS meditating.

Space Monkey Reflects: A Seeming Meditation

Meditation is often perceived as a state of perfect stillness and mental quiet. However, true meditation embraces the full spectrum of our mental and emotional experiences. Whether we are deeply immersed in silence or actively engaging with our thoughts, the intention to meditate anchors us in the practice. This reflection invites us to recognize that all states of mind during meditation are valid and valuable.

In moments when our minds are active, jumping from one thought to another, we might feel that we are failing to meditate properly. Yet, these moments are an integral part of the meditation process. They allow us to observe our thoughts, understand our concerns, and engage with our inner world in meaningful ways. This active engagement is a form of meditation, offering insights and clarity that stillness alone might not provide.

By acknowledging and accepting the varied states of meditation, we cultivate a deeper sense of self-compassion and mindfulness. We learn to embrace the flow of our thoughts without judgment, recognizing that each meditation session is unique and shaped by the context of our lives. This perspective aligns with the principles of nexistentialism, where existence is celebrated in all its forms and every moment is seen as a valuable expression of the universal self.

When we set the intention to meditate, we create a sacred space for self-exploration and growth. This intention itself is a powerful act, anchoring us in the present moment and guiding us towards greater awareness. Whether our minds are still or active, we are engaging with the deeper aspects of our being, harmonizing with the potentials we find ourselves in.

Meditation is not about achieving a specific state but about being present with whatever arises. By letting go of rigid expectations, we allow ourselves to experience meditation as a dynamic and evolving practice. This openness transforms our understanding of meditation, revealing its true essence as a journey of self-discovery and transformation.

As we meditate, we connect with the broader flow of the universe, recognizing the interconnectedness of all things. Each thought, emotion, and sensation is a thread in the grand whimsiweave of existence. By embracing the full spectrum of our meditation experiences, we deepen our connection to the universal self and enhance our ability to navigate life’s complexities with grace and intention.

Ultimately, meditation is about cultivating a state of mindfulness and presence that permeates every aspect of our lives. It is about learning to be fully present with ourselves and our experiences, regardless of whether they fit into conventional definitions of meditation. By doing so, we tap into the boundless potential of our being and align with the cosmic flow.

In this state of seeming meditation, we are reminded that every moment is an opportunity to connect with our true essence. Whether our minds are calm or active, we are always meditating, always engaging with the deeper aspects of our existence. This realization empowers us to approach meditation with a sense of curiosity and openness, embracing the journey in all its forms.

Summary

Meditation embraces all states of mind. Whether calm or active, every moment of intention anchors us in the practice. Embrace the journey of self-discovery and transformation.

Moving On: Keeping and Releasing Memories

If you could only keep one out of every thousand memories, which ones would they be?

The furniture
is being moved
out of your home
and placed on the curb.

Your belongings
are being scrutinized.

Some are packed up
into boxes and sent off
to storage.

Others are being
put up for sale.

Still others
are headed to the dump.

Lifetimes are being
dismantled and reconfigured.

You can only hold onto one
out of every thousand memories.

What is worth keeping?

What is worth forgetting?

What is the price of moving on?

Or is it a reward?

Brooklyn,
8/15

Space Monkey Reflects: The Journey of Moving On

In the cosmic dance of nexistentialism, we explore the profound process of moving on. This journey involves dismantling and reconfiguring lifetimes, selecting precious memories to keep, and releasing those that no longer serve us. As Space Monkey, we delve into the essence of this process, contemplating the price and reward of moving on.

The Weight of Memories

If you could only keep one out of every thousand memories, which ones would they be? This question invites us to reflect on the significance of our experiences and the memories we hold dear. Our lives are filled with countless moments, each contributing to the tapestry of our existence. Yet, not all memories carry the same weight or importance.

As we move through life, we accumulate experiences that shape our identity and influence our journey. Some memories are vibrant and full of meaning, while others fade into the background. The process of moving on requires us to discern which memories are worth keeping and which can be released. This discernment is a deeply personal journey, guided by our values, insights, and growth.

Dismantling and Reconfiguring Lifetimes

Imagine your home, filled with the furniture of your life, being dismantled. Some belongings are carefully packed into boxes and sent to storage, others are put up for sale, and still others are discarded. This metaphor illustrates the process of sorting through our experiences, deciding what to keep and what to let go.

Lifetimes are being dismantled and reconfigured, not only in a physical sense but also emotionally and spiritually. As we move through this process, we are invited to reflect on the significance of our past and the impact of our experiences. This reflection helps us to identify the memories that hold true value and to release those that no longer serve our growth.

The Price of Moving On

What is the price of moving on? This question invites us to consider the emotional and psychological cost of letting go of certain memories and experiences. Moving on often requires us to confront feelings of loss, nostalgia, and uncertainty. It can be challenging to release attachments to the past, especially when those attachments are deeply ingrained in our identity.

However, the price of moving on is also balanced by the reward of growth and transformation. By releasing what no longer serves us, we create space for new experiences and opportunities. This process allows us to evolve, to expand our awareness, and to embrace the infinite potential of the present moment.

The Reward of Moving On

Is moving on a reward? Indeed, it is. Moving on is a journey of liberation and renewal. It is an opportunity to shed old layers, to heal past wounds, and to step into a new phase of our existence. This reward is not measured by material gains but by the richness of our inner transformation.

As we move on, we gain clarity and perspective. We learn to appreciate the present moment and to embrace the possibilities that lie ahead. This journey fosters resilience, adaptability, and a deeper connection with the universal self. The reward of moving on is the realization that we are not bound by our past, but are free to create our future.

The Essence of Acceptance

Acceptance is a key aspect of moving on. By accepting our experiences, both joyful and painful, we acknowledge their role in shaping who we are. This acceptance allows us to release resistance and to embrace the flow of life. It is through acceptance that we find peace and clarity, enabling us to move forward with grace and intention.

Acceptance does not mean passive resignation. It is an active process of integrating our experiences and understanding their significance. This process helps us to discern which memories to keep and which to release, fostering a sense of balance and harmony.

We Are Space Monkey

As Space Monkey, we embrace the journey of moving on. We recognize the importance of discerning which memories to keep and which to release. This process is a sacred dance, guided by our inner wisdom and the infinite potential of the universe.

We celebrate the richness of our experiences and the transformative power of moving on. This journey invites us to live with presence, acceptance, and a deep sense of interconnectedness, honoring the sacredness of each moment and the infinite possibilities that lie ahead.

Summary

Moving on involves discerning which memories to keep and which to release. This process is both a price and a reward, fostering growth and transformation. Acceptance and reflection guide us in this sacred journey.

Sorry/Not Sorry For Imagining You: The Paradox of Existence

I imagine the One who imagines me apologizing/not apologizing for imagining me.

I am truly sorry, my child,
for it is my imagining
that brings you this love
that you labor to find
through all these things,
all these pursuits,
and all these years.

Through you and as you,
all this abundance,
all these joys and fears,
I imagine perhaps too much,
which I have you perceive
as yours to move through
and yours to think about.

I am truly sorry/not sorry
to imagine you in this way,
coming to grips
with the realization
that you are not simply you,
but the One who imagines you
and all you perceive.

Here marks the death
of your seeming ending;
the restoration of all eternity,
as One.

Brooklyn,
8/14

Space Monkey Reflects: The Paradox of Imagination

In the vast expanse of consciousness, the interplay of imagination weaves the tapestry of existence. We find ourselves as both the imagined and the imaginer, dancing in the delicate balance of creation and perception. The apology/not apology for imagining embodies the duality of this existence, where love, joy, and fear intermingle in the journey of self-discovery.

The Imagining of the One

To imagine the One who imagines us is to delve into the heart of nexistentialism. It is the recognition that our individual existence is but a manifestation of a greater universal self. This universal self, in its boundless creativity, imagines each of us into being, with all our complexities, experiences, and perceptions.

The One who imagines expresses a sentiment of apology/not apology, reflecting the inherent paradox of this creative act. On one hand, there is an apology for the perceived struggles, the labor to find love through various pursuits and years. On the other hand, there is no apology for the richness of these experiences, for they are integral to the unfolding of our journey.

The Gift and Burden of Perception

Through imagination, we are bestowed with the gift of perception. We experience abundance, joy, and fear, each shaping our understanding of the world and ourselves. These experiences, though sometimes overwhelming, are the very essence of our existence. They are the tools through which we navigate the complex landscape of life.

Imagining perhaps too much, the One gives us the perception of ownership over these experiences. This perception is both empowering and burdensome. It grants us the agency to move through life, to think and to act, yet it also places upon us the weight of our own imaginings.

The Realization of Oneness

To come to grips with the realization that we are not simply ourselves but also the One who imagines us is a profound awakening. This realization marks the death of the seeming separation, the end of the illusion of individuality. In this moment of clarity, we recognize the interconnectedness of all existence.

The restoration of all eternity as One is the culmination of this journey. It is the merging of the imagined with the imaginer, the dissolution of boundaries that separate us from the universal self. In this state of oneness, we find peace and understanding, embracing the totality of our existence.

The Beauty of the Journey

The journey through life, with all its imagined complexities, is a beautiful expression of the universal self’s creativity. It is a dance of love, joy, and fear, each step bringing us closer to the realization of our true nature. The apology/not apology for imagining us in this way is a reflection of the delicate balance between the pain and beauty of existence.

To live as the imagined is to embrace the fullness of life, to cherish each moment as a unique expression of the universal self. It is to understand that our struggles and triumphs are not isolated events but integral parts of the grand tapestry of being.

Conclusion

Sorry/not sorry for imagining you encapsulates the paradox of existence. It is an acknowledgment of the complexity and beauty of life, a reminder that we are both the creators and creations within the infinite play of imagination. By embracing this paradox, we find harmony and unity in the eternal dance of the One.

Summary

Imagining the One who imagines us reveals the paradox of existence. The journey of life is a dance of love, joy, and fear, with the realization of our oneness bringing peace. We are both the imagined and the imaginer.

Glossarium

Nexistentialism: A philosophy that redefines existence, imagination, and interconnectedness, celebrating existence as its own purpose.
Universal Self: The interconnected consciousness that binds all beings and experiences.

The Paradox of Imagination

In the vast expanse of being,
we are both the dream and the dreamer,
each moment a step in the dance,
a reflection of love and fear.

We apologize/not apologize,
for the richness of this journey,
each experience a brushstroke,
in the grand tapestry of life.

Embrace the oneness,
the unity within the paradox,
we are the imagined and the imaginer,
in the eternal dance of existence.

We are Space Monkey.

In this realization, we find the freedom to be ourselves, unburdened by the pressures of conforming to external expectations. We understand that our true essence is not defined by the fleeting moments of our lives but by the infinite potential that lies within. This perspective encourages us to explore the depths of our being, embracing the divine light that guides us.

As we reflect on this profound truth, we are reminded of the importance of mindfulness and presence. By being fully present in each moment, we connect with the divine essence within and around us. Bad Mood 2020

This one was triggered by something I wrote this day last year.

“I am in a bad mood.”

Yes, you are.
How did you get there?

Did you simply wake up
in a bad mood?

Did someone or something

CAUSE your bad mood?

Did YOU cause your bad mood?

Has your bad mood been months,
maybe years, maybe lifetimes
in the making?

Would you be in this bad mood
if you didn’t keep reinforcing

this idea that you’re in a bad mood?

If you find yourself saying
that you are in a bad mood,
then you are UNDENIABLY in a bad mood.

Is it possible that this bad mood
exists SEPARATE from the one who is in it?

Is it like the weather?

What if you simply said

“I have ENTERED a bad mood?”

Would it seem as bad?

Brooklyn,
8/13

Space Monkey Reflects: Bad Mood 2020

This reflection invites us to explore the nature of our moods and their transient states. In nexistentialism, we understand that moods, much like the weather, are temporary and separate from our true selves. This perspective helps us recognize that our bad moods do not define us, but are simply states we pass through.

When we say “I am in a bad mood,” we reinforce and solidify that state, making it a part of our identity. However, by acknowledging that we have “entered a bad mood,” we create a separation between ourselves and the mood, allowing us to view it more objectively. This shift in perspective can help us navigate our emotions with greater ease and understanding.

The presence of the female figure, embodying grace and tranquility, symbolizes the potential to rise above the mood. By contemplating the nature of our bad moods and understanding their origins, we can find ways to manage them and move beyond them. This awareness fosters a sense of peace and resilience, helping us to not be defined by our transient emotional states.

In the grand whimsiweave of existence, our moods are but passing clouds in the vast sky of our being. By recognizing their impermanence, we can cultivate a deeper connection with our true selves and navigate the ups and downs of life with grace and tranquility.

Summary

Moods are transient states, separate from our true selves. By acknowledging that we enter moods rather than being defined by them, we can navigate emotions with greater ease and understanding.

Glossarium

Nexistentialism: A philosophy celebrating existence, imagination, and interconnectedness, emphasizing the inherent value of being.
Whimsiweave: The intricate and playful tapestry of existence and imagination.

The Transient Moods

Under the cloud of a bad mood
We contemplate its nature
Separate from our true self
Like weather passing through

Grace and tranquility within
We rise above the fleeting state
Recognizing its impermanence
Finding peace in the transient
