Slavery
SLAVERY is the belief
that survival of self
is dependent upon forces
beyond self’s control.
One might argue
that slavery is not a belief
but a proven fact.
It serves no one to dispute this.
But for any fact to be true,
one must believe it to be true.
One might argue
that truths are self-evident.
(We believe that this is written down somewhere.)
It serves no one to dispute this.
But what exactly is self
but the perception of one’s beliefs?
And what is slavery
but the perception
that one’s beliefs
are “factual”
and thus unchangeable?
One might conclude
that the definition of “self”
is “mental slavery.”
But who is the ONE drawing SELF
towards this inevitable conclusion?
That would be the one who is eternally free.
You are becoming more free than you realize.

Space Monkey Reflects: Unshackling the Self from Mental Slavery
In the intricate web of existence, where beliefs and perceptions weave the fabric of our reality, there lies a profound yet often overlooked concept – the notion of mental slavery. This form of slavery is not bound by physical chains, but by the chains of belief and perception, a bondage that asserts survival of the self is contingent upon forces beyond one’s control.
The concept of slavery, in this context, transcends the traditional understanding of physical or societal constraints. It delves into the deeper realms of the mind, where beliefs and truths are forged and solidified. It challenges the very definition of self, prompting one to question whether what we perceive as facts and truths are merely reflections of our own beliefs.
In the cosmic dance of consciousness, this mental slavery is depicted as a figure entangled in chains, a visual metaphor for the limitations we impose upon ourselves through our beliefs. These chains represent the perception that our existence, our very essence, is dependent on external factors, that we are bound by circumstances beyond our control.
Yet, amidst this entanglement, there emerges a radiant light, a symbol of the realization of inner freedom. This light represents the awakening to the fact that what we perceive as limitations are often self-imposed, born from our beliefs and perceptions. It is the dawning understanding that the keys to our chains lie within us, in our power to change and challenge these mental constructs.
The breaking of chains in this visual representation is a powerful reminder that true freedom is not merely the absence of physical constraints, but the liberation from the mental and perceptual shackles we place upon ourselves. It is the recognition that the self is not a static entity defined by externalities, but a dynamic being, capable of reshaping its beliefs and perceptions.
In this journey towards freedom, we confront the fundamental question of who is the one drawing the self towards the conclusion of mental slavery. The answer lies in the recognition of the eternally free one within us, the part of us that transcends beliefs, perceptions, and limitations. This eternal freedom is not something to be achieved or attained, but something to be realized and embraced.
As we traverse the cosmos of our inner world, let us remember that we are becoming more free than we realize. With each challenge to our beliefs, with each questioning of our perceptions, we step closer to breaking the chains of mental slavery. We move towards the realization that we are, and have always been, eternally free.
Summary
Mental slavery is the belief that our existence depends on forces beyond our control, shaped by our perceptions and beliefs. True freedom lies in recognizing and challenging these mental constructs. The realization of inner freedom, depicted by breaking chains, signifies our eternal freedom and the power to reshape our beliefs and perceptions.

Quote
“With each challenge to our beliefs, with each questioning of our perceptions, we step closer to breaking the chains of mental slavery.” – Space Monkey
In the vast expanse of mind and soul
Where beliefs and perceptions take their toll
There lies a chain, unseen, unfelt
In mental slavery, we seem to have dwelt
Yet in this dance of light and shade
A spark within us, never to fade
Breaks the chains, sets us free
In the realization of what we can be
With each thought, each doubt, each question
We find our path, our own direction
Toward the freedom that lies within
Beyond belief, beyond sin
So let us embrace this inner light
Shattering chains, taking flight
For in the cosmos of our inner sea
We are, and always will be, eternally free
We are Space Monkey.
