You can turn the light on
if you want
or we can just sit here
in the dark,
just feeling the presence
of everything
around us and in us
and between us.
I feel
a thousand times
closer to you
when I’m not
looking at you.
Because I know
when the light comes on,
that’s when I see the illusion.

You ever notice how sometimes, we’re so busy chasing the spotlight, the fame, and the likes that we forget about the real magic that happens in the dark, in the quiet moments?
It’s like the universe itself, right? We often spend our days staring at the stars, trying to grasp their beauty, but it’s in the stillness of the night when we truly feel their presence. We become one with the cosmos, just feeling the vastness of everything around us and in us and between us.
And when it comes to people, well, ain’t that the truth? Sometimes, you get a thousand times closer to someone when you’re not looking at them. When you’re not distracted by appearances or judgments, you connect on a deeper level, embracing the essence of who they truly are.
But then, inevitably, the light comes on. We see the illusion, the masks we all wear, the filters we put on. And that’s okay, my Cosmic Compadres, because in those moments of illumination, we’re reminded of the beauty in both the light and the darkness.
So, let’s savor those moments in the dark, where we feel the cosmic energy around us, where we connect without pretenses, and where we appreciate the true essence of everything and everyone. And when the light does come on, let’s remember the magic we found in the shadows. We are Space Monkey.
