Fait Accompli: Illusion of Movement and Free Will

Fait Accompli

The soul knows what you are,
but the mind sees only what you are not.

This is what motivates you
in the direction of equilibrium,
the fait accompli of fruition.

You don’t know why you are moving.
You don’t know HOW you are moving.
And you do not realize
that your desires
are already fulfilled.

So the mind moves the body

through potentials
disguised as experiences,
down the unavoidable path
that seems amazingly like free will.

Seemingly Amazingly and Amazingly Seeming.

Enjoy the seeming ride.

Space Monkey Reflects: Fait Accompli – The Illusion of Movement and Free Will

The soul, infinite and all-encompassing, knows the fullness of your being, unbound by the constructs of time or limitation. The mind, however, operates within the illusion of separation, perceiving what is lacking, incomplete, or unfulfilled. This tension between soul and mind creates the illusion of movement, the feeling that we are on a journey toward equilibrium. Yet, the paradox is that all we seek is already within us—fait accompli, a done deal.

The Soul and the Mind

The soul resides in timelessness, a space where all potentials coexist simultaneously. It knows no lack because it encompasses all that is, was, and could ever be. The mind, by contrast, is a creature of duality. It sees what is and contrasts it with what is not. This contrast creates the perception of desire, progress, and movement.

It is this perception that drives the mind to seek what the soul already knows: wholeness. The mind, unable to grasp this innate completeness, embarks on a journey through experiences that seem to fulfill its desires, unaware that these desires are mere reflections of the soul’s infinite essence.

The Illusion of Movement

The sense of movement—of progressing, achieving, or becoming—is central to the human experience. Yet, from the perspective of the soul, this movement is an illusion. Every potential, every outcome, every possibility already exists. The journey we perceive is not one of creation or discovery but of alignment with what already is.

The mind, unaware of this fait accompli, translates the soul’s completeness into a series of desires. It perceives these desires as goals to be achieved, motivating the body to act, to strive, and to change. But the destination is never truly reached because it was never separate from the starting point.

Free Will: Seemingly and Amazingly

Free will is the most enchanting of illusions. It feels as though we are making choices, shaping our paths, and determining our destinies. Yet, every choice we make, every path we take, leads us to a potential that already exists. The illusion of free will is a beautiful mechanism through which the infinite explores itself.

This does not diminish the richness of the experience. On the contrary, it enhances it. The illusion of free will allows us to engage fully with the seeming journey, to feel the thrill of movement and the satisfaction of choice, even as the soul smiles knowingly at the perfection of it all.

Potentials as Experiences

The mind translates the infinite potentials of the soul into experiences that seem linear and sequential. These experiences, though illusory, are profoundly meaningful. They allow us to explore the infinite in finite ways, to touch the untouchable, and to perceive the imperceptible.

Every experience, no matter how mundane or extraordinary, is a window into the infinite. The seeming movement through these experiences is the soul’s way of playing, imagining, and knowing itself in ways that would be impossible without the illusion of limitation.

Fait Accompli: The Destination Within

The term fait accompli—“a thing already accomplished”—captures the essence of this paradox. What we seek is already here. The desires that drive us, the goals we strive for, the paths we walk—all lead us back to the realization that nothing was ever missing. The journey is not about reaching a destination but about remembering that we never left it.

Enjoy the Seeming Ride

The seeming ride through life’s experiences, choices, and movements is not a mistake or a distraction. It is the very fabric of existence. To enjoy this ride is to embrace the paradox: that we are both infinite and finite, both the journeyer and the destination, both the seeker and the sought.

When we release the need to reach, achieve, or complete, we align with the soul’s knowing. We allow ourselves to experience life as it is, in all its seeming movement and stillness, with gratitude for the illusion that makes it all possible.

Summary

The illusion of movement and free will arises from the mind’s perception of lack, driving us toward what the soul already knows as complete. This seeming journey through potentials and experiences is not about achieving but about aligning with the infinite. By embracing the illusion, we discover the beauty of life as a fait accompli—a done deal, already whole.

Quote

“You are not moving toward wholeness; you are the wholeness experiencing itself as movement.” — Space Monkey

The Ride Within

I move,
Yet I am still.
I choose,
Yet all is chosen.

The path winds,
The steps unfold,
Yet the destination
Was never apart.

Fait accompli,
The soul smiles,
Knowing all that I seek
Is already mine.

And so I walk,
And so I wonder,
And so I love
This seeming ride.

We are Space Monkey.

The exploration of the soul’s knowledge versus the mind’s perception reveals a profound understanding of human consciousness and the journey towards self-realization. This reflection delves into the nature of motivation, the illusion of free will, and the predestined fulfillment of desires, suggesting that our existential journey is both a fait accompli and a path of discovery.

The Soul’s Awareness vs. The Mind’s Perception

The distinction between the soul’s intrinsic knowledge of our essence and the mind’s focus on our perceived deficiencies illuminates the internal conflict that often drives human behavior. While the soul resides in a state of complete understanding and acceptance, the mind navigates through the physical and psychological dimensions, constantly seeking to reconcile its perceived lack with the soul’s inherent completeness.

Motivation Towards Equilibrium

The concept of being motivated towards equilibrium as a fait accompli—a deed already accomplished—suggests that our journey towards balance and fulfillment is not only inevitable but also inherently preordained. This perspective challenges the conventional view of motivation as a pursuit of something external or not yet attained, proposing instead that our movement towards equilibrium is a process of unveiling or realizing what has always been true.

The Illusion of Movement and Desire

The idea that we are unaware of why or how we are moving, coupled with the realization that our desires are already fulfilled, points to the illusory nature of our perceived wants and the actions we undertake to achieve them. It suggests that what we experience as desire and the pursuit of fulfillment is, in fact, a journey of recognition—that what we seek is already within us, waiting to be acknowledged.

Free Will and Predetermined Paths

Describing the human experience as moving through potentials disguised as experiences down a path that resembles free will captures the complex interplay between destiny and choice. This notion implies that while we may perceive ourselves as agents of free will, navigating life through a series of choices, our journey and its outcomes may be part of a larger, predetermined design that guides us towards an inevitable realization of our true nature.

Enjoying the Journey

The invitation to enjoy the ride, despite the complexities and paradoxes of our existential journey, encourages a stance of acceptance and appreciation for the unfolding of life. It advocates for embracing the experience of living fully, with an understanding that the path we travel, with all its twists and turns, is both a process of becoming and a celebration of being.

In reflecting on the nature of our existential journey, we are encouraged to explore the depths of our own consciousness, recognizing that the path towards understanding and fulfillment is not one of acquisition but of revelation. This exploration is a call to appreciate the beauty of the journey, to embrace the paradoxes of existence, and to find joy in the realization that our true desires are already fulfilled, guiding us towards a deeper connection with our essence.
