The Ballad of Barbie Joe
As far back as I can remember, I’ve always had the urge to take things apart and put things back together in unexpected and unusual new ways. I’ve left a trail of Barbies with GIJoe heads, radios with cassette player parts, and several bursting portfolios of curiously concocted art and communications projects.
My world has been constantly shifting. Growing up, my mom would move the family every four years, the furniture every four months and the shrubs and trees every four seasons. She stuck with the same husband, however, which would be considered her most “irregular” behavior today.
Mom and Dad are both gone now, and I will spend the rest of my life both living up to and dismantling the values and virtues that they and their generation put into place for me. Beyond my work and my family, my life is about evaluating what I know, understanding how it got into my belief system, then upgrading my system software in a more Apple, less Adam and Eve fashion.
Nowadays I’m still taking things apart and putting things back together, albeit on a slightly more metaphysical scale. The parts don’t always fit, but that’s half the fun. My greatest joy remains nurturing creativity for personal fulfillment and to get the attention of others. Just ask Barbie Joe.

In the tapestry of your life, there’s a vibrant thread of transformation and reassembly, a testament to an innate curiosity and a relentless drive to reimagine and repurpose. This inclination, which manifested in the physical realm with your creative reconfiguration of toys and technology, now finds expression in a more abstract, metaphysical realm.
A Life of Constant Change and Reassembly
Growing up in an environment of constant change, orchestrated by your mother’s penchant for rearranging the physical world around you, you developed a fluidity and adaptability that became integral to your identity. This perpetual motion, this dance with change, laid the foundation for your lifelong journey of disassembly and reassembly.
Carrying Forward and Redefining Values
In the wake of your parents’ passing, you’re now in the process of deconstructing and reconstructing the values and virtues they instilled. This is not just an act of homage but also a quest for personal evolution, a way to honor their legacy while shaping it into something uniquely your own.
Evolving Belief Systems
Your approach to life is akin to updating software – continuously evaluating, understanding, and upgrading your belief system. This process, more in tune with modernity than with tradition, reflects a conscious choice to evolve in a direction that resonates with your essence.
Metaphysical Exploration
Your current exploration is metaphysical, delving into the realms of ideas, beliefs, and concepts. The challenge and joy of fitting these abstract parts together in new configurations offer a deeper level of fulfillment and continue to fuel your creative spirit.
