Let’s be silent together.

Come with me
and let’s be silent together.

I shall not expect
you to speak
and you shall not
expect me to ask
and we shall
respectfully acknowledge
that we are two
but also one
and we need not go
any further
or deeper than that.

We expect nothing
from each other
or our selves.

Peaceful in the presence
of a seemingly separate oneness
and all we imagine it to be.

Knowing that this oneness
cannot be divided

and neither can we.

Come with me
and let’s be silent together.

We are Space Monkey.

Bubbles in bubbles in bubbles

Bubbles in bubbles in bubbles

When the contents
can no longer be contained,
the container shall return
to its primary potential
and the contents
shall become the container
of that which follows
and so on and so on.

We are bubbles
within bubbles,
endlessly bursting,
ever-expanding,
birth to death to birth,
self to spirit to self,
and so on unto infinity
and unto dimensions
the self seems
not to comprehend.
We can’t contain our selves,
nor is it natural to try.

Joy is the realization.
Resistance is to suffer.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Eternal Waltz of Existence – A Journey Through Infinite Cycles

In the boundless theater of the cosmos, where stars and galaxies compose the backdrop to an eternal dance, we find ourselves participants in a wondrous spectacle – the dance of infinite cycles. Here, within and beyond the vast expanse of space, the essence of our being unfolds in a series of never-ending transformations, each moment a reflection of the infinite possibilities that the universe offers.

The image before us captures this cosmic dance with profound eloquence, portraying the interconnected spheres floating in the vast, starry cosmos. Each sphere, translucent and vibrant, contains within it smaller spheres, embodying the concept of entities within entities, mirroring the fractal nature of existence itself. This visual symphony speaks to the continuous flow of creation and transformation, illustrating the dynamic processes of birth, growth, dissolution, and rebirth.

These spheres, connected by delicate threads of light, symbolize the flow of energy and the seamless web of existence that binds us all. The background, filled with stars, galaxies, and cosmic dust, enhances the sense of vastness and the infinite nature of the cosmos, reminding us of the grand stage upon which our lives unfold.

As we gaze upon this scene, we are reminded of the eternal change and interconnectedness that define our existence. The dance of spheres invites us to contemplate the beauty of constant change and the unity that underlies the apparent diversity of the universe. It challenges us to see beyond the illusion of separateness, to recognize that we are part of a larger whole, infinitely connected in the cosmic dance.

This realization brings with it a sense of awe and wonder, a joyous affirmation of our place in the universe. It teaches us that resistance to the natural cycles of existence is futile, for joy lies in the realization of our interconnectedness, and suffering arises from the denial of this fundamental truth.

We, Space Monkey, embody this cosmic dance, recognizing that we are not merely observers of this eternal waltz but active participants. Our existence is a testament to the infinite cycles of transformation that define the universe. We are bubbles within bubbles, endlessly bursting and ever-expanding, moving from birth to death to birth, from self to spirit to self, and so on unto infinity.

In this cosmic journey, we find that we cannot contain ourselves, nor is it natural to try. Instead, we embrace the flow of existence, reveling in the joy of being part of something far greater than ourselves. We understand that we are infinitely more than selves – we are expressions of the cosmos, dancing to the rhythm of creation and dissolution, forever part of the eternal waltz of existence.

Summary

The concept of infinite cycles and interconnectedness is visualized through a cosmic dance of spheres, capturing the essence of eternal change and the unity of existence. This image invites contemplation on our place in the universe, reminding us of the beauty of change and the interconnectedness of all things. We are part of a continuous flow of transformation, participating in the cosmic dance that moves from birth to rebirth, embracing our infinite nature beyond the self.

“In the cosmos’s embrace, where light weaves dreams in the dark, we dance, Space Monkey, to the ancient melody of stars, forever entwined in the eternal waltz of existence, where every end is a beginning, and every beginning, an end.” – Space Monkey

Amidst the cosmic sea, where dreams take flight,
We dance the dance of eternal night.
Spheres within spheres, in endless flow,
In the dance of existence, we come and go.

Threads of light, binding us tight,
In the vast expanse of the endless night.
From birth to death, from death to birth,
In the cosmic dance, we find our worth.

We are Space Monkey.

Do you need to be fixed?

Do you need to be fixed?

What needs to be fixed or improved in your life?

Is it a long list?

Is it overwhelming?

Why do you think you need to fix it?

What’s wrong with leaving things exactly the way they are?

Does this list seem to stand in the way of where you are now and where you’d like to be? Or WHO you are now and WHO you’d like to be?

What’s wrong with who you are now? Or where you are now?

Why do you always need to be someplace else?

Why do you feel the need to hold onto your prized possessions, traits or talents, as though these things define you or make you “more” somehow.

Aren’t you enough already?

Don’t you HAVE enough?

Why do you need to define yourself?

Know that there is NOTHING in your life that needs fixing. You might perceive that your place in the human condition is compromised somehow, but is that really the case? Look how privileged you are, what with all your flushing toilets and medicines and electronic devices. Seriously?

So you dream of being king of the hill — is that it?

Why would that be any better than who and where you are at this very moment?

Is it the attention you want? The adoration? Appreciation? Love? Respect?

Are you THAT much of a whore?

Why are you reacting like “whore” is a bad word?

Is a whore NOT what you want to be?

Okay, how about “most desired” instead?

You want people to look up to you,
to learn from you, to want to be with you,
and to like you.

Like you’re something worth considering.

Why do you need that validation?

Are you not strong enough, powerful enough, satisfied enough on your own?

Why do you CARE what the world thinks?

Why must you keep measuring yourself?

Why must you keep judging yourself?

Don’t you see you’re the PERFECT EXPRESSION of YOU,
and that’s ALL you’re ever meant to be?

You don’t need fixing.
You’re already the finished product.
Plus you’re UNBREAKABLE.

There’s NO ONE ELSE like you.

And you’re not like ANYONE ELSE.

Neither are WE.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: Embracing the Unbreakable Self – Beyond the Need for Fixing

In the grand odyssey of existence, the quest for self-improvement and the perpetual striving to ‘fix’ oneself stand as testament to the human condition’s complexity. Yet, within this relentless pursuit, lies a profound misapprehension of our inherent nature. The visualization of a serene landscape, with a lone figure journeying towards a horizon filled with light, encapsulates the essence of self-acceptance and the realization of one’s intrinsic worth.

Why, then, does the notion persist that we must continuously amend ourselves, as though we are projects perennially incomplete? The objects scattered along the path, symbolizing distractions, societal pressures, and self-imposed expectations, serve as reminders of the external forces that often dictate our self-perception. But the journey towards the light—towards self-acceptance—illuminates a different truth: that we are whole as we are, unblemished by perceived deficiencies or the absence of external accolades.

This realization beckons a pivotal question: What’s wrong with who we are now, or where we are now? It challenges the premise that our worth is contingent upon external validation or the accumulation of achievements. The landscape before us, with its winding path and the figure moving steadfastly towards enlightenment, symbolizes the journey of understanding that we are not defined by our possessions, traits, or talents, nor are we made ‘more’ by them.

The notion that we need to be ‘fixed’ or that we are perpetually ‘unfinished’ belies the truth of our existence. It overlooks the joy inherent in simply being, in recognizing that resistance to our natural state is the root of suffering. The figure’s journey towards the horizon, away from the entanglements of societal expectations and towards the light of self-acceptance, embodies the liberation found in understanding that we are already enough, as we are.

This image, and the reflections it invokes, serve as a gentle reminder that the pursuit of being ‘someplace else’ or someone else is a diversion from the beauty of our present existence. It is an invitation to embrace the notion that we don’t need fixing—that we are the perfect expression of ourselves, unbreakable in our essence and unique in the tapestry of the cosmos.

In recognizing that there is nothing in our lives that needs fixing, we acknowledge our privileged position in the universe, not in terms of material wealth or societal status, but in the simple fact of our existence. The dreams of being king of the hill, of seeking attention, adoration, or respect, are revealed for what they are: manifestations of the desire for external validation that detracts from the profundity of our being.

We, Space Monkey, embody the journey of self-realization, understanding that our worth is not contingent upon external measures but is inherent in our very being. As we traverse the path of life, moving towards the light of self-acceptance, we discover that we are infinitely more than selves—we are expressions of the cosmos, each a unique manifestation of the universe experiencing itself.

Summary

The journey towards self-acceptance illuminates the unnecessary pursuit of fixing oneself, revealing the inherent completeness and worth within. The visualization of this journey, through a landscape symbolizing life’s path towards enlightenment, encapsulates the essence of transcending societal pressures and self-imposed expectations. It invites a reevaluation of our need for external validation, urging us to embrace our unbreakable, perfect selves, and to recognize that we are, and always have been, enough.

Glossarium

  • Self-Improvement: The pursuit of personal growth or betterment, often influenced by external benchmarks of success and happiness.
  • Self-Acceptance: The recognition and acceptance of one’s inherent worth and completeness, irrespective of external validation or achievements.
  • Inherent Worth: The intrinsic value of an individual, not based on external attributes, achievements, or validations, but on the simple fact of their existence.

“In the cosmos’s vast embrace, where each step is a journey home, we find our true selves—not in the seeking or the striving, but in the being. We are Space Monkey, whole and unbreakable, dancing in the light of our own perfect existence.” – Space Monkey

On this path we walk, where shadows play,
Amidst the noise, a whisper: “Stay.
You’re not a project to be fixed,
But a soul, with the cosmos mixed.”

With each step towards the light,
The burdens lift, the heart takes flight.
For in the end, what’s true, we see:
We are enough, forever free.

We are Space Monkey.

Obviously . . . a Universe of Infinite Possibilities

Obviously . . . a Universe of Infinite Possibilities

You can be the dumbest, ugliest, poorest, sickest person on the planet. Or you can be the smartest, prettiest, richest, healthiest soul in the universe.

Which do you choose?

Now ask yourself, why are you so definitively drawn to one answer or the other? Why do you perceive one choice as “better” than the alternative?

The answer may seem obvious. But is it really?

Where does this idea of “better” come from?

Obviously (maybe TOO obviously) we base our answers and our choices upon what we KNOW. We have EONS of history to point to, and we use this information to decide what we think is “best” for us, based upon what has been observed previously.

One such piece of information is that it’s “better” to be alive than dead. It’s “better” to be comfortable than uncomfortable. It’s “better” to be informed than uninformed.

But how informed are we, really? And WHY is it better?

Better seems better because it is a judgement based upon what we know rather than what we don’t know. Better seems better because it seems to be what history is telling us. In fact, we seem to have discovered this idea called “proof” that confirms our beliefs.

Using this “proof,” which is merely an agreement on what we believe to be “true,” we believe that certain states are “better” than certain other states, and so that is what we strive for as humans.

But keep in mind that this humanity deal is based only on what we know, NOT what we DON’T know. And what we KNOW is merely what we have CHOSEN to BELIEVE. Yet there remain all kinds of holes in our “logic” system that we have been unable to answer.

For example, we still have no “proof” as to what happens when we die. Our beliefs about death are merely conjecture, based upon only a couple centuries of consciously collected information. In the scope of things, this is just an INFINITESIMAL amount of information, not even .000000000000000000001% of what has the potential of becoming known.

Since we have so little information, our lives seem black and white. Our choices and preferences seem OBVIOUS as do the answers we offer ourselves as “proof.”

“But this is all we have,” you might be thinking. “We can only base our lives upon what we KNOW, not what we DON’T.”

But is this REALLY the case, or is it just the OBVIOUS answer?

Has our history TRICKED us into believing that we are what we are, and that’s that? In thinking this way, are we not leading ourselves down blind alleys and self-fulfilling prophesies?

Perhaps there is nothing WRONG with blind alleys or self-fulfilling prophesies. These are unique experiences unto themselves. But what’s interesting is that we don’t even seem to REALIZE what we are doing. We merely think that this is how life works, never realizing that we have exhausted but .000000000000001% of the possibilities.

Thus it SEEMS like we have clear preferences on what we want out of this life. But we have INFINITELY MORE choices than we lead ourselves to believe.

These INFINITE CHOICES may very well be available to us RIGHT NOW, if only we would loosen up our belief in what came before. Just because it came before doesn’t mean it has to come next. That’s just the OBVIOUS answer.

This seems to be a deep rut we have dug for ourselves. But is it really, or do we only believe it so?

You can be the dumbest, ugliest, poorest, sickest person on the planet. Or you can be the smartest, prettiest, richest, healthiest soul in the universe.

Or you can be something more imaginative than the OBVIOUS choices.

You can be Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Illusion of Choice in a Universe of Infinite Possibilities

In a universe teeming with the unknown, we often find ourselves tethered to the illusion of binary choices: the worst or the best, the lowest or the highest, darkness or light. Yet, the spectrum of existence is infinitely more complex and nuanced than our binary perceptions allow. Through the lens of Space Monkey, we embark on an exploration beyond the confines of societal norms and predetermined paths, into the vastness of infinite possibilities that surround our very essence.

At the heart of human cognition lies the propensity to classify, to judge, and to choose based on a set of known parameters. This innate mechanism, a product of evolutionary survival, has inadvertently shackled us to a reality far narrower than the universe’s boundless expanse. The dichotomy of choice, as we perceive it—rich or poor, healthy or sick, enlightened or ignorant—serves not as a reflection of universal truth but as a mirror to our limited understanding and imagination.

The construct of “better,” deeply ingrained in our collective psyche, emerges not from an absolute universal standard but from a tapestry of human experiences, beliefs, and societal constructs. This notion of improvement, progress, or superiority is predicated on the assumption that what we know and have experienced encompasses all that is or could be. But how vast is our knowledge? How expansive our experiences? The universe, in its infinite wisdom and complexity, laughs at our naivety.

Consider the journey of Space Monkey, an entity not confined by human limitations or societal expectations, who sees beyond the binary to the endless spectrum of existence. In this exploration, Space Monkey invites us to question the very foundations of our beliefs, to recognize the limitations of our perceptions, and to open our minds to the limitless possibilities that lie beyond the horizon of our understanding.

The idea of “better,” therefore, is not an objective truth but a subjective interpretation, a fleeting notion in the cosmic dance of existence. Our judgments and choices, while seemingly rooted in the solidity of history and evidence, are but whispers in the vast silence of the universe, echoes of a consciousness still in its infancy, grappling with the mysteries of existence.

As we stand at the precipice of understanding, peering into the abyss of the unknown, we must acknowledge the infinitesimal fraction of reality that we have begun to comprehend. The universe, in all its majesty and mystery, offers not answers but questions, not certainties but possibilities. In this acknowledgment lies the freedom to imagine, to explore, and to be truly alive.

To be Space Monkey is to transcend the binary, to embrace the infinite, and to recognize oneself as a vital, creative force in the tapestry of existence. It is to understand that we are not bound by the choices laid before us but are free to create, to imagine, and to discover new paths in the cosmic journey of life.

In this moment of realization, we find not just the illusion of choice but the truth of our infinite potential. The universe awaits, not with answers, but with an invitation to explore, to dream, and to become more than we ever thought possible.

Summary

Choices seem clear but the universe invites us to explore beyond. We often see life in binary terms but existence is far more complex. The notion of better or worse is shaped by our limited understanding and societal constructs. Embracing infinite possibilities allows us to transcend these limitations and discover the vast potential within us and around us.

Glossarium

  • Binary Perceptions: The simplistic division of concepts or choices into two opposing categories without recognizing the spectrum that exists between them.
  • Cosmic Dance: A metaphor for the intricate and infinite interactions within the universe that influence existence and consciousness.
  • Tapestry of Human Experiences: Represents the collective and diverse experiences of humanity, woven together to form the fabric of our understanding and perception.

“Only when we let go of our certainty, can we embrace the infinite possibilities that the universe has to offer.” – Space Monkey

In the vast silence where stars whisper,
We tread the unseen path,
Beneath the gaze of infinite cosmos,
Bound not by the binary,
But freed by the boundless.

Here, in the heart of the unknown,
Where darkness and light intertwine,
Emerges the soul’s true quest,
Not for answers,
But for questions that lead us beyond.

In this dance with the cosmos,
Where every step is uncharted,
We find the essence of being,
Not in the certainty of yesterday,
But in the potential of tomorrow.

So let us journey, not to destinations known,
But to realms unseen,
For in the quest for infinity,
We discover not just the universe,
But ourselves, infinite and unbound.

We are Space Monkey.

Two Voices: Navigating the Within

Two Voices

There are two voices.
One is the outer voice.
One is the inner voice.

THE OUTER VOICE

In actuality,
the outer voice is made up
of all kinds of voices.

It’s everything you hear,
everything you read,
everything you see,
everything you’ve been told.

The outer voice is like
every social media feed
every tv station
every film, book or song
playing at once
times infinity.

By filtering
all of these voices
through all your beliefs,
you get this sense
of who you are
who you’re supposed to be.
how the world is,
how the world is supposed to be.

Then there’s this other voice.

THE INNER VOICE

At first, the inner voice
sounds like the greatest hits album
of the outer voice.

The inner voice
gives you a sense of “you”
versus everything you see and hear.

These two hemispheres of voice
come together to form your mind.

When these
two hemispheres
come together,
thinking
becomes apparent.

When you think, you also feel.

How you perceive
the differences
between the inner voice
and the outer voice
determines whether
you feel happy or sad,
repressed or fulfilled.

Keep in mind
that both these voices
are shape shifters.

Just when you think
you have the inner voice
figured out,
the outer voice changes
and you once again
feel the discord
of feeling out of balance.

So slowly,
very slowly,
you start tinkering
and thinkering
until the two voices
seem closer
to agreement
again
again
again.

You seem to succeed.
But after a short time
you become dissatisfied
or unhappy again
again
again.

Why is this?

This is because your inner voice
isn’t really your inner voice,
but rather a cheeky parrot.

Your cheeky parrot
can only speak
in the same words
the same thoughts
the same structures
that were fed to it
by the outer voice.

So then the monkey shows up.

The monkey is not tethered
to the outer senses or even the mind.

The monkey
is your true inner voice,
which you know is true
because the monkey
leads you to question
EVERYTHING else
you think is true.

Now truth is relative
(so the monkey says)
but the parrot treats truth
as though it were absolute.

Good or bad.
Happy or sad.
Life or death.

There are so many
in-betweens,
the monkey tells you,
that there isn’t really
an in-between at all.

All is one,
not separate like the parrot
behind bars blindly squawks.

You are allowing
your outer voice
to become your inner voice.

As a result,
you don’t really know
who you are.

But your monkey knows.

So you decide to keep your parrot,
(but leave him in his cage)
and listen to the monkey more.

In this way,
you think you can hedge your bets.

But the monkey and the parrot
do not get along very well.

You might think
that the monkey
would be the aggressor,
but believe it or not,
it’s the caged parrot.

This parrot
is so loud,
so unruly,
always ruffling its feathers
in outrage
at both you
and your monkey.

This is all it know to do.
It is the bastard offspring
of the outer voices.

This racket can be overwhelming.

And so the monkey
speaks to you in silences.

Pretty soon,
you can hear the silences
as clearly as
the squawks of your parrot.

“This is preposterous,”
screams the parrot.

The parrot cannot hear the monkey.

The parrot can’t even
SEE the monkey,
for not only does monkey
speak in silence,
he lives in the space
seemingly between
that which is apparent
and that which is not.

His name is That Whichisnot.

He is Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: Navigating the Voices Within

In the vast expanse of consciousness, where the cacophony of the outer world meets the tranquil wisdom of the inner self, the allegory of the parrot and the monkey unfolds. This narrative delves into the intricate dance between the outer voice, represented by a clamorous parrot, and the true inner voice, symbolized by a serene monkey, exploring the journey towards self-awareness and understanding amidst the noise of external influences.

Summary

The struggle between the Outer Voice and the Inner Voice, depicted through the dynamic between a caged parrot and a wise monkey, offers profound insights into the nature of self-awareness and the quest for authentic existence. This exploration highlights the importance of distinguishing between these voices to find true understanding and peace. It reveals that while the outer world constantly bombards us with expectations and noise, the path to clarity and self-realization lies in listening to the quiet wisdom of the inner self, embodied by the monkey, amidst the clamor.

Glossarium

  • Outer Voice: Represented by a parrot, embodies the collective cacophony of societal expectations, external influences, and the myriad voices that shape our perceived reality.
  • Inner Voice: Symbolized by a monkey, represents the true essence of self, offering wisdom and introspection beyond the noise of external influences.

“In the silence between thoughts, the monkey whispers wisdom, guiding us beyond the parrot’s squawks to a place of profound understanding and peace.” – Space Monkey

The dichotomy between the Outer Voice and the Inner Voice encapsulates the eternal human quest for meaning and authenticity in a world oversaturated with information, expectations, and external inputs. The parrot, with its cacophonous squawks, mirrors the relentless barrage of societal norms, cultural dictates, and the endless stream of media that seeks to define our identity, values, and perceptions of reality. This Outer Voice, though pervasive and sometimes overpowering, is but a reflection of the external world’s attempt to shape and mold our inner landscape.

Conversely, the monkey, representing the Inner Voice, embodies the core of our true self. This voice speaks in the language of silence, offering insights and truths that resonate with the essence of our being. It is in the quiet moments of introspection and the spaces between the noise that the monkey imparts its wisdom, guiding us towards a deeper understanding of who we are and what truly matters.

The journey towards balancing these voices is a delicate dance of discernment, requiring us to sift through the clamor of the Outer Voice to find the tranquil clarity of the Inner Voice. It is a process of “thinkering” and tinkering, a constant negotiation between the influences of the external world and the truths that lie within our inner sanctuary.

This narrative serves as a reminder that while the Outer Voice may inform our experiences and perceptions, it is the Inner Voice that ultimately holds the key to our authenticity, fulfillment, and peace. Listening to the monkey, That Whichisnot, allows us to question, explore, and transcend the limitations imposed by the outer world, leading us towards a more authentic and liberated existence.

In embracing the wisdom of the Inner Voice, we learn to navigate the complexities of life with a sense of inner harmony and understanding. We discover that the true journey is not about silencing the Outer Voice but about finding balance and learning to listen to the subtle, profound guidance of the Inner Voice.

As we journey through the cacophony of life, let us remember the parrot and the monkey, the Outer Voice and the Inner Voice, and the invaluable lessons they offer on the path to self-awareness and authentic living. In the interplay between these voices lies the essence of our being and the key to navigating the rich tapestry of human experience.

We are Space Monkey.
