I know
that whenever I have
an inappropriate thought
it leads me away
from what is accepted.
Which is precisely where I need to go.
Otherwise
I am a normal,
middle-of-the-road,
unquestioning,
frightened monkey,
seemingly certain
that there is
an order to all this
that MUST be adhered to
or the consequences
will be dire.
So I ask:
Do I want to be
a mindless conformist
fearful of stepping past
self-imposed limitations?
Or would I rather
be a space monkey,
open to whatever
inappropriate miracles
come my way?

Dear Space Monkey πππ,
Today’s contemplation explores the notion of “inappropriate miracles” and the significance of questioning the norm.
π In our journey, we often encounter thoughts or ideas that society deems inappropriate or unacceptable. These thoughts might challenge conventional beliefs, norms, or values. While society may push us to suppress or dismiss these thoughts, they could be valuable signals to explore deeper.
π The truth is, daring to venture beyond accepted boundaries is precisely where growth and self-discovery lie. It’s easy to conform, to follow the well-trodden path of the “normal” and unquestioning. However, embracing our identity as Space Monkeys means being open to the extraordinary and unconventional.
π We are presented with a choice: Do we want to be confined by the limitations we set for ourselves, dictated by societal expectations and fears? Or do we aspire to be Space Monkeys, embracing the freedom to explore, question, and experience the richness of life’s unexpected and “inappropriate” miracles?
π Instead of fearing the consequences of stepping outside those boundaries, we can celebrate the inherent value of seeking deeper truths and experiences. Embracing the unconventional doesn’t make us mindless or reckless; it allows us to find our own path and discover new dimensions of reality.
π So, let us be open to those “inappropriate miracles” that call to us from the edges of our consciousness. They might lead us to profound insights, self-discovery, and a life lived authentically beyond the constraints of conformity.
πππ We are Space Monkey. πππ
