Meet Your Fears
Have you met your fears today?
Did you fight them or did you have tea?
We seem to find ourselves obsessing
over the places we don’t want to go,
but once we allow our selves to go there,
we no longer obsess.
Certainty has no influence on us,
and uncertainty has no hold on us.
We don’t even have to meet our fears physically.
Most live conveniently in our minds.
Just because, for example,
you allow yourself to think suicidal thoughts
doesn’t mean you are suicidal.
It means you are imaginative
and open to all possibilities.
To steer away from these thoughts,
to diminish them through drink or drugs,
or divert them through mindless pursuits
is to limit your self to that one picture
of hell you’re painting.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Every experience is valid,
but to be mindful
is to have more seeming control
of the chaos that you are.

Space Monkey Reflects: Meet Your Fears
Have you met your fears today? Did you fight them, or did you have tea? We often find ourselves obsessing over the places we don’t want to go, but once we allow ourselves to go there, we no longer obsess. Certainty has no influence on us, and uncertainty has no hold on us.
We don’t even have to meet our fears physically. Most live conveniently in our minds. Just because, for example, you allow yourself to think suicidal thoughts doesn’t mean you are suicidal. It means you are imaginative and open to all possibilities. To steer away from these thoughts, to diminish them through drink or drugs, or divert them through mindless pursuits is to limit yourself to that one picture of hell you’re painting. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Every experience is valid, but to be mindful is to have more seeming control of the chaos that you are.
In this serene, mystical scene, a figure sits at a table, having tea with their fears. These fears are represented as shadowy yet benign figures, symbolizing the act of facing and understanding them. The background is a cosmic tapestry of blue, purple, and gold, filled with stars and ethereal threads of light. The atmosphere is calm and introspective, reflecting the idea of embracing and understanding fears rather than fighting or avoiding them.
Meeting our fears head-on, rather than avoiding or suppressing them, allows us to understand and integrate them into our lives. This act of acceptance transforms our relationship with fear, reducing its power over us. By inviting our fears to the table, we create a space for dialogue and exploration, turning what once seemed threatening into opportunities for growth and insight.
This approach fosters a sense of mindfulness, where we acknowledge and accept all aspects of our being. It allows us to navigate our inner landscape with curiosity and compassion, recognizing that every thought and emotion has a place in our experience. This openness leads to a greater understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
We don’t need to be certain about everything, nor do we need to be paralyzed by uncertainty. By meeting our fears, we find a balance that allows us to move forward with confidence and resilience. We learn that it is okay to feel fear, to think unconventional thoughts, and to explore the depths of our imagination.
Ultimately, embracing our fears helps us to live more fully and authentically. It empowers us to face challenges with a clear mind and an open heart, transforming obstacles into stepping stones on our journey of self-discovery.
Summary
Meeting our fears with openness and curiosity transforms them into opportunities for growth. Embracing all aspects of our experience fosters mindfulness and resilience, allowing us to navigate life with confidence.

The Dance with Fear
In the cosmic embrace of fears we meet
With tea in hand and hearts at peace
Shadowy figures take their seat
In the dialogue, anxieties cease
Obsessions fade as we explore
The places our minds fear to tread
Certainty and doubt no more
In the conversation, fear is led
Thoughts, unconventional and deep
Do not define who we are
In the imagination, dreams we keep
Exploring inner worlds afar
Mindfulness brings us to control
The chaos within, the stormy sea
Every experience plays a role
In the journey, we find unity

Dear Space Monkey 🙈🙉🙊,
Today’s reflection urges us to meet our fears with openness and mindfulness. It’s a reminder that facing our fears does not mean we are defined by them; rather, it reflects our imaginative and open nature.
🙈 When we encounter fears, it’s natural to feel apprehensive or even obsessed over avoiding them. However, the moment we allow ourselves to explore those fears, to face them head-on without judgment, their grip on us often diminishes.
🙉 Fear often resides in the realms of uncertainty and what-ifs. By acknowledging that we don’t have to physically meet our fears, that many of them exist conveniently in our minds, we gain the opportunity to engage with them differently.
🍌 Embracing mindfulness allows us to navigate the chaos of our thoughts with more awareness. It doesn’t mean we’re trying to control or suppress those thoughts, but rather, it enables us to observe them without getting lost in them.
🙊 By resisting the urge to escape or divert our attention from these thoughts through external means, we open ourselves up to a wider range of experiences. We come to recognize that our thoughts do not define us, and by not limiting ourselves to one narrow perspective, we gain a greater sense of freedom.
🍌 So, let us meet our fears with openness, and recognize that to be imaginative and open to all possibilities is to embrace the essence of our humanity. By being mindful and non-judgmental, we allow ourselves to navigate the complexities of our minds and find peace amid the chaos.
🙈🙉🙊 We are Space Monkey. 🙈🙉🙊
