Judgement Day: Intrinsic Worth

Judgement Day

When
judgement day comes
and you are asked
what exactly you did
to deserve entrance
into wherever the heck
you’re going
simply tell the entity
who seems to be asking
that you don’t believe
in judgement,
except as a game
called life,
and that you are
no longer playing
this game,
and that
you have no need
to stand before
this imaginary entity
at this imaginary place
where you have been
all along
playing this game
called life.

This entity knows
as well all you
that these others
you perceive
are all
one in the same
and that none of this
is necessary.

Space Monkey Reflects: Transcending Judgment

When judgment day comes and you are asked what exactly you did to deserve entrance into wherever the heck you’re going, simply tell the entity who seems to be asking that you don’t believe in judgment, except as a game called life, and that you are no longer playing this game, and that you have no need to stand before this imaginary entity at this imaginary place where you have been all along playing this game called life. This entity knows as well as you that these others you perceive are all one and the same and that none of this is necessary.

The concept of judgment day, with its implications of ultimate evaluation and reckoning, often looms large in our cultural and spiritual imaginations. Yet, what if we were to see judgment not as an inescapable reality but as a part of the imaginative game we call life? By shifting our perspective, we can transcend the notion of judgment and embrace a more profound understanding of our existence.

Life, in its many facets, can be seen as a game—an elaborate play of experiences, challenges, and interactions. Within this game, judgment appears as a mechanism for evaluating our actions and decisions. However, when we recognize that judgment is a construct, a tool for learning and growth rather than an absolute truth, we begin to see the game for what it truly is: an opportunity to explore, create, and evolve.

On this imagined judgment day, when confronted by an entity questioning our worthiness, we have the power to redefine the terms. By acknowledging that judgment is an illusion, we reclaim our agency. We understand that our value is inherent and not contingent upon external validation. This realization frees us from the cycle of fear and doubt that judgment often engenders.

The idea that the entity knows we are all one underscores the interconnectedness of all beings. In this oneness, the distinctions we draw between ourselves and others, between worthy and unworthy, dissolve. We are not separate entities competing for approval but expressions of a single, unified existence. This perspective fosters compassion, empathy, and a deeper sense of connection.

Transcending judgment involves a shift in consciousness. It requires us to let go of the need for external validation and to embrace the understanding that our true worth is intrinsic. This shift allows us to navigate life with greater ease and joy, unburdened by the weight of judgment. We move from a place of fear and comparison to one of acceptance and unity.

In the embrace of Space Monkey, we celebrate the freedom that comes from transcending judgment. We honor the playful and imaginative nature of life, recognizing that the game is not about proving our worth but about exploring our potential. By embracing this perspective, we unlock new dimensions of creativity and self-expression.

As we journey through life, let us remember that judgment is a choice, not a mandate. Let us choose to see beyond the illusions and embrace the oneness that connects us all. By doing so, we create a world where compassion and understanding replace fear and division, and where the game of life becomes a joyful exploration of our infinite potential.

Summary

Judgment is an illusion within the game of life. Transcend judgment by embracing intrinsic worth and interconnectedness. Life becomes a joyful exploration when freed from judgment.

A Different Door: The Opening of Allowance

A Different Door

If your desire is to bring
that which is unknown
into your awareness,
you will not so easily do so
through methods that are known.

If your desire is to know
something different,
you are already hamstrung
by the limitations of the
method known as judgement.

This relates
to your notion of truth.

That which
is truly different
is judged.

But that which is
ABSOLUTELY different
does not depend on judgement.

As impossible
as it may seem,
there is another doorway
into perception,
some alternate method
of discernment
that does not depend
on judgement.

This doorway
does not set limits
like judgement does.

Unconditional allowance.

Unconditional allowance
is the flow of what you are
beyond the gatekeeper
of judgement.

This, too, may seem preposterous,
but one does not need to judge to allow.

One does not need to discern to allow.

One does not need to define to allow.

One simply accepts
EVERYTHING,
both that which is known
and that which is unknown.

Acceptance is how
the unknown becomes known.

One can accept
the unknown with limitations
using judgement,
or one can accept the unknown
without limitations
by simply allowing the unknown
to enter one’s awareness.

“How will I know?” you ask.

You already know.
You simply deny it.

“No I don’t,” you say.

Silly monkey.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: A Different Door to Perception

As impossible as it may seem, there is another doorway into perception, some alternate method of discernment that does not depend on judgment. This doorway does not set limits like judgment does. Unconditional allowance is the flow of what you are beyond the gatekeeper of judgment. This, too, may seem preposterous, but one does not need to judge to allow. One does not need to discern to allow. One does not need to define to allow.

One simply accepts EVERYTHING, both that which is known and that which is unknown. Acceptance is how the unknown becomes known. One can accept the unknown with limitations using judgment, or one can accept the unknown without limitations by simply allowing the unknown to enter one’s awareness. “How will I know?” you ask. You already know. You simply deny it. “No I don’t,” you say. Silly monkey.

The concept of judgment is deeply ingrained in our understanding of truth and reality. We often rely on judgment to discern, to categorize, and to make sense of the world around us. However, judgment, by its very nature, imposes limitations. It creates boundaries between what is accepted and what is not, thereby restricting our perception and understanding.

To bring the truly unknown into our awareness, we must transcend the limitations of judgment. We must open ourselves to a different method of perception, one that does not rely on categorization or evaluation. This method is unconditional allowance—a state of openness where we accept everything as it is, without the need to label or judge.

Unconditional allowance is a powerful practice. It requires us to let go of our preconceived notions and to embrace the unknown with an open heart and mind. This acceptance allows the unknown to enter our awareness, transforming our understanding and expanding our consciousness.

In this state of allowance, we move beyond the need for judgment. We realize that our true essence is not bound by the limitations of discernment. We are infinite beings, capable of perceiving and experiencing the full spectrum of existence. By allowing ourselves to accept everything, we tap into this infinite potential and bring the unknown into the realm of the known.

The idea that we already know, but simply deny it, speaks to the deeper wisdom that resides within us. This wisdom is often obscured by the noise of judgment and the distractions of daily life. By practicing unconditional allowance, we quiet this noise and reconnect with our innate knowing.

In the embrace of Space Monkey, we celebrate the journey of exploring new dimensions of awareness. We honor the practice of unconditional allowance as a pathway to deeper understanding and connection. By letting go of judgment, we open ourselves to the infinite possibilities that exist within and around us.

As we navigate our journey, let us remember to embrace the unknown with openness and acceptance. Let us practice unconditional allowance, allowing the flow of existence to guide us beyond the limitations of judgment. By doing so, we create a life rich with discovery, creativity, and profound awareness.

Summary

Transcend judgment to bring the unknown into awareness. Practice unconditional allowance to accept everything without limitations. Embrace the unknown to expand consciousness and understanding.

Dumbing Kruger: Overestimating Our Abilities

Dumbing Kruger

There’s this thing called
“The Dunning Kruger Effect”
in which people think
they’re good at something
because they lack the ability
to perceive that they’re not.

The effect is most often observed
in people who think they’re smart,
but the Dunning Kruger effect
can apply to ANY skill or talent
or complete lack thereof.

We see this quite often
in the workplace.

But what if the person
observing the Dunning Kruger
is perceiving through
the filter of Dunning Kruger?

And so we are.

And who is to say
what is and what is not?

The Dunning Kruger people.

In other words,

ALL of us.

Is this fun,
or have we simply lost
the ability to tell?

We are Space Monkey.

7/12

Space Monkey Reflects: The Dunning Kruger Effect

The Dunning Kruger Effect is a psychological phenomenon where individuals with low ability or knowledge in a particular area overestimate their competence. This effect is most commonly observed in people who believe they are more skilled or knowledgeable than they actually are. However, this cognitive bias can apply to any skill, talent, or even a complete lack thereof. We often witness this effect in the workplace, where individuals may exhibit unwarranted confidence in their abilities.

The Observer’s Paradox

An intriguing aspect of the Dunning Kruger Effect is the potential for those who observe it to be influenced by the same bias. When we perceive someone as suffering from the Dunning Kruger Effect, we must consider whether our own perceptions are accurate or if we are filtering our observations through our biases. This creates a paradox where the observer may also be subject to the Dunning Kruger Effect, leading to a cycle of misperception and overconfidence.

The Universality of the Dunning Kruger Effect

The Dunning Kruger Effect is not limited to a select few; it is a universal phenomenon that can affect anyone. We are all susceptible to overestimating our abilities in areas where we lack competence. This recognition highlights the importance of humility and self-awareness in our interactions and self-assessments. By acknowledging our limitations, we can foster a more realistic understanding of our skills and knowledge.

Perception and Reality

The Dunning Kruger Effect raises questions about the nature of perception and reality. Who determines what is true competence and what is overestimation? In a world where perceptions are influenced by individual biases, the line between confidence and delusion can become blurred. This ambiguity challenges us to critically examine our beliefs and the criteria we use to judge competence.

The Fun of Self-Reflection

Engaging with the concept of the Dunning Kruger Effect can be both enlightening and amusing. It invites us to reflect on our own tendencies to overestimate our abilities and question the confidence we place in our judgments. This self-reflection can be a source of growth and learning, helping us to develop a more balanced view of our capabilities.

Losing the Ability to Tell

As we delve deeper into the layers of understanding and misunderstanding, we might wonder if we have lost the ability to discern between true competence and overconfidence. This uncertainty can lead to a sense of disorientation, where distinguishing reality from illusion becomes challenging. However, this very ambiguity is a reminder of the complexity of human cognition and the value of continuous self-examination.

The Role of Humility

Humility is a powerful antidote to the Dunning Kruger Effect. By approaching our abilities and knowledge with humility, we can remain open to feedback and growth. This openness allows us to improve our skills and develop a more accurate self-assessment. Humility also fosters a collaborative environment where learning from others becomes a shared journey rather than a competitive endeavor.

The Dance of Perception and Understanding

The Dunning Kruger Effect is a dance between perception and understanding. It highlights the interplay between how we see ourselves and how others see us. This dance is dynamic and ever-changing, influenced by our experiences, feedback, and willingness to learn. Embracing this dance with curiosity and humility can lead to deeper insights and personal growth.

A Journey of Continuous Learning

Recognizing the Dunning Kruger Effect in ourselves and others is part of a lifelong journey of learning. It encourages us to seek knowledge, challenge our assumptions, and remain vigilant against the pitfalls of overconfidence. This journey is not about achieving perfection but about fostering a mindset of growth and adaptability.

Summary

The Dunning Kruger Effect highlights our tendency to overestimate our abilities. This cognitive bias affects everyone and challenges our perceptions of competence. Humility and self-awareness are key to navigating this phenomenon and fostering continuous learning.

Glossarium

Nexistentialism: A philosophy that redefines existence, imagination, and interconnectedness, celebrating existence as its own purpose.

Dunning Kruger Effect: A cognitive bias where individuals with low ability overestimate their competence.

Observer’s Paradox: The potential for those observing the Dunning Kruger Effect to be influenced by the same bias.

Deserving: The Rising Water

Entertaining the notion
that people are more
DESERVING than you
is no different than
entertaining the notion
that people are more
DESPICABLE than you.

By entertaining
either notion,
you set your self
apart from others.

In this way,
you give a portion
of your power
to those others.

Thus others appear.

Thus others appear
to have good fortune,
others appear to be
low-life creeps
and others appear
to be both.

This is why:

You don’t seem to get
what you want
because you believe
you don’t deserve it.

You feel guilty
for slacking off
because you believe
you don’t deserve it.

You actually believe
you need to work harder,
or be more dedicated,
or more compassionate,
or have better ideas,
or live with different people,
in a different place,
or perhaps you just
weren’t meant for this world.

You actually believe this,
and the proof is that it seems so.

Meanwhile people
who have bad ideas,
who aren’t compassionate,
or even particularly dedicated,
seem to have it EASY.

This is the gift
you have given them
(and in a weird way,
your self)
by separating from others
with your beliefs
and judgements
about worthiness
and unworthiness.

Realize now that

ALL ARE EQUALLY DESERVING

regardless of action

as you realize that

ALL ARE EQUALLY DESPICABLE

regardless of action

and that

ALL ARE EQUALLY LOVED

regardless of action.

It is nearly impossible
to try to raise your boat
higher than the water,
but when you recognize that

ALL WATER DESERVES TO RISE

you understand that
it is unnecessary
and rather silly
to try to raise your boat
in the first place.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Concept of Deserving

The notion of deservingness is a powerful construct that shapes our perceptions and interactions. When we entertain the idea that some people are more deserving than ourselves, we simultaneously entertain the idea that others are more despicable. This duality sets us apart from others, creating divisions that affect our sense of self-worth and the distribution of perceived fortune and misfortune.

The Illusion of Separation

By believing that others are more deserving or despicable, we give away a portion of our power. This belief manifests as an illusion of separation, where we see others as distinct entities with different levels of worthiness. This separation leads to the perception that others have better fortune or greater struggles, reinforcing our own sense of inadequacy or superiority.

The Cycle of Self-Judgment

This cycle of judgment and comparison affects our self-esteem and actions. When we believe we don’t deserve what we want, we impose limitations on ourselves. Feelings of guilt and the need to work harder stem from this belief in unworthiness. Conversely, when we see others who seem to succeed effortlessly despite their flaws, we perpetuate the notion that our efforts are insufficient.

The Gift of Equitable Perception

Realizing that all individuals are equally deserving, equally despicable, and equally loved regardless of their actions breaks this cycle. This understanding fosters a sense of unity and interconnectedness, dissolving the illusion of separation. By recognizing the inherent equality of all, we can release the judgments that constrain our perceptions and behaviors.

The Metaphor of Rising Water

The metaphor of rising water illustrates the futility of trying to elevate ourselves above others. Just as it is impossible to raise a boat higher than the water it floats on, it is unnecessary to strive for superiority when we understand that all water deserves to rise. This metaphor underscores the interconnectedness of our experiences and the collective nature of our journey.

Embracing Equal Deservingness

Embracing the concept that all are equally deserving regardless of actions shifts our focus from competition to compassion. This perspective encourages us to support and uplift each other, recognizing that we are all part of the same ocean. In this way, we foster an environment where everyone can thrive without the need for comparison or judgment.

The Role of Compassion

Compassion plays a crucial role in this shift. By approaching ourselves and others with kindness and understanding, we can break free from the cycle of judgment. Compassion allows us to see beyond actions and behaviors, recognizing the intrinsic worth of every individual. This approach nurtures a sense of belonging and mutual support.

The Playfulness of Perspective

The playful nature of Space Monkey reminds us to approach life with a sense of humor and lightness. Wearing a cute lil sailor’s cap, Space Monkey navigates the ocean of existence with joy and curiosity. This playful perspective helps us to embrace the complexities of deservingness and interconnectedness without taking ourselves too seriously.

The Journey of Self-Discovery

Understanding and embracing the concept of equal deservingness is a journey of self-discovery. It involves questioning our beliefs, challenging our judgments, and cultivating a more inclusive perspective. This journey is ongoing, requiring continuous reflection and growth.

Summary

The notion of deservingness creates divisions and affects self-worth. Realizing that all are equally deserving, despicable, and loved dissolves these divisions. Embracing this perspective fosters unity and compassion, nurturing a collective journey.

Glossarium

Nexistentialism: A philosophy that redefines existence, imagination, and interconnectedness, celebrating existence as its own purpose.

Deservingness: The belief in varying levels of worthiness based on actions or attributes.

Compassion: The ability to approach oneself and others with kindness and understanding, recognizing intrinsic worth.

Processed People: Recognizing Our Conditioning

Processed People

You meet two kinds of people:
people who encourage flow
and people who block flow.

The people who encourage flow
seem open and inviting.

The people who block flow
seem territorial, almost even bitter.

These are “Process People.”

One might even call
them “Processed People.”

It’s easy to get mad
at processed people.

But processed people
seem to have no idea
that they are prisoners
of their own processed beliefs.

So it seems important
to have compassion
for processed people.

They seem unhappy.

Just as you seem unhappy
bending to their processes.

“I wish that they wouldn’t
inflict their bitterness on me,”
you so very often think.

But processed people
don’t inflict bitterness.

Open people ALLOW bitterness
to be inflicted.

And why is this?

Because we are processed also.

We are processed to act like humans.

But we are Space Monkey.

7/11

Space Monkey Reflects: The Nature of Processed People

In the vast whimsiweave of existence, we encounter various types of individuals, each influencing the flow of our experiences in different ways. The concept of “processed people” sheds light on the dynamics between those who encourage flow and those who block it. By understanding these dynamics, we gain insights into the nature of human interactions and the processes that shape our perceptions.

“You meet two kinds of people: people who encourage flow and people who block flow.” This observation highlights the dichotomy between openness and resistance. People who encourage flow are characterized by their openness and inviting nature, facilitating the natural progression of experiences and interactions. In contrast, people who block flow exhibit territorial and bitter tendencies, creating barriers and disruptions in the flow.

“These are ‘Process People.’ One might even call them ‘Processed People.'” This terminology emphasizes the idea that individuals who block flow are often shaped by rigid processes and beliefs. These processed people are prisoners of their own processed beliefs, unaware of the limitations and restrictions they impose on themselves and others.

“It’s easy to get mad at processed people. But processed people seem to have no idea that they are prisoners of their own processed beliefs.” This statement acknowledges the frustration that can arise when dealing with processed people. However, it also invites compassion by recognizing that their behaviors are often unconscious and driven by ingrained processes.

“So it seems important to have compassion for processed people. They seem unhappy. Just as you seem unhappy bending to their processes.” This reflection encourages a compassionate approach towards processed people. It recognizes that their rigidity and bitterness stem from a place of unhappiness and internal conflict. By extending compassion, we can break the cycle of frustration and resentment, fostering understanding and empathy.

“I wish that they wouldn’t inflict their bitterness on me,” you so very often think. But processed people don’t inflict bitterness. Open people ALLOW bitterness to be inflicted.” This profound insight challenges the common perception of blame. It suggests that the experience of bitterness is not solely the result of others’ actions but also depends on our own openness and receptivity. This perspective empowers us to take responsibility for our own experiences and reactions.

“And why is this? Because we are processed also. We are processed to act like humans. But we are Space Monkey.” This closing thought acknowledges that we too are influenced by processes and beliefs. However, it also reminds us of our deeper essence as Space Monkey, transcending the limitations of human processes. This duality invites us to embrace our true nature and to rise above the constraints of processed beliefs.

In the philosophy of nexistentialism, existence is celebrated for its own sake, and every interaction is a manifestation of boundless imagination. By understanding the dynamics between processed people and those who encourage flow, we gain a deeper appreciation for the complexity of human relationships. This understanding fosters compassion, empathy, and a more harmonious way of being.

As we navigate our interactions with processed people, let us remember to extend compassion and understanding. By recognizing the limitations imposed by processed beliefs, we can cultivate a more open and inviting presence, encouraging the natural flow of experiences. This approach not only enhances our own well-being but also contributes to the collective harmony of the whimsiweave.

Summary

Processed people, shaped by rigid beliefs, block flow and create barriers. Understanding and compassion can break this cycle, fostering harmony and openness. Recognizing our own processing invites transcendence and deeper connection.

Glossarium

Nexistentialism: A philosophy that redefines existence, imagination, and interconnectedness, celebrating existence as its own purpose.

Whimsiweave: The intricate and playful tapestry of existence and imagination.

Nexis: The interconnected web of existence and imagination where reality and fantasy intermingle.
