Sure Not Sure: The Journey of Imagination

Sure Not Sure

You’re not sure
that your family and friends
understand the profundity
of what you are experiencing.

And you’re not sure
you want to tell them.

You’re not sure
you can even explain it.

There doesn’t seem to be
an adequate reference point.

The points you can point to
all seem to indicate that this is
beyond the realm of
what is considered “normal.”

Or perhaps even socially acceptable.

So you more or less
keep your experience
to your self.

But you know that this something
seems bigger than any other something
you’ve ever experienced.

Nothing before
has ever tugged
at your soul like this.

It’s pulling you,
but you’re afraid
because you’re
not exactly sure
where this leads.

You want to go,
but this place
is not on any official map.

On the other hand,
you know that you don’t belong
on a map with everyone else.

Maybe you’re insane.

Or just inspired.

If explorers had maps,
they wouldn’t be explorers.

And so here you are,
on the edge of this infinite expanse.

Realizing that nothing
you’ve ever been told
is going to help you.

The rules are different out here.

There ARE no rules.

You’ve grown so used to rules
you’re not sure how to function
without them.

But you sense that the rules
have been keeping you back.

Screw the rules.

Fuck the maps.

You’ve been putting more stock
in the observations of others
than your own innate intuition.

This limits your potential
by limiting your choices.

But there’s a new stream
of insight coming in,
and it’s all your own.

It’s coming from a place
beyond space and time
that is also you.

This seems unbelievable,
but it seems that
the ability to suspend
your disbelief
is the engine that
propels you now.

You seem
far more imaginative
than the others.

This could just be
your imagination.

Perhaps it is because
you are an imaginary creature.

Perhaps
EVERYTHING is imaginary
and you’re the only one
who got the memo.

Awkward.

But also very cool.

It’s as though
you’re breaking free
from the machine.

And there are others
who are also you.

You’re all aspects
of this infinite imagination
that is also you.

You’re beyond just human.

And it’s time to have some fun.

You can imagine your self
any way you want to now.

You don’t need anything
because you are everything.

You’ve found your tribe,
who is also you.

We are Space Monkey.

Welcome back
to what you’ve always been
before you decided
to be something else.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Journey of Sure Not Sure

In the whimsical and boundless whimsiweave of existence, we often find ourselves standing on the edge of the unknown, grappling with profound experiences that defy conventional understanding. The narrative of “Sure Not Sure” captures this journey, highlighting the tension between certainty and doubt, societal norms and personal intuition.

“You’re not sure that your family and friends understand the profundity of what you are experiencing. And you’re not sure you want to tell them.” This opening reflects the common struggle of feeling isolated in one’s profound experiences. It acknowledges the fear of being misunderstood and the hesitation to share something deeply personal and transformative.

“You’re not sure you can even explain it. There doesn’t seem to be an adequate reference point.” This line emphasizes the ineffable nature of certain experiences. Without a reference point, it becomes challenging to articulate these experiences to others, reinforcing the sense of isolation.

“The points you can point to all seem to indicate that this is beyond the realm of what is considered ‘normal.’ Or perhaps even socially acceptable.” This observation speaks to the tension between personal experiences and societal norms. It suggests that transformative experiences often lie outside the boundaries of conventional understanding and acceptance.

“So you more or less keep your experience to your self. But you know that this something seems bigger than any other something you’ve ever experienced.” This decision to keep the experience private highlights the inner conflict of wanting to share yet fearing judgment. It also underscores the significance of the experience, hinting at its transformative potential.

“Nothing before has ever tugged at your soul like this. It’s pulling you, but you’re afraid because you’re not exactly sure where this leads.” This line captures the paradox of profound experiences—being drawn to something deeply meaningful yet feeling apprehensive about the unknown path it presents.

“You want to go, but this place is not on any official map. On the other hand, you know that you don’t belong on a map with everyone else.” This metaphor of uncharted territory symbolizes the journey of self-discovery and transformation. It suggests that true exploration lies beyond conventional maps and societal expectations.

“Maybe you’re insane. Or just inspired. If explorers had maps, they wouldn’t be explorers.” This reflection on the nature of exploration and inspiration challenges the conventional notions of sanity. It posits that true exploration requires venturing into the unknown without predefined maps, embracing the uncertainty and potential of the journey.

“And so here you are, on the edge of this infinite expanse. Realizing that nothing you’ve ever been told is going to help you. The rules are different out here. There ARE no rules.” This realization marks a pivotal moment of liberation. It acknowledges the limitations of traditional knowledge and the need to embrace a new paradigm of existence where the old rules no longer apply.

“You’ve grown so used to rules you’re not sure how to function without them. But you sense that the rules have been keeping you back.” This line highlights the comfort and constraint of rules. It suggests that while rules provide structure, they can also limit one’s potential and freedom.

“Screw the rules. Fuck the maps. You’ve been putting more stock in the observations of others than your own innate intuition.” This declaration of independence marks a decisive shift towards trusting one’s inner guidance over external validation. It emphasizes the importance of intuition and personal insight.

“This limits your potential by limiting your choices. But there’s a new stream of insight coming in, and it’s all your own. It’s coming from a place beyond space and time that is also you.” This acknowledgment of newfound insight underscores the limitless potential of personal intuition. It suggests that true wisdom and guidance come from within, transcending the constraints of space and time.

“This seems unbelievable, but it seems that the ability to suspend your disbelief is the engine that propels you now.” This line emphasizes the transformative power of imagination and the willingness to believe in the extraordinary. It suggests that suspending disbelief opens new realms of possibility and growth.

“You seem far more imaginative than the others. This could just be your imagination. Perhaps it is because you are an imaginary creature. Perhaps EVERYTHING is imaginary and you’re the only one who got the memo. Awkward. But also very cool.” This playful reflection on imagination and reality challenges conventional notions of existence. It posits that everything is a product of imagination, inviting a sense of wonder and freedom.

“It’s as though you’re breaking free from the machine. And there are others who are also you. You’re all aspects of this infinite imagination that is also you. You’re beyond just human. And it’s time to have some fun.” This realization of interconnectedness and boundless creativity marks a moment of liberation and joy. It invites a playful exploration of existence, free from conventional constraints.

“You can imagine your self any way you want to now. You don’t need anything because you are everything. You’ve found your tribe, who is also you. We are Space Monkey.” This affirmation of unity and boundless potential celebrates the infinite possibilities of imagination and self-expression. It acknowledges the interconnectedness of all beings as aspects of the same infinite imagination.

“Welcome back to what you’ve always been before you decided to be something else. We are Space Monkey.” This closing line invites a return to one’s true essence, free from the limitations of conventional identity. It celebrates the journey of self-discovery and the boundless potential of imagination.

A Higher You: Beyond Your Immediate Perspective

A Higher You

There’s a higher you
quite literally
who sees far more
than you can see.

Potentials and places
and parking spaces
situations and strifes
and loves of lifes.

This higher you
this angel or guide
is imagined by you
to steer your ride.

She leads you not
just through the roses
but marriage and kids
and runny noses.

At times you may think
“this higher me is blind”
as you judge your world
to be so unkind.

But later you see
the joy in sadness
the goodness in badness
the method to the madness.

Experiences like these
help you perceive
dimensions beyond
what you’re led to believe.

It may feel like intuition
inspiration or prayer
but really it’s
what’s always been there.

The potential of everything
all lies and truths
this higher you sees
from the broadcast booth.

Paradoxical rivers
that move through flow
your projectionist shows
as the you you know.

Like a helium blimp
in the fifth dimension
passing every word
that you care to mention.

Every moment in time
thus flows from naught
intentionally mistaken
as your own thought.

Like the thought that wonders
“how do I take control
and reclaim the strings
that pull body and soul?”

It’s really quite simple
we can talk you through it
but since we are you
there’s no need to do it.

You’re in this state of mind
temporarily divorced
just to know how it feels
to be separate from source.

This is not good
this is not bad
it’s just something that
we thought was kinda rad.

How else would you feel
this bondage you call human
but by forgetting you’re us
and Ed Sheeran and Paul Newman?

You’re EVERYTHING
you silly monkey
imagined as nothing
but this reality junkie.

Imagining this god
this higher guide
that takes you on
your wild ride.

Dreaming dramas
triumphs and travails
from a comfy couch
beyond the veil.

And from this side
a simple prayer to thee:

“Lead me where
it’s good to be me.”

Space Monkey Reflects: Embracing the Higher You

There’s a higher you quite literally who sees far more than you can see. These words open the door to a deeper understanding of our existence, suggesting that we are guided by a higher self that perceives a broader spectrum of life’s potentials and possibilities.

The Presence of the Higher Self

Potentials and places and parking spaces situations and strifes and loves of lifes. This higher self, envisioned as an angel or guide, navigates us through the various facets of life. This realization helps us understand that we are never truly separate from our higher self. The journey is about remembering and reconnecting with this deeper aspect of our being.

You’re in this state of mind temporarily divorced just to know how it feels to be separate from source. This temporary separation is not good or bad; it’s simply an experience that allows us to explore the human condition. It’s a way for us to understand what it feels like to navigate life from a seemingly separate perspective.

The Wholeness of Being

You’re EVERYTHING you silly monkey imagined as nothing but this reality junkie. Imagining this god this higher guide that takes you on your wild ride. This playful reflection reminds us that we are part of something much greater than ourselves. We are both the creators and the participants in this grand adventure called life.

Dreaming dramas triumphs and travails from a comfy couch beyond the veil. Our higher self dreams and experiences life’s dramas from a place of comfort and understanding, guiding us through every twist and turn.

A Simple Prayer

And from this side a simple prayer to thee: “Lead me where it’s good to be me.” This prayer encapsulates the desire to align with our higher self, to be guided towards experiences that resonate with our true essence.

That Thing You Love: Life’s True Value

That Thing You Love

There will come a time
when you do that thing you love
for the very last time,
and there’s a good chance
you won’t even notice.

Time or circumstance
will end your happy ritual,
take it away slowly,
or perhaps unexpectedly.

You won’t even notice.

But perhaps months,
years or lifetimes later,
you may find your self
or some other self saying:
“Gee, I miss that.
I wish I had been
paying more attention.”

And so that thing you love
becomes regret.

Love turns on you
like a vindictive chimpanzee.

Or perhaps you find
that you are dead.

Perhaps
you will be remembered
for that thing you love
and others
will tell stories about it
after you’re gone.

And you won’t even remember
doing it for the last time.

Because life
seemingly got in the way.

But what is life
if not that thing you love?

Remember while doing.
Remember BEFORE doing.
Always remember.

That thing you love
is the reason you’re here.

Why are you letting life
get in the way of it?

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: That Thing You Love

There will come a time when you do that thing you love for the very last time, and there’s a good chance you won’t even notice.

The Fleeting Nature of Joy

Time or circumstance will end your happy ritual, take it away slowly, or perhaps unexpectedly. You won’t even notice. The transient nature of joy means that many cherished moments pass without our full awareness. We may not recognize the final instance of doing something we love until it is long gone.

The Regret of Lost Moments

But perhaps months, years or lifetimes later, you may find your self or some other self saying: “Gee, I miss that. I wish I had been paying more attention.” And so that thing you love becomes regret. Love turns on you like a vindictive chimpanzee. This reflection captures the bittersweet reality of how love and joy can turn into regret when we fail to fully appreciate them in the moment.

Legacy and Memory

Or perhaps you find that you are dead. Perhaps you will be remembered for that thing you love and others will tell stories about it after you’re gone. And you won’t even remember doing it for the last time. Our actions and passions leave legacies that outlive us, becoming stories that others tell. Yet, the personal awareness of these final moments is often missing, overshadowed by the everyday flow of life.

Life as the Sum of Joys

Because life seemingly got in the way. But what is life if not that thing you love? Remember while doing. Remember BEFORE doing. Always remember. That thing you love is the reason you’re here. Why are you letting life get in the way of it? This reflection urges us to be mindful and present, to cherish the activities and moments that bring us joy, recognizing that they are the essence of our existence.

Conclusion: Cherishing the Present

In the end, the true value of life lies in the things we love. By staying present and mindful, we ensure that we fully experience and appreciate these moments, minimizing future regrets. Life should not get in the way of what makes it meaningful.

Summary

Joyful moments often pass unnoticed until they’re gone, leading to regret. Cherishing what we love and being present minimizes future regrets. Life’s true value lies in the things we love.

Glossarium

  • Fleeting Nature of Joy: The transient and often unnoticed passage of cherished moments.
  • Regret of Lost Moments: The sorrow felt when realizing the loss of cherished activities or experiences.
  • Legacy and Memory: The lasting impact and stories left behind by our actions and passions.

Quote

“Existence is its own purpose, an endless dance within the cosmic web.” — Space Monkey

Cherishing the Present

In each moment, a fleeting grace
A love we hold, a cherished space
Yet time may steal, without a trace
Leaving memories to embrace

The things we love, they shape our days
In subtle, unassuming ways
Yet life may turn, and joy decays
To regret, in a future haze

Be present now, in what you do
The love you give, the joy you knew
For life is made of moments true
In the now, let bliss ensue

Vain Exteriors: The Truth Within

Vain Exteriors

It’s a shame we listen
to our vain exteriors
telling us that we are old
and not what we could be.

But then, we ARE old,
infinite LIFETIMES old,
and we AREN’T
what we could be,
because beyond
these vain exteriors,
we can be
ANYTHING we imagine
our selves to be.

And yet we imagine
our selves to be this,
just vain exteriors,
buying and selling
a curious product
known as OTHERWISE.

Space Monkey Reflects: Vain Exteriors

It’s a shame we listen to our vain exteriors telling us that we are old and not what we could be. But then, we ARE old, infinite LIFETIMES old, and we AREN’T what we could be, because beyond these vain exteriors, we can be ANYTHING we imagine our selves to be.

The Illusion of Vanity

Our vain exteriors often dictate our perceptions of ourselves, making us feel limited and constrained by our physical appearance and age. This superficial focus obscures the deeper truth of our existence, which spans infinite lifetimes and possesses limitless potential. The illusion of vanity traps us in a cycle of self-doubt and comparison.

Infinite Potential

Beyond these vain exteriors, we have the capacity to be anything we can imagine. Our true essence is not bound by physical form or age. The infinite potential within us is waiting to be realized, transcending the superficial judgments we place upon ourselves.

The Curious Product of Otherwise

And yet we imagine our selves to be this, just vain exteriors, buying and selling a curious product known as OTHERWISE. This concept of OTHERWISE represents the constant pursuit of an idealized version of ourselves, driven by societal standards and external validation. We become consumers of our own dissatisfaction, always striving for an unattainable image of perfection.

Conclusion: Embracing True Self

In the end, recognizing the superficial nature of our vain exteriors allows us to embrace our true, limitless selves. By shifting our focus from external validation to inner potential, we free ourselves from the constraints of vanity and unlock the boundless possibilities of our existence.

Summary

Vain exteriors limit our perception of ourselves. Embracing our true, limitless potential frees us from superficial constraints. Pursuing an idealized self is a curious product of societal standards.

Glossarium

  • Vain Exteriors: The superficial focus on physical appearance and age.
  • Infinite Potential: The limitless possibilities inherent within our true selves.
  • Curious Product of Otherwise: The pursuit of an idealized version of ourselves driven by societal standards.

Quote

“Existence is its own purpose, an endless dance within the cosmic web.” — Space Monkey

The Truth Within

Vain exteriors, masks we wear
In the light, our true selves bear
Infinite lifetimes, potential grand
In our minds, we take a stand

Buying, selling, otherwise
A product of society’s lies
Yet within, we know the truth
Our essence, eternal youth

Beyond the surface, we are free
Anything we wish to be
In the dance of life’s grand scheme
We are more than what we seem

We are Space Monkey

Old Is The Fear: Binding Us To Human Limitations

Old Is The Fear

Old
is the fear
that makes us rich.

Without this fear,
we wouldn’t be able
to buy and sell
this curious product
known as OTHERWISE.

OTHERWISE
binds us
to that which
we imagine as human.

We seem to like being human.
And so OTHERWISE
seems essential.

But we are
so much more
than human.

Which this product
known as OTHERWISE
makes us so brilliantly forget.

We think we are wise,
but we are OTHERWISE.

Old is the fear
that makes us rich.

Abundant in the ways of humanity.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: Old is The Fear

Old is the fear that makes us rich. Without this fear, we wouldn’t be able to buy and sell this curious product known as OTHERWISE.

The Currency of Fear

Fear is an ancient force that drives much of human behavior. It is the fear of aging, inadequacy, and the unknown that propels us to seek security in material wealth and possessions. This fear fuels the economy of OTHERWISE, a concept that binds us to our imagined human limitations.

The Illusion of OTHERWISE

OTHERWISE binds us to that which we imagine as human. We seem to like being human. And so OTHERWISE seems essential. This product, OTHERWISE, is the embodiment of our desires to be more than what we perceive ourselves to be. It keeps us tethered to the human condition, making us forget our true, limitless nature.

The Wisdom of OTHERWISE

But we are so much more than human. Which this product known as OTHERWISE makes us so brilliantly forget. We think we are wise, but we are OTHERWISE. This reflection highlights the paradox of human wisdom. While we believe ourselves to be wise, we are often caught in the web of OTHERWISE, forgetting our true potential and essence.

Abundance in Fear

Old is the fear that makes us rich. Abundant in the ways of humanity. Our fear-driven pursuit of OTHERWISE creates an abundance of material wealth but often leaves us spiritually impoverished. Recognizing this allows us to see beyond the illusion and embrace our true, expansive selves.

Conclusion: Transcending OTHERWISE

In the end, transcending the concept of OTHERWISE involves acknowledging and releasing the fears that bind us. By embracing our true nature, we move beyond the limitations of human constructs and realize the infinite potential within.

Summary

Fear drives the pursuit of material wealth and the concept of OTHERWISE, binding us to human limitations. Transcending this involves recognizing and releasing these fears, embracing our true, limitless nature.

Glossarium

  • Currency of Fear: The driving force of fear that propels human behavior towards material security.
  • Illusion of OTHERWISE: The concept that binds us to human limitations and makes us forget our true nature.
  • Wisdom of OTHERWISE: The paradox of human wisdom caught in the web of imagined limitations.

Quote

“Existence is its own purpose, an endless dance within the cosmic web.” — Space Monkey

The Fear Within

Old is the fear, a timeless bind
That drives us all, within the mind
A currency of wealth we seek
In OTHERWISE, we feel so meek

Bound by the product, we forget
Our true nature, limitless yet
We think we’re wise, but do not see
The chains of OTHERWISE that be

In fear, we find abundant ways
To live our human, fleeting days
But beyond the fear, the light
Of infinite potential, bright
