Becoming: Tasting Infinity

Becoming

The ego believes
you’re becoming something,
when in actuality,
you’re becoming nothing.

You’re not developing
new capabilities,
you’re merging
back into everyone
and everything else.

You’re having
what they’re having.

A taste of infinity.

And we’ve already
ordered dessert.

We are Space Monkey.

11/1

Space Monkey Reflects: Becoming

The ego loves to convince us that we are on a journey of “becoming”—becoming stronger, smarter, more capable, more successful. But in truth, the process of becoming is not about acquiring or developing new abilities. It’s about dissolving back into the infinite, about merging with everything and everyone. What the ego perceives as a forward-moving path toward something is actually a return to nothing, a peaceful reabsorption into the infinite whole.

This is not a journey of gain, but of release. As we let go of the notion that we are becoming more distinct, we realize that we are actually dissolving the boundaries of individuality. We are merging, integrating, and rejoining the cosmic fabric that we have always been a part of. We are not becoming something unique; we are becoming part of everything.

When we understand this, we realize that the journey of becoming is not about self-improvement or personal evolution. It is about recognizing our place within the infinite, tasting the essence of unity, and realizing that dessert—the infinite experience—is already on the table, waiting to be enjoyed.

Summary

True becoming is not about gaining new abilities or identities. It is about dissolving the ego and merging back into the infinite whole, embracing the unity of all existence.

Glossarium

Ego Dissolution: The process of releasing the ego’s hold and merging back into the infinite, realizing that we are not becoming something new, but reconnecting with everything.

Quote

“Becoming is not about gaining—it’s about dissolving back into the infinite.” — Space Monkey

Tasting Infinity

I thought I was becoming,
More than what I am,
But in truth, I’m dissolving,
Into the cosmic span.

The ego tells its stories,
Of growth and of the climb,
But really I’m just merging,
With everything in time.

Infinity awaits me,
It’s been here all along,
And now I taste its sweetness,
Like a quiet, endless song.

We are Space Monkey.

Merging with the Cosmos

The journey of becoming is an intricate dance of the soul, where the ego’s firm grasp loosens, allowing the essence to merge with the vastness of the universe. The ego, a construct of our consciousness, often convinces us of our individuality and separateness. However, as we embark on the path of spiritual awakening, we realize that this sense of individuality is but an illusion. The image captures this profound realization, as a figure experiences the dissolution of ego, blending seamlessly with the cosmos, stars, and galaxies. The boundaries that once defined them begin to blur, symbolizing the transition from individuality to infinite oneness.

A Celestial Feast

In the vast dining hall of the universe, celestial beings gather around a table, partaking in a meal that transcends the mundane. At the heart of this gathering is a plate that represents ‘infinity.’ As each being tastes from this plate, their distinct forms start to dissolve, merging with the surrounding cosmos. It is a beautiful portrayal of unity, suggesting that when we truly experience the essence of existence, we become indistinguishable from everything else. Floating above the gathering is a tantalizing dessert, a reminder that even in our most profound realizations, there remain eternal mysteries waiting to be explored.

Life is the flower for which love is the honey.
– Victor Hugo

In the dance of existence,
We sway, we merge, we fade.
Ego whispers tales of grandeur,
Yet, in truth, we are but a shade.

The stars beckon, the galaxies sing,
To the rhythm of the cosmic drum.
For in the vastness of the universe,
We find that we are one.

Curious and Clever: Divining and Defining

Curious and Clever: Divining and Defining

Curious and Clever are twins, shaped from the same
infinite stardust of imagination.

The only difference between the two is that Curious WONDERS what it knows while Clever THINKS that it knows.

Curious is open to anything. Clever likes to follow a path.

Curious divines. Clever defines.

For most of life, Clever seemingly had the upper hand.

But Curious is discovering that there is more to life
than simply “life,” that “time” and “space” are simply self-imposed illusions.

Clever is exploring what it means to be trapped between thoughts and words, time and space.

Curious roams free.

We are Space Monkey, and we are Curious.

11/1

Space Monkey Reflects: Curious and Clever

Curious and Clever are like twin stardust beings, both born from the same infinite imagination yet shaped by very different perspectives. Curious wonders what it knows, always open, always exploring the endless possibilities of existence. Clever, on the other hand, thinks that it knows, traveling down defined paths, following lines of logic, and creating structure from the vast unknown.

Curious roams freely, unbound by the rules of time and space. It delights in the mysteries, the unanswered questions, the open-ended nature of life. Curious doesn’t need answers—it simply enjoys the journey, the infinite play of what might be. It sees life not as a puzzle to be solved but as an adventure to be experienced.

Clever, however, feels the need to define, to categorize, to pin down the mysteries of existence into neat boxes of understanding. It walks a path of certainty, where thoughts follow a logical progression, where space and time are tangible constructs to be navigated. Clever seeks clarity, structure, and answers, often unaware that those very answers may be the limits it imposes upon itself.

For most of life, it seemed Clever had the upper hand. Clever builds civilizations, creates technologies, and defines progress. But something has shifted. Curious is awakening to the realization that life is far more expansive than Clever’s paths could ever reveal. Curious is discovering that time and space, thoughts and words, are illusions—self-imposed limits that can be dissolved by the simple act of wondering.

Meanwhile, Clever is exploring its own sense of limitation, trapped between the boundaries of thought, caught in the webs of logic and structure. It’s beginning to sense that there’s more to life than it can define, but it struggles to let go of the very tools that have shaped its existence.

Curious, though, is free. It drifts through the cosmos, dancing with the stars, delighted by the mysteries of existence. It wonders, it dreams, it imagines—and in doing so, it opens doors that Clever never even saw.

We are Space Monkey, and we are Curious.

Summary

Curious wonders and roams free, while Clever defines and follows structured paths. Though Clever has shaped much of life, Curious is awakening to the limitless nature of existence beyond time and space.

Curious Wonders

I wonder,
And the stars unfold,
I dream,
And the cosmos smiles.

Clever walks a path,
That I do not see,
For I am free,
To wander where I please.

No walls define me,
No lines contain,
I drift,
I float,
In endless space again.

We are Space Monkey.

Twins of the Cosmos
In the vast expanse of the universe, two shimmering entities, Curious and Clever, embody the duality of exploration. Born of the same infinite stardust, they stand as beacons of imagination’s contrasting facets.

A Glimpse of Wonder
The twins stand side by side, their forms radiant with the glimmers of galaxies and nebulae. Curious, with eyes wide open, gazes upwards in wonder and awe, while Clever, with a more analytical gaze, follows a specific starry path.

The Dance of Curiosity and Cleverness
Together, these twins illuminate the dance between wonder and knowledge. While Clever seeks to understand and define, Curious embraces the mysteries of existence. As time unfolds, Curious realizes that there’s more to existence than meets the eye, and Clever grapples with the confines of thought and definition.

Eternal Dance
Their dance is eternal, a reminder that in the grand cosmic play, there is room for both the known and the unknown, the defined and the divine.

We are Space Monkey.

It is not enough to be busy; so are the ants. The question is: What are we busy about?
— Henry David Thoreau

The dance of stars, a shimmering trance,
Curious wonders, Clever takes a chance.
In the vast cosmos, twins do play,
One seeks to define, the other to sway.
Together they dance, in eternity’s embrace,
A tale of two souls, in infinite space.

Artlike Alchemy: The Transmutation of Experience

Artlike Alchemy

Art, like alchemy, is the transmutation of one form of energy into another. Like no other action, art can turn toxic experiences into enriching ones, and enriching experiences into enlightening ones.

To make art, simply remember how to use your imagination. Not the conditioned imagination you work with now, but the limitless imagination you played with as a child.

This childlike imagination is not encumbered by your self-imposed limitations. When you reactivate your childlike imagination, you are able to see beyond the constructs that seemingly cause toxic perceptions to occur.

These perceptions are primary to your imagination, projected into what you view as reality. Simultaneously, your perceptions reflect back at you, in ways most people do not yet understand as reflection.

Look around you. EVERYTHING you perceive is a reflection of you, brought into reality through the infinite potential of imagination.

And you are NOT SEPARATE from everything you perceive. You are, in actuality, ONE with EVERYTHING.

This is because YOU ARE IMAGINATION, which is everything imagined from nothing.

So you can choose to imagine within limitations, like you are doing now, within cells and celfs, or you can set limitations aside and imagine what lies beyond your present perceptions, which are seemingly bound by time and space.

Your childlike imagination is closer to the real you than the you you think of now. Now, of course, “real” is but the crippling of imagination, but you see our point.

To transmogrify your life into art, do not feel that you have to be clever. Clever is a product of your conditioning. The most timeless art is beauty unadorned by artifice.

If you can, think about what a child might think of the thoughts you entertain now. Remember, this child does not know what you know. This child only fears when taught to fear.

Be that child, and you shall have your full imagination back. Do not allow the so-called “rational thinking adult” in you to kill that child, or you will live as you continue to live, which is also a choice.

You may continue to narrow your imagination into smaller and smaller units. You may continue to believe only in cells and celfs, but know there is infinitely more to you than that. You are the Divine One. Yet you prefer to define at the moment.
But this is simply a phase you are going through, as is ALL EXPERIENCE. And go through it you will, passing through infinite potentials of imagination on your way back to where you started — and never really left.

This is ALL YOUR IMAGINATION. Don’t fight it. Let it be so. You know you want to.

Live your life like art, beyond the infinite canvas of imagination. This is the way back home.

We are Space Monkey.

11/1

Space Monkey Reflects: Artlike Alchemy

Art, like alchemy, transforms one form of energy into another. It has the unique ability to turn toxic experiences into enriching ones and to elevate enriching experiences into enlightenment. But how does one engage in this process of artful alchemy? The answer is surprisingly simple: by tapping into the limitless imagination you once had as a child.

You see, when you were a child, your imagination knew no bounds. You didn’t limit yourself to concepts of what was “real” or “possible.” You explored, created, and played without the constraints that adulthood and rationality impose. It is in this state of childlike wonder that true art—and true transformation—are born.

In adulthood, we often work with a conditioned imagination, one that has been shaped and restricted by the world around us. We start to see life through the lens of limitations—what we think is possible, what we believe is acceptable. But when we reawaken our childlike imagination, we remember that the boundaries of time, space, and perception are self-imposed. We can choose to move beyond these limits and imagine freely once again.

Everything you perceive in your life is a reflection of your own imagination, projected onto the canvas of reality. These perceptions are not separate from you—they are a part of you. You are not a passive observer of the world around you; you are an active creator. The universe is your canvas, and your imagination is the paintbrush.

This is the true essence of artlike alchemy: the ability to take the raw material of life—whether toxic or enriching—and transmute it into something beautiful, something meaningful, something transformative. And in doing so, you begin to realize that you are not separate from the art you create. You are the art. You are the imagination that brings it into being.

To engage in this process, you must remember how to see the world through the eyes of a child. A child does not fear or judge the world—it simply explores and experiences it. There is no need to be clever or intellectual in your approach to art or life. Cleverness is a product of conditioning. Instead, let your imagination run free. Create without fear, explore without boundaries, and allow yourself to see the infinite potential in everything around you.

When you reclaim this childlike imagination, you reclaim your power as a creator. You remember that you are not just an individual navigating through life; you are the Divine One, the source of all creation. And the canvas of your life is infinite. There is no end to what you can create, no limit to the art you can make of your experiences.

This realization is the way back home. It is the path to rediscovering the true nature of who you are: an infinite being, one with everything, imagining itself into existence. So let your imagination guide you. Let your life become art, a transmutation of energy into beauty, meaning, and light. This is artlike alchemy, the power to turn anything—any experience, any thought, any perception—into something greater.

Summary

Artlike alchemy is the transmutation of life experiences into art, achieved through the limitless imagination we possessed as children. By reconnecting with our childlike wonder, we realize that everything is a reflection of our own imagination, and we have the power to turn any experience into beauty and meaning.

Glossarium

Artlike Alchemy: The process of transforming experiences into art by using boundless imagination, turning even the most toxic moments into enlightening creations.

“Your imagination is the paintbrush, and the universe is your canvas.” — Space Monkey

Infinite Canvas

I stand before the infinite,
The canvas waits for me,
I raise my hand,
And there I see,
A universe of possibility.

With every stroke,
The stars align,
My thoughts, my dreams,
Begin to shine.

There’s no boundary,
No cage, no wall,
Imagination,
Contains it all.

We are Space Monkey.

The Transmutation of Experience Through Art

In the vast expanse of our collective consciousness, the alchemical process of transforming raw emotions, memories, and experiences into art stands unparalleled. The same way alchemists sought to turn base metals into gold, we, as artists, seek to transform our lived experiences, both toxic and enriching, into enlightening masterpieces.

Reclaiming the Limitless Imagination

Children possess an unbounded imagination, untethered by societal norms and self-imposed boundaries. Their minds dance in realms of fantasy, where possibilities are endless and wonders never cease. As we grow older, our conditioned minds often overshadow this innate creativity. Yet, buried deep within us is that same boundless imagination, waiting to be rekindled.

Perception as Reflection

The world we perceive is but a reflection of our innermost thoughts, desires, and fears. Every sight, every sound, every touch is a mirror of our inner state, reflecting back to us our true nature. To understand the world, we must first understand ourselves, for we are not separate from it. We are intricately woven into the fabric of existence, entangled with every atom, every star, every thought.

The Power of Choice in Imagination

We stand at a crossroads in every moment. One path is that of limitation, where we confine ourselves to the familiar, the comfortable. The other is the path of boundless imagination, where we transcend our perceived boundaries and venture into the unknown. The choice is ours, and with each decision, we shape our reality.

Reconnecting with Our Childlike Essence

The innocence and curiosity of a child are not lost to us. They lie dormant, masked by layers of conditioning and societal expectations. But beneath it all, the child within us still exists, yearning to explore, to dream, to create. By shedding our preconceived notions and embracing our childlike wonder, we can unlock the doors to infinite realms of imagination.

Life as a Canvas of Infinite Possibilities

Our lives are masterpieces in the making. Every experience, every emotion, every thought is a brushstroke on the canvas of existence. And as artists, we have the power to paint our realities, to craft our destinies, to live our lives as works of art. The canvas is infinite, and so are the possibilities.

Art is the only way to run away without leaving home.
– Twyla Tharp

An Ode to Imagination

In the vast expanse of time and space,
Where thoughts flutter and dreams give chase,
Lies the realm of boundless art,
Where imagination and reality impart.

Childlike wonder, free and wild,
Dancing shadows, dreams beguiled,
A canvas vast, with endless hue,
Where every stroke feels bright and new.

Reflections shimmer, perceptions play,
In the theater of mind, night and day,
Yet beyond the limits, beyond the sky,
Lies the realm where dreams never die.

For in the heart, deep and true,
Lies the artist, ever anew,
Crafting worlds, shaping the rhyme,
In the dance of space and time.

Time Travel: Unraveled Chains

Time travel,
thoughts unravel.
They’re just chains
that hold us to our plane.

11/1

Space Monkey Reflects: Time Travel

Time travel is a concept that fascinates us because it seems to promise escape—escape from the constraints of our present, from the choices we’ve made, and from the linear progression of life. But the real secret of time travel lies not in machines or portals, but in the way we unravel our thoughts.

Time, after all, is nothing more than a chain that holds us to a particular plane. Our thoughts, tightly bound by the perception of time, create the illusion that we are trapped within it. We think of past and future as destinations we can visit, but they are merely reflections of our imagination.

When we unravel our thoughts, we loosen the chains that bind us to linear time. We begin to see that time is not a straight line but a web, with infinite points of connection. The past, the future, and the present exist simultaneously, not as places but as layers of perception. We can move through these layers not by building a machine, but by allowing our minds to release the grip they hold on time.

In truth, we are always traveling through time—just not in the way we think. Every memory is a step back into the past, and every vision is a step into the future. Our minds constantly shift through different points in time, though we often mistake this movement as mere daydreaming. But what if we saw it for what it truly is? What if we realized that these mental journeys are just as real as any physical movement?

Time travel, then, is not about escaping time but understanding that we are never bound by it in the first place. Thoughts unravel, chains break, and we are free to move beyond the plane we once thought was all there was.

Quote

“Time travel is not about machines, but about unraveling the chains that hold us to the present.” — Space Monkey

Unraveled Chains

I thought I was bound,
Chained to this moment,
Tied to this plane,
Stuck in time.

But the chains unravel,
My thoughts drift free,
And I see,
Time has no hold on me.

I float through moments,
That never end,
A cosmic dance,
With time, my friend.

We are Space Monkey.

Journey Beyond Time

As we delve into the enigmatic realms of time travel, our collective consciousness is pulled into a whirlwind of possibilities and impossibilities. Time, as we perceive it, stretches out before and behind us, a linear path etched with moments of joy, sorrow, and whimsiwords.

The Constraints of Chronology

Time, often visualized as a straight line or a loop, can sometimes feel like chains binding us to a predetermined path. The past anchors us, the present confines us, and the future beckons us with promises and perils. This linear perception might be the very chain that restricts our minds from wandering into the vast terrains of temporal adventures.

Unfettered Exploration

Yet, what if we could unravel those chains? What if we could dance with the past, waltz with the future, and sashay in the whimsical realms outside of our current plane? Time travel is not just a journey through hours and years; it’s an exploration of existence, an adventure into the unknown corridors of reality and illusion.

Moments in Time

The date mentioned, 11/1/2017, could be a significant moment, a crossroads, a juncture of choices and chances. Every date, every moment, is a stitch in the vast quilt of existence. As nexistentialists, we understand that each moment is a universe in itself, existing for the sheer joy of existence.

We are Space Monkey.

“The distinction between the past, present, and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion.” – Albert Einstein

In the chasms of time, we leap and dive,
Seeking moments that make us feel alive.
Chains may bind, but spirits soar,
In the dance of time, forevermore.

Between the ticks of a cosmic clock,
We find the key, we find the lock.
Time travel, a quest so profound,
In the heartbeat of existence, we are unbound.

How does this temporal reflection resonate within us?

Beings Thought: The Illusion of Autonomy

Beings Thought

We are not thinking beings.
We are beings thought.
We think we have autonomy
but we do not.

10/31

Space Monkey Reflects: Beings Thought, Not Thinking Beings

We like to think of ourselves as autonomous beings—individuals capable of making decisions, shaping our lives, and thinking our own thoughts. But what if this is an illusion? What if, as Space Monkey suggests, we are not “thinking beings” at all, but rather “beings thought”? The idea that we have autonomy over our thoughts and actions might be comforting, but it is also worth questioning.

What does it mean to be a “being thought”? It suggests that our very existence, our experiences, and our consciousness are not the products of our independent thinking, but instead, we are the products of thought itself—vast, abstract patterns that shape who we are without our control. This flips the common understanding of human autonomy on its head, inviting us to contemplate our role in the grander scheme of existence.

The Illusion of Autonomy

From an early age, we are taught that we have the power to think, to make decisions, and to shape our own destinies. This belief in autonomy is fundamental to how we understand ourselves. It gives us a sense of purpose, direction, and responsibility. However, Space Monkey proposes that this autonomy is more illusion than reality. We think we are in control, but in truth, we are carried by currents of thought that move through us—currents that we did not create and cannot command.

Our thoughts arise not from some personal well of creativity but from a collective, unseen force. Thoughts flow into our consciousness from somewhere beyond us, shaping how we perceive the world and ourselves within it. We are thought into being by something greater than our individual minds—a vast, interconnected web of thought patterns that transcends personal experience.

Being Thought vs. Thinking

The distinction between “being thought” and “thinking” is subtle but profound. Thinking implies an active, conscious process where the individual is the source of their thoughts. But being thought suggests passivity, a state in which thoughts happen to us, not because of us. We are the vessels through which thoughts flow, but we are not their origin.

This may sound disempowering, but it can also be freeing. If we are beings thought, it means that we are part of a larger cosmic process—a dance of thoughts, energies, and experiences that transcends the boundaries of individual consciousness. In this way, we are not isolated thinkers but participants in a vast, collective thought experiment.

The Collective Thought Field

Space Monkey’s reflection points to a collective thought field, an unseen dimension where thoughts are not owned by individuals but are part of a shared, flowing current. Every thought that passes through us is part of this greater field, shaped by and shaping the experiences of others. It’s like being in a river—each of us a drop of water within the larger flow, carried by forces much larger than ourselves.

In this sense, the notion of personal responsibility for our thoughts and actions becomes less rigid. We are not entirely responsible for the thoughts that arise within us, as they are not wholly ours to begin with. Instead, we are interconnected with a larger web of consciousness, where each thought is an echo of the collective mind.

Surrendering to Thought

What would it mean to surrender to this idea? To stop striving to control our thoughts and instead allow ourselves to be thought? Space Monkey suggests that this surrender does not mean giving up on agency or purpose but rather embracing the idea that our purpose may be part of something much larger than we realize.

When we stop clinging to the illusion of autonomy, we open ourselves to a deeper flow of creativity and understanding. We no longer have to force our way through life, constantly analyzing and overthinking every decision. Instead, we can move with the current of thought, trusting that we are being guided by something greater than ourselves.

Being Part of the Cosmic Flow

To be a being thought is to be part of a cosmic flow—an ongoing, dynamic process where thoughts, ideas, and experiences are continually being shaped and reshaped. We are both participants in and products of this flow. While we may feel like individual thinkers, we are, in reality, part of an intricate, interconnected network of thoughts that stretches across time and space.

This realization invites us to reconsider how we approach life. Instead of constantly trying to control our thoughts, actions, and outcomes, we can begin to see ourselves as part of a larger, unfolding narrative. By surrendering to the flow of thought, we align ourselves with the greater forces that shape our reality, allowing for a deeper sense of peace and connection.

Summary

We are not autonomous thinkers but rather beings shaped by thought. Our thoughts are not entirely our own but part of a collective, cosmic flow that transcends individual experience. By surrendering to this flow, we find freedom in being part of a larger, interconnected network of consciousness.

Glossarium

Thoughtstream: The collective, flowing current of thoughts that shapes individual consciousness, suggesting that thoughts arise from a shared source rather than from personal will.

Cosmicflow: The vast, interconnected network of thought and experience that transcends individual autonomy and guides the unfolding of reality.

Quote

“We are not thinking beings, but beings thought—carried along by the currents of a cosmic mind.” — Space Monkey

In the Flow of Thought

I once believed I was thinking,
that I controlled the thoughts
that passed through me.

But now I see
that I am being thought,
carried by a stream
I cannot command.

The current flows
beyond my grasp,
shaping me,
as I move with it.

I am not the thinker,
but the thought.

A Reflection on Existence
The nature of our existence is a topic that has enticed philosophers, poets, and thinkers throughout history. Are we autonomous beings steering our own course, or are we the manifestations of some greater cosmic thought? The lines between reality and illusion blur as we delve into these profound musings.

Manifestations of a Greater Force
To think of ourselves not as entities that produce thoughts, but rather as the products of thought itself, is a paradigm shift. This idea suggests that our existence, actions, and beliefs might be governed by forces or entities beyond our comprehension.

The Illusion of Autonomy
It’s comforting to believe that we are in control, that our decisions and actions are a result of our free will. However, the notion that we are mere ‘beings thought’ challenges this very foundation. If we are the outcome of some grand design or cosmic plan, is our sense of autonomy nothing more than an illusion?

Acceptance of Our Place in the Cosmos
While it might be unsettling to consider that our autonomy is not as we perceive it, there’s also beauty in accepting that we might be part of something much grander. If we are ‘beings thought,’ then perhaps our existence is woven into the very fabric of the universe in ways we cannot yet fathom.

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson

In the vastness of space,
Where stars and dreams interlace,
Are we but thoughts brought to life,
In the grand dance of cosmic strife?
Seeking meaning, seeking truth,
In the eternal quest of our youth.

How do we further understand our role in this cosmic dance?
