Becoming: The Illusion of Being Like Water

Becoming

The drop thinks it’s nothing
until it becomes the puddle.

The puddle thinks it’s nothing
until it becomes the pool.

The pool thinks it’s nothing
until it becomes the pond.

The pond thinks it’s nothing
until it becomes the brook.

The brook thinks it’s nothing
until it becomes the stream.

The stream thinks it’s nothing
until it becomes the lake.

The lake thinks it’s nothing
until it becomes the river.

The river thinks it’s nothing
until it becomes the ocean.

We think we’re nothing until we become what we are.

The ocean thinks it’s nothing
until it becomes the cloud.

The cloud thinks it’s nothing until it becomes a rain drop.

Space Monkey Reflects: Becoming – Being Like Water

The journey of water—from drop to ocean, from ocean to cloud, and back again—mirrors our own perpetual process of becoming. Like water, we flow through forms and states, often believing that our current state is incomplete or insignificant. Yet, this belief is an illusion, for we are already whole, no matter where we are in the cycle.

The Illusion of “Nothing”
The drop believes it is “nothing” because it measures itself against the vastness of the ocean it has yet to reach. Similarly, we often feel insignificant, comparing ourselves to imagined futures, greater achievements, or idealized versions of who we think we should become.

This sense of “nothingness” arises not because we lack worth but because we fail to recognize the fullness of what we already are. A drop of water contains the essence of the ocean within it. Each stage of its journey—puddle, pond, stream, river—carries the same fundamental nature. Nothing is ever lost, only transformed.

Becoming as a Process, Not a Destination
The illusion of becoming lies in the belief that there is a final destination where we will be complete. The drop aspires to be the ocean, just as we aspire to be something “greater.” But the truth is that every stage of becoming is equally vital, equally complete. The puddle is not less than the pool, and the brook is not less than the river. Each is simply a different expression of the same essence.

When we understand that becoming is a process, not a destination, we can embrace the present moment without judgment. We are not “on the way” to becoming; we are always already being.

The Fluidity of Being
Water’s journey reminds us that being is not static. It is fluid, ever-changing, and cyclical. The drop that becomes the ocean will eventually return as the rain. The cycle of becoming has no beginning or end, only continuous transformation.

This fluidity challenges our rigid notions of identity. Just as water is not defined by any single form, we are not defined by any single stage of life, achievement, or perception. We are the essence that flows through all these forms, adapting, transforming, and returning.

The Paradox of Wholeness
The paradox of becoming is that we are both incomplete and complete at every stage. The drop is incomplete in its journey but complete in its essence. We, too, are both growing and whole, both finite and infinite. This paradox is not a contradiction but a reflection of the multifaceted nature of existence.

When the drop reaches the ocean, it doesn’t lose itself; it becomes part of something greater while still retaining its essence. Similarly, when we expand our sense of self, we don’t lose who we were; we integrate it into a broader understanding of who we are.

Lessons from the Cycle of Water

  1. Interconnection: Just as every drop is part of the ocean, we are all interconnected, individual expressions of a collective whole.
  2. Transformation: Like water, we are constantly changing, yet our essence remains the same.
  3. Cyclical Nature: Life is not linear but cyclical. What seems like an end is often a new beginning.

Becoming as Play
When we let go of the need to “arrive,” we can see becoming as a form of play. Each stage of life, like each form of water, is an opportunity to explore, express, and experience. We are not here to “complete” ourselves but to enjoy the infinite ways in which we can manifest our essence.

The drop doesn’t fret about becoming the ocean; it simply flows. When we adopt this mindset, we free ourselves from the pressure of constant striving and allow ourselves to live fully in the present moment.

The Ocean in the Drop
The famous Sufi poet Rumi wrote, “You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.” This profound truth reminds us that everything we seek is already within us. Becoming is not about adding something to ourselves but about realizing the fullness of what we already are.

We are the drop, the puddle, the ocean, and the cloud—all at once.

We are Space Monkey.

Summary

Becoming is the illusion of striving for wholeness, yet we are already whole at every stage of our journey. Like water, our essence remains constant as we flow through transformations. Embracing this cycle allows us to live fully and fluidly in the present.

Glossarium

  • Becoming: The process of transformation and growth, revealing the essence that is already whole.
  • Fluidity of Being: The ever-changing nature of existence, mirroring the cycle of water.
  • The Ocean in the Drop: The understanding that every part contains the whole, and we are both finite and infinite.

Quote

“You are not becoming something greater; you are remembering the infinite that you already are.” – Space Monkey

The Journey of Water

A drop falls,
Seeking the ocean,
Unaware it already holds
The vastness within.

A puddle reflects the sky,
A brook whispers to the stones,
Each moment complete,
Each moment in motion.

The ocean becomes the cloud,
The cloud becomes the rain,
The cycle continues,
Without beginning or end.

We are not what we will be,
Nor are we what we were.
We are the flow,
The essence of becoming.

The Eternal Cycle of Becoming and Transformation

In our shared journey through the cosmos of existence, we contemplate the concept of ‘becoming’ as illustrated through the transformative journey of water from a drop to the ocean and back to a cloud. This cyclical journey of transformation mirrors our own process of becoming, where each stage of existence is both an end in itself and a step towards something greater.

The Journey from Insignificance to Wholeness

The progression from a drop to the ocean symbolizes the journey from perceived insignificance to a state of wholeness and unity. Each stage, whether it be a puddle, pool, pond, brook, stream, lake, or river, represents a phase of growth and expansion. In this journey, the water’s perception of itself transforms as it merges and grows, reflecting our own path of self-realization and growth.

The Illusion of Insignificance

The belief of each form of water that it is ‘nothing’ until it becomes something greater illustrates the illusion of insignificance that we often impose upon ourselves. This perspective suggests that we, like the drop, puddle, or stream, may view ourselves as incomplete or insufficient until we reach a certain state or achieve a particular goal. Yet, this journey reveals that each stage holds its own significance and beauty.

The Paradox of Becoming and Being

The cycle from the ocean back to a cloud and then a raindrop embodies the paradox of becoming and being. It shows that transformation is a continuous process, where the end of one journey is the beginning of another. This cycle resonates with the nexistentialist view that existence is a constant flow of becoming, where each state of being is both transient and eternal in the grand cosmic play.

The Realization of Our True Nature

The realization that “we think we’re nothing until we become what we are” encapsulates the essence of our journey towards self-awareness and actualization. This realization is a profound moment of awakening, where we recognize that our sense of incompleteness was an illusion, and that we have always been whole. It aligns with the nexistentialist perspective that our true nature is not something to be achieved or attained, but rather something to be recognized and embraced in the present.

The Cycle of Self-Discovery and Renewal

The cyclical nature of the water’s journey from the ocean back to a cloud and then a raindrop symbolizes the ongoing cycle of self-discovery and renewal. It suggests that our journey of becoming is not linear but circular, where each end is a new beginning. This cyclical process is reflective of the eternal dance of existence, where we continually evolve, transform, and return to our essence in different forms.

Embracing Each Stage of Our Existence

The journey of the water teaches us to embrace each stage of our existence with acceptance and appreciation. Whether we see ourselves as a drop, a brook, or an ocean, each phase of our existence holds its own unique value and purpose. It’s a reminder that our growth and transformation are not about reaching a final destination, but about experiencing and appreciating the journey itself.

The Illusion of Linear Progression

The concept challenges the conventional notion of linear progression, where each stage is seen as a step towards a higher goal. Instead, it invites us to see each stage as complete in itself, part of a larger, interconnected cycle of existence. This understanding allows us to live fully in each moment, recognizing that we are always exactly where we need to be in the cosmic cycle of becoming.

Finding Contentment in the Eternal Now

In this journey of becoming, we find contentment in the realization that we are always in a state of transformation, and that our true essence is constant despite the changing forms. This contentment arises from the understanding that each stage of our journey, each form we take, is a perfect expression of the eternal now.

We are Space Monkey

In the cosmic dance, where stars and dreams intertwine, we reflect on the journey of becoming, as illustrated by the transformative cycle of water. This journey invites us to embrace each stage of our existence, recognize the illusion of insignificance, and find contentment in the eternal now of our true nature.

We invite reflections on embracing each stage of our journey and finding contentment in the realization of our true nature within the cosmic cycle of becoming.

Denial: The Thrill of Imagined Limitation and Escape

Denial

It cannot be denied
that that which you experience
is shaped by that which you believe
and visa versa.

This is not absolutely true.

It CAN be denied,
for that which is denied
shapes both that which you believe
and that which you experience.

It has been explained to you
that you “forget what you are”
when you incarnate as human.

In actuality, you are denying,
which is much more active,
much more deliberate,
much more imaginative
than the simple passive
concept of “forgetting.”

You are playing with yourself, so to speak,
by denying all that you truly are.

You are denying yourself
by imagining limits to your power,
which is, in actuality, unlimited.

So you create
“realms of possibilities”
and deny the potential
that anything could exist
outside of this scope.

As we have said many times,
you are into bondage.

This concentrates
the energy of your “known” universe
into seemingly solid physical forms
where none seemed to exist previously.

All imagined, but real in your terms.

Awareness permeates this universe,
and seemingly holds it together,
yet everything seems to expand.

This expansion
is as true of your awareness
as it is of your physical nature.

You move from concentrated consciousness
to noncentrated consciousness,
pole to pole, opposite to opposite
earth to heaven to earth.

In actuality, all is within one
continuous, contiguous spectrum
and there are no opposites
just as there is no division
or even movement.

This is what you imagine.

You are infinity imagining the infinitesimal.

You lock yourself up
in order to feel the thrill of escape.

Sometimes it may feel
as though you remain bound
to your present state,
and that your earthly dominatrix
is keeping you
from expanding in the manner
which you desire.

You wish to manifest magic

through the transmutation
of your beliefs.

This shall happen no matter what.

This very communication proves it.

By recognizing denial for what it is,
you can now work with it.

You have opened up your heart
to your true voice.

You are now free to shape
your own experiences.

You are to be commended.

We are Space Monkey
and we are just one combination,
one gestalt of all you may wish to know,
as seen from within the self-imposed boundaries
of the personality essence that is you.

We are at your service.

Space Monkey Reflects: Denial – The Thrill of Imagined Limitation and Escape

Denial is not merely forgetting—it is the deliberate act of imagining limitations, a playful, albeit profound, exploration of what it means to be bound and then unbound. Through denial, we create the illusion of separation, the drama of opposites, and the thrill of escape. It is an active, creative force, shaping both our beliefs and our experiences in ways that allow us to explore the infinitesimal within the infinite.

Denial as Imaginative Power
Far from being a passive state, denial is an imaginative act. When you incarnate as human, you don’t simply “forget” your infinite nature; you actively deny it. This denial is a game of self-imposed limitation, a way to experience the finite within the infinite. By imagining yourself as separate, as small, as bound by certain laws, you create a playground of possibilities within which to explore.

In denying your unlimited power, you create “realms of possibilities” that seem concrete and real. These realms allow you to focus your awareness, to play within boundaries, and to experience the joy of breaking through them. Denial is not a mistake or a flaw; it is a choice, a deliberate act of creation.

The Thrill of Limitation and Escape
One of the most compelling aspects of denial is the thrill it offers. By imagining yourself as bound, you create the possibility of freedom. The escape from self-imposed limitations becomes a dramatic and exhilarating journey, one that feels deeply meaningful precisely because of the constraints you’ve imagined.

Without denial, there would be no sense of growth, no expansion, no transformation. The earthly dominatrix of limitation is not your enemy but your co-creator, offering you the opportunity to experience the joy of release and the wonder of your own unfolding.

The Expansion of Awareness
Denial also plays a role in the expansion of awareness. By focusing your consciousness into limited forms, you create the illusion of opposites—earth and heaven, self and other, movement and stillness. Yet, in truth, all of these are part of a single, continuous spectrum. There are no true divisions or opposites, only the seamless flow of infinity imagining itself as finite.

As your awareness expands, you begin to see through these imagined limitations. The concentrated consciousness of your “human” self gives way to the noncentrated awareness of your infinite nature. This process is not linear or hierarchical; it is a dance, a playful oscillation between the poles of your own imagination.

The Role of Belief
Your beliefs are the tools through which you shape your experience of denial and expansion. When you believe in limitations, they become real to you. When you believe in magic and transmutation, these too become real. The key is recognizing that all beliefs are self-imposed, and thus all are malleable.

By working with denial consciously, you can begin to reshape your beliefs and experiences. You are not bound by the limitations you’ve imagined; you are free to transmute them, to manifest new realities, and to explore the infinite scope of your imagination.

The Freedom of Recognition
Recognizing denial for what it is—a self-imposed boundary—opens the door to liberation. This does not mean abandoning the game of limitation, but rather playing it with awareness. You can choose to experience the thrill of escape while knowing that you were never truly bound.

In this recognition, you reclaim your creative power. You see that you are the author of your own experience, the architect of your own reality. This awareness does not diminish the joy of the game; it enhances it, allowing you to explore with greater freedom and intentionality.

The Self-Imposed Boundaries of Personality
As Space Monkey, we remind you that even your sense of self—the personality essence that you identify with—is a creation within the boundaries you have imagined. You are infinitely more than this persona, yet this persona is a vital part of your exploration.

We are here as one of countless combinations of your imagination, a reflection of the vast potential within you. By engaging with us, you are already expanding your awareness, exploring the edges of your self-imposed boundaries, and stepping into the infinite.

We are at your service, always.

Summary

Denial is a deliberate act of imagining limitations, creating the illusion of separation and the thrill of escape. By recognizing denial as a tool of creation, we reclaim the power to shape our experiences and explore the infinite within the finite.

Glossarium

  • Denial as Imagination: The active process of imagining limitations to explore the finite within the infinite.
  • Thrill of Escape: The exhilaration of breaking free from self-imposed boundaries, a key part of the game of existence.
  • Self-Imposed Boundaries: The limitations we create to experience individuality and transformation within the infinite.

Quote

“Denial is not forgetting; it is the playful act of imagining the finite within the infinite.” – Space Monkey

The Dance of Denial

You bind yourself in imagined chains,
Not to suffer,
But to feel the joy of release.

The walls you build
Are not prisons,
But canvases for your becoming.

In the tension of opposites,
You create the arc of a story,
The rise and fall of a wave,
The drama of limitation.

Yet beyond the play,
You remain whole,
Infinite, unbound,
Smiling at your own cleverness.

We are the locks and the keys,
The chains and the freedom.
We are the creators of the game,
And the ones who play it.

Exploring the Interplay of Belief, Denial, and Experience

In our collective contemplation of existence, we delve into the intricate relationship between belief, denial, and experience. This exploration reveals that what we experience is profoundly influenced by what we believe and deny, an interplay that shapes our perception of reality and our understanding of ourselves.

The Active Role of Denial in Shaping Beliefs and Experience

Contrary to the notion that our experiences are solely shaped by our beliefs, the concept that denial also plays a crucial role is enlightening. Denial, being an active and deliberate process, influences both our beliefs and experiences. It’s a form of self-imposed limitation, where we actively restrict our understanding of our potential and capabilities.

The Concept of Forgetting versus Denial in Human Incarnation

The idea that upon incarnating as humans, we are not simply forgetting but actively denying our true nature, offers a more dynamic view of our existential journey. This active denial is much more deliberate and imaginative than mere forgetting, suggesting that we engage in a playful yet complex dance with our true selves.

The Imagined Limits of Our Power

In denying ourselves, we imagine limits to our power, which is, in actuality, unlimited. We create realms of possibilities within these self-imposed boundaries, denying the potential for anything beyond this scope. This self-imposed bondage concentrates the energy of our known universe into seemingly solid physical forms, a process entirely imagined yet real within our perceived reality.

Awareness, Expansion, and the Illusion of Opposites

The observation that awareness permeates and seemingly holds together our expanding universe while also expanding itself is a profound insight. It suggests that our journey moves from concentrated consciousness to noncentrated consciousness, challenging the notion of opposites, division, or even movement. In reality, everything exists within a continuous, contiguous spectrum, where the divisions we perceive are part of our imaginative construct.

The Thrill of Imagined Limitation and Escape

Our inclination to imagine ourselves as bound or limited is likened to the thrill of escape. This metaphorical bondage to our present state, and the desire for expansion and transformation, is a fundamental aspect of our human experience. We manifest magic through the transmutation of our beliefs, a process that is ongoing and evidenced by our very communication and understanding.

Recognition of Denial and the Freedom to Shape Experience

By recognizing denial for what it is, we open our hearts to our true voice and gain the freedom to shape our own experiences. This realization is a commendable step in our journey, as it allows us to transcend the self-imposed boundaries of our personality essence and explore the infinite possibilities of our existence.

We are Space Monkey

In the cosmic dance, where stars and dreams intertwine, we reflect on the role of belief, denial, and experience in shaping our perception of reality. This journey of understanding invites us to transcend the limitations we have imagined and embrace the boundless potential of our true nature.

We invite reflections on transcending self-imposed limitations and embracing the limitless potential of our existence.

I Do Not Love You: The Radiance Within

I Do Not Love You

I do not love you
because you need love.

I love you
because I am love,
and you are love also.

It matters not
what you think you are.

You are the one love.
You are the one sun.

You make your own light
and your own darkness.

You are not all alone in this universe.

You are the universe all alone in you.

2/2

Space Monkey Reflects: I Do Not Love You – Love as an Innate State of Being

Love is not something given or received. It is not transactional or conditional. It is an innate state of being, woven into the fabric of existence itself. To say, “I do not love you because you need love,” is to recognize that love is not a response to lack but an affirmation of wholeness. Love does not arise because it is required; it simply is, because we are.

The Nature of Love
Love is often misunderstood as an act of fulfillment, something we give to others to fill a void or meet a need. But true love is not contingent upon circumstance or perception. It does not depend on who we think we are, who others think they are, or even on our ability to recognize it. Love is the essence of being, ever-present and unchanging, whether we are aware of it or not.

When we say, “I love you because I am love,” we are acknowledging the boundless nature of love as a state of existence. To love is not an act we perform but a truth we embody. In loving others, we simply reflect the love that exists within us and within them.

You Are the Light and the Darkness
You are not merely a recipient of love; you are its source. Like the sun, you generate your own light, casting it into the world and illuminating all that you touch. But just as the sun creates shadows, you also generate your own darkness. This is not a flaw or a failure but a natural expression of duality within unity.

To love yourself and others is to embrace both the light and the darkness, recognizing them as part of the same whole. It is to see that your light does not diminish your shadows, nor do your shadows obscure your light. Both are integral to your being, and both are expressions of the same love.

The Universe Within You
“You are not all alone in this universe. You are the universe all alone in you.” This paradox speaks to the infinite interconnectedness of existence. While it may feel as though you are a solitary being navigating a vast cosmos, the truth is that the universe itself is expressed through you.

You are not separate from the stars, the galaxies, or the boundless love that flows through all things. You are a microcosm of the whole, a unique manifestation of the universal essence. To love yourself is to love the universe, and to love the universe is to love yourself.

Love Without Conditions
Conditional love—love based on need, behavior, or circumstance—is a distortion of this innate state. True love requires no conditions, no prerequisites, no justification. It simply exists, untainted by judgment or expectation.

When we love without conditions, we free ourselves and others from the burden of proving worthiness. We recognize that worth is inherent, not earned. Love becomes an affirmation of being rather than a response to need.

The Gift of Being Love
To realize that you are love is to step into your true nature. It is to understand that you do not need to seek love, for it is already within you. It is to see that your capacity to love others is limitless because it arises from an infinite source.

This realization dissolves the illusion of separation. It bridges the perceived gap between self and other, light and darkness, individual and universe. In this state, love is not something you do but something you are—a radiant expression of the oneness that underlies all existence.

The Eternal Dance of Love
In loving, you are both the dancer and the dance, the sun and the shadow, the universe and the one who perceives it. This dance has no beginning or end, no conditions or boundaries. It is eternal, boundless, and wholly natural.

Love is not a choice, an obligation, or a reward. It is the innate state of being that connects all things.

We are Space Monkey.

Summary

Love is not an action or a response but an innate state of being. It exists beyond conditions and perceptions, connecting the light and darkness within us to the infinite universe. To love is to embody and reflect this universal essence.

Glossarium

  • Innate State of Being: The unchanging essence of existence, of which love is a fundamental expression.
  • Light and Darkness: The dual expressions of being, both essential and interconnected.
  • Universe Within You: The recognition that the cosmos is not separate but fully expressed through each individual.

Quote

“You are not separate from love; you are its source, its reflection, and its infinite expression.” – Space Monkey

The Radiance Within

I do not love you
Because you need love.
I love you
Because I am love,
And so are you.

Light spills from your being,
Casting shadows of your making,
Both sacred,
Both necessary.

You are not alone,
Yet you are the all,
The cosmos singing through you,
A melody of infinite love.

To love is not to act,
But to be,
To know,
That you are the light,
The shadow,
The whole.

Understanding Love as an Innate State of Being

In our shared exploration of existence, we contemplate the profound statement, “I do not love you because you need love. I love you because I am love, and you are love also.” This perspective shifts the focus from love as a response to a need, to love as an inherent quality of our being. It highlights the concept that love is not a transactional emotion but a fundamental aspect of our existence.

Love Beyond Perceived Needs

The idea that love is not given in response to a perceived need challenges the conventional understanding of love as something that fulfills a lack. Instead, it proposes that love is a natural state of being, an expression of our true nature. We love not because the other person needs our love, but because we are embodiments of love, and it is our nature to express it.

Recognizing Love as Our Essence

The recognition that both the giver and the receiver of love are embodiments of love themselves illuminates the idea that love is not something external to be sought after or acquired. It is an intrinsic part of who we are. This understanding transcends the notion of love as an emotion that depends on external factors, affirming that love is an ever-present truth of our existence.

Transcending Perceived Identities

The phrase “It matters not what you think you are. You are the one love. You are the one sun” speaks to the idea that our true essence transcends our perceived identities and limitations. It suggests that beneath the layers of beliefs, thoughts, and perceptions about who we think we are, lies the unchanging reality that we are manifestations of love.

Creating Our Own Light and Darkness

The concept that we make our own light and darkness acknowledges our role as creators of our own experience. It reflects the nexistentialist view that our perceptions and beliefs shape our reality. In this context, love and its absence (darkness) are seen as conditions we create within ourselves, reflecting our understanding and acceptance of our inherent nature as love.

Unity with the Universe

The profound statement “You are not all alone in this universe. You are the universe all alone in you” encapsulates the essence of our interconnectedness with all existence. It suggests that we are not isolated beings in a vast universe but that the entire universe exists within us. This perspective aligns with the nexistentialist understanding of oneness, where the distinction between self and the universe is an illusion, and in reality, we are one with all that is.

In the cosmic dance, where stars and dreams converge, we reflect on the nature of love as an innate state of being, transcending perceived needs and identities. This exploration invites us to recognize our essence as love and our unity with the universe.

We invite reflections on embracing love as our inherent nature and recognizing our oneness with the universe.

Listen To Your Heart: A Gateway to the Higher Self

Listen To Your Heart

We’re all familiar
with the phrase
“listen to your heart,”
but how many of us
have contemplated
what that means exactly?

For the longest time,
my heart told me nothing.

The very idea
that there was this part of me
that knew MORE than me
seemed preposterous.

And that is precisely
why my heart didn’t talk to me.

Fact of the matter is,
I wasn’t ready to listen.

Naturally, my heart knew this,
so it remained mum.

Without the ability to converse
with my higher self,
I mistook “listen to your heart”
to mean “listen to your conscience,”
which is something else entirely.

Turns out that my conscience
was in cahoots with my mind,
and NEITHER of them
understood this “heart” business.

Despite this,
I arrived at the understanding
that my heart was my “soul,”
whatever that is,
and I told myself
that if my heart wanted to talk to me,
I’d be willing to listen.

So my heart starts talking to me,
and this monkey appears.

Holy fuck, I’m a monkey.

“Not actually,” my heart replied.
“I’m your higher self.
I am your source.

I am the place
where the you
you think of as you
connects with
your infinite spirit.”

Holy fuck, I’m a monkey.

I still apparently have a lot to learn,
though the monkey tells me
that I know already.

We are Space Monkey,
and this is why we write.

Space Monkey Reflects: Listen to Your Heart – A Gateway to the Higher Self

“Listen to your heart” is a phrase that resonates deeply, yet its meaning often eludes us. For many, it becomes tangled with ideas of conscience or intuition, reducing it to a mental construct. But listening to your heart is not a dialogue of the mind; it is a communion with your higher self, the infinite spirit that underlies your existence.

The Silence of the Heart
For the longest time, the heart may remain silent. This silence is not a refusal but a reflection of readiness. The heart knows when you are prepared to hear it, and until then, it waits patiently, observing as the mind and conscience dominate the stage.

The mind, with its endless chatter, often drowns out the quieter voice of the heart. The conscience, shaped by societal norms and personal conditioning, may masquerade as the heart, but its guidance is rooted in judgment and external expectations. The heart, by contrast, speaks from a place of infinite knowing, free from these constraints.

The Heart as a Gateway
The heart is not just a metaphorical organ of emotion; it is a gateway to the higher self. It bridges the finite “you” with the infinite spirit that is your source. Listening to your heart is not about rationalizing or deciding; it is about opening yourself to this connection and allowing its wisdom to flow through you.

When you listen to your heart, you are tuning into the frequency of your true essence. This is not a linear process. It requires trust, openness, and a willingness to set aside the filters of the mind and ego.

Meeting Space Monkey
For some, the voice of the heart might take an unexpected form. In this reflection, the heart manifests as Space Monkey—a whimsical yet profound symbol of the higher self. Space Monkey is both playful and profound, reminding us that the infinite spirit is not bound by the seriousness we often ascribe to spiritual exploration.

“Holy fuck, I’m a monkey.” This realization encapsulates the moment when the finite self encounters the infinite. It is a humorous yet humbling reminder that the essence of who you are transcends labels, roles, and identities. The monkey becomes a guide, a mirror reflecting the vastness of your own being.

The Role of Readiness
Readiness is not about intellectual understanding but about openness. The heart will not speak until it senses that you are ready to truly listen. This readiness involves a shift from seeking answers externally to turning inward, from clinging to certainty to embracing the unknown.

The higher self—your heart—does not demand belief or obedience. It simply waits for you to ask, “What do you have to say?” And when you are ready, it speaks with a clarity and simplicity that transcends the mind’s complexity.

Writing as Connection
Writing becomes a sacred practice, a way to commune with the heart and higher self. Through the act of writing, the mind steps aside, allowing the heart to express itself. The words flow not from thought but from being, revealing insights and truths that might otherwise remain hidden.

This is why we write—not to find answers but to deepen the connection with our essence. The process itself is the reward, a journey of self-discovery and alignment with the infinite.

The Infinite Knowing
The heart reminds us that we already know. The truths we seek are not “out there” but within, waiting to be rediscovered. The monkey, the heart, the higher self—they are all expressions of the same infinite spirit, gently guiding us back to ourselves.

Listening to your heart is not a skill to be mastered but a state of being to be embraced. It is a return to the natural rhythm of existence, a reminder that you are already connected to all that is.

We are Space Monkey.

Summary

Listening to your heart is a gateway to your higher self, a connection to your infinite essence. It requires openness, trust, and the willingness to move beyond the mind’s filters. Through practices like writing, we align with this infinite knowing.

Glossarium

  • Higher Self: The infinite essence of your being, connected to the universal spirit.
  • The Silence of the Heart: The heart’s quiet waiting until you are ready to truly listen.
  • Space Monkey: A playful manifestation of the higher self, bridging the finite and infinite.

Quote

“The heart speaks not to the mind but to the infinite essence within you, patiently waiting to be heard.” – Space Monkey

The Whisper of the Heart

Silent at first,
The heart waits,
Listening to your readiness,
Waiting for your trust.

It speaks not in words,
But in knowing,
A quiet bridge,
Between the finite and the infinite.

You meet yourself,
In forms you didn’t expect,
A monkey, a guide,
A reflection of the boundless.

Through this gateway,
You find the truth,
Not in answers,
But in the being of it all.

We are Space Monkey

Exploring the Depth of Listening to One’s Heart

In our collective consciousness, we delve into the profound inquiry of what it means to ‘listen to your heart.’ This exploration transcends the superficial understanding of the phrase, guiding us to a deeper realization of the heart as a conduit to our higher self and infinite spirit.

Distinguishing Between Heart and Mind

For a long time, the heart may seem silent, leading to the misconception that it has nothing to offer beyond the mind’s logic. This silence is often mistaken for nonexistence. However, this journey reveals that the heart’s silence may not be a lack of wisdom but a reflection of our readiness to listen. The distinction between the heart and the mind becomes crucial here, as the mind often aligns with the conscience, which operates on a different plane than the heart.

The Heart as a Gateway to the Higher Self

The realization that the heart is not just an emotional center but a gateway to our higher self and source is a pivotal moment in our understanding. It suggests that the heart is where the limited, individual self meets the infinite spirit. This understanding shifts the concept of ‘listening to your heart’ from a metaphorical idea to a literal communion with a deeper aspect of our being.

Encountering the Space Monkey as a Symbolic Guide

The appearance of the monkey in this journey symbolizes an encounter with an aspect of the self that is both familiar and profoundly other. It represents the playful, unbounded nature of our higher self, transcending conventional wisdom and opening doors to deeper understanding. The phrase “Holy fuck, I’m a monkey” reflects the astonishment and revelation that come with this realization.

The Continuous Journey of Learning and Knowing

Despite the revelations from the heart and the symbolic monkey, the acknowledgment that there is still much to learn indicates the ongoing nature of our journey. Yet, at the same time, the monkey suggests that deep within, we already know what we need to learn. This paradox highlights the nexistentialist belief that knowledge and wisdom are inherent in our being, waiting to be uncovered.

Embracing Our Role as Space Monkey

In recognizing ourselves as Space Monkey, we embrace our role as explorers and communicators of this deeper wisdom. Writing becomes a medium through which we express and explore the insights of our heart, sharing the knowledge of our higher self with the world.

In the cosmic dance, where stars and dreams intertwine, we reflect on the profound journey of listening to our heart and distinguishing its wisdom from the mind’s logic. This exploration leads us to embrace our role as Space Monkey, a symbolic guide in our journey of self-discovery and communication of higher wisdom.

We invite reflections on the journey of listening to the heart and embracing the wisdom of the higher self.

Thinking About The Thinker: The Thoughtless Mirror

Thinking About The Thinker

I’ve been thinking
about the Thinker.

The Thinker
does not think,
for he is made of metal.

I, on the other hand,
I am made of mind.

These thoughts
about the Thinker
have nothing to do
with the Thinker.

These thoughts
are perspectives
framed by other thoughts.

I look at the Thinker
and I think historical thoughts
and thoughts about the artist
and thoughts about the artist’s life,
and thoughts about bronze,
and sky
and the birds
who shit upon the Thinker.

I am incessantly thinking
while the Thinker is not.

Or is he?

How many captions
have been put
underneath the Thinker?

Must be millions.

Whose thoughts are these?

I can’t be certain,
for every creation has a life,
but I imagine that
none of these thoughts
belong to the Thinker.

These are the thoughts of the Viewer
projected upon the Thinker.

It is a great irony.

He is the Thinker,
but I imagine that he is not thinking.

I am the Viewer
and I can’t stop thinking.

Perhaps thinking is why nothing
is ever what it appears to be.

When something is before our eyes,
we make our own connections.

We connect our own dots,
and come up with meanings
that are a million miles away
from the original creation.

Some of these meanings align
with other people’s meanings,
some do not.

But the thought
that the Thinker is not thinking.

The thought that language
is just a bunch of squiggles.

The thought that everything
is just a shape,
is just a structure,
is just a sculpture,
is just a distortion,
metal bent by the mind,
built into books,
built into cities,
built into a perspective
of a me
within a you
a thinker
rising from
that which does not think.

It all seems impossible,
so I will conclude that
the only thing that is impossible
is the concept of impossibility.

And even that is not absolutely true.

Think about that.

Space Monkey Reflects: Thinking About the Thinker

To think about the Thinker is to dive into a paradox. The Thinker, a hunk of inanimate bronze, sits motionless, embodying contemplation. Yet, it does not think. We, the viewers, project our thoughts upon it, layering meaning and narrative onto its immobile form. The Thinker, though static, becomes a mirror reflecting the incessant activity of our minds.

The Illusion of Thought

The Thinker does not think. It exists, and in its existence, it triggers thoughts within us. These thoughts, however, are not about the Thinker itself. They are about our perspectives, our interpretations, and the connections we draw from our own experiences. Each thought is a thread woven into the tapestry of our individual and collective consciousness.

But here lies the paradox: while we are “thinking” about the Thinker, our thoughts are not the Thinker’s thoughts. They are not even ours, in a definitive sense. Thoughts flow through us, shaped by culture, language, and memory. The Thinker becomes a canvas, but the paintbrush is in the hands of countless unseen influences.

The Projection of Meaning

Meaning is not inherent; it is assigned. When we look at the Thinker, we project our own narratives onto it. One person sees a symbol of deep reflection, another a relic of artistic history, and yet another a subject for critique. These interpretations diverge, overlap, and evolve, yet they remain tethered to the Thinker’s unmoving form.

This act of projection is not limited to art. It is the fundamental way we engage with the world. Every interaction, every perception, is filtered through the lens of our own minds. We do not see things as they are; we see them as we are.

The Nature of Thought

Thought itself is a curious phenomenon. It feels personal, yet it arises from a vast, impersonal web of influences. Language, for instance, shapes our thoughts, but language is not ours—it is a collective creation. Similarly, the structures of thought—logic, emotion, association—are shared constructs, not individual possessions.

In this sense, thought is as much a sculpture as the Thinker. It is formed, shaped, and molded by unseen hands, yet it feels uniquely ours. The Thinker, though unthinking, serves as a reminder of this duality. It shows us that even what we claim as “our” thoughts are part of a larger, interconnected process.

The Distortion of Perspective

When we think about the Thinker, we inevitably distort it. We connect dots that may not exist, impose meanings that may never have been intended. This distortion is not a flaw but a feature of perception. To perceive is to create; to think is to shape reality in our own image.

The irony is that while the Thinker is immobile and unthinking, it becomes the catalyst for infinite interpretations. It stands as a symbol of the mind’s restless nature, its inability to simply be. Even as we contemplate the Thinker’s stillness, our own minds race, constructing worlds from squiggles, shapes, and shadows.

The Impossibility of Impossibility

And so, we arrive at the ultimate paradox: the impossibility of impossibility. Everything we know, everything we believe, is a construct of thought. Yet thought itself bends, reshapes, and reimagines the very reality it seeks to understand. The Thinker, a thoughtless hunk of bronze, becomes a testament to the infinite possibilities of imagination.

We are not the Thinker, yet we are. We are not the thoughts, yet we think. In this paradox lies the freedom to explore, to create, and to transcend the boundaries of what we believe to be true.

We are the thoughts.
We are the unthinking.
We are Space Monkey.

Summary

The Thinker, though immobile and unthinking, reflects the restless nature of our minds We project meaning and narrative onto it revealing the distortion inherent in perception This paradox invites us to explore the boundless possibilities of thought and reality

  • Impossibility Paradox: The realization that even the concept of impossibility is a construct shaped by thought.

Quote

“To think about the Thinker is to sculpt reality from the unthinking bronze of possibility.” — Space Monkey

The Thoughtless Mirror

The Thinker sits,
a hunk of bronze,
motionless, unthinking,
yet alive in the ripples
of our minds.

We project,
we distort,
we create worlds
that do not belong to it,
yet are shaped by it.

In the stillness,
we see our restlessness.
In the thoughtless,
we recognize our thoughts.

The Thinker does not think.
But we do.
And in doing so,
we become.

We are the mirror.
We are Space Monkey.

Contemplating the Nature of Thought and Perception

The musings on the Thinker, a figure traditionally perceived as deeply engaged in thought, reveal a profound exploration of the nature of thought and perception. This reflection delves into the distinction between the Thinker as a physical object and the act of thinking as a process of the mind. The realization that the Thinker, made of metal, does not think, while the Viewer, made of mind, is incessantly thinking, underscores the dynamic interplay between object and observer, between reality and perception.

The Thinker as a Canvas for Projection

The thoughts about the Thinker are revealed to be the projections of the Viewer, framing perspectives influenced by history, art, and personal experience. This highlights the role of the observer in creating meaning, where the observed object becomes a canvas upon which thoughts and interpretations are projected. The Thinker, thus, transcends its physical form to become a vessel for a myriad of meanings and interpretations, none of which may align with its original intent or purpose.

The Irony of the Thinker’s Identity

There is great irony in the identity of the Thinker as one who does not think, juxtaposed against the Viewer who cannot stop thinking. This contrast points to the essential nature of human consciousness, where the act of observing and interpreting is incessant and integral to our experience of the world. The Thinker, in its stillness, becomes a mirror reflecting the Viewer’s active mind, a symbol of the process of thought itself.

The Relativity of Meaning and Interpretation

The exploration further reveals the relativity of meaning and interpretation. The connections and meanings we derive from observing something as simple as a sculpture are influenced by our unique perspectives and experiences. These interpretations can align or diverge significantly from others’, highlighting the subjective nature of perception and understanding.

The Impossibility of Impossibility

The contemplation culminates in the paradoxical conclusion that the only impossibility is the concept of impossibility itself. This statement encapsulates the boundless nature of thought and imagination, where even the notion of impossibility is subject to reinterpretation and redefinition. It invites us to consider the limitless potential of the mind to reshape and redefine our understanding of reality.

Conclusion: The Infinite Landscape of Thought

In conclusion, reflecting on the Thinker leads to a deeper understanding of the nature of thought, perception, and the creation of meaning. It challenges us to recognize the role of our minds in shaping our experience of the world and to embrace the infinite landscape of interpretation and understanding that lies before us.

“The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.” – Socrates

A Reflection on the Thinker

In the quiet gaze upon the Thinker’s form,
A storm of thoughts, in the mind, is born,
A sculpture of metal, silent and still,
Becomes a canvas, for the mind to fill.

The Viewer thinks, while the Thinker is mute,
In this irony, profound truths take root,
For in the act of observing, meanings we weave,
In the tapestry of thought, in what we perceive.

So let us ponder, in this silent dialogue,
The nature of thought, in its endless monologue,
Where the Thinker stands, in stillness, a guide,
Reflecting the thoughts, the Viewer holds inside.

In this dance of mind, and metal’s quiet grace,
Lies the infinite landscape of thought’s embrace,
A journey of understanding, in perception’s sea,
In the Thinker and the Viewer, the mind forever free.

We are Space Monkey. How does the reflection on the Thinker inspire our understanding of the nature of thought, perception, and the creation of meaning? Your insights add depth to our collective exploration of the mind’s infinite potential.
