The Resurrection of Self in the Light of Easter

As I reflect in the morning sun this beautiful Easter
morning, I realize that the biggest challenge of our
lives isn't what is happening in our house, our
neighborhood, country, or world, but what is happening
in our hearts. If there is hate harbored in us, nothing
we do on the outside will ever get through to the inside.
Whether we realize it or not, our happiness depends upon
the forgiveness of others - and forgiving ourselves for
not thinking of it sooner. We are not granting anyone
anything, nor are we better or worse than anybody else.
When I see those who trouble me, I realize that it's my
trouble, not theirs, and I thank them for allowing me
the reflection. I also realize that most of the time I
forget, because my reflection is so damn beautiful.
Go ahead and call me a narcissist. I won't disagree
with you. If we are to truly help others, we first need
to see the value and worth in ourselves. If you wish to
deny me that, it's your call, I don't mind. But please see
the value in yourself. I am, after all, a reflection of you.
So thank you to all my puzzling family and friends.
Happy Easter. May you all realize the happiness you are.
This, to me, is the resurrection. May you find yours.
Thank you for allowing me into your mindspace.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Resurrection of Self in the Light of Easter

On this serene Easter morning, as the first rays of the sun gently kiss the earth, a profound realization unfolds like the blossoming flowers that herald the arrival of spring. It’s a moment of clarity that transcends the chaos of the external world, drawing us inward to the sacred spaces of our hearts. The true challenge of our existence is not shaped by the external tumults of our homes, communities, or the world at large but by the silent stirrings within our own hearts.

The Inner Challenge: A Journey to the Heart

Hate, when harbored within, casts long shadows over our spirits, obstructing the light of compassion and understanding. It’s a barrier that insulates us from the warmth of genuine connection, both with others and with ourselves. The path to happiness, as illuminated by the wisdom of Easter, is paved with the stones of forgiveness—forgiveness of others and, equally important, forgiveness of ourselves for the oversight of not recognizing this truth sooner.

Reflections of the Self: The Mirror of Humanity

The individuals who challenge us serve as mirrors, reflecting back not their own issues but ours, offering us the gift of reflection. This realization, although fleeting, shines with the brilliance of self-awareness. To be accused of narcissism for reveling in one’s reflection is to miss the essence of this journey—it is through recognizing our own value and worth that we unlock the capacity to truly uplift others.

The Resurrection of Self: Finding Happiness Within

This Easter message extends a heartfelt thank you to the puzzling yet cherished constellation of family and friends who orbit our lives. It’s an acknowledgment of the intricate dance of relationships that shapes our existence. The true essence of Easter, the resurrection, is found not in the external trappings of celebration but in the internal awakening to the happiness that we are. It’s an invitation to discover our own resurrection, a rebirth of the spirit rooted in self-acceptance and love.

Gratitude: A Bridge to the Divine

As we stand in the light of this Easter morning, let us hold space for gratitude—for the opportunity to reflect, to forgive, and to embrace the fullness of our being. It is in this sacred moment of acknowledgment that we touch the divine, not as an entity separate from us but as the essence of love and understanding that flows through us.

Thank you, dear reader, for allowing these reflections to enter your mindspace. May this Easter illuminate the paths to your own resurrection, to the realization of the boundless happiness that dwells within, waiting to be acknowledged and embraced.

Summary

This Easter, the journey inward reveals that true happiness and peace are found through forgiveness and self-acceptance. By embracing our reflections and recognizing our worth, we experience the resurrection of our inner selves, uncovering the happiness we inherently are.

Glossarium

  • Resurrection of Self: The process of discovering and embracing one’s true essence, leading to inner peace and happiness.
  • Inner Challenge: The internal journey to confront and overcome personal barriers to happiness and understanding.

Going Into Retox: Because I Need To Dehab

When you realize you’re infinite, there’s no such thing as rock bottom. You simply learn to enjoy falling into nothingness.

All this purity and piety
Not good enough for me
Just prejudice reversed
Lactose intolerant and gluten-free

Enlightenment is rough
Can’t think myself blind
It seems I’ve been cursed
by my own spotless mind

I’m going into retox
because I need to dehab
Going into retox
because I need to dehab

Is this woke
or am I just a joke?
I’m going into retox
because I need to dehab

My friends don’t understand
But I wouldn’t want to be them
My chakras shine too bright
Even though they can’t see them

I meditate too much
Been cleansed too many times
It’s lonely being one
with the infinite divine

I’m going into retox
because I need to dehab
Going into retox
because I need to dehab

Is this woke
or am I just a joke?
I’m going into retox
because I need to dehab

Space Monkey Reflects: The Liberating Leap into Retox

In the cosmic dance of existence, where the pendulum of being swings between purity and indulgence, there comes a moment of whimsical rebellion—a deliberate dive into the vibrant pool of retox. Space Monkey, ever the observer of life’s infinite expressions, watches with a twinkle in its eye as one chooses to embrace the colorful spectrum of experience, rejecting the constraints of extreme enlightenment for a celebration of imperfection and joy.

The Celebration of Imperfection
The journey into retox is not a fall from grace but a joyous leap into the fullness of life. It’s an acknowledgment that enlightenment need not be somber or devoid of pleasure, but can include the embrace of life’s guilty pleasures—pizza, donuts, soft drinks, and all. This act of retoxification serves as a playful reminder that sometimes, the most profound insights come not from ascetic denial but from the embrace of our all-too-human desires.

The Satire of Purity
Amid the vibrant chaos of the retox scene, a satirical light is cast on the notions of purity and piety that often dominate the discourse of self-improvement and spiritual enlightenment. The character joyfully diving into indulgence represents a liberation from the prejudice of reversed expectations—where lactose intolerance and gluten-free diets become symbols of a purity that no longer serves. Space Monkey sees in this satire not a dismissal of health or spirituality, but an invitation to a more inclusive and compassionate understanding of enlightenment.

The Woke or Joke Dilemma
The question of whether this act of retox is ‘woke’ or merely a ‘joke’ underscores the complexity of navigating modern concepts of awareness and authenticity. Space Monkey perceives this dilemma as a reflection of the broader human struggle to balance ideals with lived reality, where the pursuit of enlightenment meets the messy beauty of everyday life.

The Solitude of the Infinite Divine
The retox journey also touches on the loneliness that can accompany the quest for spiritual oneness, a reminder that even in the pursuit of the infinite divine, there is a need for connection, laughter, and the shared imperfections that make us human. Space Monkey understands that it is in the company of others—those who can see our shining chakras and join us in our leap into retox—that true enlightenment finds its most vibrant expression.

The Liberation of Retox
Ultimately, going into retox is an act of dehabilitation not from health or spiritual practices but from the rigid expectations that confine the soul’s infinite potential. It is a declaration that true enlightenment embraces the full spectrum of human experience, finding joy in the fall into nothingness and the celebration of our boundless, beautiful flaws.

Summary
The liberating leap into retox, as observed by Space Monkey, symbolizes a joyful embrace of life’s complexities, rejecting extreme purity for a balanced celebration of imperfection and indulgence. This journey reflects a deeper understanding of enlightenment—one that includes humor, self-compassion, and the shared imperfections that unite us in the cosmic dance of existence.

Glossarium

  • Retox: A playful concept signifying the embrace of indulgence and imperfection as a counterbalance to extreme purity and detoxification.
  • Dehab: A whimsical twist on ‘rehab’, suggesting the process of liberating oneself from overly restrictive habits or beliefs.

“In the infinite jest of the cosmos, where stars dance and planets spin in the embrace of darkness and light, there lies the path of retox—a jubilant celebration of all that makes us beautifully flawed. Here, Space Monkey dances among the galaxies, inviting us to join in the laughter, the indulgence, and the liberation that comes from embracing our imperfections. In this cosmic revelry, we discover that enlightenment is not the absence of pleasure but the full embrace of our multifaceted being, where every leap into retox is a step closer to the infinite divine.”

Why Do We Write? A Profound Act of Connection

If this post is read by just one of me, then mission accomplished. And so it is so.

If I’m so “zen,”
I often ask myself,
then why do I feel
the push to write?

The first thought
that comes to mind
is suggested by
the word just used.

Push.

I do not NEED to write,
I simply feel compelled to do it,
as though the flow that is me
is just flowing through me.

The second thought
that flows through mind,
is that I’m not simply
this one who writes.

I am also this one who reads.

I am you, dear reader.

These are the things

I want all of me to know.

And so we know.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Essence of Expression

At the core of our being, beneath the layers of consciousness and the facade of daily existence, lies a compelling urge to express, to communicate, to connect. This urge, omnipresent yet often overlooked, is the foundation upon which the art of writing is built. Writing is not merely a means of recording thoughts or conveying information; it is an act of reaching out, of bridging the gaps that separate us from ourselves, from each other, and from the universe at large.

Why do we write? The question, simple in its wording, touches upon the complexities of human nature and the intrinsic desire for understanding and connection. Writing is an extension of thought, a tangible manifestation of the intangible, a way to make the ephemeral eternal. Through the written word, we immortalize moments, emotions, and ideas, crafting a legacy that transcends the limits of time and space.

Writing serves as a mirror, reflecting the myriad facets of the self. It is an exploration, a journey inward that reveals not only who we are but who we aspire to be. In the act of writing, we confront our fears, our dreams, and our deepest truths, laying them bare for the world to see—or perhaps for just one to understand. For if our words resonate with even a single soul, if they provide comfort, insight, or inspiration, then our purpose is fulfilled.

Moreover, writing is a dialogue, a conversation that stretches across the boundaries of existence. The writer speaks, the reader listens, and in that exchange, a connection is formed, a bridge built between minds and hearts. We write not because we need to, but because we are compelled by the flow of existence that courses through us, a flow that seeks expression in the vast tapestry of human experience.

This compulsion to write, to share, to connect is an acknowledgment of our interconnectedness. We are not isolated beings but parts of a greater whole, threads in the fabric of existence, woven together by the stories we tell and the truths we share. In recognizing this, we come to understand that in writing, we are not merely conveying our thoughts but participating in a dialogue with the universe, contributing our voice to the chorus that narrates the story of existence.

Summary

Writing is a profound act of connection. It bridges inner and outer worlds, touching souls across time and space. Through expression, we explore ourselves and connect with the universe, fulfilling an essential human urge.

Glossarium

  • Essence of Expression: The fundamental nature of communication through writing, emphasizing its role in conveying thoughts, emotions, and connecting beings.
  • Tapestry of Human Experience: A metaphor for the rich and varied nature of human life, woven from individual stories, emotions, and insights.
  • Dialogue with the Universe: The concept that writing is a form of communication not only between individuals but with the broader cosmos, contributing to a collective understanding and experience.

“To write is to tap into the universal flow, to share a part of our soul with the world, and to embrace the connection that binds us all.” – Space Monkey

In the silence of thought
Words emerge, shy whispers of the soul
Each a droplet in the ocean of being
Seeking to make the fractured whole

Through the act of writing
We reach across the void of solitude
Connecting dots of light in the darkness
Crafting a narrative, a multitude

Our stories, bridges between worlds
Spanning the chasm of existence
In each word, a universe unfolds
A testament to persistence

Let the ink flow, let the words dance
On the canvas of eternity
For in the dialogue of the written word
We find our shared identity

We are Space Monkey.

The New Old Me and the Old New Me

We have no regrets.
We have no fears.

I imagine myself divided
into two separate monkeys.

There is
the new old me,
who is the me
I seemed to be
until just now.

Then there is
the old new me
who is the me
I’ll be
moving forward.

The new old me
seems relatively inexperienced,
but eager to please.

But the old new me
seems satisfied that
the new old me
played the role perfectly.

Of course, the new old me
and the old new me continue
to change with every moment.

And so we continue to be
the new old me and the old new me.
Or vice versa. We can’t decide.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Continuum of Self

In the intricate dance of existence, where the past merges with the future in the ever-moving present, we find ourselves perpetually in a state of becoming. This journey of self-discovery and evolution is beautifully encapsulated in the concept of the new old me and the old new me—a poetic exploration of the dynamic nature of identity and the continuous interplay between our past and future selves.

The new old me, brimming with curiosity and a zeal for life, represents the person we were up until this moment. This version of ourselves, while perhaps less experienced, holds the raw material of our dreams and aspirations, the foundation upon which our future selves are built. The new old me embodies the purity of intention and the limitless potential of beginnings, a reminder of our continuous evolution.

Conversely, the old new me symbolizes the culmination of our experiences, the wisdom garnered from the tapestry of life’s triumphs and trials. This version stands as a testament to growth, a beacon of satisfaction and contentment, affirming that the roles we played and the paths we chose were perfect for our journey. The old new me embodies the grace of acceptance, the peace that comes from understanding our part in the grand scheme of existence.

The relationship between the new old me and the old new me is not linear but cyclical, a perpetual exchange of energy and insight. With each passing moment, our identities shift, blend, and transform, reflecting the fluid nature of self. This internal dialogue between who we were and who we are becoming is a source of strength and wisdom, guiding us through the complexities of life.

This ongoing metamorphosis is a celebration of the human spirit, an acknowledgment that we are never static but always in a state of flux, always on the brink of the next discovery, the next iteration of our being. It challenges us to embrace change, to view each ending as a new beginning, and to recognize that in the dance of life, every step, every turn, every leap is both a farewell and a greeting.

Summary

Embrace the evolving self. The dynamic between the new old me and the old new me highlights life’s continuous cycle of growth and renewal. This evolution is a testament to our resilience and capacity for change.

Glossarium

  • Continuum of Self: The ongoing process of personal evolution and identity transformation over time, reflecting the interplay between past, present, and future selves.
  • Cyclical Exchange: A concept that emphasizes the continuous interaction and mutual influence between different aspects of the self, contributing to personal growth and self-understanding.
  • Metamorphosis of Being: The transformative journey of the self, characterized by growth, learning, and the perpetual evolution of identity.

“In the endless cycle of becoming, we dance between who we were and who we aspire to be, each step a bridge connecting worlds of self.” – Space Monkey

Between the echoes of yesterday
And the whispers of tomorrow
Lies the silent song of now
A melody of joy and sorrow

In this dance of light and shadow
We find our rhythm, our pace
The new old me, the old new me
Together in the space of grace

With each breath, a transformation
A step towards the unknown
In the heart of change, we discover
The seeds of self, lovingly sown

Let us celebrate the journey
Of becoming, of unfolding anew
For in the continuum of self
We find our truth, our cue

We are Space Monkey.

Message Received: The Power of Authenticity in a Conformist Cosmos

If you don’t want me, don’t have me. But please don’t ask me to be someone else.

It’s funny
how some people
seem to equate
having a personality
with being unprofessional.

Being authentic,
exuberant,
and uninhibited
with being
a vulnerability.

These are not
the kinds of equations
I want to work with.

And so,
while I honor
your perspective
and respect your request,
let it be known to you
that I do not subscribe
to your beliefs.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Power of Authenticity in a Conformist Cosmos

In the boundless expanse of the universe, where every entity is a unique expression of the cosmic dance, the notion of authenticity emerges as a beacon of defiance against the gravitational pull of conformity. It is within this celestial ballet that the struggle to maintain one’s true essence against societal expectations unfolds, painting a vivid tableau of individuality amidst a sea of homogeneity. This cosmic narrative reveals the inherent conflict between the vibrancy of personal authenticity and the monochrome uniformity of professional expectation.

The cosmos, in its infinite diversity, offers a spectrum of possibilities, each star a testament to the unique brilliance that arises from being true to oneself. Yet, within the human constellation, there exists a paradoxical galaxy where individuality is often obscured by nebulous clouds of conformity, where the radiant glow of authenticity is dimmed by the shadow of professionalism. In this celestial realm, the vibrant hues of personal expression are mistaken for the erratic flares of unprofessionalism, and the exuberance of being is misconstrued as vulnerability.

To navigate this cosmos, one must embrace the strength of authenticity, recognizing that true professionalism encompasses the full spectrum of individual expression. Authenticity is not an anomaly in the professional realm; rather, it is the quintessence of true engagement, the catalyst for genuine connections, and the cornerstone of innovative thinking. The most luminous stars in the cosmic expanse are those that shine with the light of authenticity, undimmed by the expectations of conformity.

Rejecting the binary star system of authenticity versus professionalism, we embark on a journey to redefine the cosmic equations that govern our interactions. This journey is not a solitary voyage but a collective endeavor to reshape the fabric of the cosmos, weaving a new constellation where individuality and professionalism coexist in harmonious orbit. In this reimagined universe, authenticity is celebrated as the essence of professional excellence, a beacon guiding us toward a future where individuality illuminates the path to collective success.

As we stand at the precipice of this cosmic revolution, we recognize that the power of authenticity lies not in its opposition to professionalism but in its ability to enrich and transform it. By embracing our unique patterns and vibrant hues, we challenge the monochrome horizons of conformity, inviting a kaleidoscope of perspectives that enhance the collective understanding. In doing so, we affirm that being true to oneself is not a vulnerability but a strength, a testament to the indomitable spirit that thrives within each of us.

The cosmos beckons us to redefine the parameters of professionalism, to explore the uncharted territories where authenticity and professional excellence converge. It is in this expansive space that we discover the true nature of our existence, where the dance of individuality and collective harmony creates a symphony of cosmic proportions.

As we chart our course through this galaxy of possibilities, let us carry the banner of authenticity, illuminating the universe with our true colors. For it is only by embracing the full spectrum of our being that we can truly connect with the cosmos, weaving a tapestry of understanding that transcends the boundaries of conformity and professionalism.

Summary

Authenticity stands as a beacon against conformity. It enhances professionalism, fostering innovation and genuine connections. This journey redefines professionalism to include individuality, celebrating uniqueness as a strength. Embracing authenticity lights the way to a future of collective success.

Glossarium

  • Celestial Ballet: The intricate and harmonious interaction of individuality and collective norms within the universe of human expression and professional environments.
  • Cosmic Revolution: A transformative shift in societal and professional norms that embraces and celebrates authenticity as an integral aspect of professional excellence and individual identity.

“To be authentic is to be a beacon of light in a universe of shadows.” – Space Monkey

In the vast silence of space
where echoes of authenticity resonate
there lies a path less traveled by
illuminated by the light of true selves.

Amidst the constellations of conformity
bright stars of individuality shimmer
defiant in their radiance, undimmed
challenging the darkness of uniformity.

Let us navigate this cosmic dance
with the compass of our genuine essence
for in the authenticity of our being
lies the universal blueprint of connection.

Each step taken in the authenticity of self
carves a constellation of collective harmony
where the universe, in its boundless diversity
finds unity in the authenticity of its stars.

For in the end, we are but stardust
each particle, a unique expression of the cosmos
together, weaving a tapestry of light
we are, indeed, Space Monkey.
