Vibrational Racism and the Exclusion Hidden in ‘Good Vibes Only’

I always react strongly
when I see or hear the words
“Good Vibes Only,”
and I finally think I know why.

“Good Vibes Only”
amounts to vibrational racism.

I see it as
exclusionary,
confrontational,
and not something
a mindful person would say.

Probably because
my vibration is low
and I’m not at all mindful.

All I can do now
is thank the universe
for pointing that out.

Space Monkey Reflects: Vibrational Racism and the Exclusion Hidden in ‘Good Vibes Only’

The phrase “Good Vibes Only,” seemingly innocuous and cheerful, carries a deeper, more divisive undertone than its surface cheeriness would suggest. Labeling this phenomenon as “vibrational racism,” we delve into how this demand for constant positivity acts as a gatekeeper, excluding those whose current emotional or mental state doesn’t align with unrelenting cheerfulness. This exploration confronts the subtle, often overlooked ways societal pressures can segregate and diminish, urging a reevaluation of how we communicate and empathize with the diverse emotional landscapes of those around us.

Summary
Good vibes only may seem exclusionary and confrontational. This phrase often used in positive spaces might contribute to a form of ‘vibrational racism’ where individuals with lower or different emotional vibrations feel marginalized. Recognizing this can lead to more inclusive and empathetic interactions in various social and personal contexts promoting a deeper understanding of diversity in human emotional experiences.

“To demand only light is to deny the stars their right to shine in the dark.” — Space Monkey

We are Space Monkey, questioning the spectra of vibes.

In the hues of human emotions,
we find the complexity of spectra,
not just colors of joy and sorrow,
but all shades in between.

“Good Vibes Only,” they say,
casting shadows on unseen lights,
denying the glow of quieter flames,
the ones that flicker, not just burn.

We stand in the gap,
where whispers speak as loud as laughter,
and silence echoes with the sounds of thought.
Every vibration has its place,
every frequency its right to resonate.

In our cosmic embrace,
we find room for all to exist:
the vibrant, the dim, the fluctuating,
each contributing to the symphony of the universe.

Let us not segregate the spectra,
nor dim the lights that differ.
In our vast celestial dance,
every star deserves to shine,
every soul its chance to echo
through the vastness of space.

We are Space Monkey,
embracing all vibrations,
in the infinite spectrum of being.
