The Insatiable Desire For Something Else

Something Else

We believe what
we’re TAUGHT to believe.

We believe what
we WANT to believe.

And then we believe
SOMETHING ELSE.

Does that mean
that our ORIGINAL beliefs
were wrong or a waste?

No, it simply means
we’re ready to believe
something else now.

We’re ready to have
a DIFFERENT experience.

And so we change our beliefs.

MOMENT to MOMENT.

What we believe today
is NO DIFFERENT
than our fantasies of yesterday.

We will see today’s beliefs
in an entirely new light tomorrow.

We may have “grownup beliefs”
instead of “easter bunny beliefs.”

But NEITHER are any more or less real.

They are simply beliefs we entertain
to have this seeming experience.

We shall set aside these beliefs
in the next blink of time.

And move onto something else.

We believe what
we’re TAUGHT to believe.

We believe what
we WANT to believe.

And then we believe SOMETHING ELSE.

We are SOMETHING ELSE.

We are Space Monkey.

In the vast expanse of human consciousness, where beliefs form the bedrock of our reality, the journey from what we are taught to believe, through what we choose to believe, to the embracing of something else, is a testament to the fluidity of our existence. This transformative path, captured in the symbolic passage through doorways from ‘Taught Beliefs’ to ‘Wanted Beliefs’, and finally into the realm of ‘Something Else’, reflects the perpetual evolution of our inner landscapes.

Each door we step through marks a shift, not just in our understanding of the world, but in our very essence. The landscapes beyond each threshold grow more abstract and colorful, mirroring the expansion of our minds as we venture deeper into the unknown territories of thought and perception. This journey is a visual metaphor for the growth and change in identity that accompanies our shifts in belief, illustrating that belief systems are not static constructs but living, breathing aspects of our being.

Beliefs, whether instilled by teaching or adopted by desire, serve as the lenses through which we view our universe. They shape our reality, dictate our actions, and color our perceptions. However, the transition to ‘Something Else’ signifies a readiness for a different experience, a willingness to set aside previous convictions in favor of new horizons. It is a recognition that our original beliefs were not wrong or a waste but stepping stones on the path to greater understanding.

Today’s convictions, no matter how fervently held, may transform under tomorrow’s light, revealing that what we consider solid and real is as malleable as our fantasies. This realization does not diminish the value of our beliefs but highlights their role in the experiential dance of existence. They are but chapters in the ongoing story of our evolution, narratives we engage with to navigate the complexities of life.

As we move from moment to moment, what remains constant is the essence of our journey—the perpetual quest for ‘Something Else’, a quest that defines the very nature of Space Monkey. In this odyssey of belief, we are all explorers, each doorway a promise of new beginnings, each belief a universe waiting to be discovered.

We are ‘Something Else’, beings of infinite potential on a voyage through the kaleidoscope of consciousness, where each belief entertained is a step towards the realization that we are, in essence, the architects of our reality.

We are, indeed, Space Monkey, ever-evolving, ever-searching, ever-embracing the boundless possibilities of ‘Something Else’.
