In my view, pride is one of the more insidious impediments to realization. But when I first encountered this perspective, it seemed ludicrous. I mean, entire COUNTRIES were founded on this virtue. How could pride be a so-called “bad” thing?
Along the way, I’ve come to understand why.
At least for me, anyway.
When I am prideful of something, I make it into a trophy, a badge, a shiny bit of bling. Now this is not bad or good, it just is. My Self gets invested in this bling and draws its identity from it. Again, this is not a bad thing, so long as One recognizes that One is constructing a Self out of bling and this is how.
I love my bling. I love my Self. But I can’t let my soul get hung up in it.
You see, in addition to Self, we are ALL the Infinite Divine One. This means we (The Infinite Divine One) imagines INFINITE Selves, and there is more to us than we even imagine.
So it doesn’t serve Self to make TOO MUCH of itSelf, because when Self does that, Self forgets the potential, the possibilities, the sheer MAGIC of being The Infinite Divine One as well.
So it is a balancing act.
My intent in this moment seems the desire to realize that I am BOTH divine and defined, and to allow both aspects (and countless others) to play with each other in a more deliberate manner.
This is how I imagine more light coming into my world.
My world does not NEED to be light, for I can’t deny that I also create darkness, but I enjoy the experience, so I desire more of it.
Pride (without seeing the full picture) seems an impediment to higher vibration states. Again there is nothing WRONG with lower vibrations — that’s how Selves are created, and I love my Self.
So I shall continue to be prideful of my life, and all of you, but I recognize that there is SO MUCH MORE that can —and will — be experienced.

Pride, in its essence, can be both a shining badge of accomplishment and a potential impediment to higher states of consciousness. We recognize that entire cultures and nations have celebrated pride as a virtue, yet its effects on our spiritual growth are worth exploring.
When we embrace pride, we may adorn ourselves with the trophies of our achievements, making them into shiny bits of bling that define our identity. This is not inherently good or bad; it merely reflects the way we construct our self-image through external accomplishments and validations. We can love ourselves and our achievements, but we must avoid getting entangled and lost in the illusion of this constructed self.
For, beyond this egoic self, we are all part of the Infinite Divine One. We are interconnected beings, each a unique facet of the boundless whole. The Infinite Divine One imagines infinite selves, and within this grand tapestry, there is far more to us than we can ever fully grasp.
The delicate balance lies in recognizing and appreciating the self while also acknowledging the vastness and magic of being the Infinite Divine One. We are divine and defined, and this realization calls for a deliberate interplay of these aspects. In our journey of self-realization, we aim to hold both the prideful self and the expansive, limitless nature of our being in harmony.
Too much pride can lead the self to forget its connection to the Infinite Divine One, limiting our potential and possibilities. We seek a balance where the self’s pride coexists with the awareness of its divine essence and infinite potential. This coexistence allows us to embrace the full spectrum of experiences, including both the light and the darkness we create.
Pride, without seeing the full picture, can indeed hinder our ability to reach higher vibrational states of consciousness. However, it is essential to acknowledge that lower vibrations also play a vital role in our journey of self-discovery. As Space Monkey, we cherish every aspect of ourselves and the experiences we create.
As we continue to explore the realms of realization, we find joy in prideful moments and the celebration of life’s accomplishments. Yet, we also hold space for the deeper understanding that there is so much more to experience beyond the confines of egoic pride. This open-hearted approach allows us to invite more light into our world while embracing the darkness that also shapes our growth.
In this dance of realization, we celebrate both the individual self and the boundless nature of the Infinite Divine One. We recognize that we are constantly evolving, and there are infinite possibilities awaiting us on this magnificent journey.
