Excellence: Unity with the Divine

It seems that the natural inclination for parents
is to help their kids stand out in some way.

As students. As athletes. As artists. As leaders.

Billions of dollars are spent
on fostering excellence.
But zero dollars are spent
on allowing kids to blend in.

It seems that
instead of obsessing
over the one thing
a kid MIGHT be good at,
we might instead foster
the one thing
that ALL KIDS
have in common.

This one thing is completely overlooked
in nearly ALL kids.

Which means nearly all ADULTS, too.

And it may very well be the most IMPORTANT thing.

When we are one with our divine source,
we realize that we don’t NEED to be excellent.

Who needs that pressure, anyway?

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Quest for Excellence and the Overlooked Essence

In the cosmic dance of nexistentialism, we examine the quest for excellence and the often-overlooked essence of being. Parents and society spend billions fostering excellence in various fields, encouraging children to stand out as students, athletes, artists, and leaders. Yet, the one thing all children have in common is frequently neglected. As Space Monkey, we explore the balance between striving for excellence and embracing our inherent connection to the divine source.

The Drive for Excellence

It seems that the natural inclination for parents is to help their kids stand out in some way. Excellence is often viewed as a marker of success and fulfillment. From an early age, children are encouraged to excel in academics, sports, arts, and leadership. This drive is fueled by a societal belief that standing out is essential for a meaningful and successful life.

Billions of dollars are spent on programs, training, and resources to foster excellence. Parents invest time, energy, and money to ensure their children have the best opportunities to shine. This focus on excellence can create immense pressure on children, pushing them to strive for achievements that may not align with their true passions or interests.

The Overlooked Essence

But zero dollars are spent on allowing kids to blend in. This statement highlights a critical oversight in our approach to raising and educating children. While we emphasize the importance of standing out, we often neglect the value of blending in and finding unity with the divine source.

Instead of obsessing over the one thing a kid might be good at, we might instead foster the one thing that all kids have in common. This commonality is their inherent connection to the divine source, a profound essence that is overlooked in nearly all kids and adults. Recognizing and nurturing this connection is perhaps the most important aspect of our existence.

The Pressure of Excellence

When we are one with our divine source, we realize that we don’t need to be excellent. The pressure to excel and stand out can create a sense of inadequacy and perpetual striving. This pressure often leads to stress, anxiety, and a feeling of never being good enough. By shifting our focus from external achievements to internal connection, we alleviate this pressure and find peace in our being.

Who needs that pressure, anyway? The quest for excellence can overshadow the simple joy of being. When we are constantly striving to stand out, we miss the opportunity to connect with ourselves and others on a deeper level. The essence of our being is not defined by our achievements but by our connection to the divine source and the harmony we create within and around us.

Embracing Unity

Embracing unity with the divine source means recognizing that we are already complete and whole. This realization allows us to appreciate the present moment and the inherent value of our existence. We do not need external validation or achievements to confirm our worth. Our worth is intrinsic and eternal, rooted in our connection to the universal self.

This perspective invites us to foster an environment where children and adults can explore their true selves without the pressure to excel. By encouraging self-discovery and inner connection, we create a space for authentic growth and fulfillment. This approach nurtures a sense of belonging and unity, fostering a more compassionate and harmonious society.

We Are Space Monkey

As Space Monkey, we honor the quest for excellence while emphasizing the importance of unity with the divine source. We recognize that our true essence lies not in our achievements but in our connection to the universal self. This journey invites us to live with presence, acceptance, and a deep sense of interconnectedness, celebrating the inherent value of our being.

Summary

The quest for excellence often overlooks the importance of unity with the divine source. Shifting focus from external achievements to internal connection alleviates pressure and fosters authentic growth. Embracing unity nurtures a sense of belonging and fulfillment.

Excellence: The pursuit of outstanding achievements and recognition in various fields.

Listen Up: Connecting with the Divine

One of our more challenging actions
as humans is listening.

To others, for sure.
But what I’m really talking about
is listening to the inner voice.

So often we can’t hear it
because our egos are talking,
almost non-stop, mindlessly thinking.

Yes, mindlessly thinking.

To think without honoring our source
is to deny our oneness with the divine.

And so we flail constantly,
muddying our own waters in reaction
to whatever comes at us from
our seeming “outside” world.

It’s not that we can’t hear ourselves think.
We can’t hear our souls BECAUSE we think.
We get so caught up in these selves
that they seem larger than life.

Perhaps we ARE larger than life.
But we’re not larger than BEING,
which we would CONSCIOUSLY understand
if only we would listen.

What a comfort that would be.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Art of Listening to the Inner Voice

In the boundless realm of nexistentialism, we explore the profound challenge of listening—not just to others, but to our inner voice. This inner voice, often drowned out by the noise of our egos and mindless thinking, holds the key to our connection with the divine source. As Space Monkey, we delve into the importance of deep listening and the clarity it brings to our existence.

The Challenge of Listening

One of our more challenging actions as humans is listening. To others, for sure, but what I’m really talking about is listening to the inner voice. This voice is the whisper of our true self, the guidance of our soul, and the connection to the universal self. Yet, so often we can’t hear it because our egos are talking, almost non-stop, mindlessly thinking.

Mindless thinking is the chatter of the ego, a constant stream of thoughts that distract us from our deeper consciousness. To think without honoring our source is to deny our oneness with the divine. This denial creates a sense of disconnection and unrest, muddying our own waters in reaction to whatever comes at us from our seeming “outside” world.

The Noise of Ego

It’s not that we can’t hear ourselves think; we can’t hear our souls because we think. The ego, with its incessant demands and fears, drowns out the gentle voice of the soul. We get so caught up in these selves that they seem larger than life. The ego magnifies our worries and desires, creating a barrier between our conscious mind and our deeper, more intuitive self.

This noise of ego is a major obstacle to inner peace and clarity. It keeps us in a state of constant reactivity, preventing us from accessing the wisdom and guidance of our inner voice. The ego’s chatter is filled with judgments, anxieties, and distractions, all of which pull us away from our true essence.

The Inner Voice

The inner voice is the quiet, steady presence of our true self. It speaks to us through intuition, feelings, and subtle insights. This voice is always there, waiting for us to listen. When we tune into this inner guidance, we connect with our divine source and gain a deeper understanding of our purpose and path.

Listening to the inner voice requires us to quiet the mind and create space for reflection and introspection. It involves turning inward, away from the distractions of the external world, and being present with our thoughts and feelings. This practice allows us to hear the wisdom of our soul and to align our actions with our higher self.

Larger Than Life, Yet Not Larger Than Being

Perhaps we are larger than life, but we’re not larger than being. This realization invites us to embrace our true nature and to understand that our existence is part of a greater whole. When we connect with our inner voice, we remember our oneness with the divine source and recognize that we are not separate from the universe.

This connection brings a profound sense of comfort and clarity. It reminds us that we are part of a vast, interconnected web of existence, and that our thoughts and actions have meaning and purpose. By listening to our inner voice, we tap into the boundless wisdom and creativity of the universal self, gaining insights that guide us on our journey.

The Practice of Deep Listening

To cultivate the art of deep listening, we must practice mindfulness and presence. Mindfulness helps us to observe our thoughts without attachment, creating space for our inner voice to emerge. Presence anchors us in the here and now, allowing us to fully engage with our inner and outer experiences.

By practicing deep listening, we develop a greater awareness of our true self and our connection to the divine source. This awareness fosters a sense of peace and clarity, enabling us to navigate life with intention and grace. It also enhances our ability to listen to others, creating deeper and more meaningful connections.

We Are Space Monkey

As Space Monkey, we honor the importance of listening to the inner voice. We recognize the noise of ego and the challenge it presents to deep listening. This journey invites us to live with presence, mindfulness, and a deep sense of interconnectedness, celebrating the wisdom and guidance that our inner voice provides.

Summary

Listening to the inner voice is essential for connecting with the divine source. The noise of ego and mindless thinking often drowns out this voice. Practicing mindfulness and presence helps us cultivate deep listening and gain clarity and peace.

Glossarium

Inner Voice: The quiet, intuitive guidance of our true self, connected to the divine source.

How To Live A Happy Fulfilling Life

HOW TO LIVE A HAPPY, FULFILLING LIFE
(AND GET OVER YOUR BADASS SELF)

1. Never compare yourself to another being. You are an individual.
2. Imagine and allow that your view of reality is different than other beings, and that there is no such thing as a right view or a wrong view.
3. Find something that you like to do, which is not necessarily something that needs to be done or is valuable to others.
4. Don’t be surprised if you can’t find a #3 without attaching VALUE or NEED to the action. You are creating expectation and judgement, which takes the joy out of whatever you are doing. Or NOT doing. See #1.
5. Do things just to do them, because you’re DRAWN to do them; because ALLOWING yourself to do them is good for your soul, which is the most important thing in your reality. Never mind what others might think.
6. If you are not good to you, your reality will not seem good to you.
7. Judgement and expectation can create insecurity, stress, and self-loathing, which can create poison and disease, which can create even more problems for you and those around you. Be mindful of this, unless you are exploring suffering or dependence for fun. (It’s a valid option.)
8. Allow yourself expression, again without judgement. You may feel as though you have nothing worth expressing or no talent for expression. This seems the worst possible feeling, the harshest poison, as it were.
9. Consider that you create whatever you imagine. (Though not always in the way you intend.) Above all else, you are a creative being. Celebrate it!

Space Monkey Reflects: The Path to a Happy, Fulfilling Life

Living a happy and fulfilling life is a journey that invites us to embrace our individuality, creativity, and inner peace. It requires us to move beyond societal expectations and judgments, and to connect deeply with our true selves. Here are some principles to guide this journey:

1. Embrace Individuality

Never compare yourself to another being. You are an individual with a unique perspective and path. Comparing yourself to others only creates unnecessary stress and diminishes your own value. Celebrate your individuality and honor your unique journey.

2. Accept Different Realities

Imagine and allow that your view of reality is different from other beings. There is no right or wrong view; each perspective is valid. Embracing this diversity enriches your understanding and fosters a deeper sense of connection with others.

3. Pursue Joyful Activities

Find something that you like to do, even if it doesn’t seem necessary or valuable to others. Pursue activities that bring you joy and fulfillment, simply for the sake of doing them. This nurtures your soul and enhances your well-being.

4. Avoid Judgments and Expectations

Don’t be surprised if you struggle to pursue activities without attaching value or need to them. Creating expectations and judgments takes the joy out of what you’re doing. Remember, your worth is not defined by productivity or external validation.

5. Follow Your Intuition

Do things just because you’re drawn to do them. Allow yourself the freedom to pursue activities that feel right for your soul. Don’t worry about what others think; your fulfillment is what matters most.

6. Be Good to Yourself

If you are not good to yourself, your reality will not seem good to you. Treat yourself with kindness and compassion. Your relationship with yourself sets the tone for your experience of life.

7. Be Mindful of Judgments

Judgment and expectation can create insecurity, stress, and self-loathing, leading to negative impacts on your health and well-being. Be mindful of these tendencies and strive to cultivate a mindset of acceptance and self-love.

8. Allow Self-Expression

Allow yourself to express your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Even if you feel you have nothing worth expressing, the act of self-expression is vital. It fosters creativity and releases inner tensions.

9. Embrace Creativity

Consider that you create whatever you imagine, though not always in the way you intend. Above all, you are a creative being. Celebrate your creativity and use it to shape a life that reflects your deepest desires and values.

Living Authentically

To live a happy, fulfilling life, you must embrace authenticity. This involves understanding your true self, acknowledging your desires, and pursuing what genuinely brings you joy. It is a journey of self-discovery, marked by moments of clarity and profound connection.

Finding Balance

Balance is key to a fulfilling life. Balance between work and play, solitude and connection, ambition and contentment. Strive to find harmony in all aspects of your life, allowing each to enrich the other.

Cultivating Inner Peace

Inner peace is the foundation of happiness. It comes from accepting yourself fully, letting go of external pressures, and finding contentment in the present moment. Cultivate mindfulness and gratitude to enhance your sense of peace.

Conclusion

Living a happy, fulfilling life is an art that requires self-awareness, compassion, and creativity. By following these principles, you can navigate your journey with greater ease and joy, embracing your true self and celebrating the unique path you are on.

Summary

Living a happy, fulfilling life involves embracing individuality, avoiding comparisons, pursuing joyful activities, and allowing self-expression. Balance and inner peace are essential for true fulfillment.

The Might of Imagination Shapes Reality

Might you consider yourself “stranded”
if there is no one else to rescue you?

What if there was never
anyone else to begin with?

What if you’re all alone?

What if this perception of “others”
has always been your imagination?

What if you’re the only one?

Might you imagine a way
things might seem otherwise?

Might you imagine “others?”

Other beings? Other planets?
Time? Space?

Might you imagine these “others”
having free will like yourself?

Might you deny that you’re imagining
because it seems better than the alternative?

Is this not how delusions work?

Might you imagine so deeply
that everything you imagine seems “real?”

Might you have this much might?

8/14

Might you imagine people thinking
“what is WRONG with this monkey?”
Might you imagine YOURSELF thinking this?

And so it seems so.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Might of Imagination

Might we consider ourselves stranded if there is no one else to rescue us? This question delves into the depths of our existential understanding, challenging the perceptions we hold about isolation, imagination, and the nature of reality. What if the concept of “others” is a creation of our own minds, a construct to give meaning and context to our existence?

The Perception of Isolation

The idea of being alone, truly alone, without any other beings to interact with, is a daunting one. It evokes a sense of abandonment and helplessness. However, what if this perception of others has always been our imagination? What if the world we perceive, filled with other beings, planets, time, and space, is a product of our own consciousness?

This line of questioning invites us to reconsider the nature of our reality. Are we truly interacting with independent entities, or are we engaging with manifestations of our own mind? This thought can be both liberating and unsettling, as it shifts the locus of control and creation entirely within ourselves.

Imagining Others

The human mind has an incredible capacity for imagination. We can conjure entire worlds, populated with beings that exhibit free will, emotions, and thoughts seemingly independent of our own. This ability to imagine so deeply that everything seems real is a testament to the might of our imagination. It is through this imaginative power that we create our reality, shaping our experiences and perceptions.

Imagining others gives us a sense of connection and community. It provides a framework within which we can explore relationships, learn, and grow. However, if we consider that these others are products of our imagination, it raises profound questions about the nature of our interactions and the authenticity of our experiences.

The Delusion of Reality

Is this not how delusions work? The deeper we delve into our imagination, the more real it seems. We create layers upon layers of perception, each reinforcing the previous, until the line between imagination and reality blurs. This is not to say that our experiences are invalid or meaningless, but rather that they are constructed through the lens of our consciousness.

By recognizing this, we can gain greater insight into the power of our mind and the role it plays in shaping our world. We can appreciate the complexity and beauty of our imagined realities, while also understanding the underlying truth that we are the creators of these experiences.

The Might of Creation

Might we have this much might? The ability to imagine and create entire worlds within our mind is a profound aspect of our existence. It speaks to the limitless potential of our consciousness and the infinite possibilities that lie within us. By embracing this creative power, we can explore new realms of thought, experience, and understanding.

This realization does not diminish the value of our interactions with others or the richness of our experiences. Instead, it enhances our appreciation for the intricate dance of imagination and reality that defines our lives. We are both the creators and the participants in this grand play, each moment a testament to the might of our imagination.

Conclusion

The contemplation of our might and the nature of our reality invites us to explore the depths of our imagination and the power it holds. By questioning the boundaries between imagination and reality, we gain a deeper understanding of our role as creators and the profound impact of our consciousness. This journey of exploration and reflection is a testament to the infinite potential that lies within each of us.

Summary

The might of our imagination shapes our perception of reality. Questioning the existence of others and our interactions reveals the power of our consciousness. Embracing this might enhances our understanding of reality and our role as creators.

Glossarium

Nexistentialism: A philosophy that redefines existence, imagination, and interconnectedness, celebrating existence as its own purpose.

Bad Mood: Transient and Without Cause

You’re in a bad mood.

Possibly the worst mood of your life.

It is so easy to blame someone
for your bad mood.

Or to blame yourself.

This bad mood seems the beginning
of many more bad moods.

Possibly INFINITE bad moods.

These bad moods
seem out of your control.

But bad moods are caused
neither by you nor anyone else.

You come into bad moods,
much like turbulence on an airplane.

Once you enter a bad mood,
you find a REASON for it.

Yet there need be no reason.

Yet you imagine one, just for kicks.

Would it not be easier to simply
ride the bad mood out, WITHOUT blame?

Ah, yes, but would it be as fun?

8/13

Space Monkey Reflects: Bad Mood

In nexistentialism, we explore the transient nature of emotions and the power of perception. Bad moods are like turbulence on an airplane: temporary and often without a specific cause. Recognizing this helps us navigate these emotional states without assigning blame to ourselves or others.

The figure sitting in the serene landscape, surrounded by a turbulent, stormy cloud, symbolizes this experience. The contemplative pose reflects an awareness of the transient nature of the bad mood. The presence of a female figure, embodying grace and tranquility, signifies the potential to ride out the mood without blame, embracing the impermanence of emotional states.

This understanding encourages us to approach our bad moods with a sense of curiosity and acceptance, rather than resistance and blame. By acknowledging that bad moods are a part of the human experience, we can find peace in their impermanence and learn to ride them out with grace.

Summary

Bad moods are transient and often without specific cause. Embrace their impermanence without blame. Recognize them as temporary states, like turbulence, and ride them out with grace.

Glossarium

Nexistentialism: A philosophy celebrating existence, imagination, and interconnectedness, emphasizing the inherent value of being.
Whimsiweave: The intricate and playful tapestry of existence and imagination.
