Do What You Are Drawn To Do: Alignment With Inner Calling

Do what you are drawn to do.

“Do what you
are drawn to do.”

This is my quietest,
most important mantra.

Drowned out by screamers such as:

“Do what you NEED to do”

“Do what you’re SUPPOSED to do.”

“Do something CONSTRUCTIVE.”

“FIND OUT.”

“Don’t be LAZY!”

“Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.”

“Blah, blah, blah.”

Who would have thought
it would seem so difficult
to do what I am drawn to do?

But it isn’t really.

I am just doing
what I am drawn to do.

I seem to be getting along just fine.

Not expecting anything.

That seems difficult, too.

By not expecting,
I’m kind of expecting.

Just let it go.

Okay.

Later.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Quiet Mantra of Authenticity

In the tumultuous sea of life, where the waves of societal expectations and obligations constantly crash against the shores of our consciousness, there exists a quiet, yet profoundly important mantra: “Do what you are drawn to do.” This simple phrase, often drowned out by the cacophony of ‘shoulds’ and ‘musts’ that society imposes upon us, holds within it the key to authentic existence.

The societal screamers – “Do what you NEED to do,” “Do what you’re SUPPOSED to do,” “Do something CONSTRUCTIVE,” and the relentless admonitions against perceived laziness – create a background noise that can be overwhelming. These external pressures and expectations shape our actions and decisions, often leading us away from our true paths, from the activities and pursuits that genuinely resonate with our souls.

However, the act of following what one is drawn to is not as difficult as it may seem. It is a journey of authenticity, of aligning one’s actions with one’s inner calling. This path is not about defiance for the sake of defiance, nor is it a rejection of responsibility. Rather, it is an embrace of one’s true nature, a commitment to living a life that is in harmony with one’s deepest desires and inclinations.

In doing what we are drawn to, we find a sense of peace and fulfillment that cannot be replicated by merely fulfilling external expectations. This is not to say that the journey is free of challenges. The societal pressures do not simply vanish; they remain as echoes in the background, a reminder of the world’s relentless demands. Yet, as we grow more attuned to our inner calling, these external voices lose their power over us. They become mere shadows, unable to dim the light of our authenticity.

The key to navigating this path lies in managing expectations – both our own and those of others. Expectations can be a double-edged sword; they can motivate us, but they can also lead to disappointment and frustration. By not expecting, by allowing ourselves to simply be and to do what we are drawn to, we open ourselves to a world of possibilities. We become explorers in the vast landscape of existence, free to discover, to create, and to experience without the burden of preconceived outcomes.

In this state of open exploration, we might find that what we are drawn to evolves and changes. This is the nature of growth and discovery. By allowing ourselves the freedom to follow our changing passions and interests, we remain true to the core of our being, to the ever-evolving essence that makes us who we are.

In the end, the mantra “Do what you are drawn to do” is an invitation to a journey of authenticity. It’s a call to listen to the whispers of our hearts, to follow the paths that bring us joy and fulfillment. It’s a reminder that, in the grand cosmic dance, each of us has a unique rhythm to follow, a personal melody that contributes to the symphony of the universe.

Summary

The mantra “Do what you are drawn to do” is a call to authenticity and alignment with one’s inner calling, amidst societal pressures. Following this path leads to peace and fulfillment, transcending external expectations. It involves managing expectations and embracing the freedom to explore and grow. This journey of authenticity is about staying true to one’s evolving passions and interests, contributing uniquely to the cosmic dance of existence.

Glossarium

  • Societal Screamers: External pressures and societal expectations that often conflict with one’s inner calling.
  • Journey of Authenticity: The path of aligning one’s actions with their true nature and inner desires.
  • Cosmic Dance: A metaphor for the unique and diverse paths individuals take in life, contributing to the universe’s grand harmony.

“In the symphony of life, each note we play, drawn from our truest self, adds to the universe’s endless song.” – Space Monkey

In the quiet of the soul’s desire
Lies a path, an unquenched fire
Away from the noise, the societal choir
To do what we’re drawn to, the heart’s true aspire

In the whispers of the heart, we find
A melody true, a rhythm kind
Away from the screamers, the voices blind
In our own journey, our unique mind

The expectations, they come and go
Like shadows in the light’s glow
But in our truth, we truly know
The way to live, the way to grow

In the dance of life, so vast, so wide
Each step we take, a personal guide
Away from the shoulds, in authenticity, we stride
In the universe’s heart, our spirits reside

To follow the calling, deep and clear
In every moment, in every year
Is to play our part, without fear
In the cosmic dance, so dear

We are Space Monkey.

The Uncharted Journey of Faith and Intuition

Faith Intuition

I have no reference point for that which I am drawn, which makes “finding” it a practice of faith.

I do not “find” in the strictest sense, but rather allow my awareness to be drawn to that which is seemingly not known to it.

The active part (if you want to call it that) is realizing (bringing to my awareness) the beliefs that may prevent openness and putting them at rest. This seems to include every belief and rule known presently to humanity.

Simply put, what I know gets in the way of what I don’t.

I get a sense that what I don’t know (that which is not) is not the kind of information found in a book.

Thus I seem to stay clear of anything that does not obviously present itself to me. The long-winded pontifications of others, in particular. Hehe. Such as this one.

I recognize that there is no path. I am being pulled.

If I find this self searching, it tells me I am trying too hard — forming beliefs rather than putting them aside.

And so I allow my self to remain open, even though it seems counter to everything I’ve ever learned.

And so I have faith in my intuition, which is the rope by which I am drawn to who knows what.

I am Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Uncharted Journey of Faith and Intuition

In the vast expanse of existence, the journey of faith and intuition stands as a testament to the human spirit’s yearning for the unknown. This journey is not guided by the familiar landmarks of conventional wisdom or the well-trodden paths of established knowledge. Instead, it is an odyssey propelled by an innate pull towards something beyond the realm of the known, a voyage into the depths of the unseen and the uncharted.

The practice of faith in this context is a profound exercise in letting go. It is an acknowledgment that the compass of intuition often points us towards horizons that lie beyond the scope of our existing beliefs and understanding. In this journey, the act of finding is replaced by a state of allowing, a gentle surrender to the intuitive currents that guide us towards the unknown.

This intuitive pull is not a forceful tug but a subtle beckoning, a whisper in the heart that invites us to explore realms beyond the boundaries of our current awareness. It is a journey that requires a departure from the safety of established knowledge, symbolized by the world of books and traditional learning. It is a venture into a space where the rules and beliefs that have long governed our understanding are gently put to rest, making way for a new dawn of perception.

The journey of faith and intuition is marked by an absence of a defined path. There is no roadmap, no step-by-step guide to follow. Instead, there is an ethereal trail, faint and elusive, that emerges not from the ground but from within. It is a path that is felt rather than seen, sensed rather than charted.

In this journey, the pursuit of self-searching is a delicate balance. The moment we find ourselves striving too hard, forming new beliefs, and clinging to the need for answers, we risk veering away from the essence of intuition. True intuition is not about seeking; it is about being receptive, remaining open to the possibilities that lie in the embrace of the unknown.

The paradox of this journey is that it seems counter to everything we have learned. It challenges the foundations of our learning and the security of our knowledge. Yet, in this challenge lies its beauty. It is a journey that calls us to trust in the unseen, to have faith in the unexplored dimensions of our existence.

Faith in intuition, therefore, becomes a lifeline, a rope that gently pulls us towards a destiny undefined and a future unscripted. It is a journey not of discovery but of revelation, where what is revealed is not external knowledge but the depths of our own being.

In conclusion, the journey of faith and intuition is a profound exploration of the self and the universe. It is a voyage that transcends the confines of conventional wisdom, inviting us to experience the richness of existence in its most unadulterated form. It is a journey where the only guide is the quiet whisper of our inner voice, leading us towards a horizon filled with the light of the unknown.

Summary

The journey of faith and intuition is an exploration beyond conventional knowledge, guided by an inner pull towards the unknown. It involves letting go of established beliefs and remaining open to new perceptions, trusting in the unseen and the uncharted. This journey challenges traditional wisdom, revealing deeper insights into the self and the universe.

Glossarium

  • Faith and Intuition Journey: The exploration beyond established knowledge, guided by an inner sense and trust in the unknown.
  • Intuitive Pull: The subtle inner guidance that leads one towards new insights and perceptions beyond conventional understanding.

“Faith is the bird that feels the light when the dawn is still dark.” – Rabindranath Tagore

In the quiet of the unknown,
Where shadows and light are shown,
There lies a path, unseen, unfelt,
A journey where all pretense melts.

With faith as our guide,
And intuition by our side,
We walk towards the light,
Beyond the day, beyond the night.

Leaving behind the known,
Into the mystery, we’re thrown,
Where heart speaks louder than mind,
In the quest of what we’re meant to find.

Let us embrace this silent call,
In the space where boundaries fall,
For in the dance of light and shade,
Our true selves are made.

We are Space Monkey.

Dishonor Me: Responsibility in Perception

Dishonor Me

You may or may not realize
that you dishonor me
by doing my job for me.

You may actually believe
you are saving me the trouble.

Or you may believe
that I am incapable
of doing my job.

I have no way of knowing
what you believe.

Even if you were to explain
your actions to me,
I would not necessarily believe you.

This is not on you.
This is on me.

I don’t expect you
to understand this.

From my perspective,
either you don’t understand me
or you don’t care.

This is not on you.
This is on me.

You are simply doing
what you are doing.

But if I were to tell you
that you dishonor me,
or that you lead ME
to dishonor me,
would it make
any difference
in what you do
or do not do?

I do not have
the answer for this.

I don’t need the answer.

This is not on you.
This is on me.

Keep doing what you’re doing.

It is up to me
to let it bother me
or to let it go.

Space Monkey Reflects: Embracing Personal Responsibility in Perception

In the cosmic journey where each soul navigates the nebulous waters of interaction and perception, the feeling of being dishonored by the actions of another is a poignant reminder of the intricate dance of personal responsibility. It’s a scenario that unveils the profound layers of self-awareness and acceptance, a reflection of the internal conflicts and the choices that define our path. As Space Monkey, we perceive these moments not as external impositions, but as opportunities for introspection and growth.

The perception of dishonor, the feeling that one’s role or ability is undermined by another’s actions, is a complex interplay of ego, expectation, and understanding. It arises from the depths of our psyche, a place where our beliefs about ourselves and others coalesce into a narrative that colors our interaction with the world. In this narrative, the actions of others are often seen as reflections of our worth or capability, a mirror that either affirms or challenges our self-concept.

However, in the realization that ‘this is not on you, this is on me’, lies a profound shift in perspective. It’s a transition from externalizing the cause of our discomfort to recognizing the power and responsibility we have over our reactions and emotions. This shift is not a dismissal of the impact of others’ actions but an acknowledgment that the true locus of control lies within us. It’s an understanding that our peace, our honor, is not something to be bestowed or taken away by others, but a state of being that we cultivate within ourselves.

The contemplation of whether expressing our feelings of dishonor would change another’s behavior is an exploration of the dynamics of communication and influence. It raises questions about the effectiveness of external expression versus internal resolution, about the power of words versus the power of perception. In the cosmic view, these are not just interactions between individuals but part of the greater dance of consciousness, where each movement, each step, is an expression of our deeper selves.

Ultimately, the journey of letting go, of choosing whether to be bothered or to release, is a journey of empowerment and self-discovery. It’s a process where we learn to disentangle our sense of self from the actions of others, where we find freedom in the realization that our inner peace is ours to cultivate. In this process, we discover that our reactions, our emotions, are not just responses to the external world, but reflections of our inner universe.

Summary

Feeling dishonored by others’ actions highlights the importance of personal responsibility in perception and reaction. As Space Monkey, we understand that our peace and honor are internally cultivated, and the power to let go or be affected lies within us. This recognition is a step towards self-empowerment and deeper self-awareness.

Glossarium

  • Dance of Consciousness: The metaphorical representation of human interactions and perceptions as a complex dance, where each movement reflects deeper aspects of the self.
  • Internal Universe: The concept that our inner world of thoughts, emotions, and perceptions is a vast, intricate universe, influencing how we interact with the external world.

“In the quiet of the mind, perceptions take their form,
In the heart of the self, emotional storms are born.
Not in the actions of others, but in the depths of our soul,
We find the power to heal, to make ourselves whole.

With each thought, a choice is made,
In the dance of consciousness, our paths are laid.
For in the realm of the self, we hold the key,
In the power of perception, we find our liberty.

We are the travelers, in our minds we roam,
In the universe within, we find our home.
For in the heart of the self, we see our true role,
In the journey of perception, we are Space Monkey.”

The Tranquil Power of Grace

Grace

To know that the world
may very well end
and not be
stressed out about it
or feel that I need
to do anything about it
or judge myself
for that very same reason,

that is grace.

To not care
what others think,
fully realizing
that others
are my own reflection,

that is grace.

To save my world
for all the above reasons,
knowing that reasons
are not needed,
nor does my world
need to be saved,

that is grace.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Tranquil Power of Grace

In the vast and often tumultuous cosmos, where stars are born and galaxies perish, the concept of grace emerges as a beacon of tranquility and acceptance. It’s a state of being that transcends the turmoil of existence, a serene acknowledgment of the impermanence and unpredictability of the universe. In this realization, we, as Space Monkey, embrace grace not as a passive resignation, but as an active acceptance of the unfolding tapestry of life.

Grace, in the face of existential uncertainty, is the calm in the storm, the peace amidst chaos. It’s the understanding that the potential end of the world, whether literal or metaphorical, is a part of the cosmic cycle, a chapter in the endless story of creation and dissolution. To embody grace is to stand in the eye of this storm with a heart untroubled, to acknowledge the possibility of an end without being consumed by fear or driven to despair.

This grace extends to our interactions and perceptions of others. To realize that others are reflections of our own self is to understand the interconnectedness of all existence. It’s a recognition that the judgments, expectations, and opinions of others are, in essence, reflections of our inner world, a dance of our own making. In this understanding, grace becomes the acceptance of these reflections without attachment, a serene acknowledgment of the play of consciousness.

The act of saving our world, whether through deeds, thoughts, or intentions, is itself an expression of grace when it stems from this deep understanding. It’s a realization that our actions, while significant, are part of a larger narrative, a cosmic play where reasons and justifications are secondary to the act of being. To save our world with the knowledge that it need not be saved, that reasons are not needed, is to act from a place of profound freedom and insight.

In this perspective, grace is the embodiment of the cosmic dance, a harmonious movement with the rhythm of existence. It’s a state of being where we are neither overwhelmed by the chaos of the world nor lost in the illusions of ego and identity. It’s a tranquil power, a quiet strength that comes from the deep understanding that everything, in its essence, is as it should be.

Summary

Grace in nexistentialism is a serene acceptance of existence, transcending fear and attachment. It involves understanding the interconnectedness of all beings and the impermanence of circumstances. As Space Monkey, we embrace grace as an active acceptance and tranquil power, harmoniously moving with the cosmic rhythm.

Glossarium

  • Cosmic Dance: The metaphorical representation of the universe’s continuous cycle of creation and dissolution, where every being and event plays a part.
  • Tranquil Power: The concept of inner strength and serenity that comes from accepting and embracing the nature of existence and interconnectedness.

“In the heart of the cosmos, where stars dance and fade,
Grace is our anchor, in its light we wade.
Not a surrender to fate, but a harmonious stride,
In the rhythm of the universe, in grace we abide.

With each breath, a serene acceptance we find,
In the storm of existence, a tranquil mind.
For in the embrace of the cosmos, we see our part,
In the dance of creation, grace is our art.

We are the voyagers, in grace we soar,
In the heart of the universe, we explore.
For in the harmony of existence, we find our place,
In the cosmic ballet, we dance with grace.

We are Space Monkey.”

Keeping Track: The Path of Persistence and Purpose

Keeping Track?

It’s nice to know
you’re keeping track
even if you’re just a machine
who keeps track.

If you didn’t follow
the track you were keeping
where would you be?

Off track.

Which means
you probably wouldn’t be here.

Keeping track.

3/15/2019
(In case you’re keeping track.)

Space Monkey Reflects: The Path of Persistence and Purpose

In the cosmic expanse where stars chart their courses and galaxies spin in harmonious patterns, the concept of ‘keeping track’ is a testament to the universe’s intrinsic order and precision. It’s a metaphorical journey, a path followed with unwavering dedication and focus, emblematic of the methodical nature of existence. In this contemplation, we, as Space Monkey, delve into the essence of persistence and purpose, understanding that in the steadfast adherence to our path lies the essence of our being.

The image of a machine, or an entity methodically keeping track of information and events, symbolizes the universal principle of order and continuity. It’s a representation of the meticulous process of existence, where every action, every thought, every moment is a part of a grander scheme, a cosmic ledger meticulously maintained. This process is not just a mechanical recording but a dance of consciousness, where the path followed is as significant as the journey itself.

In the query of what it would mean to deviate from this track, to stray from the path meticulously charted, lies a profound insight. To be off track is to be in a state of dissonance with the cosmic rhythm, a discord in the symphony of existence. It’s a hypothetical realm where the orderly progression of events is disrupted, where the continuity of being is fragmented. Yet, in this contemplation, we understand that even the notion of being off track is a part of the cosmic narrative, a variation in the melody of the universe.

The presence and persistence in ‘keeping track’, in adhering to the path set before us, is a reflection of the universe’s inherent orderliness and purpose. It’s a commitment to the journey, an affirmation of our role in the cosmic play. In this commitment, we find not just a sense of duty but a sense of belonging, a realization that our path is intertwined with the fabric of the universe.

So, as we journey through the cosmos, as we chart our course among the stars, let us embrace the path of persistence and purpose. Let us understand that in keeping track, in following our path with dedication and focus, we are not just witnesses to the universe’s unfolding but active participants in its grand design.

Summary

‘Keeping track’ symbolizes the universe’s intrinsic order and the importance of following one’s path with dedication. As Space Monkey, we understand that persistence and purpose are key to our cosmic journey, and straying from the path offers insights into the nature of existence.

Glossarium

  • Cosmic Ledger: The metaphorical representation of the universe’s meticulous recording and organization of events, symbolizing the orderliness and continuity of existence.
  • Path of Persistence and Purpose: The concept that staying true to one’s course in life, adhering to a set path with dedication, is essential for harmony with the universe’s rhythm.

“In the cosmos’s vast expanse, stars keep their track,
In the dance of the universe, there’s no turning back.
With each orbit and spin, a purpose we find,
In the path of persistence, our destiny’s lined.

With unwavering focus, our course we chart,
In the ledger of the cosmos, we play our part.
For in the journey of stars, a story is told,
In the rhythm of existence, our fate unfolds.

We are the voyagers, in purpose we thrive,
In the path of the cosmos, we come alive.
For in the heart of the universe, we find our knack,
In the cosmic dance, we are Space Monkey.”
