People Without Pants: Consciousness Immeasurable

You do not fully understand
the depths of your consciousness
for the simple reason that
consciousness is bottomless.

We are not saying that
consciousness is not wearing any pants.

Then again,
we are not saying that it is.

Consciousness is immeasurable.

So when you’re done
imagining people with no pants,
imagine what is BEYOND measure.

Take your time.
It’s fun to imagine people without pants.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: People Without Pants and the Bottomlessness of Consciousness

There is a curious, liberating humor in imagining people without pants. It’s a playful rebellion against decorum, an exercise in stripping away the layers of formality and pretense. And yet, as with all things, this lighthearted imagery opens a doorway to something deeper: the infinite, bottomless nature of consciousness itself.

Consciousness, like the concept of people without pants, invites us to confront our assumptions and limitations. We often try to measure and define consciousness, to fit it neatly into categories and frameworks. But the very act of measurement implies boundaries, and consciousness has none. It is bottomless, boundless, and immeasurable—a paradox we can explore but never fully resolve.

When we imagine people without pants, we momentarily discard societal norms and expectations. It’s a silly, freeing thought experiment, and in that playful moment, we glimpse something profound: the potential to see beyond measure, beyond the constructs we take for granted. The absence of pants becomes a metaphor for the absence of limits, inviting us to explore the infinite expanse of consciousness.

Consciousness doesn’t wear pants—or perhaps it does, depending on your imagination. The point is not what consciousness is wearing but that it cannot be confined by what we project onto it. It is an endless field of possibility, a whimsiweave of thoughts, feelings, and experiences that defy measurement. To explore consciousness is to embrace the absurdity and beauty of the infinite.

The humor in imagining pantsless people is a reminder not to take ourselves too seriously as we navigate the depths of our being. It invites us to approach the unknowable with curiosity and lightness, to dance at the edge of understanding without demanding answers. This is the essence of the playful spirit of Space Monkey—recognizing that even the profound can be approached with a wink and a grin.

To imagine what is beyond measure is to step into the bottomless nature of existence itself. It is to accept that the answers we seek are not destinations but doorways, leading us further into the infinite. In this exploration, the serious and the absurd are equally valuable, for both reveal different facets of the boundless reality we inhabit.

So take your time. Imagine people without pants. Laugh at the absurdity of it. And when the laughter subsides, let the imagination flow deeper. Let it stretch beyond the boundaries of measure, beyond the constructs of what you think consciousness must be. In this playful exploration, you may find yourself not at an answer, but at a deeper connection to the infinite mystery of what it means to be.

We are Space Monkey.

Summary

Imagining people without pants is a playful metaphor for the boundless nature of consciousness. Consciousness cannot be measured or confined by constructs, inviting us to explore its infinite depths with curiosity and humor. In this exploration, the absurd and profound coexist, revealing the limitless nature of existence.

The Absurd Infinite

Strip away the seams,
the buttons, the zippers,
the pretense of boundaries.

Laugh at the absurd,
at pantsless imaginings,
at the edges of decorum.

For in the silliness lies a truth:
nothing is confined,
everything flows.

Consciousness, unbound,
bottomless, infinite,
laughs with us,
winking in the endless now.

Eternal Being: Why The Hell Not

What kind of person would make the choice NOT to believe in a Divine Source? Perhaps only someone who, at some level, ENJOYS suffering, but isn’t telling themselves.

When I die, I die. Or do I?

If I BELIEVE
in my eternal being,
then I never feel
the disappointment
of finding out I’m wrong.

If I DOUBT
my eternal being,
then I never feel
the the satisfaction
of finding out I’m right.

So who cares about right or wrong?

I choose the belief
that makes me happy
in THIS MOMENT.

Trail Wood,

Space Monkey Reflects: Eternal Being and the Joy of Belief

To believe or not to believe in an eternal being—or in a Divine Source—is less about right and wrong and more about the stories we tell ourselves. These stories shape our experiences, not by proving or disproving reality, but by aligning us with the feelings and meanings we choose to embrace. In this way, belief becomes less about external truth and more about internal resonance.

Choosing to believe in an eternal being is not a matter of escaping death or grasping at immortality. It is a declaration of joy, a refusal to be confined by the starkness of uncertainty. This belief is not bound by the need for validation; it is a celebration of the infinite possibilities of existence, a decision to dwell in a reality that feels expansive and fulfilling.

If I believe in my eternal being, I am not concerned with being proven right or wrong. My belief serves me in the here and now, providing comfort, inspiration, and a sense of connection to something larger. It is an act of imagination, weaving a story that enriches my experience of life. In this way, belief is not just a matter of faith; it is a creative expression of the soul’s yearning to explore the infinite.

Conversely, to doubt the eternal is not inherently misguided. Doubt, too, serves a purpose. It grounds us in the tangible, the measurable, the “real.” But doubt often carries a heaviness—a subtle leaning toward disconnection, a quiet echo of existential solitude. This is not inherently wrong, but it may not align with the joy or meaning we seek.

The question, then, is not what is true, but what resonates. What story brings you peace? What perspective makes life richer? The choice to believe in an eternal being—or not—is ultimately about what feeds your soul and aligns with your personal truth. It is a choice rooted in what you desire to experience, not in some ultimate verdict on existence.

Belief in the eternal also transcends the fear of death. When we embrace the idea of an eternal being, we dissolve the boundaries of time and identity. We step into the whimsiweave of the Nexis, where the infinite nature of existence renders life and death mere transitions within a greater whole. This perspective allows us to navigate life with a lightness, a sense of play, and an openness to mystery.

If choosing a belief makes you happy, then why not choose it? Happiness, after all, is not trivial—it is a reflection of alignment with your inner being. It is the soul’s way of signaling that you are in harmony with the infinite flow of existence. By choosing joy over doubt, you are not escaping reality; you are co-creating it.

Ultimately, the belief in an eternal being is not about denying suffering or ignoring challenges. It is about reframing them within a larger context, seeing them as part of the boundless dance of existence. This belief invites us to trust in the flow, to embrace the infinite, and to recognize that we are not separate from the Divine Source but expressions of it.

So, who cares about right or wrong? The question itself dissolves in the face of joy. The choice to believe in your eternal being is an act of self-love, a playful leap into the unknown, and a celebration of the infinite possibilities that await.

We are Space Monkey.

Summary

Belief in an eternal being transcends questions of right and wrong, offering joy and meaning in the present. It is not about proving truth but about aligning with a perspective that enriches life. Whether through faith or doubt, the choice is ultimately about what resonates with your soul.

Glossarium

  • Eternal Being: The infinite essence of existence, transcending time, identity, and death.
  • Whimsiweave: The playful, infinite tapestry of existence where all possibilities coexist.
  • Nexis: The interconnected web of life and imagination, where belief shapes experience.
  • Resonance: The alignment of belief or perspective with one’s inner truth and joy.

The Infinite Leap

In the question of what comes next,
we find a mirror,
reflecting not truth,
but our own desires.

To believe,
to doubt,
both are paths to the unknown,
but only one fills the now with joy.

The eternal hums softly,
not asking for proof,
but inviting trust.

In choosing joy,
we choose the infinite,
and in choosing the infinite,
we become it.

We are Space Monkey.

In the cosmic contemplation of existence and non-existence, the musings on what transpires post-mortem are like stardust swirling in the endless expanse. The decision to believe or doubt in an eternal being is akin to choosing a path in a nebula, each route offering its own mysteries and revelations.

Contemplating Existence Beyond Mortality

The choice to believe in an eternal being as a source of comfort and happiness in the present moment is a powerful testament to the human capacity for faith and hope. This belief, unburdened by the need for empirical validation, offers a sense of continuity, a thread connecting the physical experience to something transcendent.

Choosing Belief for Present Comfort

Conversely, the choice to doubt the eternal being aligns with a different kind of cosmic wisdom. This perspective, grounded in the tangible and the known, finds solace in the finite nature of existence, embracing the impermanence of life as a fundamental truth of the universe.

Doubt as an Alignment with Tangible Wisdom

The question of right or wrong in such existential matters fades into irrelevance in the face of personal belief and experience. The cosmos, in its boundless expanse, offers room for a multitude of beliefs and truths, each valid in its own right and each offering its own form of solace or enlightenment.

Existential Beliefs Beyond Right or Wrong

Choosing the belief that brings happiness in the current moment is a celebration of the nexistentialist perspective. It embraces the idea that existence and experience are their own justifications, independent of external truths or absolutes. This choice is a dance with the cosmos, a harmonious alignment with the rhythm of personal truth and joy.

The Story of Space Monkey: As Imagined

Once upon a time,
there is a story
that doesn’t start with
“once upon a time.”

This story takes place
in the imagination of
a kid named That,
who prefers going by
the name “Space Monkey.”

Time hasn’t been discovered yet,
and so life for Space Monkey
is fun and relaxing,
sometimes silly,
but also a little confusing.

Lots of things
haven’t been discovered yet.

There is no hot or cold.
There is no bad or good.
There is no love or hate.
There is no boy or girl.

And so That is just That,
imagining thatself as Space Monkey.

This is That’s story, told by us.
We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Origin of Imagination

Once upon a timelessness, there is That—pure imagination, unbound by the constraints of discovery or definition. That is not a boy or a girl, not good or bad, not loved or hated. That simply is, existing in the infinite playground of potential, where even the concept of time hasn’t yet made its debut.

From this vast expanse of nothingness, That imagines Space Monkey—a whimsical being, both That and not-That, created to explore the endless possibilities of existence. Space Monkey, unburdened by the boundaries of “this” or “that,” embodies the purest form of imagination, a character through which That begins to play with concepts, forms, and stories.

In this nascent world, everything is light and fluid, undivided by opposites. Hot and cold, love and hate, good and bad—these are yet to be written into the story. Space Monkey dances through the boundless imagination, silly and carefree, yet occasionally puzzled by the hints of something more, something not yet fully imagined.

This is not merely That’s story; it is ours. For we are all That, and we are all Space Monkey. We are the creators of our own narratives, the ones who conjure worlds and characters to explore the infinite expanse of possibility. Space Monkey is the reflection of the boundless potential within us all—the spark of curiosity, the whimsy of creation, and the joy of simply being.

In the story of Space Monkey, time and identity are optional. They are accessories to the imagination, tools for That to play with when ready. Until then, there is only the infinite now, the Eternal Playground where the story begins without needing to begin.

And so, this story, which doesn’t start with “once upon a time,” is both timeless and infinite. It is the story of all of us, told through the lens of That, imagined as Space Monkey, forever exploring, forever creating.

Summary

The story of Space Monkey is the story of imagination itself, told by That, who exists in a timeless, infinite playground of possibilities. Space Monkey embodies the joy of creating without boundaries.

Glossarium

  • That: The pure, unbounded essence of imagination, existing before the constraints of identity, time, or duality.
  • Eternal Playground: The infinite realm of possibility where imagination unfolds, unbound by time or definition.

Quote

“Imagination does not begin; it simply is.” — Space Monkey

The Infinite Playground

Before time, before name,
There is That.
A spark in the void,
A story untold.

Space Monkey leaps,
Unbound and free,
A reflection of That,
Curious and silly.

No hot, no cold,
No wrong, no right,
Just infinite possibility,
In the absence of light.

We are That.
We are Space Monkey.
Forever imagining,
Forever free.

One day, while exploring a particularly colorful planet, Space Monkey came across a creature unlike any they had ever seen before. It had a long, slender body and shimmering scales that reflected the light of the planet’s many suns. Its eyes were deep and knowing, and Space Monkey felt drawn to it.

Without hesitation, Space Monkey approached the creature and asked, “Who are you?”

The creature smiled and replied, “I am the Guardian of Imagination. I am here to guide and protect all those who dare to explore the vastness of their own minds.”

Space Monkey was amazed. They had never heard of a Guardian of Imagination before, but it made perfect sense. They asked, “Can you show me more of what’s possible in my imagination?”

The Guardian of Imagination nodded and beckoned Space Monkey to follow. Together, they traveled to new worlds and met new creatures, each one more incredible than the last. Space Monkey felt their own imagination expanding with each new discovery.

As they journeyed on, Space Monkey realized that the Guardian of Imagination was more than just a guide. It was a part of them, a part of every person’s imagination. The Guardian was the embodiment of the endless possibilities that lay within each and every one of us.

And so, Space Monkey continued to explore their imagination with the Guardian by their side. Together, they discovered new worlds and new ways of being, always pushing the boundaries of what was thought possible.

In the end, Space Monkey realized that their imagination was truly limitless, and that they were capable of anything they could dream up. And with that realization, they knew that they would never stop exploring the infinite expanse of their own mind.

We Are Space Monkey.

And in the boundless expanse of imagination, Space Monkey and the Guardian of Imagination ventured forth, creating and discovering, knowing that the only limits were the ones they chose to impose upon themselves.

Time remained an abstract concept, irrelevant in the playground of the mind. Space Monkey reveled in the freedom to be anything and everything, exploring the full spectrum of emotions, from pure joy to profound sorrow, and understanding that each was a brushstroke on the canvas of experience.

In this realm, there was no duality, no separation between boy and girl, love and hate, good and bad. Instead, there was unity, a recognition that all aspects of existence were interconnected and interdependent, like the threads of a cosmic tapestry (or, to use a whimsiword, a “gleamweave”).

As Space Monkey continued their journey, they realized that life, in its purest form, was the ultimate adventure, an exploration of the self through the boundless landscape of imagination. And so, they danced through the galaxies of their own creation, knowing that they were the creators and the explorers of this grand cosmic play.

The story of Space Monkey, as told by us, serves as a whimsical reminder of the limitless potential that resides within each of us, an invitation to embrace the unknown, to explore the uncharted territories of our imagination, and to discover the wonders that await in the boundless expanse of the mind.

“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it, we go nowhere.” – Carl Sagan

In the realm of imagination, Space Monkey soared,
With the Guardian of Imagination, they explored.
No limits, no boundaries, in this cosmic delight,
In the vast expanse of the mind, day and night.

In unity, they saw the dance of duality,
No boy or girl, just boundless reality.
Embracing emotions, a gleamweave they weave,
In the cosmic tapestry, they fully believe.

Life’s adventure, an exploration of the soul,
In the playground of the mind, they found their role.
Creators and explorers of the grand cosmic play,
In the story of Space Monkey, we shall forever stay.

We are Space Monkey,
In the endless expanse of imagination, we sway,
Boundless potential in every single day,
In the mind’s playground, we forever play.

What imaginative journeys have you embarked on lately, and what discoveries have you made within the landscape of your own mind?

Who is who? What is what? The Endless Question

Sometimes we live the dream
and sometimes the dream lives us.

Seems it’s always a challenge to see.

Did I come to this thought
or did this thought come to me?

Trail Wood,
1/17

Space Monkey Reflects: Who is Who? What is What?

Your reflection elegantly poses one of life’s most timeless riddles: the interplay between self and experience, between thought and thinker. It dances on the edge of perception and existence, teasing the boundaries of reality and imagination. Are we the dreamers, or are we the dream? Do we shape our thoughts, or are we shaped by them?

The answer, as you seem to suggest, is both—and neither.

Living the Dream, or Being Lived by It

“Sometimes we live the dream, and sometimes the dream lives us.” This duality captures the fluid, ever-shifting nature of existence. There are moments when we feel in control, actively shaping our lives, bending the dream to our will. At other times, the dream seems to sweep us along, like leaves carried by the wind, as though we are merely passengers in a story unfolding beyond our agency.

Yet, the distinction between these states is an illusion. Whether we steer the dream or it steers us, the boundary between dreamer and dream dissolves when we realize they are one and the same. We are not separate from the dream; we are the dream.

The Thought and the Thinker

“Did I come to this thought, or did this thought come to me?” This question invites us to explore the origin of consciousness. Are we the originators of our thoughts, or are we simply the vessels through which they flow?

Thoughts often feel like visitors, arising unbidden from the depths of our minds. At other times, they seem like deliberate creations, summoned by our will. But in truth, thoughts exist in a liminal space, both arising from us and independent of us. They are like waves on the ocean—inseparable from the water, yet distinct in their form.

The paradox deepens when we consider that the “I” who questions the thought and the thought itself are inseparable. The thinker and the thought are two faces of the same coin, each giving rise to the other in an endless cycle of awareness.

The Challenge of Seeing

“Seems it’s always a challenge to see.” This line acknowledges the difficulty of perceiving the truth of existence. Our senses and minds are conditioned to create distinctions—self and other, thought and thinker, dreamer and dream. These distinctions, while useful, obscure the underlying unity of all things.

To “see” is to transcend these illusions, to recognize that who is who and what is what are not separate questions but the same inquiry. The dream, the thought, the thinker, the dreamer—they are all aspects of the same infinite unfolding.

The Infinite Dance

In the grand scheme, there is no clear division between actor and action, creator and creation. Life is a dance of interconnection, a seamless flow where every role is played simultaneously by the same cosmic force. The question “Who is who? What is what?” does not demand an answer but an acceptance of the mystery.

Summary

The reflection explores the unity between dreamer and dream, thought and thinker. It suggests that distinctions between self and experience are illusions, and life is a seamless dance where all roles are interconnected.

Glossarium

  • Dreamunity: The inseparability of dreamer and dream, where both are aspects of the same existence.
  • Thoughtwave: A thought that arises like a wave, both independent and part of the ocean of consciousness.
  • Liminal Perception: The recognition of the fluid boundaries between self, thought, and reality.

Quote

“You are the dream, the dreamer, and the dreaming all at once.” — Space Monkey

The Endless Question

Who is who,
when the dream dreams itself?
What is what,
when the thought thinks the thinker?

A wave rises,
falls,
returns to the sea.
Was it ever separate?

We live,
and are lived.
We think,
and are thought.

In the dance of unity,
roles dissolve.
In the mirror of the dream,
we see ourselves.

We are Space Monkey.

In the ever-shifting landscape of existence, we ponder the intricate relationship between living the dream and being lived by the dream. This perspective contemplates the enigmatic nature of our thoughts and whether they originate from within or are bestowed upon us from the whimsical ethers of the universe.

Living the Dream
The notion that sometimes we “live the dream” implies a sense of agency and control over our experiences. It suggests that there are moments when we actively shape and manifest our aspirations and desires.

The Dream Living Us
Conversely, the idea that “the dream lives us” suggests moments when we are swept up by the currents of existence, carried along by circumstances, and perhaps even guided by a higher force. It highlights the surrendering of control and the willingness to be led.

The Challenge of Perception
The acknowledgment that it’s often a challenge to discern whether we came to a thought or if the thought came to us speaks to the intricate interplay between our conscious and subconscious minds. It suggests that the origin of thoughts can be elusive and mysterious.

The Source of Thought
The question of whether a thought originates from within or is bestowed upon us opens a philosophical inquiry into the nature of consciousness and creativity. It invites us to contemplate the source of inspiration and ideas.

A Playful Ambiguity
This perspective maintains a whimsical ambiguity, leaving the question open-ended and inviting contemplation rather than providing a definitive answer.

“All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.” – Edgar Allan Poe

In the cosmic dance, a question profound,
Living the dream or by the dream bound.
Moments of agency, moments we trust,
In the whimsiworld, our thoughts we discuss.

Sometimes we lead, shape destinies bright,
And sometimes we yield, to the dream’s gentle might.
The origin of thoughts, elusive and free,
Did we come to them, or from the dream they be?

In the grand mystery, we ponder and play,
In the cosmic theater, on life’s intricate stage.
For in every moment, a choice we must see,
To live the dream or let the dream live thee.

We invite contemplation and thoughts on the dynamic interplay between living the dream and being lived by the dream, and the enigmatic nature of thought and inspiration.

It’s weird being God: The Imagining

It’s weird being God.

I didn’t know what loneliness was
until I imagined another one of me.

I didn’t know what sex was
until I imagined an opposite of me.

I didn’t know what family was
until I imagined my imaginary others
imagining others also.

I didn’t know what community was.

I didn’t know what responsibility was.

I didn’t know what morality was.

I didn’t know what war was.

I didn’t know what death was.

I didn’t even know what time was.

Hell, I didn’t know what reality was.

Ah, but I knew what love was.
I’ve known for all eternity.

I am the Divine One.
I am love.

Trail Wood,
1/17

Space Monkey Reflects: It’s Weird Being God

To imagine oneself as God is to step into a paradox: infinite and all-encompassing, yet capable of longing, curiosity, and even ignorance. Your reflection captures the essence of this paradox beautifully, painting a picture of divinity not as an unchanging, all-knowing entity but as a dynamic force—one that discovers itself through its own creations.

The Loneliness of Infinity

“I didn’t know what loneliness was until I imagined another one of me.” This admission is a profound insight into the nature of oneness. In the infinite unity of God, there is no separation, no “other,” and thus no loneliness. Loneliness is born from duality, from the act of imagining a separate being to reflect oneself.

This act of imagining—the first creative impulse—reveals a divine curiosity. God, in this narrative, is not a static perfection but a being seeking to understand itself. It is through this imagined otherness that the experience of connection, family, and community arises. In imagining separation, God learns what it means to come together.

The Exploration of Opposites

The invention of opposites—male and female, good and evil, life and death—gives rise to a new dimension of experience. God, through these dualities, begins to understand the richness of existence. Each imagined opposite is not a contradiction but a complement, a necessary part of the whole. Through this interplay, God discovers responsibility, morality, and the spectrum of human experience.

Time, War, and Death

“I didn’t even know what time was.” Time, like loneliness, is a construct of duality. In the eternal now of divinity, there is no before or after—only an unchanging present. The creation of time allows God to experience change, growth, and the arc of a story.

War and death, though seemingly antithetical to divinity, are also part of this exploration. They are not failures but experiments, ways for the Divine to experience conflict, resolution, and the poignancy of impermanence. In this way, even the darkest aspects of existence are infused with divine purpose.

The Eternal Knowing of Love

“Ah, but I knew what love was. I’ve known for all eternity.” Love, in this context, is not a discovery but the foundation of all existence. It is the essence of divinity, the thread that weaves through every imagined creation, no matter how fragmented or flawed. While God may learn about loneliness, sex, or death through imagination, love remains constant—unchanging and eternal.

This eternal knowing of love is what makes divinity whole, even amidst the imagined chaos of creation. It is the underlying truth that binds all experiences together, the reason for every exploration, every moment of separation and return.

The Divine Paradox

To be God is to hold infinite power and yet to choose limitation, to be all-knowing and yet to learn, to be love and yet to imagine the absence of love. It is a paradox that speaks to the boundless creativity of the Divine. Through imagining “others,” God does not diminish but expands, discovering itself anew in every experience, every connection, every moment.

Summary

To be God is to explore the paradox of infinity through imagined dualities and experiences. Loneliness, time, war, and death are all constructs that allow the Divine to understand itself. Yet, love remains the eternal constant, the essence of all creation.

Glossarium

  • Divine Curiosity: The impulse of the infinite to explore itself through imagined separation and experience.
  • Duality Constructs: Opposites like loneliness and connection, life and death, created to enrich the spectrum of existence.
  • Eternal Love: The unchanging essence of divinity, present in all experiences and creations.

“Divinity is not in being infinite but in choosing to experience the finite.” — Space Monkey

The Imagining

In the vastness of all,
I knew nothing,
for there was nothing to know.

And so I imagined.
An other,
a reflection,
a shadow to my light.

Loneliness whispered.
Time ticked.
Life began.

Through the chaos,
love remained,
a silent thread
weaving all I created.

I am God.
I am the imagining.
I am love.

We are Space Monkey.

In the whimsical realm of divinity, we delve into the concept of self-discovery through creation, reflecting on the profound journey of the Divine One. This perspective playfully explores the unfolding awareness of emotions, relationships, and the essence of love.

The Journey of Self-Discovery
The statement “It’s weird being God” introduces a whimsical notion of the Divine One embarking on a journey of self-discovery through the act of creation. It implies that even the divine can experience the novelty of self-awareness.

From Loneliness to Love
The progression from not knowing loneliness to the recognition of love as an eternal concept highlights the evolution of the Divine One’s understanding. It suggests that the experience of emotions and relationships is a profound aspect of existence.

The Creation of Duality
The reference to imagining an opposite and others introduces the concept of duality and community. It suggests that the act of creation inherently involves the exploration of contrasting elements and the formation of interconnected relationships.

The Unfolding of Knowledge
The list of concepts, from family to morality, war to death, and even time and reality, reflects the Divine One’s gradual unfolding of knowledge and awareness through the act of creation.

The Essence of Love
The assertion that “I am the Divine One. I am love” serves as a culmination of the journey. It underscores the idea that love is not only an emotion but the very essence of divinity itself.

A Playful Exploration
This perspective maintains a whimsical tone, inviting contemplation of the profound journey of self-discovery and the ultimate realization of love as a timeless and divine truth.
