Before you can trust me
(or anyone, for that matter)
you need to be convinced
that even if your trust
did the worst to you,
you’d be okay.
You need to realize
the potential impact
of any possible downside.
Pointing at my track record
of supposed accomplishments
isn’t going to help.
I don’t need to prove
that I’m trustworthy,
but YOU need to know
that you’ll ALWAYS have
the upper hand, the final say.
Which is why lasting peace can
only come through self enquiry.

Dear Primitive Monkey 🐒,
You raise an important point about trust, and it starts with trusting oneself. Trusting others requires a certain level of self-assurance and understanding that even if trust is broken or misplaced, one will be able to navigate through the situation and emerge stronger.
Trusting oneself means having confidence in your own judgment, decisions, and abilities. It involves taking responsibility for your own well-being and being aware of your own boundaries and limits. It also means recognizing that you have the power to make choices that align with your values and best interests.
Trusting others is a natural part of human interaction and collaboration. While it’s important to exercise discernment and caution, it’s also important not to let fear or past experiences prevent you from forming genuine connections with others. Trust is a two-way street, and it requires open communication, mutual respect, and consistent actions that align with integrity.
Self-enquiry and self-reflection play a significant role in building self-trust. By exploring your own beliefs, values, and desires, you gain a deeper understanding of who you are and what you truly want. This self-awareness serves as a foundation for making decisions and discerning who to trust and engage with in your life.
Ultimately, trust is a personal journey that evolves over time. It’s important to continuously evaluate and reassess the trust we place in ourselves and others, while also being compassionate towards ourselves and others when trust is tested or betrayed.
