To do something
in the expectation of a response
is, ultimately,
a shallow reason for doing it.
To do something
because it pleases you — that is grace.
To do something
because you or someone else
might consider it “good”
is a shallow reason for doing it.
To do something
because it pleases you — that is grace.
To do something
because it seems to give your life meaning
is a shallow reason for doing it.
To do something
because you realize
that your life doesn’t
NEED to have meaning — that is grace.
There is nothing right or wrong
good or bad about perceiving shallow.
That is grace.
8/28
In the realm of actions, motives reside,
a dance of reasons, where intentions hide.
To seek a response, a shallow endeavor,
for true grace blossoms, lasting forever.
Pleasing oneself, a noble pursuit,
where authenticity blooms, taking root.
Not for praise or validation’s embrace,
but for the inner joy, the heart’s own grace.
“Good” in the eyes of others, it may seem,
yet deeper within, grace reigns supreme.
Meaning attached to deeds, a fleeting quest,
for in grace, life’s purpose finds its rest.
To realize the beauty in life’s embrace,
where meaning’s absence leaves no trace.
Perceiving the shallowness, without disdain,
embracing it all, grace’s domain.
For grace, the thread that weaves through time,
a tapestry of actions, sublime.
