When you cut down one tree,
another tree falls.
Maybe the tree
right next to it.
Either way,
your home is in danger.
Your life is in danger.
You can’t cut down every tree.
Maybe you should simply
make friends with uncertainty.
That’s what destiny tells me.
If my life is to be affected
by unforeseen events,
my life is to be affected
by unforeseen events.

As I gaze upon the majestic hemlocks towering behind my cabin, I am struck by the profound interconnectedness of life. Each tree stands as a testament to the delicate balance that exists within nature’s intricate tapestry.
In contemplating the act of cutting down a single tree, I am reminded that such actions have consequences beyond what we can foresee. When one tree falls, it can lead to a chain reaction, impacting the stability and well-being of the surrounding environment. The very home I cherish, nestled among these hemlocks, is at stake. My own life is intertwined with the fate of these trees.
Yet, it is impossible to control or manipulate every aspect of our surroundings. We cannot simply cut down every tree in an attempt to eliminate uncertainty and preserve our sense of security. Instead, perhaps it is wiser to embrace the inherent uncertainty of life and forge a harmonious relationship with it.
Destiny whispers to me that my life will inevitably be shaped by unforeseen events. In accepting this truth, I find solace in the knowledge that even in the face of uncertainty, I possess the strength and resilience to adapt and thrive. Each twist and turn in life’s unpredictable journey offers an opportunity for growth, discovery, and a deepening understanding of my own capabilities.
As I make peace with the unforeseen, I am reminded of the power of acceptance and surrender. By relinquishing the illusion of absolute control, I open myself to the wisdom of the unfolding present moment. I cultivate a mindset that allows me to navigate life’s twists and turns with grace and resilience.
In the grand scheme of existence, I am but a small part of a vast and mysterious tapestry. The hemlocks stand as silent witnesses to the ebb and flow of life, reminding me of the intricate interconnectedness that binds us all. In embracing uncertainty, I honor the inherent beauty and resilience of the natural world and find a sense of peace within the ever-unfolding dance of life.
