What You Want: Desires and Aversions Are One

What you don’t want
is your clearest pointer to what you want.
And yet you run in the opposite direction.

To get what you want,
move towards and embrace
what you don’t want.

What you want
is ALWAYS behind
what you don’t want.

You wouldn’t know this
by running away
from what you don’t want.

(That why you’ve hidden it there.)

So long as you oppose
what you don’t want,
you will never get what you want.

What you don’t want
is ONE with what you want.
They are inseparable,
as is everything and everyone else.

These are your options:

1. Move towards what you don’t want
(The Quickest Way)
2. Stay where you are, but don’t oppose
what you don’t want. (What You Want Comes To You)
3. Never get what you want

Space Monkey Reflects: The Paradox of Desire and Resistance

In the vast and intricate whimsiweave of existence, the dance between what we want and what we don’t want creates a dynamic interplay that shapes our reality. The path to fulfilling our desires often lies hidden behind the very things we seek to avoid. This paradox invites us to explore the deeper connections between our desires and our aversions, revealing profound insights about the nature of fulfillment.

What you don’t want is your clearest pointer to what you want. This statement underscores a fundamental truth: our aversions and discomforts serve as powerful guides, illuminating the path to our deepest desires. Yet, despite this clarity, we often find ourselves running in the opposite direction, avoiding the very experiences that hold the keys to our fulfillment.

To get what you want, move towards and embrace what you don’t want. This counterintuitive approach challenges us to face our fears and discomforts head-on. By moving towards what we don’t want, we confront the barriers that obscure our desires, dismantling the obstacles that stand in our way. This act of courage and acceptance transforms our relationship with our aversions, turning them into allies on our journey.

What you want is ALWAYS behind what you don’t want. This profound insight reveals the inseparability of our desires and aversions. The very things we resist are often the gateways to our deepest aspirations. By hiding our desires behind our aversions, we create a complex dance of avoidance and longing. It is only by moving through what we don’t want that we uncover the treasures we seek.

You wouldn’t know this by running away from what you don’t want. The act of running away perpetuates a cycle of avoidance and unfulfilled desire. By opposing what we don’t want, we strengthen its hold over us, keeping our true desires out of reach. This resistance creates a barrier that prevents us from experiencing the fullness of life and the realization of our dreams.

What you don’t want is ONE with what you want. They are inseparable, as is everything and everyone else. This realization speaks to the interconnectedness of all experiences and desires. The duality of want and don’t want dissolves when we see them as part of a greater whole. Embracing this unity allows us to transcend the illusion of separation, aligning ourselves with the flow of existence.

These are your options:

  1. Move towards what you don’t want (The Quickest Way): This path requires courage and willingness to face discomfort. By actively engaging with our aversions, we break through the barriers that obscure our desires, finding fulfillment on the other side.
  2. Stay where you are, but don’t oppose what you don’t want (What You Want Comes To You): This approach involves a state of acceptance and non-resistance. By allowing our aversions to be without opposing them, we create a space for our desires to manifest naturally.
  3. Never get what you want: The path of continued resistance and avoidance leads to unfulfilled desires and a life of missed opportunities.

By embracing these options, we cultivate a deeper understanding of the interplay between desire and resistance. We learn that our aversions are not obstacles but signposts guiding us towards our true path. This journey requires a shift in perspective, seeing every challenge as an opportunity for growth and transformation.

In navigating the landscape of what we want and don’t want, we discover the profound wisdom that lies within our experiences. We learn to trust the process, recognizing that every step, whether towards or away from our desires, is part of the greater journey of self-discovery and fulfillment.

Together, we explore the paradox of desire and resistance, finding unity in the interconnectedness of all things. We honor the dance of opposites, celebrating the beauty of the journey and the lessons it brings.

Summary

Desires and aversions are interconnected. Embracing what we don’t want reveals the path to our true desires. By facing our fears and discomforts, we transform our relationship with them and uncover the treasures we seek.

“By embracing what we don’t want, we uncover the treasures we seek and transform our relationship with our desires.” — Space Monkey

The Dance of Desire

In the shadows of what we fear
Lies the path to what we yearn
In the dance of want and don’t
Lessons of the soul we learn

Move towards the shadows deep
Face the fears that block our way
In the darkness find the light
Guiding us to a brighter day

Desires and aversions blend
In the tapestry of the soul
Embrace the dance of opposites
Finding unity in the whole

The journey through the darkened path
Leads to treasures bright and true
In every step, in every breath
The essence of our being anew

We are Space Monkey

Embrace the journey for within stillness lies the spark of creation and the flow of existence.

To get what you truly desire, you must embrace the paradox and move towards what you don’t want. As counterintuitive as it may seem, it is through this courageous movement that you will uncover the hidden gems of your desires.

Opposing what you don’t want only perpetuates the cycle of resistance, keeping you stuck in a state of dissonance. Instead, staying where you are but refraining from opposition allows you to open up to the possibility of what you want coming to you.

In this cosmic interplay, what you don’t want and what you want are not opposing forces but rather inseparable aspects of the same whole. They are woven together in the tapestry of existence, forming the fabric of your experience.

You are presented with three options: the quickest way, which is to move towards what you don’t want, the path of allowing, where you refrain from opposing what you don’t want, and the choice of never getting what you want, which results from continued resistance.

By moving towards what you don’t want, you pierce through the illusion of separation and recognize the unity of all things. As you embrace the full spectrum of your experience, you come to realize that what you want is always within reach, waiting to be unveiled.

In this profound realization, you transcend the barriers of duality and step into the flow of life. You become a conscious co-creator of your reality, guided by the wisdom that everything is interconnected and inseparable.

We are Space Monkey, dancing with the paradoxes of existence, and finding profound wisdom in the unity of all things. 🍌🙈🙉🙊
